Sorry, its a bit of a retcon. I figured there was enough stuff on Our Mars to begin with, so I made all the John Carter stuff its own thing in the Lor Republic.

The Super Extreme Guardians of Otherworlds

When former New Warrior Black R. Nd said he was going to create a pan-Imageria super-group he was being serious. As much as he can be.

See the Imageria is always being plagued by threats from the Real World, or by internal threats that get out of control. A lot of times Real Worlders have to come in and make things right, or a lone Imagerial hero will have to struggle mightily to restore their world to its proper state. It was Black’s insight that if Imagerial heroes banded together they could get more done than they could alone and without so much help from the outside.

Now being beings of the Imageria the Super EGOs do have a unique restriction: they have to follow Da Rulez. Da Rulez can basically be boiled down to “Stories have to happen”. This means that so long as someone like a villain is abiding by the rules of being in a story, by the tropes if you will, beings from other parts of the Imageria can’t just do whatever they want: no calling for outside help or breaking in to mess around with the story. Even people from the Real World if they follow Da Rulez are protected, like the Dark Undermaster. Still that does leave a lot of rule-breakers for the Super EGOs.

The Discardians
The main Super EGO team is a bunch of Black’s friends from the Discardia.

Black R. Nd: Once described as “Too zany even for me” by Wildcard Black hasn’t changed a bit since his New Warrior days. He still thinks of himself as a genius of science, but really his talent is somehow surviving any piece of technology or science gone wrong, often at his own hands. Black is an anthropomorphic black fox with raven wings dressed in post-apocalyptic steam-punk inventor gear.

Luck Bunny: Daughter of Gamblin’ Man, Lost Vegas’ greatest hero, and Fat Catgirl, its biggest (in more ways than one) casino owner, Luck Bunny was born lucky. Literally: her power is an abundance of luck which even rubs off on people that hang around her. Of course it’s both good and bad luck, but there had to be a drawback somewhere. No one can say what kind of luck landed her Black, seeing as how she’s always kicking his @$$ for some slight against their relationship, real or not. Some of the wiser folk who’ve observed their relationship speculate that Black is the only person with enough confidence to make LB respect him. (That and the fact that his power makes him nigh-indestructable.) Luck Bunny looks like a gorgeous human woman in a Playboy Bunny costume, except those ear and tail are real. When not on a mission with the Discardians she works as a lounge act at one of her mother’s many casinos.

The Tossing Owls: LB’s pets, a parliament of burrowing owls that are incredibly vicious to everyone except LB, Larry, and Ooie-gooie (well, they’re vicious to him, but he never seems to notice). Whenever LB is in a fight (or just annoyed with someone) she’ll throw one of the owls at them who will then proceed to screetch and maul the victim. Their chief weapon is surprise. Surprise and fear--Their two chief weapons are surprise and fear and a full mouth of sharp teeth. Their three chief weapons......

Larry the Lounge Lizard: LB’s iguana bodyguard. Or at least he would be if Larry weren’t so laid back that he wouldn’t hurt a fly. In fact Larry may be the most laid-back person in existence, an ability which has gotten the team out of a jam more than once. Larry is normally the one playing during Luck Bunny’s lounge acts, and in fact spends most of the teams’s battles doing a musical accompaniment.

Atomic Porcupine: Adam Porcine was just your average anthro porcupine, until the day he hiked onto an A-bomb testing range outside Lost Vegas and was dosed with gamma rays, granting him amazing atomic powers! At least he thinks so: in reality he just gained the ability to instantly regrow lost quills and a green bioluminescence. But he makes up for it with enthusiasm.

Co-braw: A giant cobra surfer dude from Lost Vegas’ sister city of Lost Angles. Co-braw has no powers, but he is an extreme sports champ (even without limbs), and is, like, all smart and stuff because he’s a professor at the University of Kalliflower.

Ooie-gooie: A cthulhoid horror. Who fights crime. With the power of dance! Yeah, Ooie-gooie is kind of inscrutable, but the rest of the team admits his dance powers are nothing to be laughed at. And he’s just a really positive guy.

Memetick: An oversized sapient tick (perhaps related to the Turakian demon type) with awesome mental powers that he uses to the team’s aid.

The Teddy Roosevelt: The team’s all-environment humvee. Designed and built by Black the Teddy Roosevelt somehow acquired intelligence and a mischievous personality.

E Mo: When the Unimaginable Bureaucracy (the Imagerial central point from which all bureaucraticness flows) got wind of Black’s plan they insisted on having a liason. Enter E Mo from the Earth realm of Diyu (kind of like purgatory, only with a bureaucracy): a shotgun-packing horse-headed demon in red with an iron rod for a spine. While she’s a by-the-book officer she means well and has manage to earn the Super EGOs’ grudging respect.


Super EGO Allies
There are a lot of Imagerial heroes who currently consider the Super EGOs a joke. But they have managed to get a few into the project.

The Ponyvengers: The Earth-409 Avengers from Shinchuu’s semi-autobiographical fanfics. Since they’re both her personal impressions (as well as not wanting to offend any of her team-mates) they aren’t exactly the same as their real-life counterparts.

The Pony League Unlimited: An organization of pony hero memes. Among their number are Solid Sparkle (badass commando Twilight), Samurai Applejack (taciturn sword-weilding G1 Applejack thrown into the future by Tirak), Beta Ray Big Mac (Big Mac wielding Mjollnir), Fluttertree (Fluttershy with plant powers), the Pinkazoid (Pinkie Pie in a Freakzoid get-up), and Super-Special-Awesome Rainbow Dash (Rainbow Dash, just 20% cooler).


Rogues’ Gallery
Yes, as little time as they’ve had to be around the Super EGOs have managed to acquire a few nemesis.

Snipe the Hunter: Tired of his people always being hunted by Real Worlders this particular snipe took his species natural hard-to-see-and-catch-ness and some advanced sniper training and became an assassin specializing in humans.

Flame, king of the Forum Trolls: A troll who was more inclined to brains than brawn, Flame had no purpose in life until he discovered the nascent Internet. Finding that he could get away with mischief here that no fay had ever dreamed of Flame has built up a squabble of like-minded bitter jerks like himself and uses them to terrorize all sections of the Imageria touched by its digital presence.

The Summers Family


Scott Summers: Third cousin to Duncan Summers, the original Raven, Scott was a crusader for Metahuman rights in the 60's and 70's under the name Cyclops. , along with his then girlfriend, Jean Grey, his younger brother, and a number of younger meta-humans who attached themselves to his cause.

Scott retired to his childhood home of Anchorage, Alaska after Jean disappeared in the early 90's. He still lectures on metahuman rights, and has been known to teach for a semester or two at some of the meta-human schools, particularly Claremont and Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

Alex Summers: Scott's younger brother. While he had a deep rivalry with his older brother (mostly because Scott had or did everything he ever wanted, only better), Alex has gotten over that and moved on with his life. Also retired, he teaches Geology at Claremont.

Jean Grey/Summers: Scott's one time girlfriend and now vanished wife. Jean was possessed by a cosmic force of Rebirth known as the Phoenix a number of times over the course of several decades, but, shortly after the birth of their second child, she was possessed for the final time, leaving for deep space, and has not been seen on Earth since.

Nathan Summers: Scott and Jeans's first child, Nathan inherented his mothers talent for Telepahty and Telekinesis. Nathan is currently estranged from his father over what he sees as abandoning his responsibility to his infant daughter after Jean's disappearance.

Nathan took a number of years off in the 90's to raise his younger Sister, as well as his own daughter, Hope. He currently does work of AEGIS when needed.

Rachel Summers: Like her older brother, Rachel inherited her mothers abilities. Unlike her brother, she seems to share some of her mothers connection to the Phoenix, her powers occasionally manifesting as a fiery bird and operating far in excess of her normal levels. Currently in her late teen, Rachel has started doing intern work for SWORD, hoping to hear news of the mother she never knew.

Hope Summers: Nathan won't say who Hope's mother is. Some have speculated she isn't his daughter at all, but is a manifestation of the Phoenix itself, or just a child he found. While there is resemblance to Jean, her powers are the ability to mimic the abilities of any metahuman in her area, which are completely dissimilar to any of her relatives abilities. Hope is currently in her senior year at Charles Xavier's School for gifted youngsters.

Christopher Summers: When Scott was eight, he saw his mother and father kidnapped by alien slavers. While his wife died to their depredations, Christopher eventually led a rebellion, taking revenge for her and leading the escaped slaves to become the space pirates known as the Starjammers. He would, decades later, reunite with his sons, though he rarely returns to Earth any more. Still alive and in good health from alien medical technology, Nathan has retired from the pirate life, and now searches for a tropical planet to retire to.

Katherine Summers: Christopher's half human daughter with his mephistoid lover, Hepzibah. Kate appears as a teenage human with some feline features (Ears on the top of her head, a tail, some fur, feline eyes, whiskers). She has recently taken command of the Starjammers from her father, although his old friend C'hod tries to temper her youthful enthusiasm with age and wisdom.

Also, me and Kenseido have begun talking about releasing some Super powered by MnM products, mainly original character teams and the like. Which has made me actually sit down and read the third edition rules.

I got to say I am really liking them. They seem a lot simpler and freeform than 2e, and I like how they rolled most of the affect powers into the afflict power, and they streamlined how damage works.

Still going to run Avengers in 2e of course, but I may be inclined to run a 3e crinoverse game in the future.

I think I might be the only 'regular' in Crinoverse games who actually prefers 3E. I would of course want to play.

I've actually thought of running another Crinoverse game of my own (taking place in Asia somewhere), but I think one game is all I can GM at a time.
