Oh, absolutely.

Although, that one just might help to get a favorite character into the last book...

I was just trying to help out a new guy on the forum... :)

I appreciate the help :)

Commissionaire Gordon. I know he doesn't have super powers but I think he is a very important character to the Bat Universe.

There's still a fourth volume to go of course. I know who I wrote up for the Atlas, but what actually gets printed is another matter.

Who else is missing? Uh, Mark Shaw as an individual Manhunter (then again, DC Editorial tortured the hell out of his continuity), several Superman villains of the last decade (Conduit, Ruin, Live Wire), Hercules (maybe in the Atlas, though), Space Ranger (yeah, I know-pretty obscure), Tommy Tommorow (ditto), Claw the Unconquered, Crimson Fox, a few others.

Well, that leaves us to write up our favorite neglected worthies, I suppose.

All my best.

OK, now that I have my copy of H&V2 I notice we're missing a Manhuntr. I forget his name but it was duirng the 90s when he had his own, often brutal comic. Chase Lawler I think his name was. Are we trying to pretend that the 90s never happened?

They don't have the Blood Pack in there either. I'd imagine the hideously unpopular characters that were eventually murdered in the background are being ignored. They can't put in ALL the characters.

I'm disappointed because that version of Manhunter I mentioned is actually my favorite.

Yes, sorry-everyone is someone's favorite character. Heck, I still have storylines I could do for Captain Ultra over in the MU.

Chase Lawler was actually depowered, not killed off. In happened in the Kate Spencer Manhunter series, where Mark Shaw's history was rewritten just about completely. The aforementioned Mr. Shaw then became something of a non-canon character by retcon, even in the pre-New 52 DC continuity.

I doubt the Bloodpack or the New Guardians (aside from Harbinger) are going to get statted up (or ever mentioned again) by DC anytime soon.

All my best.

Eh? Only depowered? But Wikipedia thinks he's dead :D

Lawler was drugged and then murdered by Shaw, who had fallen back into his Dumas persona.[20]

You're right, I remembered it incorrectly.

Shaw also murdered Kirk DePaul (clone of the original Manhunter Paul Kirk), though DePaul was later resurrected, sort of, by original creator Kurt Busiek.

He also killed off the elderly Dan Richards, the other Golden Age Manhunter.

The whole Shaw as Dumas thing was a total retcon, and utterly in contradiction to the events depicted in the JLA, Suicide Squad, and his own series featuring Shaw.

Man, I have to admit I really hated that development. A lot. Course, I always liked Mark Shaw.

Will Payton Starman too, though he and Gavyn merged.

Have to agree about Shaw's mistreatment.

And the Payton merging with Gavyn thing made ZERO sense.

Someone mentioned Crimson Fox. In fact, the entire Global Guardians roster is missing. I suppose they'll show up in the Universe book. Only five years to go for that. ;)

The whole character assassination of Mark Shaw seemed to be done gratuitously, just to make Kate Spencer the only "real" Manhunter. What was worst was being told the events clearly depicted in other titles were just delusions inside Shaw's mind.

Yes, I was fond of Will Payton as well...despite his god-awful first costume. The series itself wasn't great, but an earnest hero who self-consciously tried his best-wow, what a refreshing change in the last generation of comics characters!

Even James Robinson admits the Gavyn/Payton thing and the whole "Mystery in Space" story in his Starman book was too convoluted and plodding, not his best work. Overall I loved his Jack Knight and Shade, however, as well as many of the supporting characters.

Somehow I missed the whole Global Guardians roster being missing along with the Crimson Foxes. I hope they do pop in the Atlas, though I had nothing to do with any of the Earth-bound locales.

All my best.

Two characters I definitely want to see in the DC Universe book are Lady Quark and Prince Ra-Man.
