Complications: Reputation (disgraced by recent events, Civil War, Secret Invasion)

 Tony Stark has internalized the inner layers of his Extremis armor, permitting him to use Datalink at a worldwide range and any satellite in Earth’s orbit. He may use this power to summon his Extremis armor. The nanites also provide Tony with a healing factor, allowing him to regrow lost or damaged organs.

 The main features of Iron Man’s armor are the vast weapons systems. If he really needs to do something, he can blow a Hero Point to reroute system resources and stunt a new power off of his Enhanced Strength.

:!: Update 12/7/08 :!: Well past time for an update. This one trims as much fat from the build as I can, retaining only the most important characteristics as of the end of Secret Invasion.

Taliesin wrote:Yeah, to me, it's between Magneto and Doom.

I think with Magneto it was the simple fact that you, as the reader, could emphasize with his goal, especially given his background as a survivor of a concentration camp. It made him, for lack of a better term, human.

As for Doom's appeal, he's a scenery-chomping dictator and crazied scientist (two of the staple villains) in one tidy little package, so what's not to love.

Nice builds BTW. The Magneto isn't quite my speed with the altnerate energy controls, but that can be nerfed easily enough.

For a streamlined Magneto, I highly recommend MDS's. For the Magneto who has everything, well, there's always yours truly! :D

Now if only I could make this big behind disappear...

Invisible Woman
Susan Storm Richards

Power Level: 11 (165pp)

Abilities: STR: 12 (+1), DEX: 14 (+2), CON: 12 (+1), INT: 14 (+2), WIS: 16 (+3), CHA: 16 (+3)

Skills: Concentration 12 (+15), Diplomacy 12 [16] (+15 [+21]), Knowledge [Business] 4 (+6), Perform [Acting] 8 (+11), Pilot 8 (+10), Profession [Teacher] 4 (+7), Stealth 4 (+6)

Feats: Attractive, Equipment, Improved Initiative, Leadership, Teamwork

Powers:
Create Object 11 [Force Constructs] (Dynamic; Extra: Movable [+1]; Power Feat: Subtle [invisible]; 35pp)
DAP: Blast 11 [Force Bolt] (Extra: Autofire [+1]; Power Feat: Subtle [invisible]; 2pp)
DAP: Immunity 9 (Life Support; Extras: Affects Others [+1], Area [Shapeable; +1]; 2pp)
Force Field 12 (12pp)
Invisibility 4 (all visual; Extra: Area [Shapeable; +1], Attack [+1]; Power Feats: Close Range, Selective; 18pp)
Nullify 6 (any Invisibility effect; 6pp)
Super-Senses 3 (Invisibility Awareness [Accurate]; 3pp)

Equipment: Costume (5ep): Protection 2, Commlink, GPS Receiver, PDA

Combat: Attack +9; Damage +1 (Unarmed) / +11 (Blast, Autofire); Defense +9 (+5 flat-footed); Initiative +6

Abilities 24 + Skills 13 (52 ranks) + Feats 5 + Powers 78 + Combat 36 + Saves 9 – Drawbacks 0 = Total 165

Complications: Fame (public identity), Responsibility (family)

 I tried to find a balance between Claremont’s overpowered Invisible Woman and the shrinking violet some other writers have cast Sue. If the GM allows her to use her Force Field ad nauseum on her teammates, things can get broken very quickly, so I’ve kept her Force Field at Personal range (and this doesn’t stack with her costume’s Protection) while allowing Create Object to represent Sue’s ability to shield her teammates (which can be imbalancing, as well, but at least it’s legal).

 I’ve limited her alternate powers, except for Blast and Immunity. She has demonstrated Force Shatter, Snare, Suffocate, and a multitude of other powers listed under Force Constructs, but these are best handled with stunts.

 Note that Sue’s force fields are generally considered pliable, but she can stunt an unyielding, Impervious version, but the harder she makes them, the more likely she’ll suffer a psychic backlash when they are damaged, so even out the Impervious with a Feedback flaw for the power stunt.

:!: Update 3/11/09 :!: Minor tinkering with the build, mainly renaming powers for those who don’t have UP.

Imperius Rex!

Namor (the Sub-Mariner)

Power Level: 14 (210pp)

Abilities: STR: 36 [40] (+13, +15 underwater), DEX: 18 (+4), CON: 32 [36] (+11, +13 underwater), INT: 14 (+2), WIS: 16 (+3), CHA: 16 (+3)

Skills: Diplomacy 8 (+11), Handle Animal 8 (+11), Intimidate 10 (+13), Knowledge [Civics] 8 (+10), Languages 2 (Atlantean, German; base: English), Notice 8 (+11), Pilot 4 (+8), Survival 8 (+11)

Feats: Benefit 4 (Status: Prince of Atlantis, Wealth 3), Environmental Adaptation [Underwater], Favored Environment [Underwater] 4, Leadership, Power Attack

Powers:
Animal Mimicry 4 (Flaws: Limited [sea animals only; -1], Tiring [-1]; 28pp)
Comprehend 2 (Animals 2 [speak and understand]; Flaw: Limited [sea animals; -1]; 2pp)
Enhanced Strength 4 (Flaw: Limited [underwater only; -1]; 2pp)
Enhanced Constitution 4 (Flaw: Limited [underwater only; -1]; 2pp)
Flight 3 (50 MPH; 6pp)
Immunity 4 (Aging, Environmental Conditions 2 [cold, high pressure], Suffocation [breathe normally underwater]; 4pp)
Impervious Toughness 12 (Flaw: Limited [underwater only; -1]; 6pp)
Super-Strength 5 (Heavy Load: 57.5 tons, 100 tons underwater; 10pp)

Combat: Attack +11 // +2 (underwater); Damage +13 (Unarmed) // +2 (underwater); Defense +13 (+7 flat-footed) // +2 (underwater); Initiative +4

Saves: Toughness +11 // +2 (underwater), Fortitude +13 / +15 (underwater), Reflex +8, Will +8

Drawbacks: Weakness (lack of water, exposure to fire/heat effects; Very Common, Major [-1 to all physical ability scores], every 20 minutes, potentially lethal; -6pp)

Abilities 72 + Skills 14 (56 ranks) + Feats 11 + Powers 60 + Combat 48 + Saves 11 – Drawbacks 6 = Total 210

Complications: Responsibility (ruler of Atlantis), Temper

 Namor reigns supreme at PL14 underwater but drops to a less daunting PL12 once he’s out of his element. Namor has a collection of very minor powers, mostly permitting him to survive and function in an underwater environment. On occasion, Namor has demonstrated an ability to mimic the traits of certain sea creatures, such as the electrical charge of an eel. However, this isn’t consistently portrayed. There wasn’t a power I could reasonably stunt this ability off of, so I treated it as Animal Mimicry with the Tiring Flaw, requiring Extra Effort to use. The aforementioned mimicry of an electric eel would be something like Stun 4 (Extras: Aura [+1], Sustained [+2]). Namor has also used this power to acquire Super-Senses 4 (Blindsight [Sonar]).

 In Namor’s early appearances, he wielded the Horn of Monsters (also known by other names), which he used to summon sea monsters such as Giganto (treat as Sea Monster; p235, Mutants & Masterminds, 2nd Edition). Namor’s trident is noteworthy as a Device that can stack with his massive Strength bonus, which it would not as Equipment.

Device 7 “Horn of Monsters” [Easy to Lose] (21pp)
Traits: (35pp total)
Comprehend 2 (Animals [speak and understand]; Flaw: Limited [sea creatures only; -1]; 2pp)
Summon Minion 11 (Sea Monster; Extra: Fanatical [+1]; 33pp)

Device 2 “Trident” [Easy to Lose] (6pp)
Traits: (10pp total)
Strike 3 (Extra: Penetrating [+1]; Power Feats: Extended Reach, Improved Critical, Mighty, Thrown; 10pp)

:!: Update 10/1/07 :!: I really jacked up Namor’s power level underwater. Combined with the combat adjustments that land-based creatures suffer underwater, Namor should be able to handle nearly anyone in his environment and still be reasonable capable on land or in the air.

Heh, I really did try to avoid putting up a beefcake pic. :D I'm glad you like the anime-ish look. Kind of reminds me of Michael Turner's Fathom.

Personally, I saw a couple of issues of that particular miniseries (or whatever) once, and personally I prefer that Greek-style skirt that they gave to the guy (it's a little more presentable and all).

Personally, if it's what you could find, then it's not a problem. But I thought that it was worth mentioning.

BTW: FEAR THE SOURCE! You should try to stat him um, man, if nothing else but the laughs. I know I would use it (and 'Bob').

Well, there was a nice one with him and Sue, but I didn't like the beefcake pics, so...

And yeah, the Source would be a good build for me to do. That was my favorite episode.

Actually, not that one from Ultimate FF, I was thinking there were actually a few pics from the Namor miniseries that show him and Sue and no sign of Reed...

Still, Mister Fantastic must be doing something right to hold onto her.
