Chemo Question

Postby Mogo » Wed Aug 01, 2012 3:19 am

hey all I have a quick question about Chemo.

In his write up it says he can increase his PL through chemical absorption, I feat I think is fitting and very cool. My question is how is this ruled, I mean were points put to this effect or was it just a by product of well written flavor text ?

I only ask because I am working an a hero for one of my players who can summon a Mech like suit, once a game session and I wanted it to increase his PL while he wears it. Nothing crazy, just an increase by like 1 or 2 points. I was just not sure how to handle something like this. How would an ability that raises personal power level be handled ? How much would it cost ?

Sorry if this was covered before and thanks in advance for any help. :)

It's not "ruled" it's just the GM choosing to have his villain at a higher PL perhaps to deal with stronger PCs. There is no rule or points cost to this because there isn't any reason for there to be, players cannot go up PLs unless the GM decides to raise the series PL, villains/NPCs don't have that problem.

It wouldn't cost anything because it "can't be done" (or more correctly it isn't done like that). Rather then "raising" their PL you go the other direction. The "mech" PL is at the top of whatever the series PL you had already decided on and then when he is out of his mech he is under PL by however much. Just like how a Tony Stark build will usually have Ironman at whatever PL and then when he is out of the suit at a lower PL (often much lower).

LoL For some reason that never occurred to me, having him be a lesser PL out of the armor. Is there a smiley face slapping his forehead in a "Duh!" animation ?

Thank you for the quick reply it is much appreciated. Sometimes I over think things and try my hardest to reinvent the wheel. :)
