How is the new series thus far?
You must be proud, bold, pleasant, resolute,
And now and then stab, as occasion serves.

Pretty good so far. Even got my mom to watch it and she liked it.

We've only had episode which sets up the idea.

Miracle Day. Nobody dies. But the CIA get a message saying just Torchwood before the message disappears from the computers and then everything else as it is hit by a virus. Among those not dieing are a child killer and a CIA agent who should have died in a car crash. Two CIA staff start trying to find out what Torchwood is or was after word comes down from the top that the case is closed.
From there it gets interesting.

Horrendous second episode , really didnt like it , ham fisted acting by all main characters...

the ER doc was the only one I thought had any decent credibility.

shame....still watch it though

What are we on now? 5? 6? How is it to this point?

Episode 8 actually, and it's been the best of the last few.

An more to the point, does anyone actually care? Hey, does anyone else remember when Torchwood was, you know... fun? Because this season & the last one, not so much so with the fun... Actually i've found watching it to actually be a chore.

To call this last episode the best of the last few, is like saying the rest of the season was really REALLY crap & this was was just really crap... Thas a whole "really," less crap then the rest of the episodes in this season to date. This is not Torchwood, there is no torchwood in this series of torchwood.

Interesting, I had interpreted it more as a little bit of both kinda thing.
Overall, I liked Miracle Day, in places it had some brilliant thought provoking writing, that said, it was uneven and felt rather padded in places, some episodes, especially the middle ones offered up one or two interesting bits and a whole lot of wheel spinning melodrama, I think it would have much tighter story had it been close to half as long. Like Children of Earth it was pretty bleak, though thankfully it was not quite the oppressive downer that we had in Children of Earth.
