Having nothing to do at the moment I thought I'd type up some of the episodes from my game - FC Sentinels. It is set in the Freedom City Universe, and I occassionally use Meta-4/Arcadia villians. Before I do that I had better introduce the characters. So here goes:
1) Effigy (shape changing super spy) - James Reynard's been around a while (1930s); whilst he resembles an army private who went missing in World War 1, he has no recollection of anything prior to 1930. He got involved with the FBI and CIA and worked for a while with these agencies. As more super humans emerged he assisted with the creation of a team known as the Protectorate. In 1993 the Protectorate discovered that a high ranking government official had been replaced by a Unitrol agent. Before they could do anything about this the team were attacked and wiped out. Effigy was the only survivor and he went into hiding, sure that he was still a target. Effigy's knowledge of tactics, supers and his ability to be anyone make him an excellent leader. He has some simple rules (often shouted repeatedly during combat): "No killing, minimal property damage and watch out for civilians."
2) Supernova (Cosmically powered homeless person) - Julian Andrews is unusual. He was chosen to be the living cell for one of the galaxy's most evil villians - the Reaper. The consciousness of the Reaper was shunted into Julian's; an event that caused both Julian and the Reaper to lose their minds and memories. Supernova frequently experiences flashbacks of both lives, but can't fit them into any coherent pattern. His powers activate when he senses evil. It seems that those who imprisoned the Reaper intend him to balance the scales by mking him a superhero on earth. Amnesiac, illiterate and occassionally whacked out of his head on drugs, Supernova remains the team's big gun.
3) Technomancer (mystic gadgeteer) - Whilst unpacking some exhibits at the Hunter Museum of Natural History, Brad Wilcox discovered a book. On reading it, he found that it was the lost Tome of Leonardo da Vinci. He read it and discovered that it gave him the ability to craft a variety of useful items. While playing with some of the things that he made the museum was attacked by the Cult of Set. Armed with a blunderbuss, a fedora and a nifty looking vest, Brad took them on and beat them. Heartened by this he decided to use his powers to make the world a better place and protect art and history from philistines as the Technomancer.
4) Argonaut (telekinetic telepath) - On an archeological dig in Greece, Paul Johnson (student) discovered a helm. He put it on and was overwhelmed by memories that were not his. He disappeared from the dig that day and did not return for three weeks. During this time he learnt about the helm and the powers ot gave him. He returned to the dig to discover that everyone had vanished. The information in the helm suggested that the key was in Freedom City so off he went, stopping in Serbia to prevent a coup along the way.
5) Amped (Fast Brick who plays mean bass) - Jonathon Laremson was the son of a Meta-4 agent. His mum and he always worried when Dad was on a job. One day, Dad didn't come back. Jon and his mum managed to deal with this and moved on. Jon went to Uni and studied music, eventually forming a band (Dingoes ate my Baby). He discovered that he was superstrong when playing a key bass riff and broke his guitar. Being a relaxed muso type, he didn't want to be a hero. Unfortunately fate had other plans.
6) Mars (Hot-tempered Fire wielding hippie chick) - Alyssa Cragstone wanted understanding from her parents, but didn't get it.One day, early in puberty she lost her temper and her house caught on fire. Her parents sent her to the Claremont academy for her own good. Alyssa sees this as a betrayal and has limited contact with her family. She likes to fly, throw fireballs and hates anyone telling her to "chill."
7) Excell (Speedster) - Mark Thompson was the son of a superhero (SpeedAce). His father died in the Terminus invasion and, whilst mark wants to follow his father footsteps, he doesn't want his mum to know. And, in addition, he has to finish high school. He has hooked up with professor at Freedom City Uni, who acts as a mentor to him. He has recently begun to get buzzed by a speedster who looks like his dad and who knows EVERYTHING about him. This has him worried.
