I have Killer Croc coming down the line very soon. He'll be a PL 8 bruiser focused on grappling. Later on I also plan on doing Two-Face, PL 8 as well, but focusing on having lots of minions.

I don't know that much about the system yet, but should Killer Croc and Two-Face really be the same power level as Harley Quinn?

Well in Harley's Defense she's a very weak PL 8 (I only spent 90pp building her), a regular PL 8 would have 120pp

Check out the Killer Croc from "Hush" It is an excellent, although mutated, version of him.

My first attempt at Poison Ivy. I'm positive there are oversights and errors. I now consider this my Final Version.

Poison Ivy
PL: 10 (150 PP)

Abilities: Str 10 (+0), Dex 16 (+3), Con 14 (+2), Int 18 (+4), Wis 14 (+2), Cha 22 (+6)

Skills: Bluff +10, Craft (Chemicals) +10, Diplomacy +10, Disguise +11, Intimidate +10, Knowledge (Botany) +15, Knowledge (Chemistry) +10, Sense Motive +10, Sleight of Hand +10

Feats: Attractive:2, Precise Shot:2, Favored Environment (Forest), Favored Environment (Jungle), Attack Focus (Ranged):2, Fascinate (Bluff), Equipment:2, Dodge Focus:2, Defensive Roll:2, Inventor;

Powers: Plant Control:10 (Alternate: Animate Objects:10, Alternate: Photosynthesis:10), Device: Poison Lipstick (Drain(Constitution):10, Extra:Poison; Alternate: Mind Control:10), Immunity:1

Equipment: Costume (+3 Toughness), Wrist Crossbow (Weapon, +3 Ranged)

Saves: Toughness +7/4 (+5/2 flatfooted), Fort +5, Reflex +4, Will +4

Combat: Base Attack +7, Melee +7, Ranged +9, Defense: 20 (14 flatfooted), Init: +3

Costs: Abilities 34 + Skills 24 + Combat 30 + Feats 16 + Powers 40 + Saves 6 = 150

Image

Critiques: I have made her saves too low, but I'm not sure what to take away from her to increase them.
Edited: Corrected her plant control power. Changed the art to Balent, corrected some stats to make her more logical and to closer resemble MDSnowman's build.

My next character will be Scarecrow since Baron already did a Catwoman. :)

My second character, the Scarecrow.

The Scarecrow
PL:
9 (135 PP)

Abilities:
Str 10 (+0), Dex 14 (+2), Con 10 (+0), Int 16 (+3), Wis 12 (+1), Cha 16 (+3)

Skills: Bluff +10, Craft (Chemicals) +11, Diplomacy +10, Disguise +5, Intimidate +10, Knowledge (Behavioral Sciences) +11, Knowledge (Physical Sciences) +11, Sense Motive +10, Sleight of Hand +8, Stealth +10

Feats: Attack Focus (Melee), Kung Fu (Defensive Attack, Improved Block, Improved Critical, Improved Sunder, Improved Trip, Instant Up, Power Attack, Startle), Assessment, Fearsome Presence:5, Master Plan, Distract:4, Equipment:2, Inventor;

Powers: Device: Fear Transmitters [Emotional Control:10, Extra:Duration(Continuous), Extra:Area (Cone), Flaw: One Emotion (Fear), Flaw:Sense Dependent] [Paralyze:10, Extra: Area (Cone), Extra: Range (Ranged)]

Equipment: Scythe +3 melee weapon, Costume +3 toughness

Combat: Attack +6, Defense +18 ((14 flatfooted), Init +3

Saves: Toughness +3/0, Fort +0, Reflex +2, Will +3

Costs: Abilities 18 + Skills 24 + Combat 28 + Feats 21 + Powers 42 + Saves 2 = 135

Image

Critiques: The kung-fu comes from the wikipedia article saying Crane is an accomplished martial artist. I'm not a big comic-book reader, so I've never seen evidence of that, but I had points to use. Again the saves are low for my comfort level. If I increased him to PL 10, I would add more saves and more combat abilities. I don't feel comfortable making Professor Crane the equal of the Joker or Poison Ivy (both of whom fit into level 10 fairly well, perhaps Joker should be level 11). The fear power strikes me as very powerful anyway. If I were going to do Catwoman, I would make her PL9 as well.

Next will be Barbara Gordon as Batgirl, built as PL7.

Feats: Attractive:2, Attack Focus (Melee):6, Dodge Focus:6, Improved Init:2, Move-by-Action:1, Kung-Fu:8 (Defensive Attack, Improved Block, Improved Critical, Improved Trip, Instant Up, Power Attack, Sunder, Startle), Fascinate (Bluff), Skill Mastery (Climb, Stealth, Disable Devices, Acrobatics), Equipment:4, Sneak Attack:2, Seize Initiative, Evasion:2, Accurate Attack, Defensive Roll:3;

Equipment: Cat Claws (Strike:2, Mighty, Improved Critical; Wall-Crawling:2) [8 EP], Whip (Extra: Swing-line) [7 EP], Nightvision Goggles, Smoke Bombs [4 EP]; 20 EP

Combat: Attack +6, Melee +12, Defense 24 (14 flatfooted), Init +13

Trade-Offs: +3 Attack, -3 Damage, +5 Defense, -5 Toughness;

Saves: Toughness +4 (+1 flatfooted), Fort +7, Reflex +9, Will +7

Costs: Abilities 30 + Skills 22 + Feats 40 + Combat 28 + Saves 15 = 135 PP

Image

Critiques:

Very Late Edit: Modified her defense and toughness saves by changing Defensive Roll points to Dodge Focus points. Also modified her equipment and feats very slightly. More edits reflecting defensive roll v. costume points. 7/14/07

Edit: Heavy revisions to combat and feats in order to increase saves. 7/24/09

My Barbara Gordon Batgirl.

Skills: Acrobatics +9, Climb +9, Computers +8, Diplomacy +5, Drive +8, Escape Artist +8, Investigate +8, Knowledge (Law Enforcement) +6, Notice +8, Search +6, Sense Motive +4, Stealth +9;

Feats: Attack Focus (Ranged):3, Attractive, Dodge Focus:10, Evasion, Sneak Attack:2, Improved Initiative, Equipment:8, Acrobatic Bluff, Eidetic Memory, Assessment, Improved Disarm, Skill Mastery (Climb, Acrobatics, Stealth, Notice), Throwing Mastery, Quick Change, Accurate Attack;

Trade-Offs: Tough -3, Defense +3, -2 Damage SV DC, +2 Attack Bonus

Saves: Toughness +4/1 (+4/1 flatfooted), Fort +5, Reflex +7, Will +4

Costs: Abilities 24 + Saves 12 + Skills 22 + Combat 12 + Feats 34 = 105

Image

Critiques: Finished!

Edit: Took away an evasion rank for defensive roll to max her toughness save after the trade-off. She was getting pummeled by Catwoman in simulated combats and hopefully this will help somewhat. Added to her attack roll by the damage dc trade-off, added Quick Change feat.

Next: I'm not sure. All the DC characters I really love have been done.[/b]

Next I'll expose my ignorance of the system by pitting Catwoman against Batgirl.

I'm surprised at the lack of comments. I guess not that many people have their books yet.

Edited all characters to reflect flat-footed and the differences between ranged and melee attacks.

Since I have this thread all to myself, I'm going to post a road map of the PP levels I feel the Gotham characters should operate at. I've learned a lot from other threads, both negative and positive things.

210 PP (PL 14 for pc's): Batman

180 PP (PL 12): Ultimate Clayface

165 PP (PL 11): Ra's Al Ghul

150 PP (PL 10): Joker (+), Poison Ivy, Clayface II, Man-Bat (-)

135 PP (PL 9): Scarecrow, Catwoman, Nightwing (+), Mr. Freeze (+)

120 PP (PL 8): Two-Face, Riddler, Penguin, Mad-Hatter (-)

105 PP (PL 7): Batgirl II

90 PP (PL 6): Harley Quin, Any Robin

A + indicates someone I think could be moved up. A - indicates someone I think could be moved down.

Feel free to comment or suggest other characters. I don't think I'll be creating anyone else, but other people definetely should. :)

Edit: Thanks to whoever added my characters to wiki. I think I'm the first 2e Batman characters there, despite my characters being overshadowed by better creations on the boards.

I like what I see. Everything seems pretty solid to me. Im not a huge DC fan mostly I get a few trades(paperback) so I dont know to much about the eras of bat-folk and what not but everything seems to jive from what I know about the characters. Good work I say.

Im not sure there are many "better" creations on the boards seeing as I havent got my book yet. I will confess a great fondness for MDSnowmans designs and battles however. I think he sets the bar pretty high.

These look good. My only disagreement is that I think Nightwing should be at least PL 10 (at least equal to the Joker, and higher than Poison Ivy).

Otherwise, good work.

I think you can make a great case that Nightwing should be PL10. I, personally, am just going to use MDSnowman's Nightwing and his is at PL10 so that's fine with me. I don't think Nightwing, necessarily, should be the equal of the Joker. He is the Joker's physical superior, but probably doesn't have the same device/gadget/equipment arsenal available.

Unless you make the "Pretty Poison" Poison Ivy from the Animated Series (no powers, just the lipstick and crossbow; though it can be argued even in that episode that she has some plant control ability given how the flytrap seems to respond to her wishes), it would be hard to fit her into 135 PP in my opinion. MDSnowman might be able to do it and I'm eager to see his take on the character.

If you gave Ivy all of the powers she's had at times (Plant Control, Mind Control, Poison Touch, Photosynthesis, Animate Objects) she'd have to have no combat ability at all or be even higher than 150 PP and that's just not how I visualize her.

My PL6 version of the Spoiler

Critiques: As I build characters, I can immediately see when I have too many PP (I felt that way with Catwoman, who lacks powers and devices). Ms. Brown is way too powerful. Her utility belt is better than Batgirl's and she has more feats than any of my builds (though not as many ranks).

I was aiming for a mini-Batman type character. Lots of feats/skills, but not many of them particularly well-trained. I think, though, that she ended up too powerful. Perhaps the Robin-type characters should be PL 5 (75 PP).

Edit: Increased her saves through tweaks. 7/24/09
