I'm not keen on the end of pond life. Too abrupt a mood change for me

Go back and look at the breakfast scene in ep 4 you can see the exchange between Rory and Amy and to me it doesn't read as a health playful exchange but the start of some simmering troubles.
Forty six and two are just ahead of me.

Is anyone else sick of Amy & Rory yet? Because i am.

Yes, from what I understand both characters are leaving the series soon.

Not sure why Amy and Rory wouldn't appeal to the Doctor for help with Amy's infertility, given her treatment at the hands of The Silence and the loss of her daughter Melody Pond/River Song were due to the Doctor's enemies.

And besides...he is a doctor.

The Ponds are sort of an anomaly as companions go...have any others had such convulated personal timelines (again, the parents of time-traveller River Song, Rory as the immortal Centurion, two alt-worlds versions of Amy [one present, one future]...)?

Looking forward to more River Song however, as I would gladly watch Alex Kingston in any role (and am the only one who thinks she's one of the sexiest actresses on television?).

Enjoying the young Matt Smith as the Doctor more and more...he's got acting chops.

All my best.

Oh my. What do we make of this? Theories on the identity of the hooded figure?

I'm a little confused because they already did their exit from the series, at least as regulars. Why set them up so the Doctor has left them thinking he's dead, and then immediately bring them back into the series? (sure River spoiled that secret immediately, but it was clear he had left them to move on with their life) And then come up with an excuse for them to leave again?

Just watched the newest episode... I love this show...

I liked Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor... I was sad to see him go... Then I quickly got to love David Tennant and couldn't imagine anyone else could ever match him... I didn't want to like Matt Smith... But he's done the impossible and, at least in some ways, surpassed even Tennant...

...And whether or not anyone else likes Amy and Rory, they've brought some amazing things to the show...

Just when I think this show is going to stall out and drop like a lead balloon, there's a surprise that makes me feel like a kid again...

Well, the new companion seems interesting enough. Though I'm not sure what form they intend to bring her back in, as a pseudo-Dalek, as a clone, as an earlier incarnation of herself?

Having her travel with the Doctor prior to her crash on the Asylum seems likely, and would lend a tragic spin to her tenure since we would know how her story comes to an end.

Time in Doctor Who isn't exactly immutable... Unless the story requires it, of course...

Hopefully they will avoid that, having done that with River already.

Well, I don't know. They might go the earlier incarnation route, simply because it would put the Doctor in moral crisis again. If the parting with of the Ponds is a 'tragic' as has been suggested, the second-half of the season with Oswin may be the Doctor having another meltdown like towards the end of Tennant's run and deciding "breaking the rules" as it were.

Its pure conjecture (which is almost always wrong), but I think the metaplot with the "question/doctor who?" situation may involve the Doctor considering breaking the rules and saving Oswin, despite the fact that she's already an important point in his own timeline but he'll eventually have to go back and undo that and let her fly off to her own tragic fate.

I have a nagging suspicion that the starship Alaska launches (launched) from place referred to by some character later on in the show as the fields of trenzalore... and that the "question" is simply the one that the Doctor has been asked a million times on the show in various different ways - i.e. simply "Who are you?", to which he normally answers "I'm the Doctor."... but with Oswin he'll be forced to say nothing at all and walk away... at least the second time around. My suspicion is that the first time around, he'll say his usual "I'm the Doctor." and thus take her on her run as his new companion and defying the big rule (which likely somehow puts Earth or the whole universe in peril).

Pure conjecture and thus likely way off, but its my current suspicion.

One thing I've learned from Doctor Who is that I can't predict what's going to happen... I love that...
