Kinda supports my point. The man is a saint. He is the penultimate nice guy, with the Sword of God, who prods buttocks for The Lord. (This is Michael. I can't curse.)He's the least scary, least terrifying one of the bunch when you meet him. You know he won't kill you, unless you're Evil. Even this he's going to go out of his way to ask you to repent first. The rest, once they figure you're a danger, will kill you. The rest are all pretty intimidating from the word go. Michael, not so much.

That's the way things work at our house. I'm 6-2, 300 lbs. and my wife is 4-7 on a good day with a degenerative arthritic condition and a plate in her leg now after the whole broken leg thing of a couple of years ago. I have a fuse about as long as the Nile River but when I blow, I Hulk out.

But 99% of the time, when the kids do something wrong, I just sit back and say "don't make me tell your mother". And they snap to it. They know who's the most dangerous. :)

Cold Days hits shelves November 27.
As it was only finished on July 30, and knowing what I do about the book industry, that leaves me a bit concerned that there wasn't much time for edits and proof-reading. Crossing fingers...

given that he held back the prior book because it wasn't up to his standards when the initial deadline hit I'm pretty confident in Butcher's internal QC of his material

Yeah. I'm with you.
But I know the people involved at almost all points and this timeframe really doesnt mesh with the way they do things. And that's what gives me pause.

No pause here. I have faith in Butcher. I read the snippet of Cold Days in the paperback of Ghost Story and laughed out loud in Barnes and Noble. I think it's going to be great. Nothing will ever top Dead Beat to me, but I've enjoyed every single book and I see no reason why that should change.

I second everything that Thorp said, with the possible exception of the Dead Beat comment. Not that it wasn't a fantastic book, but because all of the Dresden books have been great (IMHO) and they are all too close to call. :D

Butcher has 3 stories of Dresden dealing with Bigfoot in 3 different anthologies.

Maybe he'll collect them together for me like he did Sidejobs. It would make my life easier.

I'm hoping for that as well.

He has several stories not in Side Jobs. The plan is to collect them in a book titled Other Jobs.
