There are things I don't like about 3E, but mostly trying to play/run games in 2E and 3E at the same time became too daunting for me.

CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS: MILLENNIUM CITY AUTOBOTS

The Autobots have been active in Millennium city for a number of years now. While they continue as protectors of the city, their role has changed from Stranded mechanoids, to Cybertron's ambassadors on Earth.

Prowl: Prowl, sadly, gave his life during the Autobots' final battle with Megatron, both to save the city, and, in his final act, to merge the remaining fragments of the Allspark into the Creation Matrix.

Optimus Prime: Is now the bearer of the Creation Matrix, which holds a fragment of the very soul of Primus, creator of the Cybertronian race (Who is, in turn, an Aspect of Autochthon). Optimus continues to lead the Autobots on Earth.

Bulkhead and Sari Suymdac: The pair of them currently reside on Cybertron, Bulkhead to oversee the restructuing of the Autobot Space Bridge network, and Sari to learn about her heritage, as she has discovered she is a Cybertronian protoform in human guise.

Jazz: Prowl's replacement on the team. A member of the Autobot Elite Guard, he teamed with the autobots several times during their stay on Earth, and, after the death of Prowl, asked to be transferred, both out of his facination with Earth Culture, and out of respect as a another of Mater Yokitron's students.

Ironhide: Bulkhead's replacement as the muscle of the group. Ironhide is a bot of few words and direct action. He's still adjusting to life on Earth, not having taken to local culture as quickly as Bulkhead or Jazz did.

Decepticons:

Megatron: After his final defeat by Optimus, Megatron was returned to Cybertron in chains. While awaiting trail, Megatron was able to escape, and regroup with other Decepticons. He attempted an invasion of Chicago, as part of a plan to transplant the Decepticon prison of Kaon to Earth.

Defeated by the Chicago Avengers, he was presumed dead, until, some months later, he reappeared teamed with a Megatron from another dimension, and a version of Loki from a third. Defeated again by the Chicago Avengers, teamed this time with their extradimensional counterparts, Megatron was aboard his ship when the Transwarp drive exploded, and has not been seen since.

Waspoinator and Blackarachnia: Both teamed with Megatron's Counterpart, along with several decepticons found aboard a long crashed autobot spaceship. They were eventually captured after his defeat and are currently in custody while AEGIS, SWORD and the Autobots argue over jurisdiction.

Swindle: Is still selling to whoever pays him. He's been in and out of trouble with all sorts of law enforcement on Earth and across the galaxy, but somehow keeps worming his way loose. Rumor is he's employing a newly arisen Eclipse Caste Celestial Exalted as a lawyer. He was last seen in SWORD custody.

Say Crinos, have you given any thought to incorporating Astro City into the Crinoverse?

The way I was looking at it, the whole thing could be dropped in pretty much as-is, with little to no alterations needed.

While I have read some of the books, I do not know enough about the series in depth to do it justice.

Feel free to take a crack at it if you like.

Crinos, have you created a back story for Gamblin' Man and Fat Catgirl, the two Los Vegas heroes mentioned as the parents of Luck Bunny?

If not, would you mind if I posted on them once I get a bit caught up on projects?

Just the names alone intrigue me, along with a few others personages mentioned but not detailed so far.

All my best.

Yeah, he hasn't because I created them.

And it's Lost Vegas. It's in the Imageria, in a place called the Discardia. The specific area is supposed to be a post-apocalyptic parody of the United States.

Though originally Gamblin' Man was a Los Vegas superhero way back when I came up with the name for a different superhero setting.

Ah, my apologies then, SilverCat.

Do you already have background drawn up for the two characters? I admit to not being terribly familiar with the Imageria concept, except for bits and pieces I've read here on the forum.

Lost Vegas sounds intriguing though.

I never really got into Paragons.

All my best.

Not really: Gamblin' Man was Luck Bunny's father back in her original setting concept and I liked the name so I used him. Fat Catgirl was just my way of making Luck Bunny the daughter of the Lost Vegas's equivalents of Batman and Catwoman (if Catwoman eventually became a morbidly obese "legitimate businesswoman").

It's everything ever imagined all fitting in one unimaginably large changeable dimension.

The Discardia is a concept I came up with where ideas that no one thinks about anymore go to the very bottom of the Imageria until it gets them a new job (and it uses it's 10% cut to keep the bottom solid or the Lovecraftian horrors break through).

It isn't really: it's a place made up of bad puns and gonzo cool stuff.

So essentially Los Vegas if it didn't have to contend with physics.

Re: The Crinoverse 2 (Dragonball Z)

Postby Crinos » Sun Jul 29, 2012 8:18 pm

Well, I promised foes of the Lor Republic before, but I decided I wanted to do this instead. Mainly cause it will partially come into play in Yeo's next campaign and a bit in mine.

Dragonball Z

Because the world of Dragonball Z is so different from the main crinoverse, it will take a great deal more differences: So lets get started.

Son Goku: A hero of the silver age and a founding member of the Tokyo Defense League, Goku is a member of the Saiyan race, an alien race that was largely wiped out by the Planet Trade years ago. When he landed on Earth, Kakkarott was found by Son Gohan, a monk of the White Lotus, who took him in and raised him. Thanks to a bump on the head, Goku forgot about his saiyan programming and became a good natured, if somewhat dim, hero. A powerful martial artist, Goku mastered numerous martial arts, and was a mainstay of the Tokyo Defense League. Goku met his final end during the fateful battle with Tetsuo. Goku was strong, but no match for Tetsuo's psychic powers. Unlike the Goku of other worlds, He never discovered his alien heritage and never became a super Saiyan.

Great Saiyaman: The son of Goku, Gohan is a half Saiyan and super powerful, even moreso than his dad. A member of the Tokyo Defense league, Gohan DID eventually become a Super Saiyan during the battle with Majin Buu years ago.

Yamcha: One of Goku's old friends, Yamcha is a bandit turned White Lotus member.

Krillen: Another White Lotus Member, Krillen is a powerful martial artist and one of the most powerful fighters on Earth. Another old friend of Goku.

Master Roshi: An elderly and perverted martial arts master. Roshi was a mentor to Goku.

Tien and Chaotsu: Former agents of the Black Hand, Chaotsu is a Jiang Shi, and Tien a mystically created mutant. They eventually defected to the White Lotus.

Piccolo: The son of Goku's old enemy King Piccolo, Piccolo was Goku's rival, but they became friends following a battle with Garlic Jr. And became a mentor to Gohan.

Kami: An ancient Namkeian who came to Earth years ago, Kami is one of the elder members of the White Lotus society.

Mr. Popo: A member of the Djinn race bound to serve the White Lotus society, he is no less evil and terrifying, but is largely bound to use his powers for good.

Yajirobe: One of the deadliest swordsmen on the planet. Yajirobe is nevertheless a fat, lazy slob.

Videl: Gohan's wife, Videl is the daughter of Mr. Satan, a pro wrestler turned low end hero and glory hound. Videl has trained in Kaio Ken and is the only current warrior who knows how to use the fabled Spirit Bomb. She also wields the fabled Z sword, making her nearly on par with her husband.

Goten: In this universe, Goten is not Gohan's brother, but his elder son. Goten can also go super Saiyan.

Pan: Gohan and Videl's daughter, she can not yet go super saiyan, but is strong and has her grandfather's extending staff and Nimbus cloud.

Bulma: A childhood friend of Goku, Bulma is the head of Capsule corp, a Japanese company which pioneered technology that allows the compression of tech to tiny capsules. Wife to Yamcha.

Trunks: Son of Bulma and Yamcha, when Trunks was a baby he was kidnapped by Goku's old enemy Dr. Wheelo, who grafted Saiyan DNA to his body, making him a half Saiyan. He can turn into a super saiyan, and is best friend to Goten.

Enemies of DBZ

The Saiyans: there are a small handful of Saiyans left: Bardock and his team managed to escape the slaughter of Frieza, as well as his son Radditz, the exiled prince Tarble, Paragus, and his son the legendary Super Saiyan Brolli. They are currently seeking out other surviving Saiyans to join them against Frieza.

The Planet Trade Menaces to the Lor Repubic and other groups, the Planet Trade are an army of powerful soldiers who wipe out entire worlds to sell to unscrupulous buyers. They are led by the nefarious King Cold and his sons, Cooler and Frieza.

Majin Buu: An ancient demon created by the evil wizard Bibidi, Buu wiped out numerous galaxies before he was beaten and sealed away on Earth. Freed by the wizard Babidi, he was defeated by a small army of super heroes and sealed in the Cooler. He escaped, and is still at large. Buu is powerful, but simple and childlike, with a sweet tooth.

The Red Ribbon Army: A terrorist organization during the Silver Age, they were wiped out by Goku, they are survived by Dr. Gero, who has built a small army of androids and cyborgs to bedevil Gohan and his family and friends.

Garlic Jr.: A native to the planet Makyo, Garlic Jr. became immortal by way of the Dragonballs, and has menaced Goku and Gohan several times, each time being banished to the dreaded dead zone.

Dr. Wheelo: A mad scientist who lost his body and became a brain in a jar, Wheelo sought to steal Goku's body for his own. Using countless bioengineered monsters to menace him.

Turles: A Saiyan warrior and Pirate, he and his band are currently seeking a world to plant the tree of might upon, a deadly super plant which will kill any world it is planted upon.

Lord Slug: A rogue Namekian, Lord Slug traveled from world to world to destroy them. He met his end at the hands of the Avengers when he tried to conquer Xeron.

Bojack: A mutated Vhanian pirate, Bojack and his crew are rival pirates to the Dimensional Pirate Fandango. Unlike Fandango, who is a dashing rogue, and Barbados Slim, who is a smug braggart, Bojack is a murderous monster and butcher.

Janemba: A member of the Pantheon of Discord, Janemba is the lord of absurdity; An all powerful idiot created by a freak accident in the afterlife, with the power to radically alter the rules of life and death throughout the multiverse. Janemba has visited Earth 409 before, and has been driven off by Adrian Eldrich.

Hirudegarn: A huge demon, Hirudegarn was created by the Kashvar, a race of bigoted dark mages who seek to wipe out all "lesser" races from "their" universe. He was sealed away eons ago, but the last of the Kashvar, Hoi, seeks a way to free it.

Anyways, I know that's not an exhaustive list. Anyone want to see anything added, feel free to ask.

So the Imageria is more than a little like the dimension of Out of Their Minds by Clifford D. Simak? That was an alternate universe spawned by human consciousness, starting out populated by mythological figures and ending up filled with pop culture icons such as Mickey Mouse.

Given they are your creations, Silvercat, is it allright for me to post my thoughts along the backgrounds of The Gamblin' Man and Fat Catgirl? In my mind, they are both humans from the "real" world (Crinoverse) who had adventuring careers before being unwillingly transported to the Imageria/Discardia; Fat Catgirl was once known as The Black-Velvet Catgirl and then the Leopard Catgirl during her earlier days on Earth as an adventurer/high-end thief/antihero; The Gamblin' Man was a legacy hero but also inspired by the original Blackwing and the first Raven.

Would it be cool to go ahead and do my versions, even if "non-canon" so to speak?

The Imageria comes from a lot of sources: The main source is of course the realm from the Paragons setting. Other sources include the four realms of Champions, the Gestalt Dimension, The Nevernever, the Umbra, and others.

Oh, they are both in the Planet Trade, still loyal (seemingly) to Frieza.
