Real Name: Angela Ayala
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 109 lbs
Hair: Brown
Eye Color: Brown

Complications:
Reputation: Araña is known for her habit of playing long term games with her foes, even the simplest theft or attack has some other reason to it. She is also known for having traps in her bases as well for when heroes come looking for her, normally of the deadly kind and they tend to be specially designed.

Reputation: Araña is a known sociopath; killing simply because she can as well as for her own amusement.

Background: Angela Alaya was always afraid of spiders ever since she was a young child. It didn't matter what kind they were, how they looked, what they were kept inside of or how far away from her they were: Angela would faint upon seeing them. This would have been a normal thing in the scheme of things really though, it was a fairly normal phobia for someone to suffer through but then Angela's life took a cruel twist. Early in her teenage years she began to show signs of being effected by the energies released during the last Terminus invasion and slowly manifested a set of powers that emulated the abilities of a spider: increased agility, able to crawl across walls, increased strength, as well as a venomous touch.

The association between herself and the thing she feared so much simply was too much for Angela to handle and she fell into a catatonic state for just under ten years. When she did finally wake up, Angela was a completely different person. It seems that while she was comatose, Angela's personality rebuilt itself to be much stronger than it had been. Now she was deviously cunning and almost completely ruthless as well as having a lust for predation. The doctors at the Albright Institute were shocked and amazed at the transformation Angela had underwent, they theorized that she had remade her personality based on her perceptions of what spider’s personality would be like. Angela quickly left the care of the Institute and went her own way, which led her by a lab that was developing a non lethal round that released a gel that restrained the target upon impact (which she has had modified over the years to now include offensive abilities).

From there Angela disappeared for several months only to reappear as Araña, for the first time, when she robbed the Jeweler's Show being held for charity which brought Araña into conflict with both the Raven and the Bowman (both of whom were there in their secret identities). Despite the experience against her, Araña was able to hold her own with her vicious nature and willingness to use hostages for leverage against the heroes and made her escape. Since then Araña has fought against the Raven for the most part though there have been a couple meetings with some of the other heroes of Freedom City, but none of them really challenge her like the Raven does. Araña has developed a knack for dreaming up long term plans of manipulation of events and people to accomplish her goals and loves to test Raven's ability to figure it all out.

Real Name: Peter Rollins
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 185 lbs
Hair: Blonde
Eye Color: Blue

Complications:
Just a crook: Meteor isn’t trying to take over the world, he’s mostly looking to make some easy money with his powers.

Reputation: Meteor is known to be an aggressive fighter when using his powers. He doesn’t worry about collateral damages or bystanders when using his powers.

Temper: Meteor is known for having a short fuse.

Background: Peter Rollins was a career criminal, always pulling minor robberies just for the fun he had while doing the crime. This led him to spending a large amount of his life behind bars in several different jails and prisons. It was during one of his stays that Peter was able to actually escape and was being chased by the search party from the prison when he witnessed an asteroid crash to Earth. Peter followed the asteroid's trail, hoping it's violently upheavel of the area would help hide his tracks, until he found the large rock from space. The asteroid was still giving off massive amounts of heat and was also releasing fumes from within it, Peter got too close and inhaled some of those fumes then passed out. When the search party finally found Peter it was hours later and he was still out cold, so they gathered him up and took him back to prison. When he woke up days later Peter was in intensive pain so bad that the prison doctors were forced to medicate him to keep him asleep so he couldn't feel the pain his body was experiencing.

Finally a full month later Peter woke up without any pain, what followed was a long series of tests by the prison doctors. It was during this time while he was being transported back and forth between the hospital and the prison that Peter realized that he had gained powers from his exposure to the asteroid's fumes. Peter bided his time until the guards sent with him on his trips started to relax then he made his move, the guards simply couldn't deal with Peter's powers that allowed him to manipulate the ground beneath their feet and he easily escaped.

Soon Peter reappared, calling himself Meteor when using his powers, starting one of his famous string of high profile robberies and he hasn't looked back since. Meteor has became one of the nation's top 10 most wanted along with a reputation as a ruthless fighter that isn't worried about collaterial damage.

Real Name: Julian Mathers
Height: 6’
Weight: 160 lbs
Hair: None
Eye Color: Black

Complications:
Just a mook: Mindpyre isn't going to take over the world and he knows it. He normally keeps to simply crimes when he's not raging out over some minor offense don against him.

Gonna show them!: Normally Mindpyre will target whoever it was that has angered him until they are pleading for mercy. laughing hte whole time about what he's doing to them.

Temper: Mindpyre is known for being a rageohoic.

Background: Julian Mathers was just another struggling artist whose craft didn‘t really give him enough money to support himself fully, he always he ended up doing various odd jobs to make ends meet. It was this that led to him joining the world of superhumans, as Julian would often answer to adds asking for people willing to be paid to take various medicines in the testing phase. Like so many medical trials before Julian didn‘t ask many questions, he found that it was just easier that way and he could focus on getting back to work. So when several of the others taking part in the testing began to have bad reactions to the drugs they‘d been given: hysterical fits, intense hallucinations that made LSD trips sound like a summer vacation, violent outbursts that resulted in serious injuries to the victims of those attacks, Julian panicked along with the others who had yet to fall victim.

When a group of men in uniforms entered the room and began to execute the more dangerous of the study group and rounding up the others showing reactions Julian was one of the few to try and fight back. He was struck in the face with the end of a rifle for his trouble and as Julian felt the blood run from his nose he felt an odd burning sensation all over his body. The next thing Julian realized his body was covered in a flaming aura of purple energy and he was firing off flaming bolt of that energy at the uniformed men, bringing them down. From there Julian managed to escape using with newly gained powers and he tried to return to his life, which while he managed to learn how to keep his powers in check Julian found himself changed from his experience: he was now much more aggressive, more willing to become physical when dealing with people who challenged him. Needless to say it wasn‘t too long until Julian went on a rampage with his powers, lashing out at an showing of his work targeting a critic that he‘d gotten into an argument with about one of his pieces.

Fortunately both the Raven, as Callie Summers, and Captain Thunder were there for the public event and were able to deal with the chaos Julian caused lashing out with his powers. The two heroes were able to withstand his psionic powers and stop him before anyone was seriously injured.

At his trial, Julian was deemed mentally unfit to stand trial but was sent to Blackstone due to his powers where he was given treatment. He‘s not really gotten any better over the years though, Julian is a very angry man now that blames his failures on everyone else. It‘s those people he focuses his anger on as well as his powers, every time he‘s managed to get free from prison Julian lays low for awhile until he finally blows his top and goes off on a rampage. As a result now Julian, who uses the name of Mindpyre nowadays, has fought the majority of the better known heroes of Freedom City over the years.

Yes to both as far as I know.

Real Name: Robert “Rob” Shaw
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 163 lbs.
Hair: Brown
Eye Color: Blue

Complications:
Family Buisness: It was Faction’s idea for the brothers to become thieves, as a result he’s the one who does all the planning, adapts the plans as needed on the spot and keeps his younger brothers in line so they can enjoy the proceeds of their ill-gotten gains.

Family Life: Faction is the only member of the Horde that has a wife and kids. Though they have no idea what he really does as a job to support them (he’s told his wife that he’s a traveling salesman, though she is suspicious of this lie but hasn’t worked up the nerve to ask questions).

Background: Robert “Rob” Shaw is the eldest of triplets, though only by seconds, but he’s always been the leader of the brothers from a young age. He was the brains behind the scenes, using his ‘younger’ brother, Steve, as muscle in high school to bully other kids and take revenge on those he thought slighted him academically.

Like both his other brothers, Rob’s powers manifested while he was a teen and he secretly practiced with them until he had mastered them. When the triplets graduated from high school it was Rob’s idea for them to use their powers to support themselves in a life of crime as super thieves, using the sheer numbers their ability to duplicate themselves gave them as an advantage in case any hero might stumble across their crimes. Rob’s main motivation behind this was that he wanted to attend college and wasn’t able to qualify for any scholarships and was unable to come up with the needed funds any other way. He’d originally planned to only do robberies for a few years, once he’d graduated with his degree in chemistry, but by that point he’d grown to enjoy the lifestyle and sense of control he had over his siblings and found himself unable to walk away from that life.

At some point Rob met and eventually married a young woman that he fell in love with and like many young couples they had children early in their marriage (two boys, who are not twins); more motivation for Rob to continue his life of crime to support his family. His wife thinks that Rob is a chemist who travels around the country consulting on various projects but she’s started to become somewhat suspect of this story but hasn’t confronted Rob about it as she doesn‘t want to upset the balance of her family. Rob’s always been able to support them and is able to be involved with the boy’s lives. Pretty much the best father possible as well as being a good husband, she doesn’t want to chance losing that.

After several years of success the Horde, as the three brothers were named by the press, became the focus of the newly formed FORCE Ops in Freedom City. Ethan Keller’s information network had managed to finally track the triplets back to their hidden base in the old sewer system of Freedom City after almost a year’s worth of work and he sent the new team after the thieves.

What FORCE Ops found when they finally arrived on site was disturbing; someone had already beaten them there and dealt with the Horde. Dispensing a vicious beating to all three members, despite their ability to create more of themselves. Eventually it was learned that another criminal group, the Order of Chaos, had been hired by a local mob boss to take back items the Horde had stolen from his safety deposit box in their last robbery and to give them the message that nobody messes with him. In the end the Horde was taken into custody by AEGIS and were transported to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries before going to Blackstone Prison to await their trial.

Real Name: Steven “Steve” Shaw
Height: 6‘ 3”
Weight: 240 lbs.
Hair: Black
Eye Color: Blue

Complications:
Bully: Legion is your classic high school bully. He’ll make threats, insults, physically menace a person all with a smile on his face, he’s never grown past the point where treating people that way hasn’t made him feel good about himself.

Spend it quick: Legion likes to live the high life, the best clothes, cars, company to keep, goes to the best clubs. All of which costs money, and he’s not afraid to spend it so he’s always looking to make more as soon as possible.

Background: Steven “Steve” Shaw is the second oldest of triplets, but only by seconds, but he is physically the largest of the brothers. He always was the ‘muscle’ of the brothers, acting as enforcer for ‘oldest’ brother Rob and defender for ‘younger’ brother Matt, a role he found enjoyable as he seemed to possess a strength that was always greater than any other boy his age. Liking the feeling of power he gained from his antics as a teen, Steve went into law enforcement (enjoying being able to exert his personal power over those he dealt with).

He was only a few years into his career as a police officer when Rob gathered the three of them and shared his idea for the three of them to become thieves, using the powers they‘d manifested and kept secret as teens. Steve immediately agreed, liking the idea of having more money to spend that he didn’t have to earn himself, which was a large part of Rob’s plan; he needed Steve’s connections to the underworld to be able to sell the goods they stole as well as casing their future marks, as no one would suspect a local cop of being involved in such a venture.

But eventually Steve’s bad habits on the force resulted in his leaving the force under scrutiny for being ’on the take’ (which he was, but he was working with a local gang to protect their drug trade by busting their rivals). But he’d been smart enough to cover his tracks well enough that when Internal Affairs began to look into him, he was able to walk away with only a black mark against his name instead of charges being brought against him. That just left Steve with more time on his hands to devote to the ‘family business’ as it were. So when he’s not living the high life, he’s working to support that way living.

Real Name: Matt Shaw
Height: 5’8”
Weight: 150 lbs.
Hair: Reddish-Blonde
Eye Color: Blue

Complications:
Show-Off: Since Minion’s only power is his ability to create dupes of himself, he has trained in martial arts to be an equal threat like his brothers. He has a habit of showing off those skills during a fight, simply because he can.

Temper: Minion is well known for his inability to keep a cool head, he’ll get right in the face of someone who insults him and then quickly moves on to letting his hands do his talking for him.

Background: Matt Shaw is the youngest of triplets, but only by seconds, though he’s the smallest of the three physically which left him the victim of bullies despite his brother, Steve‘s, efforts to step in, Matt convinced their parents that a martial arts class would be a good thing for him and it was six months later when he dealt with one of his usual abusers that Matt made it clear he wasn‘t going to be their victim anymore.

Matt realized that he enjoyed be stronger than others despite his smaller stature and used his anger over how he had been treated to push himself, allowing him to advance in skill until he was kicked out of the local dojo years later by his teacher for bullying the other students. Matt had become like those he had sought to protect himself against; and it was around this time that the triplets’ powers first manifested. Matt was the only one who didn’t develop a secondary set of powers, though he felt that his martial skills more than made up for it.

A few years later, after the boys had graduated from high school his oldest brother, Rob, put forth the idea of the three of them becoming thieves. Matt was immediately interested, he didn’t like the idea of living a ’normal’ life; the idea of going to some nine-to-five job for a place he didn’t care about, doing work he could care less about didn’t sound all that interesting to him.

Eventually Rob came up with costumes for them and worked out their first robbery, which went well. Netting them several thousands of dollars in which they invested back into their new profession, setting up a place to ’work’ out of as well as funding their personal lives. And as time went on the brothers moved on to bigger robberies, the few times they would run across super heroes their ability to create duplicates of themselves that shared their powers and skills made them a small army (numbering in nine beings total) to deal with.

Sucks to be the guy that drew Minion as his villain name. You just know the other two are always bossing him around.

Funny enough I saw that in their personalities, it's part of the reason that Minion is the guy that's always trying to prove how much of a badass he is and it seems to blow up in his face making him look like more of a loser in his brother's eyes.

I actually have an plan to bring the Horde back eventually and actually show them talking instead of just being victims.

Real Name: Henry Rucker
Height: 6' 7"
Weight: 321 lbs
Hair: None
Eye Color: Yellow

Complications:
Temper: Becuase of his animal-like nature Salamander has a shorter than average fuse and goes off from time to time.

Weakness: Salamander is vulnerable to extreme cold temperatures as a result of his reptilian nature.

Background: Henry Rucker never really got a break his whole life; in high school he was only able to maintain a C- average, most the girls he wanted to date didn't want to be anywhere near him, his parents barely even acted like the noticed he was around or where he was going when he went out. Not that he had anyone to hang out with either, his only friend was his pet snake. Basically Henry was ignored by the world in general and he knew it and it caused him to become a very quiet and reserved person as he grew older. Never speaking to someone unless they started a conversation, which was a rare thing in itself.

When Henry finished high school and entered into the workforce he found that his poor grades only left him able to get work as a janitor at ASTRO Labs on the night shift. And while the pay was close to twice as good as any other place he could find work, Henry was still alone in his section every night but he still settled into his life and learned to be content with having so little to do with the world around him.

Four years later Henry's worldview was radically altered when VIPER broke into ASTRO Labs to steal the research and samples of a newly created chemical that was supposed to help victims of massive injuries recover faster by stimulating the dormant parts of the human brain that were evolved from our reptilian ancestors and result in increased healing. The VIPER agents blew open a hole in the wall, took Henry hostage and forced
him to lead them deeper into the building. Once VIPER had secured what they had came there for they were getting ready to make their escape when Henry made a move of his own: he tried to take the chemical back.

Now Henry didn't do it because it was the right thing to do, not at all. No, Henry did it out of fear of losing his job because he would be blamed for the VIPER agents getting into the labs and he was trying to save his own butt. Somehow Henry managed to wrestle the container free of the agent's grasp and ran away, trying to find a place to hide in hopes the
VIPER people wouldn't be able to find him. What ended up happening was one of the VIPER agents fired his blaster at Henry in an attempt to scare him into stopping and instead his aim was so bad that he hit the container, covering Henry in the chemical from head to toe. Screaming in pain as he continued to run, Henry crashed into one of the experiments.

The machine was designed to generate a constant charge of energy and between that and the chemical that Henry was covered in combined with the unstable nature of the two things caused a malfunction which resulted in an explosion with Henry being at the center. This of course forced the VIPER agents to leave the scene knowing that the FCPD would soon be there, leaving Henry for dead. But somehow he managed to survive his experience, though he was injured fairly bad: third degree burns over the majority of
his body and several fractures to different limbs. At the hospital Henry was treated for the chemical burns he suffered and he spent the majority of a week being treated, it was during that time Henry was interviewed several times by the police about the robbery. He thought he was the lead suspect but in truth the officers were simply trying to get as much information as they could. It was also during this time that Henry's body began to mutate
into a reptilian state, confusing doctors as how to treat him as the more time went by the more reptile-like Henry became: growing in size, the addition of a tail and scales that covered his body from top to bottom. There was also evidence of Henry's personality being affected as well; his old personality that was quiet and meek was slowly becoming more direct and confrontational. By the end of the week Henry's personality and body had
completely transformed and he escaped from the hospital in the middle of the night, by breaking out his window and leaping to the ground six stories below, and went into hiding.

He hid himself in the sewer tunnels under Freedom City, coming out at night only to feed or protect himself from threats perceived as the police began to search for Henry thinking he was involved in the attempted theft. Eventually he ran afoul of Pseudo of the Freedom League, who by clever use of his racial ability to change shape made himself immune to the flames Henry was able to project and brought him in to be studied by scientists at the Albright Institute. What they learned is that Henry's old personality has been warped by his experience that empowered him and triggered the release of all the anger he internalized over the slights he suffered in his lifetime. Now he's Salamander, a being who will no longer be ignored and will do as he pleases whenever he wants, no matter who is in his way. Before Salamander could be transferred to Blackstone to be held for his trial, he managed to escape and despite efforts by the police and Pseudo he has remained free.

I'm liking this whole thread. Nice to see some conversions of some Freedom City characters (especially the one who haven't been updated to 3rd Ed.). While I don't recognize everyone, all the builds look good so far.
