Real Name: Carrie Levine
Height: 5’4”
Weight: 100 lbs
Hair: Red
Eye Color: Green

Complications:
Prejudice: T-Cell Radiation victim.

Background: The Terminus Invasion was a world-wide event, not something that was focus exclusively on Freedom City. Thousands of drone warriors filled the skies over dozens of major cities, like New York and Bay City for example. Thankfully the Sentinels and the Champions, as well as several solo heroes of those places, were on the front lines of the battle and working with the other heroes of the area they were able to lessen the damages done to their cities. What many people didn’t know was that there would be consequences that would only become known years after the Invasion that nobody could have predicted or expected.

Carrie Levine is just one of the many unfortunate T-Cell Radiation victims of the Terminus Invasion, part of an entire generation of young children who were exposed to the strange energies of the Doom Coil that interacted with some unknown factor in their genetic structure that ended up giving them metahuman abilities; in Carrie’s case, she was born with red-feathered wings and other avian related features. All of which made it clear that she was different from most of the people around her and thus early on in her life Carrie and her parents suffered from the social stigma most people have against T-babies.

Eventually the Levine family moved to Jokertown in an effort to at least be surrounded by other families suffering from similar issues but oddly enough many of their neighbors were uninterested in dealing with the Levine family due to the fact Carrie’s parents were human. This resulting in Carrie having only a few friends that she had regular dealings with because of her parents being ‘flatscans’ living in Jokertown. Despite this Carrie grew up to be a friendly girl who has a lust for life.

When Donald Henderson was recruiting for the expanded Albright project, Carrie was one of the first locals he reached out to as her outgoing nature and mostly normal appearance making her an excellent choice for the project’s goals. Her parents were given jobs at the Arcadian Academy (Mrs. Levine works as a secretary and Mr. Levine is part of the facilities department of the school) which allows all of them to live at the school and escape their flatscan status their neighbors had subjected them to.

Real Name: Garth Davis
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 151 lbs
Hair: Black
Eye Color: Violet

Complications:
Broken Up: Because of the hardship caused by his powers, Garth’s family basically abandoned him when he was younger. This has led to Garth having to deal with depression, for which he is given medicine that he must take on a regular basis.

Prejudice: T-Cell Radiation victim.

Weakness: Tempest dehydrates when away from water for an extended time, becoming impaired, disabled, and finally incapacitated before his condition becomes dying. Immersion in water immediately removes all accumulated conditions.

Garth Davis is just one of the many unfortunate T-Cell Radiation victims of the Terminus Invasion, part of an entire generation of young children who were exposed to the strange energies of the Doom Coil that interacted with some unknown factor in their genetic structure that ended up giving them metahuman abilities; for Garth this resulted in his body becoming adapted for surviving in underwater conditions as well as a minor telepathic ability that allows him to communicate with ocean life.

Because of the demands of his new physiology, Garth was taken in by the Albright Institute to be raised and while his family was given the opportunity to still be involved in his life they instead decided to move to a different part of the country and start their lives anew. Because of the separation from his family Garth suffers from feelings of inadequacy and struggles with depression.

That he was chosen to be part of the expanded Albright project was a bit surprising to Garth, his powers basically let him swim really well and talk to fish…..not something he ever really saw as all that useful. But at the same time the idea of being in the media on a regular basis did sound appealing to him….especially the possibility of having groupies.

Real Name: Toni Monette
Height: 5’3”
Weight: 117 lbs
Hair: Black
Eye Color: Hazel

Complications:
Family Secrets: Toni’s father is a member of the Scarlatti Family, one of the few remaining mobs still active in the United States.

Prejudice: T-Cell Radiation victim.

Background: The Terminus Invasion was a world-wide event, not something that was focus exclusively on Freedom City. Thousands of drone warriors filled the skies over dozens of major cities, like New York and Bay City for example. Toni Monette is just one of the many unfortunate T-Cell Radiation victims of the Terminus Invasion, part of an entire generation of young children who were exposed to the strange energies of the Doom Coil that interacted with some unknown factor in their genetic structure that ended up giving them metahuman abilities; in Toni’s case she is able to generate solid energy constructs out of a reddish colored style of plasma-like energy in simple forms such as protective shields, daggers, and battering rams. She is also able to fly somehow, as she isn’t surrounded by the energy she manipulates. One visible side effect is that Toni’s skin has taken on a silver-white-like sheen.

Toni’s mother realized that her father, a member of the Scarlatti Family, would at some point try to use his daughter’s powers to further himself in the criminal underworld took Toni and left him with some secret help from Langston Albright himself. While Mrs. Monette is now living in another state under an assumed name, Toni has become part of the Albright project and goes to the Arcadian Academy (a school in Jokertown for metahuman children) and thus is well protected from any of her father’s criminal influence.

Real Name: Charles “Charlie” Cole
Height: 5’8”
Weight: 148 lbs
Hair: None
Eye Color: White

Complications:
Prejudice: T-Cell Radiation victim.

Regulator Suit: If the Regulator Suit is ever removed, destroyed or damaged beyond function, Killowat’s go out of control (he can’t use his Electrokinesis Array and his Insubstantial becomes Uncontrolled).

Vulnerable: Killowat's power can be shorted out by water and other grounding items/devices.

Charlie Cole is just one of the many unfortunate T-Cell Radiation victims of the Terminus Invasion, part of an entire generation of young children who were exposed to the strange energies of the Doom Coil that interacted with some unknown factor in their genetic structure that ended up giving them metahuman abilities; in Charlie’s case his body has been transformed into electrical plasma, which allows him to generate electrical power as shocks or bolts, traverse distances by tapping into a conductive material and allowing his body’s electrical charge to travel down the conductive item, and manipulate machinery or drain the electrical energy from them at his whim. However, Charlie must wear a special containment suit to retain a solid form and he is extremely sensitive to anything that may "short circuit" him, such as water or items designed to ground electricity.

Because of the nature of his powers Charlie has spent a good part of his young life living at different Albright Institute centers as scientists and doctors are constantly studying him in an effort to return him to normal. Langston Albright felt that Charlie needed to be with others his own age and made Charlie part of his expanded Albright project, which required Charlie to attend the Arcadian Academy when not working for Albright.

So far it seems to have helped Charlie some, though the fact he still has to wear his Regulator Suit most of the time still grates on his nerves and results in Charlie periodically giving some extra attitude to his teachers and classmates.

Real Name: Luke Harris
Height: 6’
Weight: 260 lbs
Hair: Black
Eye Color: Grey

Complications:
Prejudice: T-Cell Radiation victim.

Rage Of The Wild: Wildebeest struggles to not lose himself to his animalistic nature, and become a raging beast during combat.

Luke Harris is just one of the many unfortunate T-Cell Radiation victims of the Terminus Invasion, part of an entire generation of young children who were exposed to the strange energies of the Doom Coil that interacted with some unknown factor in their genetic structure that ended up giving them metahuman abilities; in Luke’s case he transformed at the age of fifteen into a humanoid wildebeest and isn’t able to change back to his normal form since. His single father freaked out, yelling and demanding to know what he’d done with his son and to get the hell out of his house, completely missing the fact that the large creature he’d discovered in his son’s room was wearing scraps of Luke’s clothing.

Effectively disowned and homeless, Luke wandered the streets of New York for several days before the police tried to take him in for questioning (his father having finally reported Luke as being kidnapped and had supplied a very good description of Luke’s new look) but their brutish manner in apprehending him caused Luke to lose his temper and resist arrest. In a fit of anger Luke threw a police cruiser just over two blocks away, which brought Troll on the scene a few minutes later and very quickly the fight was on. After a few exchanges Troll realized that something didn’t seem right about his opponent so he moved in and grappled Luke to the ground and got him to finally calm down then made him explain what was going on.

Upon hearing the mutated boy’s story, Troll immediately placed him into “protective custody” and took him to see Doc Steele. Fortunately the retired hero knew exactly who to call, as he was fully aware of dozen of similar cases happening in Freedom City and what Langston Albright was trying to do to help those kids. Thus a few days later Luke was getting his first medical evaluation from the Albright Institute.

Recently with how well Langston’s latest project is going – the development of a group of T-Cell Radiation victims making the rounds in various media outlets and showing that the other kids like them aren’t the monsters that many people think they are, he’s decided to expand the operation and put together another group. One to cover other regions of the country to help spread the message about the work the Institute is doing to help those children as well as preach about ideals of equality and understanding.

Luke was chosen to join this new group for a couple – mostly it’s due to the massive amount of physical alterations he’s underwent because of his powers. His short fuse and stubbornness makes him a bit difficult to deal with but deep down Luke is a good kid and that shows in his actions.

Luke is a bit arrogant as well as confident in his own abilities but honestly Luke hasn’t run into much he couldn’t lift, break or damage in some way when he really tried. He gets irritated when people forget that he is not human or when people say that he smells bad (Luke does the best he can about it, but he can’t help the fact he sweats with the fur that covers his body), and he likes to win. Despite his hard exterior Luke seems to truly care for his friends and fellow T-babies and seeing them get injured can enrage him.

For now Luke is living at the home that has been set up for the group of Albright kids who are going to be operating in Bay City but their work will have them traveling across the mid-west. Luke doesn’t mind the living arrangements honestly (especially with the likes of Argent and Redwing living there as well) but if the truth were to be told he has no where else to go as his father has abandoned him and told the rest of his family that he died from a sickness he caught because of the Invasion. Not that he’d tell any of the other Albright kids any of this anyways but still, it’s an emotional wound that Luke is having trouble dealing with.

Real Name: Donna Sanchez
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 115 lbs
Hair: Brown
Eye Color: Brown

Complications:
Reputation: Rattle is an angry woman and is known for being a bit of a shrew.

Watching Out For Number One: When it's all said and done, Rattle is always doing what is best for her. Currently that's working with Shake and Roll but if another, better opportunity came along she'd leave them in a heartbeat.

Background: Donna Sanchez grew up in the slums of a Hispanic ghetto surround by little less besides gangs and poverty. She quickly learned how to use her female wiles to get what she wanted but by the age of seventeen she was only just getting by, moving through the gang structures as power shifted when new leaders came in.

Then she got knocked up and tried to straighten up, getting a job first as a waitress then as an exotic dancer since the money was better. Unfortunately she was working at one of the slummier clubs that was raided by people working for the Labyrinth who were looking for more test subjects for the DNAscent project and in their typical fashion they raided the club one night, taking everyone who was present then covered their tracks by burning the building down and leaving a collection of corpses to be found.

Donna was one of the few who reacted well to the treatments and she soon developed powers as a result of the process. During that time she became close to two others who'd been taken when she was and developed powers of their own from being subjected to the DNAscent process; Phil Andrews and Miguel Vega. The three of them became close due to their shared hardship and eventually they managed to engineer an escape (though they were simply allowed to escape to be studied 'in the field' by Labyrinth agents to study their progress).

Having lost touch with the outside world during the time they'd been held prisoner for over a year, they kept together for mutual protection and lack of trust of others. Realizing that they needed to work together to take care of themselves, it was Donna who suggested they use their powers as a means of supporting themselves. Part of it was due to her unspoken frustration over how life had treated her and had denied her a normal life and Donna's street connections that allowed them to get their first couple jobs. From there Donna managed to build a small power base by taking over a street gang whose leaders had just been sent to jail thanks to an undercover sting done by the police. It's through them that Donna keeps her ear to the ground as to what's happening in the underworld.

Now a few years later Donna, as Rattle, is the leader of the trio thanks to her forceful personality and her using her charms on fellow teammate Shake, who she does care about but is too afraid to admit it to herself, to take advantage of the group's 'majority rules' style of picking work.

Despite her closeness to Shake and Roll, if she were presented if another oportunity to further her criminal career, such as working for a well-known criminal mastermind, Rattle would do so with little hesitation. Plus she'd leave her former allies in such a manner that would prevent them from being able to stop her from leaving their group and more than likely unable to try and get back at her for her betrayal.

Real Name: Phillip 'Phil' Andrews
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 230 lbs
Hair: Black
Eye Color: Blue

Complications:
Still An Outsider: Despite gaining superhuman powers Shake is still just an insecure kid at heart who wants to be accepted by others. It's something he currently gets working with Rattle and Roll but if either of them were to turn on him then he would be out for blood. Also because of this anyone he fights that taunts him will find him becoming much more aggressive until he either wins or is knocked out.

Temper: Shake normally is fairly cool-headed but verbal barbs by opponents about his lack of fighting skill/power/or some other kind of personal jab will set him off.

Background: Phillip Andrews grew up in the slum neighborhoods of the Fens but as one of the few 'white boys' in the hood he had to prove a lot more than other boys his age to get accepted. Luckily for Phil he was naturally strong despite his small size (he only stood 5'7") and after using his strength in a string of robberies to help the gang he was trying to join he was accepted. Like most teens his age Phil became his family and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them, often times playing the role of the 'hitter' in revenge hits for the gang, a role he soon became feared for given his natural strength.

Phil also had a bit of an interest in music and was developing a talent for performing as one of the very rare white MCs in the area, and once again he had to deal with the stereotype of his skin color but he managed to earn a devoted following and was starting to grow a name (using the name Devious P) in the area as someone with solid skills on a mic.

Then one evening Phil and his crew decided to enjoy themselves after a show he'd done and stopped in a strip club to get things going as an after party. They had the misfortune of choosing the one that the Labyrinth planned to raid for more test subjects for the DNAscent process and despite Phil's efforts to fight off the heavily armed men the gang bangers were taken along with everyone else in the club.

Phil was one of the few who reacted well to the treatments and she soon developed powers as a result of the process. During that time he became close to two others who'd been taken when she was and developed powers of their own from being subjected to the DNAscent process; Donna Sanchez and Miguel Vega.

Phil agreed for two reasons; his strong attraction to Donna, and the fact that he learned most of his old gang had been wiped out by a rival crew. He saw the other two as his new family and decided to move on with his life, in the direction Donna wanted to take them and it was thanks to her street connections that they were able to get their first couple jobs.

Now a few years later Phil, as Shake, is the muscle of the trio and has come to enjoy the lifestyle they lead. It helps that he gets to vent his frustrations out during their crimes and he gets to go home with Rattle (aka Donna), who he follows around like a big and dangerous, love-sick puppy. He is overprotective of Rattle and will attempt to clobber anyone who threatens, disrespects, or hurts her.

In fact Phil has fallen so hard for Rattle that that he will take almost any criticism or abuse she dishes out at him. The only thing that would break him from her spell is if Rattle were to outright spurn him for another man (which she won't do as Phil is too valuable to her at the moment), then his retaliation would be fierce and highly destructive.

Real Name: Miguel Vega
Height: 6'
Weight: 190 lbs
Hair: Brown
Eye Color: Brown

Complications:
Not One To Be Fooled Roll is aware of Rattle’s nature and has been keeping track of her comings and goings as well as who she is dealing with. All of this is so that when and if she tries to stab him and Shake in the back all Roll has to do is let Shake know where to find Rattle.

Secret: Miguel misses his family very much and if he were given a chance to start his life over he’d drop out of the supervillain game and head to Mexico to try and find his family.

Background: Miguel Vega was the son of illegal immigrants who wanted nothing more than to get out of the Fens anyway he could and he ended up hooked up with a local up and coming white boy rapper Devious P (aka Phil Andrews), becoming his 'driver' (not that Phil really knew Miguel all that well honestly). In Miguel's mind all he had to do was do his job well and when hit big he'd keep Miguel around for his skills behind a wheel.

One evening Devious P and his crew decided to enjoy themselves after a show he'd done and stopped in a local strip club, Miguel included. Unfortunately for them however the Labyrinth raided the club looking to take people to be used as new test subjects for the DNAscent process. Like the majority of the others at the club that night, Miguel was captured and transported while unconscious.

Miguel was one of the few who reacted well to the treatments and she soon developed powers as a result of the process. During that time he became close to two others who'd been taken when she was and developed powers of their own from being subjected to the DNAscent process; Donna Sanchez and Phil Andrews. The three of them became close due to their shared hardship and eventually they managed to engineer an escape (though they were simply allowed to escape to be studied 'in the field' by Labyrinth agents to study their progress).

Once they were free Miguel tried to contact his family only to find that they’d be found by INS and deported back to Mexico, so having nowhere else to go he returned to Donna and Phil. Thus when Donna suggested the three of them use their powers as a means of supporting themselves Miguel agreed mostly because he had nowhere else to go and Phil and Donna were the only people Miguel trusted without a doubt.

Now a few years later Miguel, as Roll, often times plays the roll of blaster for the trio and he’s figured out a few ways to use his control of kinetic energy to the group’s advantage that have paid off in the past. He’s the level head that Shake often doesn’t have and he’s more of a team player than Rattle could ever hope to be, basically he’s the glue that holds the three of them together.

He does recognize the game Rattle is playing on Shake and doesn’t like it one bit. Miguel has grown to think of the group as an extension of his family and is still a very loyal person. He views Shake as his best friend and while he knows Rattle won’t betray them at this point and time, Miguel does realize that it is only a matter of time before a better opportunity presents itself to her and then she’s gone. Thus he’s been keeping tabs on Rattle’s activities and knows where several of her hiding spots are located so that he can just point Shake in the right direction before taking his cut and moving on.

The Young Avengers:

In another dimension a newly born cosmic being was attempting to understand the concepts of good and evil but found its comprehension lacking. It discovers Earth and begins to observe its people, soon learning of the presence of superheroes on Earth and their potential for doing good as they fight against various supervillains, each of whom use their powers selfishly and are often considered to be evil.

Fascinated by the conflicts he watches, the Entity chooses a group of both superheroes and supervillains and teleports them, against their will, to "Battleworld", a planet the Entity created in a distant galaxy as to closer observe the heroes and villains as it tests their moral convictions through both combat and situations it creates in between battles. The Entiry made this world stocked with a large collection of alien weapons and technology. Then the Entity, calling itself the Beyonder, declares to all of those it had taken: "I am from beyond! Slay your enemies and all that you desire shall be yours! Nothing you dream of is impossible for me to accomplish!"

The heroes included members of the team of heroes known as the Avengers (Captain America, Captain Marvel II, Hawkeye, Iron Man II, She-Hulk, Thor, and the Wasp), three members of another group of heroes known as the Fantastic Four (the Human Torch II, Mister Fantastic and the Thing), in addition to the solo heroes known as Spider-Man, Spider-Woman II and the Hulk, as well as the mutant team of heroes known collectively as the X-Men (Colossus, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Professor X, Rogue, Storm, Wolverine and Lockheed the Dragon). The recently reformed villain Magneto was among the X-Men and their splitting off into a seperate faction was due to the other heroes questioning his being considered a part of their side (though the X-Men did fully work with the other heroes they simply lived seperately from them in a camp of their own to avoid conflicts).

The villains include a wide assortment of men and women who all had various reasons for the criminal uses of their abilities; the Absorbing Man, Doctor Doom, Doctor Octopus, the Enchantress, Kang the Conqueror, Klaw, the Lizard, Molecule Man, Titania, Ultron, Volcana, and the villainous team known as the Wrecking Crew (Wrecker, Thunderball, Bulldozer and Piledriver). The cosmic being known as Galactus also appeared as part of the villains side but he immediately becomes a non-aligned entity as he does not view himself as a villain as others beings did because of his need to consume the life energy of planets to survive.

After months of battling one another, neither the assembled heroes of villains had gained a clear victory over their opponents. However during that time Galactus was unable to feed and was slowly dying as a result desperately enacted a plot to sustain himself; taking portions of his star ship that had been transported to Battleworld with him, Galactus created a cosmic converter harness that would transform the energies of the Entity into the bio-energy Galactus normally fed upon by consuming planets.

Springing his trap during the largest conflict between the gathered heroes and villains, Galactus succeeded in not only capturing the Entity but draining it of its cosmic energy effectively killing it before it could gain the answers to its questions. However Galactus had made an error in his construction of the cosmic harness and it overloaded once he tried to convert the frequency of the Entity’s energy into a form that he could consume, releasing a massive wave of destructive energy that killed Mister Fantastic, the Thing, all of the Wrecking Crew except for the Wrecker, Captain Marvel II, Cyclops, Doctor Octopus, Kang, Magneto, and Spider-Woman II.

After the deaths of so many on both sides peace is declared by the remaining heroes and villains. The Hulk heads into the wilderness in an effort to figure out a way to get everyone back home while Doctor Doom builds a replica of his ancestral castle, allowing anyone who would swear loyalty to him to reside there as well to which a number of the villains do. The remaining former villains and heroes settle down and build a small community some distance away from Doom’s castle and maintain the peace.

Several years later some of the inhabitants begin to have children, who inherit some of their parents powers; Blader Blake (Bravado) is the son of Thor and Amora (the Enchantress), Trudy Creel (Chokehold) is the daughter of Crusher Creel (Absorbing Man) and Mary ‘Skeeter’ MacPherran (Titania), Sarah Rogers (Crusader) is the daughter of Steve Rogers (Captain America) and Carol Danvers (Ms. Marvel, although it is only her personality manifested in the body of X-Man member Rogue's who had accidentally killed Ms. Marvel several months before being brought to Battleworld), Matt Storm (Firefly) is the son of Johnny Storm (Human Torch) and Janet VanDyne (Wasp), Gator is the son of the Lizard (created by his having access to the scientific knowledge of his alter ego; Curt Conners), Vincent Von Doom (Malefactor) is the son of Victor Von Doom (Doctor Doom) and Amora (the Enchantress), Tucker Reece (Moleculon) is the son of Owen Reece (Molecule Man) and Marsha Rosenberg (Volcana), C.J. Barton (Mustang) is the son of Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and Jessica Walters (She-Hulk), Rick Garthwaite (Raze) is the son of Dirk Garthwaite (Wrecker) and an unknown mother, and Kendall Logan (Torrent) is the daughter of Logan (Wolverine) and Ororo Munroe (Storm).

By Baldar's eighteenth birthday Vincent Von Doom, disposes of his father, begins calling himself Malefactor and gathers Chokehold, Gator, Klaw, Moleculon, and Raze in a plot to first take over Battleworld, then return to Earth, in order to follow in his father's footsteps and conquer it. Malefactor even attempted to recruit his half-brother Baldar but is turned down and told outright that others would oppose him.

Seeking to stop his wayward half-sibling, Bravado informs his friends Sarah, Matt, C.J. and Kendall of Malefactor’s plan and they form an alliance to stop Malefactor's plan with Sarah leading them. Their parents are unable to help them because the teens felt it was their duty to deal with the rogues of their generation and the fact that the older generation of heroes and reformed villains were fighting off the legion of Doombots that Malefactor had sent to kill them.

Despite the teen heroes lack of experience they defeat Malefactor and his minions thanks to Sarah picking up Mjolnir (proving her worthiness to wield the enchanted hammer) with the help of the returned Hulk and Doctor Doom (who faked his death when Malefactor attacked him).

Once Malefactor and his cronies had been dealt with Hulk explains to everyone that he has figured out a way to use 30th Century technology left behind by the deceased Kang’s in his future ship to create an inter-dimensional portal that would allow everyone to go home with the help of Thor's hammer; Mjolnir. But once the device had been built and everyone had gathered to activate the portal Uatu the Watcher appeared before them as a sign of bad things to come if they were to return to Earth. After talking it over amongest themselves the adults choose to call off the trip, preferring to stay in the home they had made for themselves on the former Battleworld.

However the younger heroes; Bravado, Crusader, Firefly, Mustang and Torrent disagreed and snuck out that night to use the portal (as Crusader had been allowed to keep possession of Mjolnir by Thor) to prove that it was indeed safe. They then find themselves on the planet Earth that their parents had told them all stories of but are attacked by a Sentinel (a giant mutant hunting robot originally built by the U.S. Government to deal with rogue mutants who used their powers recklessly). Together the five of them make short work of the giant robot and learn that the United States has been overtaken by the Sentinels. As the five teen heroes are now stranded on Earth (the Hulk’s machine needed Mjolnir to help make the portal to Earth) they agree to become the Young Avengers to liberate Earth from the menace of the Sentinels.

Over the course of the following year Crusader, Firefly, Torrent, Bravado and Mustang fought many times against the Sentinels, eventually learning that the controlling force behind the Sentinels was the very first Sentinel built. That original robot became corrupted by villainous robot Ultron (a backuped version of the robotic criminal that had activated upon the disappearance of the previous unit) in an plan to use the Sentinels as his own private army, but he was stopped by the combined efforts of the remaining members of both the Avengers and the X-Men.

Months later the first Sentinel became self aware and took the name of Master Mold, then used its upgraded abilities to control and coordinate the newer Sentinel models to go after not just mutant but all superhumans as they all must either possess lesser mutations or dormant mutations in their DNA that allowed them to develop superhuman abilities when exposed to certain stimuli.

During their adventures the Young Avengers discovered a resistance effort to Master Mold’s plans of global domination, made up of either the children of their parents allies who were lead by Tony Stark (the original Iron Man). Among those legacies were Azari T'Challa (Black Panther) the son of the previous King of Wakanda who carried that title, Henry Pym Jr. (Stature) the son of Giant-Man, Frank Barton (Trickshot) the son of Hawkeye, James Rogers (U.S. Agent) the son of Captain America, Torunn the daughter of Thor and an unknown mother, and a synthetic being built by Stark to work with the team named the Vision.

At first it seemed like a dream come true as the Young Avengers were starting to feel run down from all the constant running and fighting they’d been doing against the Sentinels. So to suddenly gain support (as a few hot meals go a long way when you haven’t had one in a few weeks and the same can be said for a decent bed that’s not the ground) was a confidence booster that the teen heroes needed and they found solid allies in the ‘New Avengers’ that were as dedicated to defeating Master Mold as they were.

Unfortunately living so closely together allowed the Young Avengers to notice small inconsistencies in the story of how the New Avengers had came to be. Eventually Crusader learned the truth – that all of the New Avengers were actually clones based on DNA samples of their ‘fathers’ Stark had taken during their time with the Avengers but Stark did a bit of genetic engineering to maintain his lie about their origins. He’d realized that the people needed something to believe in to survive the rule of the Sentinels and decided to give them that hope in the New Avengers. Stark saw it as atonement for his greatest failure – the creation of Ultron, one of the worst villains the original Avengers ever faced and ultimately the one responsible for the situation with the Sentinels.

Of course Stark wanted this information to remain a secret and sent his other creation, the Vision, to eliminate Crusader but she was able to survive the synthezoid’s assault long enough to reach her teammates and tell them the truth after they’d repelled the Vision. Realizing he only had a short window of opportunity Stark didn’t give the Young Avengers anytime to come up with a way to expose his lies to the New Avengers, forging ‘proof’ that the Young Avengers were advanced Sentinels created by Master Mold to first infiltrate the resistance then destroy the New Avengers.

Of course this resulted in a massive free-for-all between the two teams of Avengers that quickly drew the attention of the Sentinels. But during the course of the fight the New Avengers learned the truth and rebelled against Stark, joining the Young Avengers in destroying the attacking Sentinels and together the two teams made a mass run at Master Mold’s main facility.

Unfortunately Master Mold had known they were coming as only a few months previously he had compromised the Vision and was using him as an infiltrator within the New Avengers. As Master Mold’s newest Sentinels, that were custom built to target the weaknesses of the New Avengers, began picking off their primary targets a strange thing happened – a rift in space appeared and out came a small aircraft that helped the remaining Avengers make their escape from Master Mind's forces.

Navimatrix, as the Young Avengers learned the craft was named, was no stranger to young metahumans in trouble. In fact that was why she'd came to their dimension in the first place; seeking out those whose worlds were not safe for them and taking them to the one place Navimatrix knew was safe - Claremont Academy.

Given the losses of so many of their friends and the injuries that most of them were suffering, the Young Avengers were forced to admit they were in over their heads and agreed to go with Navimatrix to this school that would teach them how to use their powers and abilities to the point that they could eventually return to their world and finally free it from Ultron's domination.

Needless to say that when the Navimatrix arrived with seven seriously wounded metahuman teenagers who looked liked they'd been fighting a war, Headmaster Summers was somewhat irritated but he still welcomed the Young Avengers into Claremont without hesitation (he would later have a talk with Navimatrix).

Eventually the members of the Young Avengers recovered from their various injuries and joined the student body of Claremont with some mixed results so far. Crusader, Torrent, and Torunn have had run-ins with Dasiy, Deidre and other members of their clique, while Bravado and Magni have been giving one another plenty of space until they have a better feel of one another (though Magni seems to accept Torunn without a problem for some reason). Firefly, Trickshot, Mustang however seem to have meshed well with the rest of the students at Claremont thanks to a combination of their good looks and personal charms.

Re: World of Freedom: New FC Setting characters

Post by Tattooedman » Tue Aug 06, 2013 7:08 am

A little while I ago I started working on some builds for a group of characters that had been chosen by the Greek Gods to act as their avatars in the War for Olympus and after doing some of the builds I realized I was kind of running low on ideas on how to handle the powers and abilities the avatars would be granted.

Then and idea hit me; have a contest with some of the people who played in the games I ran to see what they could come up with following the guidelines set by the characters I'd already built. There were some really good submissions and here are the results of those people's efforts.

Real Name: Donald Chase
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 210 lbs
Hair: Brown
Eye Color: Blue

Complications:
Frustrated Romantic: In spite of everything, Don still believes in love and desires a real relationship, not fueled by his powers.

Minion of Aphrodite: As Aphrodite's Hunter, Don can be called upon by his patron at anytime and anywhere to act on her behalf and at her orders.

Reasons of the Gods: Don knows there is a reason why he was chosen by Aphrodite, but she hasn't shared it yet.

Temper: Having been betrayed by love in the past, Don will sometimes lash out at people whom he believes do not deserve the happiness he has been denied.

Quirk ~Glasses: Since becoming Aphrodite's Avatar, Don has taken to wearing glasses, usually sunglasses, at all times, removing them only when he is completely at ease. Even when using Dream Lover, his disguise will include some means of covering or hiding his eyes (glasses or long bangs). He will target anyone who talks about them disparagingly or attempts to remove them.

Background: Donald Chase was always an unassuming, shy soul, especially during his teens. And like most such teens, focusing on his studies and love of history became his primary coping mechanism. A stereotypical late bloomer, it wasn't until he was in college that he became comfortable opening up socially. Even then, Don's social (and dating) circle remained small.

As he completed his teaching degree, he was coming to the conclusion that love simply wasn't in the cards, when he met Angela Kaisaris. An art history major, she was a kind soul and was able to draw Donald out of his shell. Their courtship was a long one, but no one doubted they were right for one another. Shortly after Donald was hired as a teaching assistant, he proposed and they became engaged. For the first time in a very long time, Donald thought, “I feel normal....”

It lasted for all of four months.

Angela was asked to take part in the cataloging and restoration of a number of ancient Grecian artifacts in New York. Donald had every faith that she would only be gone for three weeks and then they'd be together for the rest of their lives. When her calls home became shorter and less frequent, he paid it no mind. On the day Angela was to return, a courier knocked on his door with a letter. Inside, Donald found a Dear John letter he barely read and the ring he given her. Her time in New York had been transformative, Angela wrote, and she simply couldn't see herself returning to the small city they'd planned to make their home in. She wrote that she knew that this was a horrible, painful way to break their engagement, but it seemed to be the least of all evils, ending with, 'You will find someone worthy of you.'

Shattered, Donald immediately left for New York in search of answers, in search of Angela. In short order, he found her, but held back from confronting her. In a normal frame of mind, he would have been horrified at the thought of stalking someone, but for a week, he did just that, obsessing over every facet of Angela's new life. In short order, he discovered the real reason she broke it off: Ryan Brewer, the antiques dealer who owned the collection she'd been cataloging. A more traditionally handsome man, he'd stolen her away from him in only three weeks. Years of overcoming my fears and insecurities, Donald thought, of reaching out, of loving her so much...outweighed by three weeks. An anger, a rage he never knew before, welled up and push him to confront the two in Brewer's gallery. After a brief shouting match, Donald rushed him. The simple truth, however, was that Brewer was in better shape and was able manhandle him. Donald kept flailing, though, Angela screaming for him to stop and for Brewer not to hurt him. Finally, Ryan began to lose patience and bodily threw Donald across the room, not caring where he landed. And so, Donald smashed face-first into a just unpacked, antique ornate mirror. He was conscious just long enough to turn to Angela and hear her scream.

Days later, Donald awoke in darkness, unable to open his eyes. A nurse summoned a doctor, who explained that the mirror fragments had badly scratched his corneas. The fragments had been removed, but the damage to his vision was likely irreparable. He screamed and raged for a full five minutes before he could be sedated.

As he sleep that second time, he had a strange, vivid dream. A presence, a woman, he somehow sensed, entered the room, sat upon the bed, and took his hand. "Love is a beautiful, fickle thing.", she said, in a sweet, sad voice, “As sharp and double-edged as any sword.” It reminded him of, and yet was so much...more...than Angela's. “I am Aphrodite and that mirror was made as my token. Having broken it, and been broken by it, you have come to my attention.” It was an outlandish claim, to be an ancient goddess, but Donald knew the truth of it, to his core. “I have need of a champion, a hunter, which the mirror was meant to find, but truthfully you did not choose the mirror. If you choose it now, I will grant you power of, from, and over that beautiful, fickle thing.” If I refuse?, he asked, even though he had no intention of doing so. “You would continue the life you know. As a mercy, I would heal your wounds...”, she answered, “but that would be last you would know of me. Ever.” Then, it's a simple choice. A Hunter you have.

When he next awoke, Don knew something was different. He was different. When the doctor entered, Don began speaking, confidently, easily, and insisted that his bandages be removed. The doctor and nurses tried to convince him against it and prepared to sedate him again, but the longer Don spoke, the more sense it made to do as they were told. Timidly, the doctors removed the bandages and were amazed to find that not only was Don's vision unimpaired, but that his face was essentially unscarred. The nurses were especially struck by his looks. In short order, he was released from the hospital and immediately called upon Angela and Ryan. His visit with them was short and peaceful, outwardly at any rate, but they were very much changed, afterward. They soon married, but their friends noted that something about them had gone missing.

Since then, Don has performed a number of tasks sent him by Aphrodite. These have been simple enough tasks, if unusual, but Don's not an idiot. His tasks are...escalating, slowly, and its only a matter of time before he comes to the attention to a number of people, especially a new heroine calling herself Huntress. In anticipation for their meeting, he has adopted a masked identity of his own, as Hunter. For the most part, he has been a hero (which is his natural inclination), however, the temptation to...enjoy his abilities is always there.

Hunter is a creation of Kaisus, a player in my Freedom League game.

Real Name: Elysia Conner
Height: 5’5”
Weight: 113 lbs
Hair: Blonde
Eye Color: Blue

Complications:
Avatar of Hermes: Before being chosen, Elysia led a fairly simple life in comparison, now she has to deal with rival avatars, enemies bent on destroying her and everything else that comes with being a questing heroine.

Minion of Hermes: As a follower of Hermes, she can be called upon at any time to perform whatever quest or duty Hermes dreams up.

Reasons of the Gods: Unlike a lot of the other Olympian deities, Hermes has been pretty straight up with Themis; but he does like to pull pranks on her as well. Usually to teach her something but still. It's difficult sometimes being Hermes’ favorite human.

Background: Elysia is the daughter of Richard and Maria Conner, wealthy industrialists with interests ranging from diamond mines in Africa to coffee plantations in Argentina. She grew up with every luxury and the finest teachers, eventually becoming a doctor in record time.

Unbeknown to the rest of the world, both her mother and father were quite talented mages in their own right. Elysia's talents were more to creating powerful magical items than straight spellwork, though when push came to shove, she was no slouch with the odd ritual magic either. One day, while poking through some old ruins, Elysia came upon an grimy, age-incrusted item of curiosity. As she touched it, it began to glow with power, the grime and gunk burning away to reveal a scepter of great power. As she touched it, she saw a man leaning against a broken statue. He was young, devilishly handsome with an impish grin.

"Well milady, you are downright perfect for what I have in mind. Bright, capable enough on your own and a healer to boot." he looked like he was about ready to do the happy dance. "You're mine anyway without knowing it!" he chuckled. "My idiot brothers and sisters won't know what hit ‘em."

"Who are you?" Elysia asked curiously.

"Hermes, messenger of the Gods. Deity of travelers, thieves, medicine and merchants at your service." he theatrically bowed. "And since you picked up my little trinket, you're now my avatar." He tipped his winged hat at her as he spoke. "Now for the most part, I don't really care what you do with my trinket, long as you keep to the basic tenets of your profession. I'll be calling on you from time to time to perform certain duties of course, but they'll be well within your capabilities. Until then, toodles!" He vanished and reappeared briefly. "Oh, it wouldn't hurt every now and then to call on me in battle or send up a prayer, eh?" He saluted her cheerfully and then vanished again.

Since then, Elysia has become Themis; a hero in her own right and crafted the boots and helmet to compliment the Silver Caduceus, much to Herme's amusement. He always did appreciate a follower who took initiative.

Complications:
Chosen as Dionysus’ Goblet Bearer: Before being chosen, Dennis led a life of partying and womanizing. Now that he’s gotten his powers Dennis’ life hasn’t changed much.

Enemy: Various 'exploited' women and boyfriends, parents, womens’ groups, religious types, law enforcement types really want his campaign of lewd behavior to end. So far, he hasn’t been found legally guilty.

Pervert: If he thinks that he has a decent chance at getting a good look at a hot babe- he’ll take it, and often video tape it.

Reasons of the Gods: Dennis knows that there is a reason why Dionysus chose him to be his scion, he jut hasn’t been able to get the God to share it yet.

Reputaion ~Jerk with a heart of gold: There’s a nice side of the jerk somewhere deep deep inside that worries about his legacy.

Minion of Dionysus: As Dionysus’ chosen, Dennis can be called upon at anytime by his patron no matter where he might be and he has to as Dionysus asks of him. So far, they keep competing on making the biggest scores.

Background: Dennis Waters was from the beginning a sleazy pervert, or in his own words, developed a fine appreciation for the female figure from an early age. He wasn’t too picky about it either and he became well known as a peeping tom at his school, in his neighborhood and even within his family. While many boys either grow out of that phase or at least to control it, David has turned it into a career. He has progressed through jobs such as tabloid photographer and private investigation (specializing in infidelity cases), he found his focus in life doing ‘documentaries’ and ‘real life television’. What that often meant is that he would hire a small crew to man video cameras and head out to a popular party place, looking for cute young things (usually drunk), encourage exhibitionist tendencies, get them to sign waivers and start filming. Sometimes, Dennis has come up with more creative scenes. His greatest accomplishment is a upskirt video of Lady Liberty during her very short miniskirt phase. She still hasn’t forgiven him.

One such scene was life altering. He was determined to push the boundaries even further than a certain net meme. He had the girls signed up and was just looking for a prop. Going through the stuff at a rummage sell, he came across it- the goblet. It was perfect for the shoot that he had planned. That night, he had an even wilder dream than usual. It was of a naked Grecian guy.. or was it a chick? in any case hot (!) that grinned at him and told him just how they were going to keep the party going.

Since then, Dennis has kept the party (and the video shoots) going, pushing the boundaries of decency while staying within the letter of the law. Various groups keep trying to shut him down. Anonymously, he’s been giving several charities (primarily dealing with child abuse) money. He’s not a bad guy per se, just a perverted sleazebag.

Guiding The Lost Ones: Thanks to her experience with the Alterniteens, Navimatrix is now on a mission to find and rescue any super-powered young people across any dimension she might encounter them in and bring them back to Claremont Academy (the one place of all the dimensions she has seen that can keep its charges safe).

Background: Navimatrix is still part of the Claremont Staff, often acting as a group transport when they have need of one and as a resident expert on matters pertaining to other dimensional phenomena. She often times takes trips across other dimensions looking for orphaned super-powered children to rescue and bring back to Claremont. Sometimes she has the company of some of the students, most often Relentless and Dauntless but other times Navimatrix goes off on her own.

Comments: Nothing too radical with Navimatrix's build really, the one thing I did add was the ability for her to turn into a flying ship (as for some reason I got the idea she could do that when I first read about her).

Real Name: Peter Dolan
Height: 8’ 6”
Weight: Unknown
Hair: Mane of flames
Eye Color: Molten orange

Complications:
Power Loss: Firedrake is vulnerable to having most of his powers shut down by being exposed to intense cold or large amounts of water, it will leave him unable to use his Living Magma Body, Magma Breath, or Magma Claws & Spikes abilities until his internal temperature has returned back to normal (a process that will take a few minutes to a few hours depending on the amounts of cold/water used).

Power Loss: When Firedrake reverts back to his Peter Dolan identity, he loses his powers, his stats change to Strength 0, Stamina 0, Agility 0, Dexterity 0, Fighting 0, and Intellect 2 and he has the Expertise [Writer] 6 (+8.).

Split Personality: It seems that Firedrake is a separate identity to that of Peter Dolan, and Firedrake isn't too fond of Dolan.

Temper: As with most metahumans whose powers are fire based, Firedrake can become very angry with little provocation; in his case it is mostly triggered by any kind of setback or insult thrown at him.

Weakness: Firedrake suffers an additional degree of effect from any cold or water-based effect. Extreme cold/water-based effects are treated as Fortitude Damage equal to a base rank of at least 10 and his Impervious Toughness does not function against them.

Background: Peter Dolan lived a normal life in Emerald City, earning a degree in English when he went to college. While earning his degree Peter came up with an idea for a setting for a series of novels (which focused on a set of characters who were secretly dragons in modern society who acted to protect humanity from mystical threats) he started working on during his sophomore year that he managed to get published just before graduating. The series was a hit and soon Pete was living very comfortably off his written works.

Unfortunately Peter had the misfortune of having a meeting with his agent at a local coffee house on Yellow Brick Row when the Silver Storm happened, and like so many others Peter was drastically changed by it; in Peter's case he transformed into an eight foot plus tall, draconic being whose body was made of molten rock who called himself Firedrake. And like so many of the other victims of the Silver Storm he went on a rampage only to be stopped by the efforts of some other Stormers and local metahumans (who would go on to become the Emerald City Sentinels).

Firedrake was among the Stormers who managed to escape during the aftermath of the Silver Storm and hasn't been seen since, but given the destructive nature of his powers and his generally disposition it probably won't be too long before he returns to the public eye.
