I think I have the right thread now.

Beleriphon, quick question about your Gimli build: why did you elect to give him Attack Focus (Melee) 2 and Attack Focus (Ranged) 2? Is this a typo?

Wow, I like the Greek Myth stuff (I'm a bit of a myth nerd myself), and how you separated the admittedly ultra-similar Greek heroes. Greek storytellers DID kinda make them all their version of the ideal Greek male, didn't they? Strong, handsome, tough, deviously smart, and ridiculously lustful. I'll be taking a shot at some God-Type builds in the future that are a bit more comics-intensive (ie. made for the modern age), but these myth-accurate heroes are pretty great. Look forward to seeing more.

More then likely, or I just completely spaced out on that.

 This would of course be the classical character whom I have drawn my own screen name from. In fact its the one that I use at all opportunities, so if you frequent the WotC boards you'll find me there as well.
 Bellerophon is a pretty neat mythical character in that his story is ultimately about how hubris can be your downfall. By the time he hits middle age he's decided that after being quite the famous monster killer its time to join Zeus and company on Olympus. Suffice to say this is a bad idea and he falls from Pegasus as he's ascending Olympus. Bellerophon ends up a cripple, because even a fall of several thousand feet can't kill the guy, and nobody will go near him for fear of Zeus' wrath. Too bad for guy that was nearly one par with modern superheroes in terms of attitude.

Good stuff. I like your interpretations of these mythic heroes.

Also good call not giving Atalanta any ranks in Sense Motive...that is one gullible girl.

I was thinking about it, but the whole thing with apples clinched it for me. I prefer the version of the myth where she isn't complicit in the scheme.

 Reusing artwork....
 The minotaur, like all things Greek there is only one, despite what D&D would have you believe. At any rate he's a nasty customer with the strength and stamina of a bull. Being of large size he's best suited to grappling. although his strike, representing the horns and a sort of gore, is certainly deadly to the average person.
 While the stories aren't entirely clear on how intelligent the minotaur was, it was certainly implied that it was just a monster. I've opted to make it more intelligent than an animal, although its still pretty stupid. However with a good wisdom score it allows for a certain cunning in hunting its prey in the Labyrinth.
 The minotaur will be using its Favoured Environment bonus in the attack bonus aspect, otherwise it just has an abysmal attack bonus.

What a lot of Bull. . . 8)

I wonder if old Taurus would recognise his youthful self in this build. . .

Classic stuff, by the by.

 The guardian of Hades is one mean mofo of a dog. I've opted to make him Medium sized, although he's certainly at the upper end of Medium size.
 Cerberus' additional limbs is for its tail, and the three heads thing. The drain is the snake like tail. Good times.

Not if you try passing him without a doggy biscuit. 8)

(A hat trick! huzzah! All right I'm done. For now. . .)

Good builds, and I can hardly wait to see your Arthurian characters.

Neither can I. Great builds, Beleriphon.

Thank you. Now I just need to decide if I want to go the mythical Arthurian route, or the Jack Whyte realistic Arthurian route. I'm currently leaning towards the mythic, so Merlin is probably going to have a permanent precog going.

Or one could split the difference and stat up the mythic version, while including some guidelines for converting to a more historic approach.

Oh, and if you want to read about a truely historic Arthur, try reading Bernard Cornwell's "The Warlord Chronicles". There is no finer historic edition of Arthur than that.

Sweet, I like Jack Whyte largely because he does a good job of showing how the historic versions fit in with the mythic.

I have a few monsters set up and ready to go, Siryns and a few other odds and ends then on to Arthur and the other lot.

 The chimera is a fun creature because I can borrow rather liberally from the D&D version. However, the one that the myth never makes clear is how many heads the stupid thing has, I've chosen to go with a single head and a multitude of body parts.
