 The Thing is about as straightforward as they come. He isn’t quite as hard a hitter as the top tier powerhouses like the Hulk, but he makes up for it somewhat with greater accuracy and technique, even if it’s just brawling and grappling. Ben relies on his hard hide to protect him and uses All-Out Attack most of the time, sacrificing defense for accuracy. The Thing has demonstrated hardiness, such as during his bout with the Champion, that is greater than what his Toughness would otherwise indicate. This is an exercise of Hero Point usage and Ultimate Effort.

:!: Update 3/13/09 :!: Fixed a couple of typos and calculation errors.

Al Bundy is my hero!

Actually, it's some tour to Southeast Asia, meaning that we're going to one of the most humid places in the world during the heat of summer.

 The world’s most powerful telepath, Charles Xavier, is the mental counterpart to Magneto, but is flawed in many ways. Obviously, he’s not going to overpower anyone physically. His mental powers all have perception or extended range, so he can forgo making an actual attack roll to affect his targets. However, Xavier’s dynamic array is not wide, so he must operate each power singly or else lose effective ranks while spreading himself thin. Xavier’s Telepathy has the Rapid power feat applied to its Communication aspect, allowing him to communicate 100 times faster than usual—effectively almost instantaneously.

 I’m not certain that Professor X really inflicts damage with his Mental Blasts, so Stun might be more appropriate. Xavier can also use Mental Transform to alter memories or as a power stunt to inflict mindwipes (as he once did with Magneto). Illusion can be a flexible power, and in addition to planting images into his subjects’ minds, he can stunt Concealment off of it.

 Of course, Professor X can Detect Mutants radially, a power that is enhanced by Cerebro/Cerebra. In addition, his mental sense is Accurate, allowing him to use it to target Perception ranged effects in combination with ESP. Xavier’s Comprehend power is kind of a stunt he performs by probing a person’s language centers and copying their language abilities.

 Yes, I know he can apparently walk again and is depowered, but we’ll see if either condition lasts.

:!: Update 4/20/07 :!: Removed the Wide Extra from his Telepathy array and also lifted Astral Form from the array. He’s a perfectly balanced PL15 in terms of points, which for a psi like him, means he’s extremely formidable.

Do you feel a breeze?

Storm
Ororo Munroe

Power Level: 11 (165pp)

Abilities: STR: 12 (+1), DEX: 16 (+3), CON: 14 (+2), INT: 14 (+2), WIS: 18 (+4), CHA: 16 (+3)

Skills: Climb 4 (+5), Concentration 8 (+12), Disable Device 8 (+10), Escape Artist 4 (+7), Knowledge [Streetwise] 4 (+6), Knowledge [Tactics] 8 (+10), Languages 4 (Japanese, Russian, Shi’ar, Swahili; base: English), Notice 4 (+8), Pilot 4 (+7), Sleight of Hand 8 (+11), Stealth 8 (+11), Survival 8 (+12)

Feats: Attractive, Connected, Defensive Roll 2, Dodge Focus 5, Inspire, Leadership, Teamwork

Powers:
Flight 5 (250 MPH; Extra: Affects Others [+1]; Flaw: Platform [-1]; Power Feat: Progression 2 [five subjects]; 12pp)
Immunity 11 (all Weather effects, natural lightning; 11pp)
Super-Senses 4 (Precognition; Extra: Simultaneous [normal senses function; +1]; Flaw: Limited [to weather; -1]; 4pp)
Weather Control 14 (Dynamic, Mix-and-Match 2pp/rank, 25-mile radius; Cold, Distraction, Hamper Movement, Heat, Visibility; 29pp)
DAP: Air Control 14 (2pp)
DAP: Blast 13 [Lightning] (Power Feat: Indirect 2; 2pp)
DAP: Blast 7 [Tornado] (Extra: Area [Burst; +1], Concentration [+1]; 2pp)
DAP: Dazzle 9 (Visual and Auditory; 2pp)

Combat: Attack +9; Damage +1 (Unarmed) / +7 (Blast, Concentration Burst) / +13 (Blast, Indirect 2); Defense +11 (+3 flat-footed); Initiative +3

Saves: Toughness +4 (+2 flat-footed), Fortitude +5, Reflex +7, Will +8

Abilities 30 + Skills 18 (72 ranks) + Feats 12 + Powers 64 + Combat 30 + Saves 11 – Drawbacks 0 = Total 165

Complications: Accident (mood may trigger Weather Control), Obsession (claustrophobia), Prejudice (mutant)

 Storm came out surprisingly versatile. She’s decently trained in a lot of practical skills, owing to her criminal background; she’s a formidable combatant both hand-to-hand and at range; she can fill in as a capable field leader; and her Weather Control array is incredibly diverse.

 Storm can set her Weather Control to produce any of listed effects per the Mix-and-Max Environments optional rule in up to a 25-mile radius. As offense, she can call forth lightning bolts, form a tornado, or produce thunderclaps. Storm has an auxilliary ability to manipulate air, including to lift herself and others into the air.

 Storm is immune to powers and effects with the Weather descriptor, as well as to lightning. She can also predict the weather using Precognition. The Simultaneous Extra is taken from ESP, allowing Storm’s normal senses to function while she uses Precognition.

:!: Update 10/29/09 :!: I hadn’t updated Storm at all, and the build had become an eyesore. This build uses the Mix-and-Match Environments option for her Weather Control and generally streamlines some rough patches.

Thats has to be the most detailed Storm I ever seem, you even included her limited precognitive abilities!

That a cool Xavier build too!

I'm curious however, why didn't you make their powers wide especially Storm as she has shown various times in the comics that she can maintain multiple affects at full power? Charles on the other hand, I can understand your reasoning in not giving him Wide. But Never the less I now have what I need to make OnSlaught.
"Ah man, I guess I'm just going to have to kill you now!"

On second thought, you're right, but I gave her enough to maintain two powers at full effect and not more. It's usually going to be calling up a storm and then blasting people. I initially wanted the Blasts to only work after Storm has called up the proper weather conditions, but thought the better (or lazier) of it and didn't. Anyway, I bumped up her pp by giving her some skill ranks and another rank of Teamwork, as well as shoring up her Reflex save, which should have been higher, anyway.

She's 165pp now but her bonuses just added up to a PL10, so that's where she stays.

The real reason I came back as a female is to give fanboys something to stare at.

Loki
Loki Laufeyson

Power Level: 14 (226pp)

Abilities: STR: 26 [34] (+12), DEX: 14 (+2), CON: 26 (+8), INT: 18 (+4), WIS: 14 (+2), CHA: 34 (+12)

Skills: Bluff 16 (+28), Concentration 8 (+10), Craft [Artistic] 8 (+12), Gather Information 12 (+24), Knowledge [Arcane Lore] 16 (+20), Notice 8 (+10), Sense Motive 8 (+10)

Feats: Artificer, Attack Focus [Melee] 3, Challenges 2 (Conversational Paralysis, Durable Lie), Distract (Bluff), Fascinate (Bluff), Master Plan, Ritualist, Taunt, Well-Informed

Powers:
Density 4 (Extra: Continuous [+1]; Flaw: Permanent [-1]; 12pp)
Force Field 5 [Mystic Shield] (5pp)
Immunity 3 (Aging, Disease, Starvation and Thirst; 3pp)
Magic 14 (Power Feats: Accurate 3, Dimensional 2 [adjacent dimensions]; 33pp)
Base Power: Mystic Blast 14 (Dynamic; 1pp)
DAP: Animate Object 9 (2pp)
DAP: Boost 14 (any trait; Extra: Total Fade [+1]; Flaw: Others Only [-1]; 2pp)
DAP: Communication 14 (mental; 2pp)
DAP: ESP 7 (all senses; 2pp)
DAP: Illusion 7 (all senses; Extra: Selective Attack [+1]; Flaw: Phantasms [-1]; 2pp)
DAP: Morph 9 (any form; 2pp)
DAP: Teleport 14 [Mystic Passage] (2pp)
Super-Strength 4 (Heavy Load: ~50 tons; 8pp)

Density Effects
Strength +8, Impervious Protection 2, Immovable 1, Super-Strength 1, Mass x3

Combat: Attack +8 / +11 (Melee) / +14 (Magic); Damage +12 (Unarmed) / +14 (Mystic Blast); Defense +8 (+4 flat-footed); Initiative +2

Saves: Toughness +10 (+2 Impervious) / +15 (+2 Impervious, Mystic Shield), Fortitude +8, Reflex +6, Will +14

Abilities 72 + Skills 18 (72 ranks) + Feats 12 + Powers 76 + Combat 32 + Saves 16 – Drawbacks 0 = Total 226

Complications: Hatred (Thor), Reputation (world’s greatest liar, God of Mischief)

 Ah, the quintessential Avengers villain. True, Loki is really Thor’s archenemy just as the Red Skull is Captain America’s, and the…uh, Titanium Man is Iron Man’s. But the Avengers were formed in response to Loki’s machinations. Loki relies primarily on being behind the scenes, manipulating people to do his dirty work while he watches, as evidenced by his powers. He is the world’s greatest liar and should be able to Bluff nearly anyone. Loki is incredibly subtle at times, so much so that his influence is nearly unnoticeable, as he can work his mischief from other dimensions.

 Regardless of the supposed source of Loki’s various powers, they are all magical or godly in nature. Loki can use Boost to grant powers to villains, but permanent alterations actually require the villain to purchase the ability with his own power points or are derived from certain magical objects and should be a plot device. Likewise, Loki does have access to Asgardian artifacts, but these are usually one-shot deals. Moreover, Loki can stunt various other effects off of his Magic array or choose to cast them as rituals.

 Loki is not too shabby in actual combat, however, although he usually prefers to use his magical powers from a distance. He doesn’t have many combat feats, as direct combat isn’t his style, but with his Bluff bonus, Loki should be able to feint and Taunt extremely effectively or even keep a foe indefinitely Distracted.

:!: Update 3/4/09 :!: With Loki back and very nicely manipulating events in and around Asgard, I thought to update him/her some while I tackled Osborn’s Cabal. I increased his Strength and Charisma, dialed down his Magic array a little, and tried to keep the build from getting unwieldy.

An appropriate way to kick off 6/6/06, eh?

Ultimate Loki is even more subtle and manipulative, with his ability to reshuffle reality, but 616 Loki isn't too shabby, either.

And I've not seen a Loki build thus far, so that's an extra plus.

Yes I requested Loki back when I had like 30 posts under my name and finally he arrives! I just want to say damn! That is one great build it's interesting that you chose to give him Morph instead of Shape Shift. You are doing a great job and have taken some very cool steps to make your builds completely unique.

You da man! I also wanted to thank you for being cool enough to look at the Alpha Factor thread and comment when you notice something. I completely spaced the spell book thing so thanks man.

Well, I just wanted to get some of the more famous characters out of the way before doing Loki. I don't know if Loki actually takes on different traits when he takes different forms; it's usually illusionary. I think. If I'm wrong, let me know.

Thinking of Rogue and Sabretooth possibly and rounding off the FF with Human Torch.

I'm not sure if he takes on other traits ether. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the FF Johnny's my boy! and Rogue and Sabretooth are also characters I have always liked.
