Complications:
Disability: Flow has poor distance vision (and cannot make Perception checks past 20 ft).

Hatred: Flow cannot stand bullies of any kind.

Quirk: Flows wants to know where he came from and will make deals with those who might offer him such information.

Temper: Flow has something of a short fuse and can really go off on a person periodically.

Unlucky: Things just don’t seem to go Flow’s way sometimes (he retreats down a dead-end alley, or tries to hide himself inside a tanker truck that happens to be filled with liquid coolant).

Weakness: Flow suffers a Weaken Effect on his physical Abilities (-1 per round) he is exposed to intense cold.

Background: In the fall of 2002, a small team of geologists was exploring an Arkansas pine forest after local residents reported a small meteor shower in the area. After more than two days of fruitless searching, Kurt McColl, one of the grad students involved, finally came across a charred black rock sitting at the bottom of a small crater. When he climbed down for a closer look, the rock split into two pieces with a snap that sounded like a gunshot. From the hollow center a purple, gooey liquid flowed onto the needle-covered dirt. As the young geologist looked on in amazement, the puddle of purple goo began to stir and bubble, and then to shift and grow. Before his eyes the liquid bubbled up into a column some eight feet high, then slowly coalesced into a vaguely humanoid shape. McColl finally regained his composure and turned to call for his compatriots to come see this amazing find, but when he turned back the large purple being reached out and touched his forehead. When the other geologists finally arrived, they found McColl lying unconscious in the crater next to the broken meteor, in a coma he would never recover from.

That’s where Flow’s awareness began — racing through the forest at night with the memories of a human male named Kurt implanted in his head. When he finally stopped running, he was near Little Rock, where he smashed up a restaurant and a liquor store, then took on some state troopers and finally ran away before AEGIS agents arrived. He fell in with a gang of bikers outside Memphis for a little while, but eventually got angry at some of them and smashed up the barn they were all living in. After that Flow set out on the road again and wound up in Arcadia, where Amnesia tracked him down while the Cirque was in town and invited him to join the team. Lacking any other place to go and wanting to fit in somewhere, Flow accepted the offer and has worked with the Cirque Sinister ever since.

I'm going to say probably not. Mostly because I have no idea who that is.
Kunoichi is a term that translates (in a round about way) to "female ninja".
So she's just asking if any of the female ninjas in the MK setting will be joining their male counterparts.

Real Name: A-22 (not that she knows it, just goes by Minimax)
Height: 5’ 3”
Weight: 103 lbs
Hair: Blonde
Eye Color: Blue

Complications:
Temper: Minimax can become enraged if someone interferes with or damages her “art”.

Quirk: Minimax wants all of her crimes to be a kind of “Performance Art”.

Reputation: Minimax is known to be a casual killer, if it suits her purpose then she will do it without batting an eyelash.

Weakness: As a result of all the treatments and experiments that were done to her at such a young age, Minimax Fortitude Saves against Drugs/Gases/Chemicals/ Poisons is halved.

Background: Minimax’s mother was a teenage runaway who was living on the streets of Dallas when she became pregnant, knowing that she couldn’t possibly care for the child she placed her little girl with Foster Services for adoption. But an unscrupulous pediatrician manipulated the paperwork so the infant was sent to the secret labs of Peter Franks. He performed several experiments on the baby, exposing it to various chemicals and forms of radiation in an attempt to further perfect the DNAscendent process.

Under his “care,” Infant A-22 aged at a remarkable rate. Within five years she appeared to be a young adult and had developed the superhuman ability to change the size of non-living objects. Curious to see how a child, raised as A-22 had been, would cope in society Franks arranged for A-22 to slip out a back of the lab during "a lab accident" and onto the world for the first time in her life.

Fortunately, A-22 was a remarkably quick learner and adapted to her strange new environment very quickly. She took the name Minimax, and at first used her powers only for small crimes to keep herself fed and clothed while she wandered across the United States. But as the weeks and months wore on, her fragile mental balance began to deteriorate and her crimes became more random, violent, and pointless. While hanging out in a bus station in Mobile she read a magazine article about an artist who performed various surreal acts in public to illustrate “the absurdity of life.” Minimax could certainly relate to that idea, and in her addled mental state she decided that was also her purpose in life. She was meant to be an artist, and her “art” would be crimes of randomness, vandal acts, meaningless murder, and haphazard destruction, so people would come to understand how pointless and strange reality really was.

Eventually Minimax met Cauldron, and he fell in love with her, and while she doesn’t return his affections she does like his company and enjoys both his bizarre appearance as well as his propensity for violence. The two traveled together for about a year until they met Amnesia and became part of a “supervillain team.” It was Minimax who named them the Cirque Sinister, and her penchant for the surreal colors many of their exploits.

Ah, I see.

Maybe later on after I've introduced the first crop.

Real Name: Bobby Holmes
Height: 5’ 7”
Weight: 130 lbs
Hair: Brown
Eye Color: Blue

Complications:
Juvenile Delinquent: Pennsylvania Child Protection Services are actively looking for Bobby.

Motivation: Bobby is starting to enjoy being a “super villain” for the thrills he gets to experience.

Responsibility: To his sister Briana (Amnesia).

Background: Bobby Holmes was born in 1997, and from his earliest days his only happy memories were of time spent with his sister Brianna. Their parents were distant, frequently drunk, and occasionally abusive, and when the yelling got bad he could always hide out in her room. Even if she couldn’t protect him, she at least could comfort him, and he loved her a great deal. Then, when he was ten, Briana ran away and Bobby was left to bear the brunt of his parents’ anger alone. His parents forbade him to even mention her name. Bobby began spending as much time as he could out of the house.

His own mutation manifested itself the day before his thirteenth birthday. Bobby was hanging out down by one of the abandoned factories when a gang of older boys began harassing him. Suddenly, an indistinct, enormous form appeared beside Bobby and began tossing the kids around, slamming one into a brick wall so hard that he suffered some serious internal injuries. Bobby, terrified, tried to make the giant stop, but it continued to rage around the neighborhood, smashing buildings and overturning cars. Several policemen attempted to stop the creature, but it crushed their cruiser with its giant fists.

Eventually, a team of AEGIS agents arrived, and while most of the team tried to subdue the creature, one bright agent noticed the small boy crying and screaming in a nearby alleyway. When he grabbed Bobby, the giant turned to attack him. As he dodged out of the way, he yelled for someone to tranquilize the boy. After another agent set off a knockout gas canister near him, the mysterious, translucent giant faded from view.

The authorities took Bobby to a Philadelphia hospital while several doctors and specialists from Albright Institute were called in. They tried contacting his parents, but his mother was nowhere to be found and his dad was spending the weekend in jail after a fight in a bar. Meanwhile, the bustling doctors and nurses kept attaching wires to his head and taking readings of something. Bobby was terrified, and fervently wished his big sister was there to take care of him. As he drifted off into sleep, he dreamed that he spoke to Briana, and asked her to come find him. Bobby was as startled as anyone else when a team of costumed supervillains, his sister among them, broke into the hospital the next day and spirited him away.

Now Bobby lives in the abandoned asylum at the edge of the swamp with his sister and her bizarre friends. It’s a strange life, but exciting — he’s traveled around with the team, learning to control his “friend” (as Briana calls it) and even occasionally helping them with their crazy plans. Bobby didn’t exactly plan to become a supervillain, but if that’s what it takes to stay with his big sister, well, it beats going home.....

I added the Mortal Kombat ninjas purely on a lark, I was wanting to add the Cult of the Red Banner into the setting (I mean Dr. Sin can't have the monopoly on ninjas in the FC setting right?) and was thinking that their members would be "super-ninja" with all those kool martial arts style powers and stumbled across the Mortal Kombat wiki and well you've seen the results.
I think Celt is mostly referring to Jade and Kitana intriduced in MKII.

Real Name: Sarah Benton
Height: 5' 5"
Weight: 134 lbs
Hair: Black
Eye Color: Hazel

Complications:
Motivation ~Knowledge: Gyre seeks to gain as much magical knowledge as she possibly can, so that she can recreate that first spell she casted that allowed to see the universe (and perhaps alter it) as only God could.

Power Loss: Gyre loses access to her Technomancy Array if she is unable to speak her verbal components or doesn’t have access to her custom made rings.

Background: Sarah Benton knew her parents were different, though they wouldn’t admit it. Her father’s study held many leather-bound books in foreign languages. Other daddies didn’t have books like that, or a locked and soundproofed basement. Other mommies didn’t plant and harvest herbs by the phases of the moon, or sculpt little clay statues that vanished into the locked room and never came out again. Sarah’s mother told her not to talk about such things; she’d learn all about it when she was older.

Instead of public high school, Sarah’s parents sent her to a Catholic school that taught Latin and Greek — although the family wasn’t Catholic. As a teenager, Sarah became interested in physics, while her parent’s eccentricities became just one more reason for adolescent embarrassment. When Sarah graduated (a year early) and obtained a full scholarship to a prominent university, she told her parents they could keep their secrets; she didn’t care. Her parents died in a car crash while Sarah was working on her doctoral dissertation. She inherited the house, the key to the locked room, and a letter asking her to carry on their work as ritual magicians with a group called 'the Lodge'. Clearly, her parents had been complete lunatics but Sarah felt enough curiosity to read a few of the old books and her parents’ diaries before she threw them out. She read of planetary spirits and an astral influence, several of Lazlo’s published works as well as the Kabbalah. It made an odd kind of sense to her... actually, some of this superstition had parallels in math and physics... if she used symbolic logic to cut through the archaic jargon and the contradictions....

A few months later, Sarah abandoned her dissertation. The occult concealed a strange and misunderstood science. If she could lay it bare, she would go down in history with Newton and Einstein! She raided the library for more mystic lore. The spinning of the astral spheres — Penrose’s twistor theory — the I Ching as a binary logic system for computation — Yes, she was close! She cut off her friends and lived on pizza deliveries and coffee. She worked until she collapsed from exhaustion, and then began again when she woke up.

The veil parted at last. Sarah chanted strange words for hours as she filled legal pads with diagrams that twisted into the fourth and fifth dimensions before her blurring eyesight, and for one shining, shattering moment, she knew. She saw the wheels of Ezekiel’s vision, and knew them for the spinning of protons and galaxies. She understood the cycle of creation and destruction, and the path from spirit to matter and back again. She knew God’s own equations for making universes.

Then the moment passed as Sarah passed out as a result of fatigue. When she woke up a day later she tried to remember that moment of perfect clarity and found that she couldn’t. Her notes held little more than mere fragments of theories and procedures, which made Sarah weep as she realized that she had lost God’s equations. It wasn't until Sarah rested more that she realized just how much she did actually remember - spinning circles and spirals held the key for her. Power moved in gyres and vortices; in and out, around and about.

Sarah carefully drew a diagram, spoke a mathmatic formula, then laughed as a whirlwind of power erupted from the paper and blasted through her ceiling. Her upstairs neighbor was not so happy however and he screamed at Sarah, but he didn’t matter. She held up the paper, said the word again, and he went away. By the time the police came Sarah had gone away too, to look for more books to learn from. When the police finally did get in contact with her, Sarah claimed not to know what had destroyed the apartments, forcing the police to blame the incident on a crazed supervillain whose identity unknown.

Sarah decided to call herself Gyre and has finished her dissertation, realizing that she needs to maintain her "normal life" and now goes through the motions of post-doc research at Bay City University — but she has more important work to do now and is becoming a well known criminal in her persuit of knowledge.

Technomancy Tools: These are just a sample of some of the items that Gyre has built during her criminal career so far and can act as a guide for other artifacts she might create.

Accelerator Watch: This talisman began as a stopwatch, but Gyre replaced the numbers with mystic glyphs. When Gyre presses the button on the watch, its hands circle rapidly, in opposite directions. For the minute of the watch’s operation, Gyre acts twice as quickly.

[Accelerator Watch: (Removable –1 pt) [10 pp] (Flaw: Limited [10 rounds max])
Enhanced Advantage 2 [Improved Initiative 2]
Quickness 5
Speed 5]

Spacebreaker Grenade: This fist-sized glass ball is bound in steel rings and bears symbols painted in glowing radium ink. When Gyre recites an equation and throws the ball, it flies with great speed to the desired location, teleporting past obstacles, to explode in a burst of warped space that leaves tiny fissures in everything caught in the blast. Gyre uses this to destroy objects in supposedly secure locations. Of course, she still needs some way to see her target.

[Spacebreaker Grenade: (Removable –10 pts) [41 pp]
Ranged Weaken Toughness 8 & Ranged Damage 10 (Extra: Penetrating); (Feat: Homing 5)]

Street Gate: Gyre places batteries and special coils of silver wire around a five-way intersection, then uses Twist Through Dimensions. The resulting Gate to another dimension stays open for six hours, or until someone disturbs the batteries. The Gate is not very large — just big enough for one person at a time to pass through. Gyre lacks sufficient knowledge of the Multiverse to open these Gates reliably; but she doesn’t much care, as long as she learns something from the experiment.

[Street Gate: (Removable –3 pts) [13 pp]
Movement 3 [Dimensional 3] (Extras: Portal); (Feat: Increased Mass 5 [1600 lbs]); (Flaws: Quirk [Stands open for 6 hours, then closes]) ]

Real Name: Piotr Gregov
Height: 8'
Weight: 883 lbs
Hair: Unknown
Eye Color: Green

Complicaitons:
Arrogance: Because of Czar's great power, his overconfidence can be his downfall at times.

Honor: The Czar always keeps his word.

Monstrous Appearance: The Czar rarely removes his mask due to the facial disfigurement he has.

Motivation: The Czar never stops wanting power for the Burning Protectorate.

Responsibility: As ruler of the Burning Protectorate, he has a responsibility to his people.

Background: The Czar was once the hero Bogatyr, a Soviet Union soldier named Piotr Gregov, whose powers manifested as a result of experiements done by Soviet scientists trying to create a Russian equivalent to America's Centurion. While Bogatyr was powerful he wasn't in Centurion's class by any means, though thanks to his military training combined with his impressive energy manipulating abilities he was considered to be among the top five most powerful metamen of his time.

For several decades Bogatyr protected the people of the Soviet Union from various threats, both natural and those percieved by his superiors in the government, and he followed orders like the good soldier that he was. Though sometimes he wondered why his overseers didn't simply allow him to deal with his foreign counterparts for good to simply prove the superiority of the Soviet Union over their rivals. Due to his impressive powers and handsomeness Bogatyr was the poster hero of the Soviet Union, even when Protonik made his debut, Gregov was considered to be the "Hero of the People" thanks to his handlers making sure he recieved the best publicity over Protonik.

On April 26, 1986 the Chernobyl disater happened and Bogatyr was deployed to avert a nuclear catastrophy. Using his cosmic powers, Bogatry was able to contain the imminent meltdown and allow many of those working at the plant to get to saftey. But while Bogatyr struggled in the underground facility, officials bickered back and forth behind closed doors as they feared the worst outcomeand rashly decided to have the site buried under the steel and reinforced concrete of the facility. Gregov was entombed within the contaminated facility and was thought lost to the disaster. The Soviet Government had that date declared as a National Holiday in honor of the man who’d given his life for his fellow countrymen. Unfortunately Bogatyr had managed to somehow survive but was buried under the rubble and seethed over what he saw as the ultimate betrayal. For several years Bogatyr would become twisted, both in mind and body, transformed by strange interactions between his cosmic powers and the nuclear materials he’d been buried alive with.

Several years later Ukrainian military forces were deployed to the reactor site to investigate strange energy patterns scientists were detecting. Gregor had finally managed to break free from the remains of his prison and return topside, but he was a twisted shadow of his former himself, with parts of his body seemingly metallic by some unknown means in an exaggeration of human anatomy. His first words were to declare himself Czar of all he saw. When the military resisted, he destroyed many of them with a show of his increased powers and the remainder capitulated to Gregor’s power and became what is now known as the Stellar Guard. The Czar’s main goal was to take over the former Soviet Union and use it as the first step in his plan to dominate the world. The CIS wasted no time in mobilizing the Winter Guard against this threat to the land and it’s people.

With his newly founded army the Czar managed to cut a wide and savage path that laid waste to most of the Ukraine as it was conquered before moving on to its southern neighbor, Moldova. During this time the Czar’s army increased in size and armament as the Stellar Guard absorbed the survivors of their fights and adding various vehicles and large scale weapons, including nuclear weapons thanks to Guard’s raiding of old, hidden Soviet storage locations that Czar knew of due to his former high-level military clearances. By the time the Winter Guard, with the help of both the Freedom League and the Sentinels, managed to halt the Czar’s efforts most of Moldova was little more than a radioactive wasteland (thanks largely to new aspects of Gregov’s improved and increased powers) and the Czar had managed to literally raise a fortified stronghold from the ground in the central region of the Ukraine, near where he’d been entombed, which the gathering of heroes were unable to break into. The Czar renamed his new land Burning Protectorate, a sovereign nation within the former Soviet Union and began establishing his rule over the people within his domain.

In the years since then the Burning Protectorate (which is basically the Ukraine and Moldova combined) hasn’t improved all that much; it is a hellish wreck to put it nicely. The majority of the larger towns of old Moldova are little more than bombed out wastelands that are filled with various mutated plant life (to the point that some of it will attack people) while various mutated animals roam the land (and the less said about them the better).

What few realize is that much of the Burning Protectorate’s reputation is a total fabrication – the Czar simply wishes to rule the land he created as he sees fit. Not that he isn’t trying to take over the world or anything like that, he does have several plans at various stages to complete that goal, but he does take care of his people but there is no question as to who is in charge of the Protectorate. Most of the former Moldova is a wasteland thanks to the original fighting that happened all those years ago but divider walls have been raised, on both sides specifically, to insulate the rest of the Protectorate, and the surrounding countries, from the creatures that wonder the mutated landscape. And yes there are those who actually live in the fringes of the Protectorate; scattered citizens of the Protectorate that try to survive in the radioactive land. Of course given the amounts radiation that pollute the ground most of these people die slow, painful deaths after years of body twisting mutations (both genetically passed on from their parents as well as new ones gained from exposure to the environment) in addition to mutated flora and flauna.

Because of all the increased levels of radiation in the Protectorate there are super powered citizens; most are hideous disfigurements and lethal mutations but there are those who gain powers that aren't killed by them or are treatable by medical procedures created by doctors of the Protectorate. These mene and women are drafted into the Burning Legion, the Czar's private metamen army (though army is a bit misleading as there are just over a dozen members and so far the Czar has never deployed all of them at any given time, specifically to keep other countries from becoming even more alarmed about the Protectorate's forces and to act as a surprise for those who do attempt to invade it from time to time [not that those people have been able to return home and share this knowledge]). The Czar uses them as a strikeforce, sending them out to enact parts of his various plans and to lash out at those he previeves as threats and those who have insulted him (both from his past and since his return). For now the Czar is content to stay within the established borders of the Protectorate, plotting his eventual take over of the first the former USSR, then Europe, then the world.

The Star Guard:

The Star Guard is a group of beings, each possessing unique abilities and skills that set them apart from their individual races, from throughout the Lor Republic who act as enforcers of Republic law throughout Republic member systems. They also serve as the personal guard of the Supreme Praetor, the highest ranking member of the Senate, and carries out his/her personal directives. The Guard are also considered to be a special unit within the Republic’s military, performing special and dangerous missions that normal soldiers are unlikely to be able to accomplish and they also aid the governors of conquered worlds in enforcing Republic law.

The formation of the Star Guard is a new project of the Supreme Praetor, recognizing the efforts of the likes of the Freedom League in that a group of uniquely skilled beings might be able to perform better than their standard soldiers. It took several years for the Star Guard to be brought together as the Supreme Praetor was looking for truely unique and different beings to be part of the Guard and thus they have yet to face off against other super-powered beings. So far most of their efforts have been more in line with their military duties (which means that so far they've been dealing with Grue spies and attacks, not that any of that isn't challenging in it's own right).

Gyre is another one of those characters I found among some of the Champions books I've picked up here lately. I liked the idea of the character and transfering her over to M&M 3e wasn't all that difficult, and honestly I've been trying to fiugre out how to build a technomancer for the setting. It's a concept I like and felt needed to be represented but can be tricky to be done right, and to be honest Gyre is a well done character.

I love the concept behind her. ht e notion that shes seen the great machine, the wheels and cogs of the cosmos and all reality. Its a fascnating one this notion of heaven and all reality being in compariosn to an ancient and complex device of extraorfianry compelxity and that if you understand how the various pieces fit together you can control it.

Mathematicians and scientists for centuries have come closest to this.

Also love the star guard very fun.

Tiger Squad

Post by Tattooedman » Thu Nov 29, 2012 8:35 am

Tiger Squad:

The Tiger Squad was organized and founded by the Chinese Communist government in the early 1960s as a group of assassins and spies for the government of the People's Republic of China. For several years it remained little more than an elite unit of human operatives until the late 1970s, when it and it's patrons fell out of favor and the group was purged. In 1976 the Squad was reborn as the offical super team of the Chinese Government. Although many of it's original members were nothing more than highly trained martial artists it has gained metamen members and slowly grew to become one of the largest group of metamen teams active in the world. Over the years, and through various ups and downs with it's government handlers and political stances, Tiger Squad has managed to survive.

Among their duties is dealing with the efforts of Doctor Sin and his most powerful rivial - Doctor Yin Wu, Li Chun the Destroyer, a monk possessed by a Chinese demon, as well as gangsters and other crooks in the streets of Shanghai and Peking, and help to deal with natural catastrophes and similar problems all over the country. In addition to that the members of Tiger Squad make appearances all across the country (public appearences in groups as well as solos peroidically), supporting the government's views and goals (even though many members do not completely agree with them).

Within any organization as large as the Tiger Squad, comprised of people with extraordinarily stressful occupations (and often-large egos and very different personal beliefs) there are personality conflicts and similar problems. In general the members of the Tiger Squad are united in their desire to protect, preserve, and improve China, they often differ on the best ways to accomplish these goals. Publicly they maintain a facade of full support for the government, and the truth is that if push came to shove the government could force any single member to do whatever it wanted (truly loyal Squad members and threats against the recalcitrant hero’s family being its main tools here). But privately, there’s a serious split within the group among heroes who are (at least relatively) staunch supports of the Communist regime, and those who are more pro-democracy. About forty percent of the team falls into the latter camp, while about fifteen percent are hard-line, unwavering supporters of the Communist government, and the rest favor the government but with views that span the spectrum of moderate opinion. While these differences aren’t enough to cause any sort of split within the Squad (even if that were possible), it creates tension and sometimes leads to arguments. These issues are minimized in the Squad by transferring members between field teams, so that members with similar outlooks are working together and less likely to disagree with one another.

The member of Tiger Squad are among the more popular celebrities in China; some of the best-known, such as Summer Cloud and Luan, rank right up there with the most famous movie and music stars. Some in the government see this as a potential threat (the way Mao did decades ago), but calmer heads continue to point out that none of the Squad’s members have so much as expressed interest in getting directly involved in politics and are more focused on saving lives and doing good.

Due to its size and constantly fluctuating membership, which currently numbers at over three dozen, the Tiger Squad trains constantly to ensure that its members work together well, are aware of one another’s capabilities, and know how to handle themselves in any sort of crisis situation. Typically the members are organized into “cadres” of four to seven heroes who serve as its main tactical field units, though the government may re-organize cadres as needed to deal with specific threats. A cadre is usually assigned to a specific city or region as its dedicated protectors. All Tiger Squad members receive a Squad Communicator device which is usually an unobtrusively in design and is either worn on the wrist or ear or built into a costume’s sleeve.

Complications:
Issues With Co-Workers: Accomplished Perfect Physician has a tense relationship with August General in Iron, while they can work together neither man likes the other and they often times avoid one another if not assigned to the same team for a mission.

Power Loss: Accomplished Perfect Physician loses all of his powers when he is unable to make vocal sounds.

Secret: Tiger Squad is actually ran by the Chinese government and military instead of the actual members.

Secret Identity: Accomplished Perfect Physician's identity as Yao Fei isn’t known to the public.

Background: Yao Fei was born a peasant in the Anhui Province where he had dreams of becoming a doctor but lacked the money for medical school, so he enlisted in the army instead to get the training he needed. When his unit was sent to suppress an uprising in Gyantse Tibet, Yao killed a monk named Tenzin Cering. Horrified at what he'd done, he deserted his unit and was shot in the back by his commanding officer.

When he woke up Yao learned that he’d been saved by a local medicine man who told Yao that his son, Tenzin, was supposed to be the seventeenth man to hold the position of the "Accomplished Perfect Physician" but since Tenzin was now dead because of Yao’s actions that meant that Yao would have to take his place. Tenzin then tossed Yao through a magical portal, wherein he was filled with the memories and powers of the past Physicians. The experience both humbled him and instilled in him a desire to atone for his misdeed and he set off to use his newfound abilities for the people of China.

As the new Accomplished Perfect Physician, Yao was branded an outlaw and an enemy of the state for several years before he brokered a deal with the government that would see him join Tiger Squad in return for all the records of his past crimes purged by the government.

With simple vocal sounds, the Accomplished Perfect Physician can produce a variety of magical effects, such as physical or mental paralysis, force fields, the redirection of energies, healing, destruction of matter, and earthquakes. The diplomat of the team, the Physician appears to be a collected individual with well-developed people skills. He does not get along well with his team leader, August General in Iron, who sees Yao only as an irreverent deserter.

Complications:
Issues With Co-Workers: August General in Iron has a tense relationship with Accomplished Perfect Physician, while they can work together neither man likes the other and they often times avoid one another if not assigned to the same team for a mission.

Reputation ~Will Cross Any Line: August General in Iron is willing to use any means necessary to accomplish his missions, bring back his people safely, and protect the Republic of China.

Responsibility: August General in Iron believes that it is his duty to protect the people of China no matter what.

Secret: Tiger Squad is actually ran by the Chinese government and military instead of the actual members.

Secret Identity: August General in Iron's identity as Fang Zhifu isn’t known to the public.

Weakness: Due to his Biometal skin, August General in Iron is vulnerable to magnetic based attacks.

Background: Fang Zhifu is a former member of one of China’s Special Ops units and was trained to handle the most extreme possible situations possible. Fifteen years ago, his unit was sent to investigate what turned out to be a Grue ship that crashed in Qinghai province. The Grue wiped out his unit with a flesh-melting pathogen weapon, which Fang barely survived by injecting himself with a counter-agent that slowed the degeneration. Chinese scientists subjected him to special treatments which saved his life, but also endowed him with superhuman strength and caused his skin to grow iron-like plates. He was then recruited into China's new metahuman division Tiger Squad, where he was then supplied with a staff that can easily slice through metal either by charging the weapon’s ends or unleashing a bolt of energy.

August General in Iron is considered to be the prime field leader of Tiger Squad (meaning that he is the highest ranking of all those who act as field leaders and the others are to follow his orders) and he is accountable for all command decisions made in the field by the government overseers that supervise Tiger Squad. As a lifelong soldier, August General despises the Accomplished Perfect Physician for his irreverent attitude and for deserting the army which can makes things tense between the two men from time to time.

Real Name: Chan Ho
Height: 5’9”
Weight: Unknown
Hair: Black
Eye Color: Unknown

Complications:
Disability: It's self-imposed, but to make things more challenging for himself, Best Tiger wears a blindfold all the time even though he can actually see.

Motivation: Protecting his China and proving to everyone that he is the Best Tiger.

Power Loss: Best Tiger loses his Gun Fu without guns to use or if he runs out of ammo.

Secret: Tiger Squad is actually ran by the Chinese government and military instead of the actual members.

Secret Identity: Best Tiger's identity isn’t known to the public.

Background: Chan Ho was the only survivor of his family's (his parents and siblings) deaths at the hands of the Triad to prevent his father from testifying about witnessing a mid-ranking member of the Triad killing a rival. Chan survived because he'd snuck out earlier in the evening to go out with his friends only to return home and find his family slaughtered.

Vowing revenge at the graves of his family, Chan became a criminal using a different name so he could work his way into the Triad to find who was responsible for murdering his family. Over the years he developed a large set of skills that allowed him to move higher and higher in the Triad organization until he was chosen to become an elite enforcer; it was there that Chan developed his impressive combat skills, both martial and with a gun, and that he learned that his teacher was the man responsible for killing his family.

After learning all the man had to teach him, Chan turned his skills against the older man finally gaining his revenge. After that he used money he'd stolen from the Triad over the years working for them to set up his war against crime, deciding that to use the skills he'd learned to ensure that no one else would have to suffer a loss like his at the hands of criminals. Calling himself Best Tiger, Chan waged a one-man war against not only the Triad but all criminals operating in Hong Kong and within five years was a feared man amongst the criminal underworld.

The Chinese Government spent over a year tracking Best Tiger down and forced him to become part of Tiger Squad; otherwise they would send him to jail where he would be unable to pursue his quest. Deciding to take advantage of being backed by the Government, Best Tiger agreed without argument and during the first few months of joining Tiger Squad he learned many of their secrets (both of the group and their government handlers) which he then used to blackmail his overseers into allowing him to resume his efforts against criminals in Hong Kong (the vast majority of the other members of Tiger Squad are unaware of how Best Tiger managed to achieve this; only Accomplished Perfect Physician and August General in Iron know the whole story).

As a result Best Tiger doesn't perform much of the public relations work that the other members of Tiger Squad do, and he is thought by the public to be a pretender placed on the group by the Government. Which Best Tiger is happy to allow his opponents to think; after all, what better place to hide himself than in plain sight?

Complications:
Seven Brothers: There are times when the goals and ambitions of one or more of the Seven Deadly Brothers are at odds with the rest.

Secret: Tiger Squad is actually ran by the Chinese government and military instead of the actual members.

Secret(s): His true history and the fact he is immortal.

Secret Identity: Seven Deadly Brothers' identity as Yan Kei-Ying isn't known to the public.

Violence Is The Answer: Seven Deadly Brothers always tries to use his fists (or feet sometimes) as the answer to every problem he encounters.

Background: Yang Kei-Ying, who is known as the Seven Deadly Brothers, was born in poverty in the Fujian Province over 300 years ago. He was a soldier in service to Emperor Yongzheng in 1723, and took part in the destruction of one of several Shaolin Temples. One of the grandmasters, Bak Mei, defected to the Emperor and helped destroy the second temple. Yang was impressed with Bak Mei's skill and wanted to learn kung fu himself, but Bak Mei laughed at him and thought him unpromising when he approached the grandmaster asking to be taken on as his student.

Yang then deserted the army, heading. to the school of the Seven Scribes of the Cloudy Satchel, seven Taoist sorcerers in the mountains near Song Shan. Yang begged to become a pupil and fed the sorcerers all manner of excuses and lies for all the misdeeds of his past, but the sorcerers saw through him and placed a curse on him as punishment for his evil actions. They placed within him seven lifetimes worth of knowledge of kung-fu, which resulted in Yang gaining the ability to split off six duplicates of himself; in total each one is a grandmaster of one of the seven schools (Crane, Dragon, Eagle Claw, Leopard, Praying Mantis, Snake, & Tiger) and said that he would not die until he had atoned seven times for every life he took while being a soldier. The sorcerers also placed a lust for violence large enough for all seven Yangs then sent him back to slaughter Bak Mei and the soldiers who had destroyed the Shaolin temples. Centuries later, he was discovered by the Chinese government and recruited into Tiger Squad, forcing Yang to fabricate his origin; claiming that he received his powers from an old mystic whom he saved from a beating.

Doesn’t Speak The Language: The Shaolin Robot is only capable of speaking in I-Ching and to date only Accomplished Perfect Physician is able to understand what it is saying.

Not Of This Century: The Shaolin Robot was originally built centuries ago and has only been activated within the last ten years, as a result it does not fully understand many of the societal habits and customs of people.

Secret: Tiger Squad is actually ran by the Chinese government and military instead of the actual members.

Background: When the First Emperor of China commissioned the construction of his tomb, a brilliant engineer by the name of Lao Yuqi built a hundred clockwork automatons to serve as tomb guards. The vain and jealous emperor ordered that Lao be entombed with him upon his death so that his genius would never serve another patron. Before dying of thirst, Lao reprogrammed one of the automatons with his own insights, values and priorities and gave it a semblance of free will.

Thousands of years later, when the tomb was uncovered by archaeologists, the automatons went on a rampage in an attempt to topple the Communist government and restore imperial rule except for the one reprogrammed by Lao; that automaton tried to fight against the others despite being greatly outnumbered. When Tiger Squad appeared on the scene they quickly deduced the difference in Lao’s automation and together they defeated the rampaging automations.

Taken back to the Chinese government, who decided to place it within Tiger Squad (so they could keep tabs on it and to make sure this was not some kind of ruse) and given the name Shaolin Robot. Eventually the automation was finally able to communicate thanks to the efforts of Accomplished Perfect Physician and Best Tiger while government scientists upgraded it with Grue technology to replace its archaic weapons once its loyalties were proven.

Real Name: Xu Tao

Weight: 181 lbs
Hair: Black
Eye Color: Brown

Complications:
Loyalty To The Old Gods: Celestial Archer has been tasked by the old gods to remind the people of them, thus increasing the number of worshippers they have and increasing their power.

Secret: Tiger Squad is actually ran by the Chinese government and military instead of the actual members.

Secret Identity: Celestial Archer's identity as Xu Tao isn't known to the public.

Background: As a teenager, Xu Tao sold souvenirs at the foot of Mount Tai but after his father’s business was shut down y corrupt police, he joined a gang to support his family. He was not a good thief, however, and a botched robbery landed his fellow gang members in jail. When they were released, they sought his death. They chased him to an old temple below Mount Tai. While hiding behind a tree, Tao was swallowed up by the earth, and found himself in a cavern where he found the Celestial Bow of Yi.

The magical bow begged Tao to take it as his own, as it was dying after four thousand years of disuse. When Tao picked it up, he was transformed into the Celestial Archer and granted Yi the Archer’s godlike archery skills. After chasing away his former gang, he instinctively fired an arrow at the moon, creating a magical bridge that took him to the home of the Chinese gods. The gods tasked him to serve as their agent on Earth, to inspire the Chinese and remind them of the old gods, whose worship was suppressed by the Communist government.

The Celestial Archer has unerring aim capable of shooting arrows charged with a mysterious energy, or that can turn day into night. He also has been trained in the use of his weapon by Yi himself (a zen master of the weapon) and thus possesses uncanny aim as well as above average visual senses.

Xu is an irreverent character, disrespectful of August General's authority and on good terms with Accomplished Perfect Physician. He considers his role in the Great Ten as secondary to his divine mission, something which has landed him in trouble in the past when he has put his divine mission ahead of the goals of the powers in charge of Tiger Squad's.

Caladbolg:
Used by a wandering hero known as Nuada, The spell-like abilities of Caladbolg were invaluable in his crusade to destroy a shapeshifting demon called Baloch that had slain Nuada’s family. It took Nuada several years of tracking and following the trail of destruction Baloch left in his wake before he finally was able to fully confront the creature and it is said that after several days of fighting that Nuada managed to gain the upper hand and take Baloch’s head in a single swing of Caladbolg.

Unfortunately Nuada died within a day from the injuries he suffered fighting Baloch and Caladbolg was buried with him, that it would not stay with him as several decades later looters found their way into Nuada’s crypt and stole most of the treasures that had been entombed with him, including Caladbolg.

Crimson Ruination

Post by Tattooedman » Sun Dec 09, 2012 10:56 am

Crimson Ruination:
The sword of a famed dragon hunter, Van Endrik, Crimson Ruination was said possess several unique abilities that allowed Van to challenge the great scaled beasts alone.

Van was the illegitimate child of a knight who had fathered Van at the mother’s request as to give her farmer husband a family, the knight’s only condition was that the first born son be given to him at the proper age to take on as his squire. A deal the farmer was unaware of, as the knight was considered to be friend of the family who would periodically stay with the family when he was in the area and had taken a liking to young Van and saw potential in him as a knight. As a squire, Van proved his courage and resolve when he aided the knight at a critical junction of a fight against a dragon, dashing out in-between the pair and distracting the massive beast which allowed the knight to strike the killing blow. Following that the knight began Van’s training in earnest and within five years he parted ways with the knight to make his own name as a dragon hunter.

One of Van’s early hunts led him to a dwarven mine that was under siege by a dragon with blood red scales and a very nasty disposition that had decided said mine would make an excellent lair. After making his offer to deal with the beast Van was given fifteen days to complete his intended task and he entered the mine with enough supplies to last him and on the thirteenth day he returned to the surface badly burned over most of his body and covered in several large cuts but with proof he’d killed the beast. After tending to Van’s injuries the grateful dwarves used parts of the fallen dragon to forge Crimson Ruination, imbuing powerful magic into it during it’s making to give Van a greater edge in his chosen profession.

Van Endrik died several decades later, many supposing his advancing age had finally slowed the hunter to the point that he was finally killed by one of the creatures he’d spent his life killing. What became of Crimson Ruination is unknown.
