I think it's more the fact that the "precocious, smarter than all the grown-ups tween" has become such an annoying cliche, especially since most children can't act for beans.
Play extreme safe.

The insightful kid thing is fine, just so long as they don't turn him into the 'the kid is far more clever, insightful and understanding than any of the adults, but no one listens to him because he's a kid' shtick.

I don't have a problem with a genius being more clever than the adults but the whole "no one listens to him even though he could build a time machine out of aluminum foil" thing that pisses me off. I have run into younger people who were smarter than me, it doesn't happen often  but when it does I don't blow them off because of thier age. That would just show how incredible stupid I am if I did.

I think that Claire's doing a fairly good job at portraying some of the expected indeciveness, social awkwardness and nervousness of the teenage years. She's not 'oh so much more clever than the adults', while still being fairly intellegent in her own right. Sure, she's making mistakes. Considering her world has been turned upside-down, both with her powers and meeting her biological 'parents', both of which would feed her fear of losing her family, not to mention what the QB tried to do, it's amazing she's as stable as she is.

one thing I noticed is she died and they haven't even touched on that at all.
Did she just sit in blackness? Was she in a dream state?

No mention at all, like it never happened. Realize it would be tough to fit it in the story but she should have had some kind of emotional reaction to that.

Well, she was pretty shaken up, both when she woke up, and when she got home. Considering she didn't seem to realize how much time had passed when she woke up, I'd speculate that when she is 'dead', she's out like a light. No dreams, no brain activity at all.

1) Yea, I hate it when they do the smart kid who's just a kid so can't be listened to. They've got that a little with Micah at the moment, but really I think it's more of a smart kid who hasn't spoken up much before, so noone knows they should listen to him. Which is a pretty good portrayal of a smart kid (one version anyhow). He knows things, he doesn't assume that other people don't know them too... and he's insecure and not speaking up when perhaps he should.

2) I think they're doing a great job with Claire the teenager. It is something of a wonder she's not more screwed up. Of course, I've taken the thought that she was initially suicidal at the start of the show, and these things have just shaken up an already screwed up girl into a slightly more normal format.

3) Yea... What DID happen to Claire while she was out. That was completely passed over? (one assumes she can't remeber, if no other data is given that's my assumption anyhow).

If you always keep an open mind you'll be surprised at the things that find their way in.

Actually they did a little, when they were at the lockers the next morning arguing over what happened at the party.

I think she's in a little denial and self delusion over it. She told her friend (can never remember his name) that she was alive right here when he mentioned to her that she died the night before.

Wow, short term memory IS the first thing to go when you get start getting old. :P

Of course she's been acting in motion pictures for about 10 years now, so it's good to see she's picked up some acting ability along the way.

The NBC site itself maybe?
You must be proud, bold, pleasant, resolute,
And now and then stab, as occasion serves.
