Real Name: Slade Wilson
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 225 lbs
Hair: White
Eye Color: Blue

Complications:
Code Of Ethics: Deathstroke has a set of personal guidelines he follows, but those seem to shift depending on the amounts of personal stress he is experiencing at any giving time. In the past he's not injured women and children in combat (even going out of his way to get them to safety) while other times he has bombed blocks worth of civilians in order to take out a target.

Motivation: Showing that he is the best there is at what he does.

Rivalry: As one of the world's top mercenaries, Deathstroke has a rivalry with Deadshot, Bullseye and other top level mercs but especially Pike, Ravager and Battlestone (the other surviving members of Team Cerberus).

Temporary Insanity: While Deathstroke can regenerate from even the most mortal of wounds, recovering from the Dying condition renders him insane and animalistic for a short period of time.

Background: Much of the adult life of Slade Wilson isn't known due to his working for the American Government as part of Top Secret Special Ops teams, though it is known that he was part of the Army Rangers originally before he was recruited into Team Cerberus, and he never shared much about himself with his teammates. When Slade and the other survivors of the team went into hiding, Slade took his family with him; getting false identities for himself and his pregnant wife Adeline.

Slade used various connections he'd developed during his time serving his country to travel to Africa and set himself up as a safari hunter, eventually developing a reputation as one of the the best of his time but the truth was that Slade forged a second new identity - that of Deathstroke, the Terminator, using the knowledge he had acquired from his military training and the physical enhancements he'd gained to become one of the greatest mercenary.

Slade managed to live his double secret life for several years before his family, which had grown to include two sons (Grant and Joseph) learned his secret. This was due to a group of hired mercenaries breaking into the family's mansion and kidnapping Joseph despite Adeline's attempts to fight them off while Slade was gone (actually finishing up a contract he'd taken on). When he returned home and learned what had happened, Slade came clean to Adeline and told her the truth of his activities and together they flew to Tangiers and squared off against a rival mercenary known as the Jackal. The Jackal wanted Slade to reveal important information relating to a client or else he would have his men kill Joseph.

Slade gambled that he could save his son before the Jackal could give the order but Joseph's throat was slashed by the Jackal before Slade could prevent it. Despite getting the boy to a local hospital, Joseph died from the injury and Adeline, enraged at his part in the death of her son, tried to kill Slade by shooting him but only managed to take out Slade's right eye. Afterward, his confidence in his physical abilities was such that Slade made no secret of his impaired vision, marked by his mask which has a black featureless half covering his lost eye. They divorced soon after. Adeline would later learn that she was pregnant with the Slade’s third child, a daughter, Rose. She kept the girl a secret from Slade for years, as Slade continued his mercenary work and Adeline moved the family fairly regularly to keep him from finding them easily.

After these events, Deathstroke continued his mercenary life and has upheld his reputation as perhaps the best metahuman mercenary for hire. He's had dealings with members of the Freedom League, the Sentinels and Champions (both individual members as well as groups gatherings) as well as several solo operating heroes over the years.

Complications:
Motivation: Pike likes the rush of using his metahuman abilities and using them to make himself as much money as possible.

Rivalry: As one of the world's top mercenaries, Pike has a rivalry with Deadshot, Bullseye and other top level mercs but especially Deathstroke, Ravager and Battlestone (the other surviving members of Team Cerberus).

Temporary Insanity: While Pike can regenerate from even the most mortal of wounds, recovering from the Dying condition renders him insane and animalistic for a short period of time.

Background: Out of all the surviving members of Team Cerberus, Pike’s physical enhancements are the weakest (not that he lets that slow him down) but in the overall scheme of things he knows that he’s just not up to the level of his former teammates Deathstroke and Ravager. Where he went following the disbanding of Team Cerbreus isn't known but it seems that wherever he went, Pike furthered his fighting skills to the levels he now displays.

At some point he decided to come out of hiding, using the knowledge he had acquired from his military training and the physical enhancements he'd gained to become a metahuman mercenary, possibly inspired by the likes of Deathstroke (his former teammate on Team Cerberus). Pike has dealt with the Champions the most, particularly Seeker, as he was initially hired by Overshadow to capture the hero due to his ties to one of S.H.A.D.O.W.'s projects.

Temporary Insanity: While Ravager can regenerate from even the most mortal of wounds, recovering from the Dying condition renders him insane and animalistic for a short period of time.

Background: Little is known about where Bronson went after Team Cerberus fell apart, he'd been spotted in various Middle Eastern countries over the years but what he was doing couldn't be determined and he disappeared before authorities were able to apprehend him. When Slade Wilson's identity as Deathstroke became public knowledge Bronson returned to the U.S., taking on the identity of the Ravager in an effort to prove he was the better assassin and often times will spend his time in between jobs chasing after Deathstroke in an effort to disrupt the other man's efforts to complete his contracts.

Several years later he became part of the metahuman mercenary community calling himself Battlestone - selling himself on the fact that he can get into virtually anywhere. This is done thanks to a AI program, called Roam, that Stone somehow acquired during his years in hiding.

Complications:
Big Shoes To Fill (early in career): Being the lone remaining member of the Green Lantern Corps, he can sometimes become overwhelmed with the role and his responsibilities.

Enemy: Annihilus, Hector Hammond, Sinestro, Thanos.

Power Loss: The Power Ring needs periodic recharging and issues a warning as its power runs low.

Responsibility: Uphold the honor the Green Lantern Corps, protect the Worldmind, and the galaxy.

Weakness: Green Lantern Power Rings depend on the willpower of the wearer; the maximum rank of the ring’s effects is equal to the wearer’s Will rank, and moments of self-doubt or hesitation can cause the ring to fail.

Background: Richard Rider, a student at the fictional Harry S. Truman High School in Hempstead, New York, is chosen by a dying alien named Abin Sur whose spacecraft had crashed on Earth. Abin Sur used his Power Ring to seek out an individual who was "utterly honest and born without fear" to take his place as the last member of the Green Lantern Corps. Having been mortally wounded in the battle that tore the planet Xandar apart, Sur succeeds in tracking Zorr (the being responsible for the destruction of Xandar) to Earth but is unable to defeat him due to the extent of his injuries. Near death, Sur chooses to transfer his power to an unsuspecting human on the planet below, praying that whomever he finds will take up his cause.

Rider gains the uniform and Power Ring of a Green Lantern, but had little instruction on how to use it. Overjoyed, Rider eagerly takes up the life of a superhero, first fighting, and defeating, Zorr, then the various costumed super villains in New York and gradually learning how to control his new abilities. Calling himself Green Lantern, he makes arch-enemies out of street level thugs and cosmic level threats alike, fighting villains such as Condor, Hector Hammond, Powerhouse, Javelin, Major Disaster, Diamondhead Dr. Polaris, the Sphinx and Sinestro.

Of all of them, Sinestro was the most dangerous and one of the more powerful as he possessed a ring that was identical to Richard's - except that Sinestro's ring was yellow as were the constructs it created. The alien criminal possessed knowledge about the ring and armor that both intrigued and frustrated Richard like none of his other opponents. At first Sinestro thought that Richard wasn't really a threat given his very basic understanding of his abilities but soon Richard proved to be skilled in quickly mastering the weapons and using them in unique ways that were surprising to Sinestro, which allowed the young man to gain many of his victories over the more experienced opponent.

Eventually Sinestro teamed up with the Sphinx and due to their actions Richard found himself lost in space with no clue of where he was nor how he could return home. Over the span of several months Richard traveled to a number of different planets, learning about the legacy of the Green Lantern Corps, which were a group of beings who had patrolled the various sectors of space a few decades previous that used the similar devices to the ones he'd gotten from Abin Sur. Finally Richard met the rumored 'Lost Lantern' known as Mogo, a being that is a sentient or "living" planet, that had become unconscious due to the loss of his connection to the emerald energy he used to sustain his higher intellectual functions (due to the destruction of the Green Lantern Corps decades earlier) and his planet sized body had drifted until it became caught in the gravitational pull of a star in Sector 1014. Richard's presence on Mogo and his use of his power ring to aid in his survival gave off enough of the emerald energy to semi-awaken Mogo to the point that he managed to direct Richard to his core where the human directly fed some of his ring's energy back into the older being.

The following weeks were spent with Mogo educating Richard as to the history of the Green Lantern Corps as he took them to the planet Oa, the former base of that group. On Oa Richard found the Worldmind Battery, a living supercomputer that was the regulator of the main emerald battery, which in turn powered the rings the members of the Corps wore (among it’s data consists the entire history of the Green Lantern Corps as well as copies of the individual minds of the Guardians, the race that first founded the Green Lantern Corps and built Worldmind). With Mogo's help Richard was able to repair the damage that had been done to Worldmind and bring it back online.

Once Worldmind had been brought up to date on what had transpired since it had been last operational it decided that there was still a need for the Green Lantern Corps, and working with Mogo, began recruiting new Green Lanterns from across the galaxies to train as the next generation of the Green Lantern Corps. Richard helped as well as the only active Green Lantern, teaching the new recruits in the basics of how to use the Power Ring and Armor, and in their downtime they transferred Worldmind onto Mogo's surface in an effort to better protect the Corps in the future.

Tiring of life so far from his home and hoping to rejoin his friends and family after being gone for over two years, Richard requested to be released from his duties to be returned to Earth. When he is told he must relinquish his ring and armor in order to do so; to which Rider reluctantly agreed. What Richard was unaware of however was the fact that the Worldmind had secretly hidden his Power Ring and armor in subspace, programmed to only answer Richard’s call for them under certain circumstances. Worldmind did this as a failsafe in case whatever had wiped out the Corps decades earlier returned then at least one Green Lantern could possibly return to active duty and hopefully restore the Corps again.

Upon his return to earth, Rider lived a quiet life working as a cook at a fast food restaurant and barely making ends meet due to his disrupted education. He found that much of his prior life has passed him by and searches for a way to regain the powers he relinquished. Rider consults Reed Richards, of the Challengers of the Fantastic, to see if he could regain his powers. Richards discovers Rider’s connection to subspace but doesn’t say anything about it as he theorizes that only a high-stress situation would be enough to stimulate the kind of response needed for Rider to access whatever it was in subspace. Unknown to Rider, is that during this period the Green Lantern Corps continues to grow, and he is considered to be an important part of their history as the "Torch-Bearer"; the Green Lantern who carried the legacy through the Corps' darkest period.

In a bid to secure new super-powered allies, the superhero Moonwing breaks into S.H.I.E.L.D. computers and steals the data of Mr. Fantastic's examination of Rider and other super-powered individuals. Moonwing is sure that he can subject Rider to a high-stress situation that will be enough to reactivate Rider's powers and open him up to recruitment into the group he was trying to assemble. To that end, Moonwing kidnaps Rider and drops him off the top of a multi-story building only for Rider's Green Lantern equipment to emerge from subspace storage just moments before impact, saving his life.

Although highly annoyed at Moonwing’s cavalier attitude, Rider joins his group, the New Warriors, who first appeared as a team aiding Thor in his fight against the Juggernaut. Though their first battle pitted them against Terrax the Tamer, their adventures together typically include dealing with villains of a more Earthly origin as well as Green Lantern's old foe the Sphinx. During this time, Rider begins dating teammate Aquagirl and becomes close friends with Speedball. While he was working with the New Warriors, Rider's parents learned that he had once again become Green Lantern which becomes a source of tension between them until finally following an argument Rider moves out of the family home and into the Warrior’s headquarters.

Functioning for several years as an Earth-bound superhero with no connection to the growing Green Lantern Corps, Rider eventually encounters Sinestro once again who is now on a quest to absorb the entirety of the emerald energy that all Green Lantern’s made use of. Having failed in his effort to destroy the Green Lantern Corps, Sinestro now seeks to pervert their source of power for his own twisted Corps – the Sinestro Corps. Stripping Rider of his powers for a second time, Sinestro transports Rider to Mogo (who is now controlled by Sinestro) and forces him to assist in the process of converting the emerald energy into the yellow his custom ring channels.

In the end Rider managed to defeat Sinestro following a battle of willpower for control of Worldmind (who had been dominated like Mogo) and despite the loss of some of the emerald energy to the villain, which he used to empower the core membership of his Sinestro Corps, Rider rejoined the Green Lantern Corps and his title as the Torch-Bearer was formally recognized within the group by unanimous vote of it’s membership.

Following this, Rider went on a lengthy self-imposed exile into space. He decided to do this as to establish a stronger connection to the Green Lantern Corps and having decided that his life on Earth had become somewhat stagnate – he was still living at the Warriors HQ, he’d broken up with Aquagirl and she’d left the team due to the tension that was left between the two of them and his relationship with his family was at an all-time low, and he could use this time to try and figure out what to do to straighten out his life on Earth. So after returning home to inform his family and friends of his choice, Rider finds himself joining the Green Lantern Corps in their fight against the Annihilation Wave; an invasion force from the Negative Zone and led by a creature calling itself Annihilus.

During the Annihilation War Rider takes command of the Honor Guard, an elite group of Green Lanterns who are not restricted to one sector, who serve as leaders of the Corps, troubleshooters and special operatives. In a nearly year-long campaign, Rider almost succeeds in pushing back the Wave's advance across the galaxy. When Annihilus utilizes the stolen power of his captive Galactus to destroy an entire planet, Rider switches tactics; he leads a small team deep into the Wave's conquered territory, intent on assassinating Annihilus himself. Forging alliances with the likes of Blastaar along the way, Rider eventually engages Annihilus himself in personal combat, killing him and halting his wave of destruction.

After the Annihilation war, Rider began to proactively police the universe. When Worldmind insists Rider rest, he returns home to Earth. Angry that his pleas for help in the Annihilation War were ignored for the Civil War and feeling out of place on Earth combined with the hostile feel with the Registration Act in place, Rider returns to the Green Lantern Corps and the peace of space to continue his duty.

Notes & Comments wrote:Just a fun side build here, inspired by the pic used that I found while surfing the net looking for something else. So I thought I'd try and take stab at fusing the two characters together.

Overall I like how it came out, all the major parts are in there and are easily recognized and the history came together a little easier than I first thought it would (of course it helps that Marvel kinda ripped off half of GL's backstory for Nova's....).

And to give credit where it's due, I did use Thorp's builds of Hal & Rich for reference.

Yep, though it's not what one might expect with having Aphrodite as your patron/backer. It was submitted by Kaisus and you can find Hunter here.

Thanks, it was a fun build to do.

In fact I figured I'd do similar kind of build, an Amalgam.

Real Name: Robert Bruce Fairchild
Height: 8’8”
Weight: 1150 - 2,400 lbs (approximately)
Hair: Black
Eye Color: White (glow green when using powers)

Complications:
Motivation ~Destruction: Armageddon wants nothing less than to kill every man, woman and child on the planet so that he can ‘be with’ Lady Death and finally be loved.

Power Loss: If Armageddon is somehow separated from Smiley he begins to slowly lose his powers (though he immediately loses his Practically Unstoppable powers), becoming physically weaker, and even dying if parted from Smiley for a long enough span of time. But if Smiley is returned to him, even if he is dead, Armageddon will recover all of his lost abilities.

Reputation: Armageddon is known for his massively destructive rampages that always have high body counts due to his vicious nature. Simply put when he shows up people immediately start to run in fear of their lives.

Background: Bruce Fairchild was a young boy who possessed supernatural powers to sketch scenes, which would later come to pass. Bruce originally had an enjoyable life, but things started to turn sour when his father became the town pariah when his superiors at the local lumber yard forced him to lay off many workers. Mr. Fairchild began to drink heavily and killed Bruce's pet rat, Smiley, in an inebriated fit of anger. This enraged Bruce and led to him drawing a picture of a car crashing into a tree. It just so happened that his mother was driving over to a local bar to pick up her husband while he was drawing this and ended up crashing into a tree just like in Bruce's sketch. In addition to suffering numerous injuries, she had a miscarriage of the fetus she was carrying, which caused her to slip into an abusive psychosis matching her husband's.

As his parents abused him, Bruce's powers developed further to where he could hear the thoughts of those around him and he discovered that many of his neighbors knew that he was being battered by his parents, but did nothing to help him. Either they had lost their jobs at the lumber yard and were too bitter to care or they still had their jobs, but were too afraid of losing them if they confronted his father.

Bruce's parents sought to "cure" him of his abilities and brought him to Dr. Leonard Samson, who had been working on a behavioral therapy device dubbed the Dream Probe. Samson, not knowing about the abuse Bruce was suffering, submitted him to his device, which sent him to the Endless Graveyard, where he met Lady Death. There, she offered to give him the love he so desperately desired if he killed everything on Earth. Once the treatment was over, Bruce pretended to be cured and went home with his parents, only to murder them the next morning along with thirty-five others before he was shot by Doctor Samson, who had come to check in on him following his treatment with the Dream Probe.

Bruce was incarcerated in a mental asylum as he was deemed mentally unfit to stand trial under the observation of Doctor Samson, who blamed himself for Bruce's murder spree and vowed to make sure it never happened again. Doctor Samson lost hope for Fairchild early on, but then a young female doctor named Betty Ross invented a process of altering one's mind known as Neurotech and wanted to have Bruce be the first test subject given his public profile.

Despite Samson's protests Bruce was submitted to the Neurotech device but during the treatment Lady Death used her telepathic link with Bruce to show him how to escape and caused a distraction to help him through the smiley face pin Dr. Ross had given Bruce when she’d first met him. Killing several of the nurses and orderlies, Bruce did manage to escape from the asylum and made his way onto a restricted test site for new kind of nuclear weapon known as a G-Bomb (due to it’s possessing a high gamma radiation output). When the Gamma Bomb detonated it sent out intense waves of radiation that covered the surface of the testing area, and Banner was irradiated with the highly charged radioactive particles which nearly killed him.

Lady Death then used Bruce’s smiley face pin as a conduit for her arcane energy, that together with the gamma radiation transformed Bruce into the powerful monster that would become known as Armageddon, whose purpose would be to try to cause what he calls ‘Megadeth’ - the killing every person on the face of the planet to fulfill his end of the bargain he made with Lady Death.

Notes & Comments wrote:While I was working on the Richard Rider, Green Lantern build I recalled this character (done by Wizard magazine during the first wave of Amalgam Comics back in the early 90s) who is a mixture of the Hulk & Evil Ernie.

Again it’s a case of my thinking the overall concept was a pretty cool one and wanted to try and build him in 3e. Overall he pulls more from Ernie than Hulk in his background but I tried to toss in a couple more references that pulled from Hulk’s side to help even things out a touch.

Honestly I like how he turned out.

Lastly, for his Summon I used Prodigyduck’s Plague Zombie.
