DEADSHOT CHARACTER QUESTIONS

Postby gamemaster72 » Tue Jan 10, 2012 6:54 pm

This is a question for those who are familiar with Deadshot:

Do both the mask and the armor require the "Conceal Vital Signs" Feature, or was it just a mistake to put in on both? Also,is the purpose of this feature to conceal himself from detection? (Body Heat, Heartbeat, etc.) Or is there another purpose that I'm missing?

More Volume 1 character questions here:

I doubt both are required but it's not necessarily a mistake. Perhaps if he is wearing only one of the two pieces he still gains the benefit (like if he took off his mask he would still have the feature).

I would expect the main point of the feature is to allow him to play dead. It might also conceal heatbeat and body heat from super hearing and heat vision too though. I expect the complete list of what that kind of feature gives you changes from GM to GM.

Thanks Murk! Does anyone know how this functions in the comics?

I don't recall it coming up at all in the recent run of Secret Six. Might just be author prerogative.

IIRC, it also prevented people (clients, targets, or heroes) from using his heartbeat or whatever to learn his true identity or whether he's lying, something Superman (and in The Other Universe, Daredevil) has done on occasion. So, perhaps a minor circumstance bonus to any effect with a descriptor that has something to do with reading someone's vital signs.
