I'm curious how you would do his "healing" power.

If I had to guess I'd probabably build it around a specialized boost that worked like Extraordinary effort, in so much as it can boost powers over their PL limits, but carried a number of side effects. Alternate powers may include Drain powers, or a penetrating & secondary effect strike with a variable descriptor.

It also sounds like a perfect application for the Insidious extra.

Very good suggestion.

Fight #1: Batman vs. Deadpool

The place, Gotham city, a nightclub called Deuces Wild. The numerous patrons all lay on the ground while a trio of thugs walks amongst them, taking their valuables and letting them get good looks at their pistols. In the back room their leader, the vicious Two-Face is cleaning out their safe, piling giant wads of cash into a bag as quickly as he can.

A crash echoes throughout the club, the skylight shatters and the unmistakable silhouette of the dark knight glides down to the floor. The thugs’ eyes go wide as their hands start to shake in fear. Two-Face run out of the backroom as quickly as he can to investigate and he curses out loud.

He reaches into his pocket pulling out his trademark coin. He casually flips it into the air and catches it. He glances down at it… good heads…

“Alright, boys, tear that Bat in two.” Two-Face growled.

The Thugs hesitate for a moment before they see the growing look of anger on Two-face’s split visage. They open fire, but before they can react the Batman is upon them. He throws a series of quick punches sending one man to the ground instantly, while he throws the second into the final thug knocking both men cold in the process. Batman steps toward Two-Face who scowls in anger. He pulls out the coin and flips it once again…. Bad Heads…. A twisted smile comes over Two-Face.

“Time to earn your pay buddy…” said the dichotomous gangster.

At the opposite end of the club a figure dressed head to toe in black and red tosses away an empty martini glass. He stands up slowly, bristling with weapons, submachine guns, pistols, even a pair of swords. Though his face is obscured by his mask Batman could almost feel this newcomer’s mouth curl into a smirk.

“Sorry Bats, pretty boy over there promised me double my fee if I could put you down.” Deadpool punctuated his sentence by drawing his sub machinegun.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For purposes of these fights everyone starts with Hero points equal to half their PL
Initiative: Batman spends a HP to re roll and gets a 23, Deadpool 18

Round 1:

Batman immediately hurls a Batarang across the club trying to knock the Submachine Gun out of Deadpool’s hand. However the clever Mercenary managed to evade the attack.

>>Disarm Attempt, Batman takes a –4 to hit to do it at range, and misses the flat footed Deadpool<<

Deadpool rolls to the side and opens fire with the sub machinegun. Before Batman can realize how good Deadpool is a bullet clips him in the shoulder. Causing the bat to wince in pain.

>>Deadpool just manages to hit Batman, who just manages to fail his damage save by one point. Batman takes one point of Injured Status and one point of Bruised Status<<

Round 2:

Batman dives behind a table tossing a small canister with his uninjured arm at Deadpool. Deadpool reacts quickly leaping to safety while a deafening boom and bright lights rock the location where the canister landed

>>Batman dives behind cover getting a +2 to his Defense, and throws a flash-bang provoking two DC14 reflex saves. However Deadpool succeeds both and spends a HP go gain the evasion feat thus avoiding the effects. <<

Deadpool chuckles at Batman’s attack. “Nice light show buddy… who made the that thing? The same person who told you that outfit made you look cool?” Deadpool punctuates his sentence by casually tossing a live grenade at the table Batman now finds himself behind.

>> Deadpool makes a Bluff check at –5 to taunt as a move action. Gets a 20. Batman rolls sense motive rolls a 27 and wins. Batman easily evades the explosion, and the ensuing shrapnel, but his cover is blown to pieces. <<

Round 3:

Batman’s eyes narrow. This man in a lunatic, he’s fighting without any regard to anyone else in the club. He rolls a small black ball across the floor which erupts in a green gas. Deadpool covers his mouth quickly backing away from the area but his movements are sluggish. Batman rushes forward.

>>Batman tosses Sleep gas this time, Deadpool makes his reflex save, but fails his Fortitude save. He’s currently fatigued –2 to Str and Dexterity, and –1 to Attack and Defense<<

Deadpool shakes his head and seeing Batman’s approaching raises his sub machinegun. He opens fire once again. The shot looks perfect but Batman drops to a knee quickly the burst of sub machinegun fire shredding his cape.

>>Deadpool spends a HP to shake off the fatigued status and hits big with his SMG netting him an extra +3 Damage. Batman has to spend a hero point but he makes the damage save. <<

Round 4:

Batman pounces up from his kneeling position bringing a hard fist right into Deadpool’s midsection. Deadpool lets out a loud breath at the sudden punch.

>>Batman makes an attack and hits Deadpool who fails his save, Deadpool takes one bruised hit. <<

Deadpool quickly rights himself and draws his sword taking a vicious swing at Batman’s neck. Batman manages to roll his head away from the sword, but not before he’s caught across the chest, drawing blood and disorienting the dark knight.

>>Deadpool makes a recovery check and instantly recovers from the bruised damage. Deadpool then Power Attacks and All-Out Attacks for 3 points each. He hits and Batman spends a hero point on the save, he fails by six. Takes an Injured and Bruised Status and is stunned. <<

Round 5:

Batman is on the ropes and he knows it. He fixes Deadpool with a cold gaze that caused even the Hardened mercenary to pause. With that moment of hesitation Batman levels a violent knee right to the mid-section.

>>Batman spends his 5th hero point to shake off his stunned status. He attempts to startle Deadpool, and rolls a natural 20, Deadpool’s Sense motive roll doesn’t measure up and he finds himself flat-footed. Batman Power Attacks for 3 and hits making the Damage Save DC 27. Deadpool spends a Hero Point and still fails by 9. He takes a bruised injured rank and is stunned. <<

Deadpool does what he can, but that consists of little else but wobbling around.

>>His regeneration removed his bruised status, but he can’t spend another hero point to shake off his stunned status. <<

Round 6:

Batman seeing that he has the upper hand throws another vicious punch to Deadpool’s stomach, wondering how he could be standing after taking so many well placed punches.

>> Batman Power attacks for five, and since Deadpool is still flat-footed he takes sneak attack damage. The DC is 29. However Deadpool rolls a natural 20 on his damage save! Just enough for him to walk away with only a bruised hit.<<

Deadpool narrows his eyes and swings his sword down quickly trying to force Batman away with a wild swing. Batman rolls away but not before the blade cuts deeply into his side.

>>Deadpool comes to and attacks, rolls a possible critical, and confirms it. The DC is 26. Batman rolls well on the toughness save and escapes only taking another bruised and another injured status bringing him up to three each. <<

Round 7:

Batman rolls backward throwing another Batarang this time it strikes Deadpool in the hand and he drops his sword.

>>Batman goes for another ranged disarm, but is successful this time. <<

Deadpool quickly draws his sub machinegun again trying to hit the quickly retreating Batman. The hail of bullet catches a much deplenished dark knight this time sending him reeling backwards toward the front of the club.

>>Deadpool All-Out Attacks for 2, and hits adding +1 to damage. Batman fails by seven takes a bruised and injured status, and finds himself stunned.<<

Batman tries desperately to stand back up as the Mercenary whistles idly walking up to him. He reaches down to his belt for another grenade tosses it right at Batman’s feet. Batman has little chance to do anything but look to Deadpool, still suprisingly unhurt after that beating. Deadpool gives Batman a wave before the grenade explodes sending Batman flying clean out of the club’s picture window, rolling across the pier its built on and into the water below.

Deadpool picks up his sword and sheaths it before walking past the destruction he caused and onto the pie. Burning rubble was strewn across the wood surface as Deadpool bent over and picked up something bringing it to his eye level. Batman’s cowl… Deadpool chuckled a bit as a shocked Two-face walked out of the club with several bags in hand.

“Did you kill him or not?” uttered Harvey.

“I sure hope not, that was too much fun…” remarked Deadpool

The Winner: Deadpool

In the end Deadpool's saves helped him duck the worst of Batman's utility belt. And of course his ability to rapidly regenerate from a Bruised state meant that most of Batman's physical attacks didn't amount to much. The irony here is simple, if Batman was the type to fight to kill he wouldn't have had that problem. However if you think the Dark Knight is really dead you're dead wrong . Expect a rematch after I tweak my Bat-Build (adding a few points, spending all his equipment points, and a different configuration for his Utility belt to provoke more saves), and Deadpool gets the time to savor his brief victory.

Fight #2: Deadpool vs. Joker & Harley Quinn

Life had been good for Deadpool recently. Ever since word of the beating he’d handed Batman got around every criminal in Gotham wanted to hire him. Wade, always one to encourage capitalism, decided that the laws of supply and demand required him to ask for a higher price for his services, and he’d got it. Wade spent his nights performing various criminal acts for some of the weirdest people he’d ever met, and then enjoying the nightlife of Gotham city. He then spent his days sleeping off the events of the previous evenings.

Then he got a message from Rupert Thorne, the city’s most prominent crime lord, he wanted to offer Wade a Job, and was willing to pay his usual fee just to hear him out. While Wade was starting to wonder how he’d spend all this money he didn’t see any harm in making more. So following Thorne’s instruction he took a cab to the hill cemetery outside of town. The sun was going down as the heavily armed mercenary strolled casually through the lines of headstones. That was when he saw it….

Perhaps a dozen men, all gangsters by the look of them, propped up in metal folding chairs their faces frozen in horrific grins, their eyes glazed and lifeless. All of them arranged around a coffin, and a skinny priest eulogizing someone. The entire scene was so twisted that Wade didn’t notice the two men behind him until one of them cocked their pistol.

“Hands up freak, we been waitin’ fer ya.” A Rough voice spat.

With a gentle nudge to the back Wade walked closer to the twisted scene with his gloved hands in the air. As he got closer the scene didn’t get any prettier, the picture over the coffin was a stock news paper photo of Batman. The sound of a blowing nose erupted from the right of the priest and he noticed a woman dressed in black and red, her skin painted white blowing her nose on a hanky. Wade shook his head slowly as he gave the priest a closer look.

His skin was white too, what Wade had at first mistaken for dark hair was actually green, and even as he eulogized the dark knight a disconcerting grin dominated the lower half of his face.

“….and so I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say that we’ll miss the Batman… if only because the joy of killing him was stolen from me… by some talentless nobody…” His voice was growing angry, but his voice soon changed as he appeared to laugh off the sudden surge of rage, of course the laughter was more bone chilling than being bad mouthed.

The Joker giggled manically as he strolled over to the coffin and swung it open dramatically. Wade winced for a moment expecting to see, well who knows what, but the cushioned inside was empty.

“Oh Mista J yer so poetic.” The girl uttered again blowing her nose to punctuate her sentence.

“I suppose this would be a bad time to tell you that it wasn’t really me who killed Batman… it was… uh… the Punisher?” The Merc replied looking around expectantly.

He was greeted by nothing but silence by the thugs behind him, the girl, the joker, and the three other thugs he spotted beyond the gassed audience.

“Yeah… didn’t think you’d buy that.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Deadpool, Harley and The Joker have half their PL in HP. Joker has used his Master Plan feat and when he chooses to activate the ability it will be at +2.

Initiative: Deadpool, Harley, Thugs, Joker

Round 1

“Well if you really want to kill me that bad….” Wade suddenly drew his sword slashing the thugs on either side of him to ribbons both men falling lifeless to the ground. “…it’s only fair to show you how I beat Batman first.”

>> Between Sneak Attack and Takedown attack those poor thugs didn’t stand a chance. THEY GONE! <<

Suddenly the woman dressed as a Harlequin lifts an oversized pistol apparently packed with a giant cork and fires it at Wade. Wade steps aside easily.

“Sister, did you just attack me with a champagne bottle ?!?!”

>> Harley Takes a Shot and Misses <<

The remaining thugs seeing their friends fall lift their own pistols and open fire on the canny Mercenary. However they only manage to fill several headstones full of lead as Deadpool quickly dives behind cover to avoid one of the better shots.

>> Do you believe one of these guys missed with a roll of 18? <<

The Joker laughs hysterically at the demise of his goons and holds a cross out in Wade’s direction, from the center a noxious green liquid prays over Harley’s head but hitting the ground by Wade’s feet.

“HAHAHAHA, Better watch out, God’s Forgiveness is a little stale today.” The Clown Prince giggled.

“Funny that smells a bit more like ass than stale to me.” Retorted the Mercenary.

>> Joker tries to fire his Last Laugh gas/poison and misses even after spending his first HP. <<

Round 2:

Wade quickly draws his SMG and opens fire at one of the distant guard, spraying his fire over ten feet to another one of the Thugs both of themselves suddenly dance at the multitude of lead perforating their bodies and fall to the ground.

>> Wade Fires his Autofire SMG, He then “walks” the fire over another 10 feet to hit a second thug, they both fail their saves and buy the farm. <<

Harley lifts her Mallet and recklessly charges at Wade swinging for all she’s worth. However she over commits to the swing and Wade steps back as Harley only succeeds in beating the crap out of the ground.

>>Harley charges getting a +2 to hit but suffering –2 Defense, she fails her attack, even after spending a HP. <<

The final thug reluctantly takes a shot at Wade. But misses in humiliating fashion, Wade Expertly hiding behind Harley just when he needs to.

>> Thug fires, but suffers a –8 Penalty for firing into Melee because of Wade’s Elusive Target Feat.<<

The Joker Seqeals with delight unable to stop laughing. His hand still wrapped around that noxious cross.

Suddenly The Joker Slips a playing card out from his hand hurling it at Wade. He realizes that the card is razor lined too late, just about when it buries into his shoulder causing a loud curse to come from the Merc’s mouth.

>> Joker Feints as a move action, and even with the –5 Penalty beats Wade’s Sense Motive check. Flat Footed The Joker tags him with a playing card doing 1 Bruised Status and 1 Injured Status, both men end up spending a HP in the exchange <<

Round 3

Wade unwilling to give up his shapely cover quite yet peeks his head out around a struggling Harley and fires his SMG once again this time hitting and putting down the final thug with little effort.

“I hope you’ve got more than a little girl with a hammer and a few goons… ‘cause I’m coming for you pasty face!”

>> Wade’s regeneration heals the Bruised damage, and he finishes off the last thug leaving him alone with Harley and Joker <<

Harley puckers up her face at the insult and violently swings her Mallet this time taking the top off of a headstone, seemingly unaware that she was making it harder to hit Deadpool.

>> Harley takes an Aggressive Stance, getting +2 to hit, but –4 to Defense, but even spending a HP still manages to miss Wade entirely. <<

The Joker contiues laughing and throws, of all things, a bible, toward Wade. Suddenly the bible erupts into a giant ball on Confetti. Deadpool shield’s his face avoiding the attack, but from the yelling its obvious Harley wasn’t as Lucky.

“MISTA J!!!! I CAN’T SEE NO MORE!!”

>>Joker Uses Defensive attack at 4. Joker Tosses a Confetti Bomb it’s Dazzle 6 not 8 like I wrote earlier, sorry. Both Harley makes her first saving throw, but fails her second. Deadpool fails the first, but makes the second thus avoiding the dazzle effect. <<

Round 4

Wade grins wide from under his mask, and kisses Harley.

“If you’re into guys with skin conditions cutie, I’ve got clown boy beat.”

He gave her a wink and moved out from behind her opening firing on Joker with his SMG. To Deadpool’s surprise The Joker casually walks behind the coffin avoiding his burst easily.

>> Deadpool taunts Harley, succeeding easily, leaving her Demoralized, -1 to All Attacks and Checks for 1 round. However Deadpool’s attack is thwarted by the Defensive Attack that Joker just made.<<

Harley blinks her eyes, her vision finally returning to her. She tries to make a swing at the back of Deadpool’s head, but she’s so angry over the stolen kiss that she misses without even making Wade duck his head.

>>Harley makes her Fortitude save to recover her vision, but still misses Wade, even after using a HP <<

Suddenly the Joker kicks over the Coffin he’d been using for cover and laughed maliciously lifting that cross once again and firing its noxious goo at Deadpool, only this time the Mercenary takes it full in the face coughing violently at it. Joker only laughs in return.

“Uh oh, Gun boy has a cold, HAHAHAHAHAHA !!”

>> Joker Acivates his Master plan getting +2 to all attack rolls and skill checks. Another shot of the Last Laugh gas, only this one hits, both men blow a HP, but Wade fails his save and suffers a –5 to Dexterity and –5 to Wisdom. <<

Round 5

Wade suddenly has trouble concentrating, and moving straight… he needs to end this. He rushes at the Joker putting away his SMG and drawing his sword. He leaps over the coffin and brings his sword down on the Joker. The Joker takes the hit in the shoulder. His blood spraying all over the entranced audience.

>> Deadpool charges, and Power Attacks for 2. Even after Joker spending a HP he cannot succeed the save, and gets one Bruised and One Injured State, he’s also stunned for the round. <<

“MISTA J !!!!”

Harley cried out as she rushed at Deadpool quickly. She swung her Mallet as Hard as she could catching Wade right in the ribs. There was a loud crunch as the Mercenary winced. Sure that would heal… but it still wasn’t fun.

>>Still in an Aggressive Stance, Harley charges again for a grand total of +4 to Hit and –6 Defense. She manages to hit with a HP and inflict a bruised status.<<

Wade feels the poison coursing through his earlier wounds, sped by his aderline, but grits his teeth trying his best to fight off the effect.

>> Wade makes his second saving Throw against the poison, thereby avoiding an easy win for Joker when Wade’s wisdom dropped to 0 <<

Round 6

“I guess, that means you’re not up for coffee after this hunny?”

Deadpool grabbed his sword and violently swung it around. Slamming its backside into Harley’s stomach and turning it around quickly in his hand and bringing the sharp end down on The Joker. Slashing down on his chest. Deadpool turns away striking a cool pose as the two criminals fall to the ground. only to remember his audience is entirely immobile, and gassed to insanity.

>> Deadpool fails his check to regenerate his Bruised Status. Deadpool feints against Harley who fails her Sense Motive roll beautifully. She’s caught flat-footed, and with a –6 to Defense, leaving her net defense at a whopping 7, as he Power Attacks for 5 AND Sneak Attacks, adding up to +14 Damage! Needless to say he knocks Harley cold. He Uses Takedown Attack to get the stunned Joker as well. Joker spends his HP to reroll his Damage save and with a 19 manages to walk away from the attack ONLY Staggered, Disabled, and Stunned. <<

Deadpool rubs his head a bit, still suffering from Joker’s Toxin. He looks back at the pair and goes wide eyed to see only one body laying on the ground. Deadpool looks around quickly confused.

“Why the hell can’t I kill someone in this city without their body up and disappearing on me?!?”

Deadpool stumbled toward the gate of the cemetery hastily, wanting to get somewhere safe before that clown freak showed his face again.

THE WINNER: DEADPOOL !!

Well Deadpool pulled off another one. The Thugs went down like Rocks, and he tried not to beat Harley Unconscious, but she didn’t give him much help in that regard. The Joker came within one bad Save of putting Deadpool into the ground. If he’d failed his second save vs. the poison his Wisdom would have fallen to 0 and the fight would have been over. Fortunately for him Deadpool survived that save and found himself in a perfect situation against two easy to hit foes. Joker got away because he ALWAYS gets away, there’s not a feat for it anymore, but let’s call it GM fiat. Deadpool might have won, but I could easily see him not wanting to test his luck again.

Overall I'm happy at how each build worked.

Fight #3: Killer Croc vs. The Punisher

War Journal: October 15th, 2005; 0230 hours.

The disappearance of the Batman has left Gotham City defenseless against the myriad of scum that pollutes the city’s gutters. The Batman has always been soft on these types, it’s about time that someone cleans this city up.

For the past week I’ve been keeping tabs on the movements of Waylon Jones, a.k.a. Killer Croc. I’ve come to the conclusion that if he hadn’t been born a freak Jones would have just been a small time thug. His actions thus far are the most small-minded and vicious kind of criminal efforts. However in tracking his movements I’ve discovered where he lives. Why am I not surprised to find that this piece of scaled filth lives in the sewers?

So now I’ve parked my transportation by a manhole on the edge of Jones’ territory. The sewer tunnels in this part of the city are extremely old, s I’m reluctantly leaving my M4 and its under barrel grenade launcher in my van. I’ve decided to bring my Shotgun with me. In the close quarters of the tunnel it should be my best choice.

So using a crowbar I’ve moved the manhole cover and descended into the darkness of the Gotham City sewer. My feet immediately fall upon film covered stone and I turn on the flash on my shotgun. My gut begins to clench instantly, and I know that I am not alone.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Punisher and Croc Start with half their PL in Hero Points. Punisher attempts to form a master plan but fails. Meanwhile Croc is busy stealth in the Sewer water and Punisher makes his notice check.

Initiative: The Punisher, Killer Croc.

Round 1:

Frank quickly wheels around toward his back and points his shotgun at a patch of Sewer water before pumping a round of buckshot into it. Not suprisingly a roaring figure of scaled skin rippling muscles, and rows of razor sharp teeth erupts from the water. What is a surprise is that the beast seems unhurt.

>> Frank fires off a round of his shotgun and hits. But a shotgun only does +3 damage against a foe with any kind of protection. Croc easily makes his damage save. <<

Killer Croc stands up strength and continues roaring fiercely arms spread out a sight to send chills down the spine of any man. Frank Castle stands tough however racking his shotgun once again in defiance.

>> Croc tries to use his Fearsome Presence feat, but Frank makes his save. <<

Round 2:

Frank lifts his shotgun once again taking aim at Croc’s mid section before firing. The attack hits Croc perfectly but leaves him entirely unfazed.

>> Frank Power Attacks for 3, but his Shotgun still can’t pierce that scaly hide. <<

Croc rushes forward and lashes out with one giant hand slugging Frank right in the stomach. The Punisher got the breath knocked out of him but managed to kick the looming Croc away before he could get a firm hold on his clothing.

>> Croc hits Frank two takes a Bruised Status. Croc tries to start a grapple due to his improved grab feat, but Frank wins the Grapple kicking Croc Away <<

Round 3:

Frank quickly realizes that his shotgun is entirely ineffective in this situation and rolls backward and begins to empty the gun’s ammunition changing the buckshot for slugs.

>> It’s a full round action to change out his ammunition, but when he does his Shotgun will do +6 Damage. <<

Croc rushes forward wrapping his big hand around the shotgun and ripping it from Frank’s hand hurling it across the tiny sewer tunnel the flashlight providing all of the light in the tunnel bathing both of them.

>> Croc tries to Disarm Punisher. He succeeds and the Shotgun is History. Both men blow a HP in the exchange<<

Round 4:

The Punisher draws his Colt 45. Armed with a silencer and opens fire aiming right for Croc’s head. The bullet strikes him in the neck with a light thud from the silencer and actually draws blood, but the hulking brute seems to ignore the wound.

>> Punisher draws his gun and fired, power attacking for 4. He hits easily, and Croc fails his save taking 1 bruised and 1 injured status. However Croc has to spend a HP in the attempt. <<

Croc reaches out once again swinging a giant fist at the Punisher. The fist slams into his neck and the beast curls his hand around it pulling him in close and wrapping his scaled arms tightly around the Punisher squeezing tightly.

>> Punisher gets clocked by the Punisher, who fails his damage save taking another bruised status, and ending up stunned. Croc successfully starts a grapple. He pins The Punisher and applies a chokehold. Fortunatly Frank makes his saving throw. <<

Round 5:

Frank’s glazed over eyes clear up and he draws his life from his belt. He twirls it and immediately thrusts it backward into Croc’s stomach as hard as he could. Croc roars in pair as another wound opens up.

>> Punisher spends a HP to shake off his stunned status and Power Attacks for 5. Croc fails his save by 4 and takes another bruised and injured status. However he’s still in the grapple. <<

Croc’s eyes go wide with anger and he continues to squeeze as hard as he can trying to crush the life from the Punisher’s body. Frank groans in pain but fights on not going out quite yet.

>>Croc maintains the grapple and attempts to chokehold again. This time the DC is 11. Frank makes his save yet again however. <<

Round 6:

Frank struggles as hard as he can and grabs a hold of Croc’s wrist. With a quick twist Frank pulls himself free and throws Croc down to the ground violently.

>> The Punisher wins the grapple check and throws Croc. He doesn’t go far, but he’s out of the grapple for now. <<

Croc throws another devastating punch at Frank’s midsection. He grits his teeth and doesn’t budge an inch and simply slaps Croc’s hand away when he attempts to grab him once again.

>> Croc throws another successful attack. Frank fails his initial save but spends a HP to re-roll and gets a 20. Croc fails the grapple check once again. <<

Round 7:

With knife in hand The Punisher drops into a defensive stance lashing out with his knife Croc cries out with pain as the knife catches him in the stomach once again, opening the previous wound even further.

>> Frank Drops into Defensive Stance taking –4 to hit in exchange for +2 Defense, He power Attacks for five and hits, hard. Croc spends a HP to re-roll his save, but still suffers a Bruised Status, an Injured Status, and is stunned. <<

Croc can only cough up blood for the moment, unable to get enough strength to fight off his attacker.

>> Croc remains stunned <<

Round 8:

Frankly stays in his defensive stance, unable to give up his advantage quite yet. He lungs forward quickly his knife easily slicing the other side of Croc’s throat.

>> Well Croc being stunned made it easy for Frank to remain in defensive stance and lay another Power Attack for 5 on him. Failed his save again and took another bruised and Injured status, and is stunned for another round. <<

Croc roars mightily and lashes out with another giant paw. Frank expertly dodges the attack narrowing his eyes feeling his foe finally slow down a bit.

>> Croc spends his last HP to break out of his Stunned status and makes an attack, power Attacking for 5 and All Out Attacking for 5. However with Frank’s defensive stance he misses the attack leaving himself wide open. <<

Round 9:

The Punisher side steps Croc’s lasty attack and counters by driving his blade right into the back of Croc’s throat. Croc’s eyes go wide and he falls to the ground with a loud thud. Frank leans against the sewer wall breathing heavily and retrieving his .45.

>> Punisher drops his Defensive stance and Power attacks for 5. He has to spend his last HP to re-roll the attack but he scores a critical hit. Croc fails the save, by just enough to end up Stunned, Staggered, and Disabled. <<

Frank looks down at the barely living form of Croc and leans down whispering to him.

“If you happen to live through this freak… be sure to tell everyone that Gotham is my city now, and I’m not leaving until all of you freaks are dead.”

The Punisher stands straight once again firing one more round from his .45 into Croc before climbing the ladder back to the street above slowly, his wounds apparently quite vicious. However within twenty minutes Croc pulls himself off the ground, still bleeding but clearly alive. He glanced toward the manhole and narrowed his eyes.

“This isn’t over…. Not yet.”

THE WINNER: THE PUNISHER!!

This fight was a lot closer than it looked. Croc’s unarmed attacks were beating Frank into submission. He was in toughness save trouble by the time Croc started his grapple. Fortunately Frank was able to get out of that before the Fortitude saves became a problem. Once Frank got free all he had to do was get Croc stunned. With him in that condition there was nothing to prevent Frank from wailing on him. The fight might have went on a few more round, but it was only a matter of Frank keeping Croc stunned after he spent that last HP. Next time… Frank won’t leave his M4 back in the van.

Fight #4: Batman vs. Deadpool: The Rematch

The last thing I remember was the grenade falling at my feet. I looked up and could practically see the smile on that monster’s face. Then the blinding light, my training took over and I tried to leap away, but as I flew out of the club’s window, across the pier and into the river I figured out I was not moving under my own power.

The next thing I knew I’d washed up down river, vomiting river water by the bucket. I’d lost my cowl somewhere along the way. I struggled to my feet only to fall back down on the beach. I couldn’t feel the lift side of my body, and my right side burned.

Ultimately I was able to use the remote in my belt to bring the Bat Mobile to me and get me back to the cave. Once there I hoped to make a quick recovery.

I wasn’t that lucky.

The Grenade had burned me badly, I was suffering from several deep cuts and multiple bullet wounds. It was all Alfred could do to keep me from dying. It wasn’t made any easier by the polluted river water that had seeped into several of the wounds.

The following weeks were a nightmare I could only watch from my bed as the city tore itself apart. A Crime wave swept over the city. Every criminal I’d ever put away seemed to know he was off the street and took advantage of it.

In that vacuum others tried to fill my place, but only managed to leave a bloody mess on the streets. A dozen Joker gassed mobsters were found with an unconscious Harley Quinn and five dead thugs. A Ruckus in the sewers lead to the discovery of lots of blood but no bodies.

Batman was needed now more than ever.

But I had to show the entire city that I was back first. To do that I would need to hand deliver the man that had nearly killed me to the police. With this man behind bars the criminals would know that the Batman was back, and that the city was still under my protection.

My Target’s name was Wade Wilson, formerly a cancer ridden mercenary gave himself over to top secret government programs in an attempt to save his life. He got a horrific body and the ability to heal from almost any wound in the process. He called himself Deadpool.

I'd tracked him to a flop house, he'd recently checked out of a fancy uptown hotel in favor of a harder to find address. Apparently something had him spooked, and if he wasn't a fool that thing was me, after all I was following him from the rooftops, he wouldn't know I was there until I landed behind him.

And if he could heal from any injury… there was no reason to hold back, not this time.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Both characters have half their PL in Hero Points. Batman has a 7th hero point because of the beating that Deadpool handed him last time. Batman uses Skill Mastery to give himself a Stealth check of 26. Deadpool fails his Notice check meaning there will be a surprise round. Batman uses Master Plan and will receive a +2 Bonus to all Attacks and Checks when he chooses to activate it.

When Battle Starts Initiative will be as follows: Deadpool, Batman

Surprise Round:

As Deadpool begin to unbolt the backdoor of the flop house he does not notice the dark figure landing soundlessly behind him. He remains clueless until he feels a gloved hand on his shoulder. Deadpool quickly turns only to see Batman. Still in shock Batman grips Deadpool’s masked face and drives it hard into the thick wooden door. Deadpool is left helpless his head splintering the thick wood as he can only fight to stay on his feet after that vicious attack.

>> Batman activates his Master Plan. As this is a Surprise Round he catches Deadpool Flat Footed, and He Power Attacks for 2. The Attack Easily hits, Deadpool fails his save even after spending his first HP. He suffers one Bruised Status, one Injured Status, and is Stunned. <<

Round 1:

Deadpool brings himself back to reality and quickly draws his sword making a wild swing at Batman who leaps backward effortlessly.

>> Deadpool succeeds his recovery check negating the Bruised Status, and spends a second Hero Point to shake himself out of his stunned state. However he attacks and misses Batman. <<

Batman quickly lunged forward. Deadpool was expecting a punch but instead felt electrcity jolt through his body. Batman stepped back, a stun gun wrapped in gloved hand. Batman watcghes in horror as Deadpool only chuckles a bit at the attack.

>> Batman uses his Stun Gun on Wade. Batman hits easily, but Wade makes his fortitude save is unaffected. <<

Round 2:

Deadpool chuckles. “What’s wrong Bats? Still feeling under the weather?” He takes another wing with his sword directing it at Batman’s neck. Batman responds by dodging the attack once again, apparently entirely in control.

>> Deadpool tries to taunt. He doesn’t roll all that well and Batman uses his skill mastery to give himself a 26 sense motive check. Deadpool then power attacks for three just missing Batman. <<

Batman quickly spun around and before Wade knew it Batman’s hand was right in his face. That’s when he saw the cylandier he was holding. Batman simply presses a button Suddenly a red mist hits Deadpool right in the face. The Mercenary coughs putting a hand in front of his eyes.

“What the hell is it with you people and spraying crap on me ?!?!?!”

>> Batman nails Wade with his Mace. Wade spends a HP but saves against the stun effect. However he failed his save against the dazzle effect leaving him blind for the moment. <<

Round 3:

Deadpool forced his eyes open tears now streaming from them, he swings his sword down on Batman once again. The Blade struck Batman’s body armor and with practiced grace he rolled away from the attack seemingly not suffering at all from the attempt.

>> Deadpool makes his Saving throw to recover from being dazzled. He power attacks for 3 and suffers an additional –1 to the attack due to being hit with the dazzle effect. He hits, but Batman manages to make the toughness save by one. <<

Batman suddenly grabs Wade by the wrist and proceeds to twist it violently. With suprisingly little force Batman forces Deadpool to drop his sword on the ground.

>> Batman’s Master Plan bonus drops to +1, Batman makes a disarm attempt. He hits, and he and Wade make opposed Checks. Batman needs to spend his first Hero Point. But he succeeds easily in disarming Deadpool. <<

Round 4:

Deadpool immediately drops to a knee drawing his SMG. He aims it at Batman’s stomach and opens fire. Batman attempts to roll away from the attack but a bullet grazes the side of his body armor, that will leave a nice bruised rib tomorrow.

>> Deadpool attacks with his SMG. He spends his last Hero Point, but Deadpool hits. Batman needs to spend his second Hero Point, but manages to fail the save by one. He suffers one bruised and one injured status. <<

Batman stands slowly fixing his hard gaze on Deadpool. He crosses his arms over his chest and Wade realizes that he is out of his league. His eyes go wide, he needs to get out of here.

>> Batman's Master Plan now drops to +0. Batman uses his Fearsome Presence feat, and without any hero points left Deadpool fails his save by 8. <<

Round 5:

Deadpool quickly turns his back to Batman and begins running down the street as fast as his feet will carry him. He comes to a stop in the middle of the street breathing heavily, his hand clutching his SMG and looks around for any sign of Batman.

>>Deadpool flees from Batman spending his entire round running away. <<

Watching his prey run the Dark Knight pulls his grappling gun from his belt and zip up to the rooftop. There he crouches watching Deadpool silently.

>> Batman uses one move action to get to the rooftop and another to use Stealth once again. He uses Skill Mastery again. <<

Round 6:

Deadpool looks around franticly unsure as to where the next attack will come from. Unaware that Batman is lurking above him.

>> Deadpool fails his Notice check, by a lot! <<

Gripping a Bat a Rang Batman hurls it at Deadpool. The Bat a Rang strikes Deadpool’s hand and he drops the SMG gripping his hand tightly.

>> Batman makes a ranged Disarm attack, and succeeds in both the attack attempt and the opposed check. Batman decides to make another Stealth check to remain hidden after doing that attack. The DC for sniping is 30, which Batman easily beats with a roll of 18. Deadpool is still clueless. <<

Round 7:

Deadpool continues to look around drawing his pistol as quickly as he can.

“Where the hell are you ?!?!?!”

>> Deadpool fails his notice check once again. <<

Suddenly a voice above him booms.

“Look behind you Wilson !!”

Wade looks behind him only to see a large car rushing down the street at him, its headlights turning on to bathe him in light only an instant before striking him as hard as it could. Deadpool is unable to move away in time and is struck head on sent flying over the hood and tossed into the air like a rag doll falling to the ground.

>> Batman uses the remote control on the Batmobile to perform a slam attack on the flat-footed Deadpool. He rolls fairly well only ending up Bruised, Injured (up to 2 of those now), and stunned. <<

Round 8:

Wilson lays on the ground groaning in pain, unable to force himself up quite yet, the sound of some of his bones setting themselves filled the night air.

>> Deadpool succeeds his recovery check and heals from the Bruised Status, but remains stunned. <<

Suddenly Batman leaps down from the rooftop landing boots first into Deadpool’s chest. Deadpool can only go wide eyed and let the air escape his lungs as the dark figure of the Batman looms over him looking down at him with a stern visage before he lost consciousness.

>> Batman makes a Sneak Attack and Power Attacks for 5. He easily hits and Deadpool fails his save big time. Knocking him out entirely. <<

An hour later Jim Gordon would hear that someone had turned on the Bat Signal. He rushed to the roof only to find a man dressed in red and black chained to the lit signal. His chest rose and fell slowly, clearly alive, but his torn clothing and the disgusting flesh revealed underneath told Jim that he’d taken quite a beating first. He could only grin softly looking at the display.

“It’s good to have you back old friend…”

THE WINNER: BATMAN!!!

Well Batman was totally in control here. He toyed with Deadpool until the mercenary used up all his hero points. Once that happened he brought the hammer down with fearsome presence and used the chance to get stealthed again. From there Deadpool didn’t stand a chance against the Dark Knight. Without the hero points to negate the occasional bad roll Deadpool was dead in the water and Batman was able to have his way with him. All Batman had to do was keep him flat footed and unload on him (the Bat Mobile attack actually didn’t hurt as much as that last Sneak Attack, but it was a fun way to display the remote control feature on the Batmobile).

Fight #5: Powergirl vs. Absorbing Man

The last thing that Powergirl saw was a blinding flash of White light. When her vision cleared she was no longer fighting besides the JSA, instead she was floating over a city. She investigated and found the world confusing. The cities she’d known for her entire stay on Earth did not exist any longer, and people seemed to have an irrational dislike for a type of meta called mutants.

Powergirl’s confusion was not made any better as she flew around the city she realized she didn’t have a place to stay, money for food, or anything else to change into. Several hours of flying found her sitting on a rooftop looking down at the city trying to figure out how to get home, and trying to ignore the rumbling in her stomach.

Then the ground shuddered violently beneath her. She pulled herself to her feet quickly and turned her head to see a tall muscular man, seemingly made of concrete running down the street, money bags piled in one arm the other gripping a ball and chain.

Powergirl smiled, she may have known nothing else about this world, but she did know that they needed her help.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trying something different here. Both parties start with 1 hp and can gain more during battle.

Absorbing Man makes his notice check and they both roll initiative.

Initiative: Powergirl, Absorbing Man

Round 1

Powergirl hovers off of the roof and shoots down like a Bullet slamming fist firm into the concrete stomach of Absorbing man. To her surprise his solid form doesn’t give. He doesn’t even budge at the attack.

>> Powergirl Charges and Power Attacks for 2. She hits, but Absorbing Man rolls a Natural 20 on his Toughness save. <<

“Little girl you just picked da wrong fight!”

Absorbing man lifts his arm swinging his ball and chain quickly above his head before leveling it into Powergirl’s shoulder. The sound of a crunch fills the air and Powergirl winces at the sudden feeling of her shoulder being dislocated.

>>Absorbing man winds up and hits, poor Powergirl fails her save by 3 and suffers a bruised status.<<

Round 2

“Don’t call me little girl!”

Powergirl swings her good arm as hard as she can and connects with Absorbing man’s Jaw. He’s sent flying backward concrete body showing cracks as it mercilessly slams into a brick wall.

>> Powergirl All Out Attacks and Power Attacks for 5 each. She hits Absorbing man who fails his save by 7 even after spending his hero point. He’s stunned and suffers a bruised status. <<

Absorbing man slowly opens his eyes one hand curling around a brick. He then wrenches a parked Buick from the curbside throwing it at his suprisingly strong foe. Powergirl quickly darts to the side the car missing its target in humilating fashion.

>> Absorbing Man uses extra effort to shake off his stunned status, this is GM Fiat so Powergirl gets another Hero Point. For all the good it does him as he rolls a natural 1 on his attack vs. Powergirl. <<

Round 3

Powergirl rushes forward once again unloading a punch into Carl’s midsection. Unaware that his arm is slowly turning into brick. His body snaps back into the brick wall once again more cracks appearing along his rocky body.

>> Powergirl swings and hits, but has to use her first HP. Absorbing man manages to fail his save by 2 once again raking up his second bruised status. <<

By the time Carl collects himself his entire body now has the red color of sturdy brick. Powergirl’s eyes go wide.

“What are you?”

Carl grinned softly.

“They call me Absorbing man doll.”

That ball and chain was swung over his head once again this time striking Powergirl full in the face. She stumbled backward a glaze coming over her blue eyes.

>>Absorbing man Uses stunning attack. He needs to use GM Fiat to hit (giving PG another HP), but he does. Powergirl manages a good roll and only fails her save by a few leaving her dazed for a round. She can take no actions, but retains her Dodge bonus to Defense<<

Round 4

“Now honey let me show ya how we did things in prison!”

Another swing of that Ball and chain. This one catching Powergirl in the midsection and knocking her into the car she dodged earlier. Powergirl doesn’t move a motionless body laying prone against the bumper as Carl looms closer.

>> Powergirl can’t act, so Carl Power Attacks and All Out Attacks for 5 each. He hits and provoke a DC 37 Toughness save. Poor Powergirl manages to only fail by seven leaving her stunned, and with a second bruised status. <<

Round 5

Suddenly Powergirl’s eyes snap open and she reaches out grabbing Carl by the shoulders.

“Fine, Absorb this!”

Powergirl plants a foot into Carl’s stomach propelling him over the top of the car and into the wet cement further down the block.

>> Powergirl spending a HP to shake off the stunned status and makes a grapple check. She manages to roll a natural 20 and Carl goes flying. <<

Absorbing man quickly pulls himself off the ground and leaps out of the wet cement rushing toward Powergirl as fast as he can.

>> Carl needs to use a move action to get up and another one to close back into melee. <<

Round 6

Absorbing man roars rushing in toward Powergirl. She simply points to Absorbing man’s back. He stops and looks on his back, wet cement still clinging to the brick patterned surface. Suddenly his entire body turns into the liquid consistency of the wet cement. Powergirl narrows her eyes and beams erupt from those orbs hitting the wet cement form of Absorbing man right in the face. Before he can lift his arm to attack his entire form stiffens up. He stops dead in his tracks unable to move his fist an inch from Powergirl’s smirking face.

>> Carl shifts into liquid form. But Powergirl spends her last HP to re-roll on her heat vision attack. She crits and Carl doesn’t stand a chance. His wet cement form hardens leaving him immobile. <<

Powergirl breaths heavily gripping her wounded shoulder. She turns her back on the statue of absorbing man and begins to walks slowly away. Suddenly a shadow falls over and she sees absorbing man, his concrete form cracking with each forced step trying to get closer. Before it can get close however the sound of a beam weapon splits the afternoon silence in half. The hardened cement body of Absorbing Man shatters into hundred of pieces and Powergirl looks up to see a man in red and yellow armor floating above the scene. His armored form lands slowly in front of her and a voice is broadcast from inside the armor.

“Wow miss. That was one hell of a fight, I’ve only seen two people hand Absorbing Man that kind of beating. And one of them is a god.”

She smiled weakly at the praise.

“Well I try my best, though I know people who could have done better.”

“Well Miss, I don’t.”

He extended a metal clad hand.

“My Name is Iron Man, I represent the Avengers and if you’re interested, we’d be glad to have you.”

She accepted his hand with her good arm and smiled.

“I’m Powergirl, and we can talk about recruitment between putting my arm back in its socket and dinner.”

“Well if you insist I’m sure I can show you some lovely restaurants.” The Iron man responded a touch of mischief obvious in his voice.

THE WINNER: POWERGIRL!!
It was a tough fight and PG had seen some tough moments but she exploited Carl's weaknesses and was able to the end the fight before she got too messed up to fight back.

Fight #6: Black Canary v. Sandman

"I hate container ships. I’d spent the better part of a week tracking down a new drug that recently hit the streets. People who used it ended up with three times their original strength and stamina and also began suffering from schizophrenia. Needless to say it’s a nasty combination. After prying some of this stuff out of the hand of an addict who hurled my motorcycle at me I gave it over to Barbara. She examined it while I kept on following the trail. That trail lead me right here. The bowls of a container ship that had been sitting in harbor for nearly a month, and a parade of dealers and thugs walking on and off of the boat.

That’s when Barbara sent word. She needed more of the drug to run further tests, she couldn’t find out anymore than we could already guess, it was a new steroid. So I crept on board knocking guards out cold along the way and hiding their unconcious selves away from sight. I was close to my goal now. All that really stood in my way was a muscular man with sandy brown hair and a hideous green T-shirt. I’ll just hit him in the back of the head and he’ll go down.

How hard can it be? He doesn’t look that tough."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everyone Starts with 1 HP and gain more via combat (Read: me using GM fiat to mess with the character).

Dinah uses skill Mastery and has a surprise round on Sandman. When battle starts initiative will be as follows.

Black Canary, Sandman

Surprise Round:

Dinah pulls back her fist and drives it hard into the back of her foe’s neck. Her fist suddenly punctures the thug’s neck, erupting on the other side in a haze of sand. Dinah’s eyes go wide as the man she just struck turned his head and looked disapprovingly at her.

>> Dinah rolls her sneak attack, but being immune to critical hits a Sneak Attack does nothing to Sandman. He easily makes his save and battle is met. <<

Round 1:

Dinah quickly pulls her fist back and rear back throwing a kick so strong that it nearly knocks her off balance. Her leg goes right through Sandman’s midsection coming out the other side leaving her foe totally unhurt.

>> Black Canary Power Attacks for 5 and nails her flat-footed foe. Sandman rolls poorly but uses his hero point to re-roll. He easily makes the save. <<

“My turn!”

The sandy foe lifts one arm and it erupts into a column of hardened sand. Dinah quickly darts away as it slams loudly into a container.

>> Sandy Attacks, and misses by a country mile. <<

Round 2:

Dinah narrows her eyes. So much for this guy going down easy. It was time to try a different tactic. She curled her fists and began to collect her breath.

>>Dinah is winding up for the Canary Cry <<

The Sandman’s hand retracts taking away a piece of the metal container and crushing it in his hand as if it were cardboard. He tosses it aside and his arm shoots back out at Dinah who ducks quickly unfazed by her foe’s display.

>>Sandman tries to use his Startle feat as move action, but Black Canary makes her sense motive check. As a result his attack misses. <<

Round 3:

Dinah opens her mouth wide and a deafening shriek fills the container emanating from Dinah’s wide-open mouth. The Sandman’s entire body ripples under the force his entire body clenching tightly but eyes starting to glaze over.

>> Dinah lets out her Canary cry. She uses it as a Ranged Stun attack (not area). Even after using GM Fiat to give Sandy a re-roll he fails his save. He’s dazed. <<

Round 4:

Dinah opens her mouth up wider and the sound seems to get even louder. A new wave of sonic energy slams against the Sandman but does little to knock him down.

>> Dinah maintains the Canary cry and switches it to an area blast attack. However Sandy makes his save against the damage and is still unharmed. <<

Sandy quickly lifts both arms and a fountain of sand rushes at Dinah she dives away with suprisingly ease only managing to get some sand in her hair.

>> Sandy uses GM Fiat to make his attack an area attack. Dinah has to use her first hero point (leaving her with 2) but makes the reflex save and further makes the damage save with a roll of 15!!<<

Round 5:

Dinah lowers herself and pushes the cone of sound harder onto sandman. And she rushes forward throwing another punch at his face. The blast of sound knocks him backward but her fist only succeeds in going through his face harmlessly once again.

>> Dinah decides to maintain her cry as a move action and easily makes the concentration check. Dinah uses extra effort to increase the DC of her Canary Cry by 2. It’s enough for Sandman to fail his save by 1. However her follow up attack fails due in part to GM Fiat. (Bringing her back up to 2 Hero Points)<<

Sandman finally understands how tough a fight he’s in. So he lowers his shoulder and launches another pillar of a sandy body part in Dinah’s direction her eyes go wide as it catches her in the midsection and sends her hurtling back into the container. The sandman’s appendage retracts and she begins to slide down the side glassy eyed.

>>Sandy All-Out Attacks for 5 and rolls very well. Poor Dinah doesn’t stand a chance. She takes a bruised status and is stunned. Sandman decides not to initiate a grapple thinking he’s got her. <<

Round 6:

The Black Canary slowly pulls herself off of the ground and opens her eyes. She takes another deep breath and switches stances to better defend herself.

>>Dinah blows a HP to shake off the stunned status and winds up for another Canary cry. She also goes into Defensive Stance –4 to Attacks +2 to Defense. <<

The Sandman whips his tendril like arm around once again trying to slap the Black Canary upside the head with it. Dinah once again darts to the side ignoring the large dent the attack leaves in floor.

>> Sandy All-Out Attacks and Power Attacks, both for 5. Unfortunately he misses his attack. <<

Round 7:

Dinah reels back her head and unleashes another canary cry, if it was possible this one is even louder than before. She seems to be putting her entire body into it trying to force it forward. The sudden force slaps The Sandman's head backward causing it to erupt into sand. It slowly begins to reform, but it’s reforming none the less.

>>Dinah lets lose. She Power Attacks and All Out Attacks for 5 Each with the Stun Ranged attack. She hits the exposed Sandman. He fails his save by Six and is stunned. <<

Round 8:

Black Canary continues her cry rushing forward and unleashing another vicious punch this time at Sandman’s neck. Once again the blast knocks him backwards, but her punch to the neck does nothing to slow the regeneration of his head.

>> Dinah uses her last hero point to extra effort her blast again. Once again she makes her concentration check and Power Attacks for 5 on her follow-up attack. Sandman takes one bruised hit from the canary cry, but makes his damage save vs. The Punch, due to a few very high rolls. <<

The Sandman’s arm fires once again with pinpoint accuracy tagging Dinah right in the stomach It knocks her backwards once again, but she lands on her feet and maintains control her mouth never falling closed seemingly unaware that the pillar of sand she was just struck with his slowly consuming her.

>>Sandman continues to all-out attack and hits her again. But she rolls a 17 on the save and only takes another bruised status. Meanwhile she rolls a 20 on the concentration check to maintain her Canary cry. However she fails her grapple check and is now grappled and pinned, however she makes her fortitude save to avoid suffocation. <<

Round 9:

Dinah continues to lay on the canary cry, her jaw now aching severely. And apparently she hit the right note because The Sandman glanced about watching clumps of his form roll right off of his body. By the time he looks back at Black Canary his entire body flies apart from him and strikes the container behind him raining sand everywhere and leaving Dinah gasping for breath hunched over.

>> WOW! Dinah makes her concentration check to maintain her cry even though she’s grappled. Power Attacks on her stun for 5 (leaving her with a ranged bonus of +2 !!!) She hits and Sandy fails his Fortitude Save by 14!! Bang he’s KOed and the fight is over!! <<

Dinah looks at the pile of sand and stumbles away from it. She reaches back inside of the ripped open container behind her and pulls out a small vial of green liquid. She glanced at it quickly putting her gaze back on the sand pile in front of her. She took a moment to breath and get over the fear welling inside of her. Steadied somewhat she rushes toward the stairs. She had to get this sample to Oracle, if such a nasty meta was guarding this stuff there was certainly more to this green goo than a simple steroid.

THE WINNER: BLACK CANARY!!

Wow, this one even surprised me. The end of round 8 was going to be when I started to put Dinah down for good, but with a series of outstanding rolls she dragged herself kicking and screaming back into the fight. Then Sandman blew a roll at just the right time. It was such a compelling set of circumstances that I couldn’t let it go out the window because of GM fiat. Not sure how it’ll effect the story line I’m building but I can’t let such an ending pass me by.

Fight #7: The Green Arrow v. The Punisher

I don’t get nights off.

That’s the part they never really tell you when you decide to put on tights and become a hero. No matter what else happens the one thing you can bank on is never having an early night. The best of us forget that fact from time to time. I, for example, got back in just a bit after ten at night. The moment I let the thought of going to bed enter my head my phone rang.

It was Barbara Gordon, Dinah had gotten herself hurt pretty badly and she wanted me to do her a favor.

“Well Babs, you know me if there’s anything that’s harder for me to refuse than a woman in need, it’s two of them.”

“Cute Ollie. Seriously, Dinah has broken more ribs than I thought she had, but she’s refusing to lay off on this case. I’ve got her doing easier work for now, but we need someone to follow up on this ship.”

“The container ship Dinah found these drugs on?”

“The same one, I tracked it to New York, and I need you to go talk to our contact in New York and follow up some leads until Dinah is in fighting shape again.”

“I’m already out the door Babs, give Dinah my love.”

“Right, she may be hurt, but she’ll slug me if she knows I called you in on this.”

I chuckled softly and hung up the phone. My laughter died. The idea of Dinah getting hurt didn’t sit well with me. I needed to make sure this was taken care of. I picked up the phone again and began dialing I needed the first available flight to New York.

One red eye later and I’m deplaning at JFK. Did you know that the FAA still had documentation of me trying to sneak my bow through airport security in late 90’s. Well they did. Makes any kind of air travel a massive hassle but I learned back then that an X-ray proof removable bottom to my luggage was worth its weight in gold, the downside was that until I got to baggage claim I was unarmed.

Walking out into the terminal a loud crash greeted me. A tall figure dressed in a black trench coat with of all things an assault rifle slung over his shoulder threw a raggedly dressed man clear across the terminal. He screamed out loud.

“Tell me how to find your dealer now!”

Of course instead of an exclamation point this guy pulled a 45 and pointed it at the now shaking young man’s head. I rushed forward and gripped the trench coat wearing man by the shoulder.

“Hey jerk, goosestep that crap in another direction.”

He turned around and fixed a hard cold gaze on me. I cursed inwardly; I would have to pick a fight with Frank Castle… again *.

“Oliver Queen… you and your bleeding heart have come between justice and scum for the last time.” The Punisher growled.

I turned and ran back toward the tarmac, somewhere out there my bow was being taken out of my plane. Why did I always have to pick fights with gun loving nut jobs when my bow was out of reach?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Both men will start with 1 Hero Point. Also I’ll let poor Ollie get down to the Tarmac before combat starts.

When Battle is met the Initiative Order will be as follows.

The Punisher, Green Arrow.

Pre-fight

Ollie runs down the extending hallway back toward the plane he just exited. When he finally reaches sunlight he leaps to his right rolling onto the ground and nearly tackling the baggage cart dragging his suitcase down to the ground with him.

Round 1:

Frank roughly kicks in the safety glass in the terminal spotting Ollie out on the Tarmac. He hefts his assault rifle and opens fire. The baggage handlers dive for cover, but there seems to be little harm done to anyone.

>>Frank Power Attacks for 3. But being behind the baggage cart gives Ollie enough cover to avoid the attack. <<

The Green Arrows rips open his suitcase pulling out his bow and quiver. He threw the quiver over his shoulder and readied his bow. He didn’t have time to attack, but at the very least he was armed now.

>> It takes most of the round for Ollie draw his bow. It would have been full round, but I figured two-Ranks in quick draw should help him in this situation. <<

Round 2:

Frank cocks the under barrel grenade launcher on his Rifle and fires toward the baggage cart. Ollie’s Baggage cart cover is blown to cinders in a deafening explosion. The green Arrows however darts to the right moving clear of the explosion.

>> Punisher uses the Alternate Power on his Rifle. However Ollie makes his Reflex save and his toughness save, and is entirely unhurt. <<

Ollie in the crouched position notches an arrows and aims directly at Frank.

“Eat this, you fascist…”

Ollie lets fly and the arrow tags the Punisher who manages to lower his shoulder to lessen the Impact.

>> WOW! Ollie rolls a crit on his attack and Frank has to use his Hero Point to re-roll. Miraculously he re-rolls well and only takes a Bruised status. This fight was almost over before it started! <<

Round 3:

Frank kneels down and opens fire once again focusing entirely on hitting his foe. The gunfire begins to fall in Ollie’s direction, but before it actually reaches him there’s a click and it stops. Ollie looks around surprised at his luck.

>>Punisher All-Out Attacks for 3, bringing his Attack Bonus up to +17. And what does the guy do?!?! Rolls a natural 1. Looks like he needs to reload! <<

The Green Arrow takes his opportunity and pulls his longbow back unleashing an attack aimed right at Frank’s now exposed body. The arrow strikes Frank in the shoulder sending him sprawled out onto the floor in the terminal.

>> Ollie power Attacks for 3. He has to spend his HP but he hits and Frank Botches his damages Save. He’s KOed and the fight is OVER!!! <<

Ollie glanced to the smoldering pile that was his luggage and sighs softly.

“I’m taking the train back home…”

He began to run across the Tarmac and hid in a shadow for a few moments to catch his breath. Then suddenly a soft sound like a hiss came from behind him. He turned quickly only to see a slender man dressed head to toe in red and blue with a black spider emblem on his chest hanging upside down gripping what looked to be a line of web.

“Oliver Queen?” The stranger asked, a slightly amused tone in his voice.

“Yes…”

“I’m Spider-man, Oracle told me to be expecting you.”

Ollie could only smirk in return.

“Heh thanks, I don’t suppose you have a costume I could wear.”

“Actually I’m a bit of a costume snob, if you couldn't tell.” He motioned to his own uniform.

“Got anything in green?”

“I got… an old Joe Namath football Jersey?”

THE WINNER: GREEN ARROW!!!

This one really was a quick draw contest. The first one to get off a solid hit won the fight. Frankly it could have gone either way. The dice just happened to favor Ollie today. Using GM Fiat here would have just dragged the fight on and it would have lost its showdown feel. When Frank wakes up however he’s not going to be happy, and if he wins one of these fights odds are Ollie won’t be alive for a rematch.

Fight #8: Spider-Man & Green Arrow vs. The Kingpin

Two hours after arriving in New York Oliver Queen was standing in a Queens basement as his host examined the evidence he had brought with him.

“Well from the sound of things Ollie it looks like your friend tangled with The Sandman, and old foe of mine.”

“Creative name…” Retorted The Green Arrow

“Hey, you’re not one to talk.” The Spider-man grinned from under his mask.

“As for this drug sample it looks like a watered down version of a chemical that helped create an old friend of mine. Norman Osborne, the Green Goblin.”

“So we need to find this Green Goblin guy?”

“Yes, but if Sandman’s involved there’s a chance that Gobby has assembled a new Sinister Six. And then there’s the simple fact that we don’t know where to find them.”

“Well putting aside the fact we’ll be out numbered 3 to 1 how do you suggest we find these guys?”

“We just ask the one man in New York who knows everything.” The Spider-man responded a hint of mirth in his voice.

That evening the pair stood on a Manhattan rooftop. Spidey pointed to the street below as a limo pulled up in front of a skyscraper. Ollie narrowed his eyes and watched as a man who resembled a land mass exited the limo and began to walk toward the door of the building. Ollie could spy five well dressed men all concealing pistols flanking this big man.

“Alright Spider-man, you first.” Ollie smiled.

“Hey you’re the one who’s going to be asking the questions you go first.”

The two looked at each other for a few moments and then broke out into a game of rock paper scissors. After a trio of ties Spider-man picked scissors while The Green Arrow picked paper. Ollie only sighed in frustration.

Ollie fired an arrow and a swing line trailed it. He grabbed it and swung down toward the street where he landed effortlessly on the hood of the Limo.

“Excuse me chunky, I’ve got a few questions, and if you’re a good boy I’ll give you a piece of cake for helping me.”

Up above Spider-man put his hand over his face.

“Great Ollie, piss him off why don’t ‘cha?”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Each of the three major characters start with One Hero Point. Initiative is as follows.

Spider-man, Kingpin, Green Arrow, Bodyguards.

Round 1:

Spidey quickly swings down after Ollie to make sure he doesn’t get killed. He’s intent into swinging right into one of the bodyguards, but he lets go of his webbing a split second too early and lands on the roof of the car in a crouch.

“Evenin’ Fisk. I see you’ve met my new friend… he’s visiting from the West coast.”

>>Spidey attempts to attack one of the guards and manages to roll a natural 1. <<

“Spider-man… why am I not surprised you keep such low company. I’ll have to teach you to be a little more discerning, but first…”

Fisk lashes out swinging his walking stick directly at The Green Arrow’s head. He manages to move his head backward just in time to avoid a devastating hit.

>> Fisk Accurate Attacks for 3, but still manages to miss the attack. <<

Ollie responds by quickly drawing an arrow and firing it right into Fisk’s face as he rolls backward. It erupts in a flash of bright light. Fisk tries to put his hand in front of his eyes in time, but is unsuccessful.

>>Finally someone hits! Ollie fires a dazzle arrow at Fisk. It Hits and Kingpin fails his save and is blinded for a round. <<

The Bodyguards quickly draw their pistols and begin to open fire. The two heroes manage to duck for cover and come away unharmed.

>> 5 Bodyguards, 5 Attacks, and 2 rolls over 16. And still they can’t hit our heroes! How bad ass is that? <<

Round 2:

“Well Spider-man, tell me, did you know this was going to happen? Is that why you sent me down first?”

“Know what? That you’d make a crack about Kingpin’s weight? Did it ever occur to you that he might be sensitive about being a beached whale?!?!”

Spidey quickly darts to the side and throws a punch at the nearest bodyguard who goes flying backward. Spider-man leaps over the bodyguard still in mid flight and kicks a second in the chest sending him down to the ground.

>>Spidey takes down a pair of Bodyguards with his takedown attack!.<<

Kinpin blinks furiously and takes another swing at the Green arrow. This one miraculously connects with Ollie’s face. His face contorts before Ollie has a chance to right himself.

>>Kingpin Rolls a natural 20 to recover from his dazzled state. And therefore suffers a –1 to attack rolls this round. He then accurate attacks for two and strikes Ollie who fails his damage save by 1 and takes a bruised status. <<

“You know what Spidey… I think you’re right. I hit a nerve!”

Ollie rolls off of the hood completely trying to put distance between he and Fisk. He takes a half hearted shot at one of the bodyguards and knocks him cold easily with a single shot. The remaining Bodyguard fires at Spidey who expertly dodges the attack.

Round 3:

Spiderman leaps through the air and in mid air punches the last bodyguard and kicks Kingpin in the back of the head. The bodyguard falls to the pavement unconscious. But Kingpin seems to ignore the attack.

Kingpin, still intent on Ollie pulls the stickpin from his tie and aims it right at Ollie. A misty spray spits from the jewel in the center and hits The Green Arrow right in the face. Ollie shakes his head fighting off the effects of the spray but gets a fist in the face for a reward. That huge fist connects with his jaw and Ollie goes glassy eyed as Kingpin effortlessly picks him up and hurls him across the street where The Green Arrow lays unmoving.

>>Wow, Kingpin rolls well on his touch attack with the stickpin, and forces Ollie to use his HP to re-roll. Then he burns his own HP to surge and take another attack. He makes an unarmed attack, rolls a 19, gives Ollie a Bruised and Stunned Status, and successfully grapples him throwing him like a rag doll. <<

Round 4:

“Now is that how we treat tourists in New York Fisk?”

Spidey throws an uppercut which catches a smug looking Fisk right under the jaw and knocks him backward onto the hood of his own car violently.

>>Spidey fails a taunt attempt and takes a swing at Kingpin. He hits and Kingpin fails his save by 2. He takes his first bruised status. <<

Fisk narrows his eyes and stands tall. He pulls back his fist and throws a punch, catching Peter around the face picking him up and driving him into the pavement. Spidey slips free from this grasp and comes back to a standing position apparently none the worse for wear.

>> He Power for 2 and Fisk rolls a 19 on his attack!! Spidey takes his first hit in the exchange but manages to escape from the improved grab grapple that immediately followed it. <<

Meanwhile across the street Ollie pulls himself off of the ground and draws an arrow. It strikes Fisk in the shoulder and the crime lord cringes at the sudden rush of non-lethal, but effective pain.

>>GA Power Attacks for 3 and hits, nearly getting a critical. Fisk has to use GM Fiat (HP for GA) for his toughness save and only ends up with a bruised status.<<

Round 5:

“Hey Fisk, got something on your face!”

A hiss splits the evening sky as webbing shoots from Spider-man’s wrists. To spider-Man’s Surprise Fisk displays some of that surprising agility and manages to avoid the gooey stuff that now dominates the ground where he stood a moment before.

>> Spidey goes to Snare and makes his attack, but Fisk rolls a natural 20 on his Reflex save!!! <<

“I’ve been waiting a long time for this Spider-man!” Fisk growled.

Fisk Rears back with his Walking Stick and swings viciously catching Peter in the face. Spider-man Slumps against the wall unmoving with Fisk grinning wide in pride.

>> Fisk activates his Master Plan giving him a +1 to Attacks and Checks. He Accurate Attacks for 3 and Nails Spidey. Poor Peter rolls poorly and takes his second bruised Status and is stunned.<<

“Hey you forget about me you overblown crook?!?”

Kingpin Turns his head only to have it struck with an arrow with a head shaped like a boxing glove. His eyes go glassy as he falls over and for a moment the ground seems to rumble as he falls.

>>Ollie just makes his attack roll and Kingpin manages to roll just poorly enough to end up KOed. Fight Over!! <<

Several minutes later Kingpin woke up feeling the blood rushing to his head. He groaned and opened his eyes. He had to curse inwardly. He was hanging upside down the two vigilantes who had beaten him and his bodyguard standing there. Spider-man’s insufferably cheery voice greeted him.

“Oh good he’s awake. Alright Arrow, ask him your questions.”

The Green Arrow walked up to Kingpin and smiled.

“Be a good boy and tell me where to find the Sinister Six. Maybe I’ll cut you down before I call the Bugle. And if you’re lucky you can get out of this with your reputation intact. You know the reputation of being a hypocritical bastard who feeds off the underbelly of New York like a leech but expects you to forget it because he’s in a nice suit.” Green Arrow poked Kingpin causing him to swing back and forth from the lamp post a few times.

Kingpin only scowled in anger.

“That doesn’t sound like an answer Fisk.” Spider-man said idly.

“They’re downtown. They bought up several floors of an office building under construction.” Fisk managed to spit out.

“Thanks a lot chief.” Ollie said slipping his hand into Fisk’s pocket.

Ollie pulled out Fisk’s wallet and removed about $10,000 in cash. Ollie smiled.

“Thanks for the donation. There are hundreds of needy people in the city who thank you Fisk.”

Ollie waved and walked away as Spider-man shrugged to The Kingpin in return and followed The Green Arrow.

THE WINNER: GREEN ARROW & SPIDER-MAN!!

Well this fight was pretty much a forgone conclusion, but between fighting smart, and some lucky rolls Kingpin really managed to bring the pain. However both Green Arrow and Spider-man managed to get out of the fight with a Hero Point, which will carry over to the next fight and the climax of this particular Story line. However when I went to use the webshooters I realized a pretty important edit I need to make to the character.

Fight #9: The Sinister Six vs. Spider-Man, The Green Arrow, and Black Canary

Ollie and Pete soon after found themselves discussing strategy back in queens.

“You do realize it’s a trap right Spider-Man?”

“Well that much is a given. Fisk would sooner swallow his own tongue than tell us what we wanted after the lecture you gave him.” The Web-slinger responded.

“So we can expect everyone in this Sinister Six to be there at once?”

“Yeah pretty much, and without knowing the exact roster I can’t say how big a risk tangling with them would be.”

“Well I guess it’s time to call in the Calvary. Mind if I use your phone?”

“Sure if it’s long distance just make sure the call is quick… My wife would frown on lengthy long distance phone calls to other attractive Red heads.” The Spider-Man grinned.

Ollie only smiled in return and reached for the phone he dialed a number and began to speak.

“Hey Barbara. Yeah it’s me Ollie, we tracked the stuff you’re after. That’s the good news, the bad news is that to find out where they’re producing the stuff our Web-slinging friend and I are going to waltz into a trap that will likely have us outnumbered 3 to 1.”

He nodded a few times and then winced.

“She did slug you? Ouch sorry about that. Well if she’s feeling frisky enough to punch a woman in a wheelchair we could use her help here in New York.”

He nodded Once more.

“Alright. Let me give you the address here. Thanks a lot Barbara. Bye.”

Ollie hung up the phone and smiled.

“Good news I trust?” Spider-Man added.

“Yep, now we’re only outnumbered 2 to 1.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everyone in this mess will start with one Hero Point Except for Ollie and Pete who bring an extra one with them from the previous fight. Sandman will also receive an extra Hero Point because of the loss he suffered against Dinah earlier in the Story line. Doc Ock spends his Hero Point to re-roll on his Master Plan and rolls a 20. So when he activates it he receives a +3 on his Attack rolls for Three Rounds and it will begin to decrease. Gobby has also prepared an invention….

Nullify [Danger Sense] 4 (Extras: Area {Cloud} [+1], Duration {Concentration] [+1]; 12ep)

Initiative: Spider-Man, Venom, Shocker, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Vulture, Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Sandman

Spider-Man and Green Arrow stand across the street from an apparently abandoned construction site. Ollie sighs a bit.

“Well I can’t see them down there.”

“Oh they’re in there. My Spider Sense is going nuts.”

“Well then I’ll trust your tingling sensation.”

“Why is it that every time I find you Ollie you’re talking about one tingling sensation or another?” A feminine voice came out from behind the men.

Both Men turned to see The Black Canary standing behind them with a hand on her hip and a smirk on her face.

“So are we going to go do this or not?” She asked.

“After you Arrow.” Spider-man said mischievously.

The two men glared at one another before another game of rock paper scissors broke out. They had tied once when Dinah groaned out loud.

“What are you a pair of twelve year olds? I’ll go first.”

Dinah was already climbing down the fire escape leaving both men staring at one another. Finally The Green Arrow broke the Awkward silence.

“Ladies first I guess.”

The three are reunited just past the entrance of the site. They look around at the tall metal skeleton extending into the heavens and the trailers and vehicles dominating the ground.

Suddenly a muscular figure dressed head to toe in black leaps from the shadows of the metal girders right at the trio.

>> Venom had a Stealth Roll of 26. Spider-Man and Green Arrow blew the Notice check. Dinah didn’t. They will both act in the surprise round. <<

Surprise Round:

Venom’s massive hand wraps around Spider-Man’s face and drives it through the wooden fence of construction site. Venom tries to yank his head out to further manhandle him but is unsuccessful. He gives up for the moment.

Before Venom can savor his victory he turns to find a fist, thrown by everyone’s favorite blonde bombshell, connecting with his mid-section. There was a moment where his fanged mouth gapped open in pain at the sudden power of the attack.

>> OUCH! Spidey spends his first HP to re-roll his toughness save. Manages to roll well enough to only take a bruised hit and a stunned status. Meanwhile Dinah power attacks for 5. She hits Venom HARD. He manages to walk away with a bruised status after spending his hero point [or anti-hero point as the case may be.] <<

Round 1:

Spidey pulls his head out of the wooden fence and yells out.

“Canary use your cry on him!!”

He then proceeds to launch himself directly into Melee with Venom driving a knee into Brock’s face only to leap away not stopping to see the results, a glassy eyed venom stumbling slightly where he stands.

>>Spidey spends his last Hero Point to shake off his stunned status and attacks. He hits Brock who rolls poorly on his toughness save and takes his second bruised status and is stunned. <<

“Damnit Brock!” A voice rings out as Shocker runs out of a bright blue trailer. He lifts both hands pointing them directly at Green Arrow before unleashing a vibration blast. Ollie of course ducks to the hide that vibration shattering the wooden fence like it were glass.

>> Shocker All-Out Attacks for 5 and still misses Ollie. <<

Dinah quickly nods and opens her mouth wide. A wave of sonic force issued from her throat and struck the defenseless Venom. His muscular body began to convulse in pain, screeching violently.

>>Dinah spends her HP for extra effort removing the Full Action flaw on her sonic control. BAM Venom suffers a –1 to all his ability scores. <<

The Green Arrow lands in a crouch and looses an arrow at Shocker as soon as he emerges from his trailer. The arrow’s head erupts into a boxing glove an inch from The Shocker’s face. He stumbles backwards in surprise at the well aimed attack.

>>Ollie Power Attacks for 3. Shocker needs to spend his Hero point to re-roll the toughness save, but still fails enough to wind up stunned and with a bruised status. <<

Sudden a winged figure swoops down from the metal girders flying over everyone’s head taking a quick dive at The Green Arrow. Ollie quickly rolls forward leaving The Vulture with a hand full of dirt for his effort.

A large container suddenly erupts as the four mechanical arms of Doc Ock rip it apart and lunges toward Spider-Man. The Wall-Crawler, still balanced on the remainder of the fence bends over backwards with surprising quickness avoiding the Mechanical limb entirely.

>> Doc Ock activates his Master Plan. But Still manages to miss. <<

Suddenly another figure swoops from the girders, this one aloft a metal glider. He cackles maniacally tossing of all things a pumpkin towards the rear of the melee developing. The pumpkin explodes in a fiery haze amongst the fighting. Our heroes all manage to jump clear. Venom finds himself caught in the blast. Squealing more in pain, but surprisingly not hurt by it.

>>Apparently Gobby isn’t too happy with Venom springing the trap early. Our heroes make their reflex saves, and their toughness saves. Even venom manages to make his damage save! <<

“Hey Cutie Remember me?!?!” A loud voice bellowed.

Suddenly a pile of dirt near the entrance turns into the human form of Sandman. Seeing Black Canary his eyes go wide and he launches a pillar like appendage in her direction. However the canary manages to sidestep the attack not even giving Sandman a second look.

Round 2:

Spider-Man whistles to Green Arrow and points up at the Green Goblin. Ollie Looks upward at him and nods.

>>Spider-Man delays his action so that he and Ollie can combo attack Gobby. <<

Venom continues to writhe in pain and takes a swipe at his tormentor. However he begins to stumble landing on his face instead of making his attack.

>>Venom All-Out attacks for 3. But rolls a natural 1. <<

Dinah keeps on screaming that cone of sonic force beating into Venom’s prone form. He continues squealing defenselessly.

>>Dinah switches to the Stun Ray Version of her cry. Venom fails his save and is dazed. He takes another –1 to all of his ability scores. Up to –2 total. <<

Green Arrow launches an arrow in The Green Goblin’s direction. Spider-Man at the same time fires a pair of web lines at the girder on either side of Norman. Peter then launches himself feet first at his foe. Peter reaches the Goblin right behind Ollie’s arrow and drives his foot into the arrow giving it extra omph as it slams into its target. The Goblin’s laugher stops as he’s kicked clean off of his glider and sent flying down into the ground with enough force to dig nearly a foot into the hard ground.

>>Green Arrow Power Attacks for 2. Meanwhile Spidey goes to aid that attack. They both hit and Ollie’s Damage gets an Instant +2. That’s more than enough to send Green Goblin flying, with a bruised and stunned Status and minus one Hero Point for the re-roll. <<

Ollie smiles warmly in admiration at just how beautiful a move that was. He easily ducks a dive bomb by the Vulture still admiring his handy work. He then hears someone clearing his throat to his side. Ollie turns his head to see a very unimpressed Doc Ock. Suddenly he’s caught in the stomach by a swinging metal tentacle. Ollie is forced to roll backwards and contemplate the sudden throbbing in his midsection.

>>Vulture Uses an aid action to give Doc Ock a +4 to hit. As a result Ollie ends up taking his first bruised Hit. <<

“Look at me when I’m talkin’ to ya!!”

Another vicious swing of his sandy limb is launched toward Black Canary. This once catches her in the shoulder and brings her down to a knee. However she keeps her cry directed at Venom perfectly.

>>Black Canary has to spend her Hero Point, but she fails her save by 2. Takes her first bruised hit. <<

Round 3:

Spider-Man perched on the high iron of the construction site does a back flip and hurtles down toward the ground landing right into Gobby’s back. The Green goblin groans out loud and his head sinks into the dirt. He stops moving entirely.

>>Spidey attacks the stunned Green Goblin. With the Sneak Attack Damage and a bad roll Green Goblin is KOed. <<

Meanwhile the shocker points both fists at Ollie and unleashes a violent wave of force in the archer’s direction Ollie ducks to the side that blast missing him entirely.

Dinah leaps into the air on the way down she focuses her open mouth on Venom’s prone form. She lands driving an axe handle slam into his upper back as he struggles to find his feet. As soon as that attack is leveled he’s driven into the ground like a spike.

>>Black Canary maintains her concentration as a move action with a successful concentration check. Dinah switches to The Blast Effect. Venom fails his toughness save, and takes his third bruised status, and is stunned. Dinah makes her unarmed attack at a Power Attack for 5. BAM Venom is Knocked Cold! And Oh yeah that’s a –3 to all ability scores. <<

Ollie meanwhile points an Arrow at the Sandman. Ollie grins seeing Sandman, still overexposed from his attack on The Black Canary. He fires and the arrow sinks into his Sandy body. The Sandman only laughs.

“That the best you got little man?”

“Yeah, that’s about it.” Ollie quips.

Then suddenly water bursts out of Sandman’s chest in a torrent. He screams in pain as his hands fall in front of the wound.

>> Ollie blows his first HP to extra effort a Water Arrow. He then Power attacks for 5. He hits, and Sandman has to blow his first HP to re-roll. Even with that aim he takes a bruised hit and is stunned. However he also takes a –1 to all ability scores. <<

The Vulture swoops once again taking move at Dinah who quickly moves out of the way. However she quickly seems she’d dodged right into one of Doc Ock’s metal tentacles. Dinah thinking quickly manages to wrap her hands around the tentacle and rolls over it as it moves to rip her in half. She lands gracefully on the ground unhurt a little grin on her face.

>>Ock attacks again, with all his bonuses [including another bit of Aid from Vulture] he’s up to +19 Bonus to hit. He hits, but Dinah rolls a 19 on her save!!! She’s entirely unhurt! <<

Round 4:

Spiderman fires another web line toward the girders and swings directly into the Sandman. Sending him flying backward right into some debris.

>> Spidey charges and hits the stunned Sandman. However being immune to critical hits he’s immune to sneak attacks. So Sandy fails his toughness save, even after spending his last Hero Point. He takes his second Bruised Status. <<

Shocker hurls another vibration blast directly at Spider-Man. His Spider Sense goes crazy and tries to leap out of the way taking the blast him the back falling to the ground near where Sandman crashed a split second before.

>>Shocker All-Out Attacks for 5 and with a little GM Fiat hits Spidey. Spidey racks up his second bruised hit, but gets a Hero Point. <<

“Ollie, remember how I feel about guys who are all hands?”

“If I recall you have a fondness for yelling at them very loudly.”

“Aww you remembered.”

>>Dinah delays her action for a Combination Attack with Ollie.<<

Ollie rushes to his side and crouches right in front of Dinah. He fires an arrow at the exact moment she turns up the volume on her Canary cry. Suddenly that Arrow finds itself pushed forward even faster The arrow and the wave of sonic force both crashed into Doctor Octopus sending him hurtling backwards and into the ground violently.

>>I LOVE combo attacks. Ollie spends his last Hero Point to re-roll the attack and gets a Critical Hit!! The Save DC ends up being 30!! Doctor Octopus uses GM Fiat to only walk away with a Bruised Hit and Stunned. <<

The Vulture flies overhead and tries to swing at Dinah. She easily avoids the attack and this time looks around to make sure no one else is going to try and put her into the ground.

Normally that would be a problem, but Sandman pulls himself together and lashes out at Spider-Man instead. That sandy appendage slams violently into the web slinger and it throws him all the way into the skeletal frame of the building. A nearly unconscious Spider-Man manages to roll out of the grasp of Sandman’s grainy tendrils.

>> Sandman All-Out Attacks for three again and just manages to hit Spider-Man. Spider-Man has to use his newly earned HP to Re-Roll the toughness save. He does, and still winds up bruised (up to 3 now) and stunned. Fortunately he beats Sandman’s grapple check with an impressive roll. <<

Round 5:

Shocker Quickly turns his attention away from Spider-Man and this time attempts to blast Dinah. However despite his great aim she ducks her way free of the attack. She quickly responds by rushing at the off-balance Doc Ock. She uses her canary cry to force him into the air and then leaps up underneath him leveling a series of upward punches. She stepped away as the tentacle wielding doctor hit the ground unmoving. Dinah only stood there with a hand on her hip.

>>Dinah makes her Concentration check to maintain her cry as a Move action. She hits with the cry (which hits Doc with another bruised Status), and then she Power Attacks for 5, with her sneak attack that’s +14 damage. Forget it. Otto is out cold! <<

Ollie quickly wheels around and launches another water arrow at the once again exposed Sandman. The arrow sinks into him his body and erupts through his neck causing the sandman to wrench over to his side not moving at all.

>>Ollie Power Attacks for 5 Again. He rolls an 18, but since Sandy is immune to crits he’s safe. He ends up botching his save anyhow and his KO ed. Oh yeah, and he suffers another –1 to his ability scores (-2 total) <<

The vulture swoops once again taking a poorly aimed attack at Ollie’s neck. The Green Arrow dropped to a knee thus foiling the attack entirely.

Round 6:

Spider-Man shakes his head coming to. He quickly aims for the flying form of The Vulture above. A stream of webbing catches him and by fighting he manages to get himself hopelessly tied up in it. He falls to the ground with a thud.

>>Spidey uses his Web shooters, Vulture doesn’t do too hot on his reflex save and is Helpless. <<

Shocker seeing the tide of battle turn so quickly turns himself and begins bolting for the other side of the construction site.

Dinah runs after him keeping her Canary cry up. It hits Herman right in the side and he’s thrown back into the fence. Recovering slowly from the attack.

>>Shocker runs, but fails his reflex save. He takes a nasty hit from Dinah’s Canary Cry. He takes a second hit and is stunned. Let’s call the fight over. <<

Green Arrow stands over vulture’s helpless form. He smiles slyly at the elderly criminal.

“Now… be a dear and tell me where your friend is making his serum… if not..”

He looked over his shoulder to the smiling form of Dinah cracking her knuckles menacingly.

Several hours later the NYPD raided a Queens warehouse. There they seized 200 gallons of the street drug version of the goblin Serum. All the machinery was destroyed and the Sinister Six were taken into custody. Several Eye Witnesses saw Spider-Man fighting the Sinister Six, but publisher J. Jonah Jameson simply noted that Spider-Man had helpers with him leading him to believe that Spider-Man was only involved because The Sinister Six were competitors in the designer drug market.

THE WINNERS: SPIDER-MAN, GREEN ARROW, & BLACK CANARY

WOW! It was a knock down drag out brawl. Spider-man was on the ropes from the Surprise round, but his friends managed to keep some of the heavier foes out of the fight by keeping them stunned. Then Spidey got to do clean up duty. I also got to use the combined attack rules and they really made a difference in the fight. Shocker might be in need of a tweak, but I love how this group worked together. Also Vulture proved to be a perfect team player, he helped propel Doc Ock’s attack bonus to +19!! If it wasn’t for the combined attack on him (and Ollie’s Critical Hit) he would have wreaked a great deal of havok.
