Thoughts on the superbowl spot?
You must be proud, bold, pleasant, resolute,
And now and then stab, as occasion serves.

It looked like a pretty much by the numbers type of ad. Good but nothing jumped out at me like "wow look at that!"

For my money that's what made it a good ad. I don't want to have seen the best parts of the movie before I plant my butt in the theater seats, so I like that the ads have been fairly sedate. What we get shown looks good, and promising, but doesn't become a "good parts version" condensed to 1 minute.
Forty six and two are just ahead of me.

Agreed. I hate when a trailer shows all the good parts and ruins the movie. It's even more annoying when they decide to show the last or next to last scene in a trailer. :x

All in all I think the trailer was very well done and made me anticipate this movie even more!
A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.

Why that line was only in the long trailer is utterly beyond me. I love Cap but I'm sorry, "Nothing will surprise me' could have absolutely been cut for 'We have a Hulk'

They're clearly all different images that have been photoshopped together, it doesn't look like a coherent scene at all.

Even Tony Stark's head appears to have been pasted on to the body of the Ironman suit.

Yeah.
and apparently they now longer put RDJ is an actual costume, but instead CG the suit in. Makes it too small for my tastes

Everything about this movie shows that it was filmed by the seat of Whedon's pants. There was not a lot of lead time between Captain America and Avengers, and I remember reading an interview with Whedon where he pretty much says that he made it up as he went along. Of course, a lot of good movies (including Iron Man 1) are made under similar conditions, so we'll see what happens. I just wish there had been a couple more months to design a better promotional campaign and better costumes. I'm looking at you, Capt. Rogers.

Also, new trailer late tonight/early tomorrow.

EDIT: Exact quote from the Avengers Facebook page:
"Tune in to Apple/iTunes tomorrow at 9 a.m. PST to watch the new “Marvel’s The Avengers” trailer exclusively available on Apple Trailers!"

"Sure, this will probably end up being another in a long line of emotionally crippling misadventures, but let's try to have some fun along the way."
