I cannot wait for that season of Heroes to come out DVD so I can actually watch it. All the people at work know I am a comic geek and several of them watch the show. And none of them can believe I didn't watch hardly any of it. But hearing people talk about it and seeing these builds makes ME wonder why I didn't watch it this year!

Great write-ups, Snowman. I don't care for the use of "Variable Power" (I consider it a cop-out, as it basically doesn't tell us anything about what the characters can do), but with that caveat, these are great. I particularly like how you fleshed out little things like Sylar's ability to blend in with a crowd. Nicely done.

Say, what do you think of that voice thing Sylar does? He did it three or four times in the series, but as far as I could tell it didn't have a major effect. It clearly wasn't any kind of mind control or anything like that. I am thinking maybe it's a special effect of Fearsome Presence (albeit a relatively small amount). What do you guys think?

Someone over in the big Heroes thread in the Sidekicks Lounge posted a bit from a Tim Kring interview where he said that Sylar definantly didn't get Eden's powers and that the voice thing was added in by the sound people for dramatic effect.

Over in the Heroes thread in the Sidekick's lounge, someone linked to a Q&A session with one of the writers/producers/whatever on the show where this was asked. According to him, those voice FX were essentially just put in for drama/coolness by the sound guys, and didn't have any significance.

Pretty sloppy and a bit lame in my opinion, given the nature of show, especially considering the voice FX sounded very similar to the ones already established for Eden when using her powers.

Just goes to show, just because someone wrote something, that doesn't mean that they are the final expert on it.

 Here’s Heroes resident psychic, Matt Parkman. Matt is a standard issue cop who just happens to be able to read the thoughts of those around him. He can read the surface thoughts of everyone around him as a free action. However, he needs to be able to understand the language that the person is thinking in for it to work. And when that power doesn’t work he’s got his usual array of police devices. This generally means that he can take a hit and dish one out against normal human foes. Unfortunately when it comes to fighting powered foes he's way over his head.

A telepathic policeman? I hope he doesn't get assigned to the Vice Squad. . .

 Here’s a little used Villain, The Silver Samurai. I used a few tricks on him that I’d learned elsewhere. In essence he has a wildly powerful strike attack, as long as he has a sword to use as a focus. Aside from that he’s very strong and can comfortably lift 7.4 tons, and 14.7 tons if he uses extra effort. Aside from those perks he’s pretty much a straight weapon master character. However his long past with the underworld gives him contacts, and street knowledge to bring into a fight. I read about him having a Teleportation ring, I didn’t feel inclined to add it to this build but if you need it…

Device 1 [Teleportation Ring -Teleportation 5 (Flaw: Tiring [-1]); 4pp]

So, in my process of the project I'm working on, I came across this edit and noticed his super strength. Now, I've not read everything that he's has been in, but after checking the original Official Guide, the Master Guide and the All New Guide - I feel very comfortable in stating that Silver Samurai does not have super strength. In the Master Guide he is stated to have Athlete strength, and in the All New Guide (Wolverine 04) he is at Normal Strength. I noticed on the web at the Marvel Encyclopedia page - he has him listed as Superhuman 10 - but he also has listed (as Lykos) at the end, which makes me think he forgot to erase the strength level of Sauron before starting Silver Samurai.

Would changing the Boost and Healing to the Chi power streamline this any, or would it work out to be the same? I wasn't sure when I looked in the Ultimate Power.

Ok, now that I'm trying to totally make a mess out of this topic with my 3 posts in a row, but I promise that this post is actually useful! I give you... an updated PDF!

http://www.monkfu.com/tickkid/snowmanmarvel.pdf

This is version .6
Things I have left to compete are:
 Putting the edits in alphabetic order
 Making a Table of Contents
 Adding mini edits that are part of major edits (such as Lockheed, Emma's Diamond Form version, Wolfsbane's Wolf Form, etc)
 Possibly doing some bolding to help readability

I don't really know when I'll get .5 up to 1.0 - but this at least at 99% of MDSnowman's edits.

Huge credit goes to the person that created the original PDF's for MDSnowman. I pretty much copied that design exactly - because it was so great. If anyone knows his/her username, please let me know and I'll edit this post (and the file) to give him/her proper credit.

I would love it if someone could proofread this against all the edits if they had time (it is very likely that you'll see parts of Wallflower randomly in other edits as she was my default. I'm sick of looking at her.).

I don't know what my schedule for the rest are. It takes me anywhere from 2-6 minutes per character to get them in depending. I was thinking about maybe doing BARON's DC edits in another file before doing Snowman's DC edits. For now, I'm just going to get the heck away from my computer and we will go from there.

:!: Update 6/3/07 :!:
Ok, added Silver Samurai to the PDF

Sorry for the delay in getting to you, Silver Samurai had Super strength when I did that build, according to wikipedia's entry of him.
