Kikyo

A Shrine Maiden from Japan's feudal era, Kikyo was given the task of keeping the Shikon Jewel of 4 souls out of the wrong hands, and to use her holy powers to cleanse the artifact of it's inherently evil taint. during this time, Kikyo fell in love with the half-demon Inu-yasha, and secretly took to seeing after the dying bandit Onigumo, who in his lust for kikyo, sold his soul to demons, in turn becoming the demon Naraku, who then not only slew Kikyo, but at the same time took the form of Inu-yasha, thus damning kikyo's soul with hatred for her lover.

50 years passed, and Kikyo's spirit was called forth from the netherworld, and cast into a body of earth and clay that she would walk the earth once more. she has learned the circumstance of her death, and now seeks naraku's destruction like so many others, but at the same time she feels she cannot rest until she has come to a decision regarding her love and hate for inu-yasha...

Honestly one of the best ways to learn the combat system is to just sit down and do some mock fights. Not saying they need to be posted, but maybe take a couple of your less powerful builds and just roll out some one-on-one fights to get a feel for how combat works.

Besides, they can be a fun way to kill some time if you've got nothing better to do.
