Ironicly, the way I really wanted to build Temblor was with superstrength, as he's pretty much the walking demo reel for the groundstrike and shockwave feats, but since he never really made use of superstrength, i had to just build the power.

When the heroes arrive in Giza, they set out looking for the exact location of the mosque which is Dio's lair. Sitting in the shade of a bar, a dapper English-speaking gambler offers to tell them where it is if they'll make a wager with him. Polnareff is the first to attempt to gamble, and loses, at which point the gambler's Stand (Osiris, of the Egyptian Tarot)emerges from him and captures Polnareff's soul in the shape of a poker chip. The Stand User gambler, D'Arby, has been collecting souls for years; he is an expert at all games of chance, as well as a cheater, and if he dies, the hundreds of souls he owns will die as well.

Design notes: Literally written up in the space of 5 minutes, D'Arby is basicly an excuse to break out the gambling skill from MaMa, and build a guy more interested in 3 card monte than 3 rounds of combat

Tactics: D'Arby can't fight his way out of a wet rice paper bag, and he knows it. so, being the gentlemanly sort, he prefers to deal with his foes by challenging them to freindly wagers, and then taking their souls via Osiris when he wins. if they have freinds, he's more than willing to undo his damage, providing they suceed where the other guy failed, pointing out that if they kill him, their freinds souls will be lost forever.

I should also note, D'Arby cheats like a bastard, to the point where if the PCs get the idea of getting somebody else to deal cards, everyone in the immediate area is in fact going to cheat in Darby's favor.

on a final note, while D'Arby's forte are card games, he's willing to play any game of chance the players name, so feel free to use this as an excuse to get up from the table and try those do it yourself games of skill you've read about somewhere.

:arrow: supposedly the flagship character of Image Comics and iconic figure of the Iron Age, Spawn was once Al Simmons, a CIA assassin who cut a deal with the demon Malbolgia after he was murdered by his superiors. to whit, Al would get one last chance to see wanda and tell her good bye, and he would join the ranks of Malbolgia's hellspawn army. Naturally, Malbolgia cheated Al, who rebelled against his demonic master in return. now calling himself Spawn in a futile attempt to distance himself from his old life, he has taken to the alleys of the city, a reluctant yet lethal protector of the dispossessed and forgotten.

:arrow: mechanicly, I decided to go with a 'back to basics' approach to spawn, focussing upon the powers commonly associated with him and drawing more from the movie and animated series than the actual comics.

:arrow: For those wondering about Spawn's 'infernal battery' (he only has so much power before it runs out and he goes back to hell [read: dies]), I'm going to rule it similar to MDSnowman's house rule flash weakness: Spawn can pretty much power stunt anything in the book via extra effort, but if said stunt reduces him to unconscious or worse, he dies. this drawback will be factored into his stats just as soon as I figure out how much it costs (seeing as it's a pretty big weakness)

well, Al's career was such that he was already in hell when he was presented with malbolgia's bargain. and, at the time, there didn't seem to be much of a downside, seeing as he was eternally damned already.

:arrow: to build the redeemer, I in essence reverse engineered Spawn to create a living embodiment of divine wrath that could indeed be considered an Anti-Spawn (as Redeemer was first known). of particular note is that both he and Spawn are equally vulnerable to each other.

:arrow: tacticly, Redeemer prefers to use his heavenfire in melee combat, forming the burning blade depicted over the stump of his left arm and proceeding to go to town, fuelled by fanatacism as much as divine might
