The League to this point has not been able to stop these actions but has been able to moderate them... so far.

So My first major character post in mews little thread. Mako prince of atlantis and WOW!! what a whale of a tale he is. currently starring in a friends M&M legacy campaign.
Mako is a brawler extreme. he hits like a ton of bricks and can take a decent punch as well. Though with no impervious defence he's best off when he freight trains someone early and hard. Hence he has improved initative and speed to get the jump on opponents quickly.

Mako has all the classic powers associated with a hybrid human-atlantean (ala namor). fast, strong, as all get out especially when hes wet.
he's a smart canny fighter and should be played that way. That being said he prefers a straight up scrap if at all possible, But if unable to win early. He'll resort to cunning. He's also capable of being a good leader and giving his teamates a boost (leadership)

Lastly His Flowing The Current. Is heavilly inspired by Avatar the Last Airbender, as well as Aqualad's water control from the Teen Titans cartoon. With it he can create huge gallons of water or ice, move up to 3 tons of it, fire blasts of ice or water, and perform a number of stunts.
His most feared attack is for all intents and purposes the rasengan. <translated from the atlantean as Poseidons fist>

. Gathering a ball of water in his hand, he mixes it with small diamond hard ice chips. Which combined with the high pressure rotation create an effect like a belt sander that can punch holes in steel and other similarly tough obstacles.

Recent edit and update to clean him up and bring him mroe inline with the vision I had of him.

Prince Aric of Atlantis is the result of an attempt by Atlantis to better understand the surface world. His father a cousin of Queen Mera proposed to Arthur that the creation of a corporation on the surface world would enable Atlantis to both make use of and understand the surface worlds ways to better protect Atlantis. The proprosal was unorthodox and met with much skepticism but Arthur relented and Oceanic Industries was born. As his father used the corporation to and its resulting influence to push pro-ecological agendas especialy ones that protected the ocean and furthered Atlantean goals. One unpexected thing happened. He fell in love. A young assistant working for him caught his eye and within a year they were married, within 2 years she was pregnant and a new member of the royal family third in line to the throne was welcomed into Atlantean society with much fanfare, and a bit of grumbling on the parts of hardliners who did not take kindly to the presence of a surface worlder or her blood infecting the royal line ((a complaint kept well away from the half-blooded king)).
Prince Aric grew up in Atlantis but also spending time in the Surface world where he was educated in its ways and tried to understand both worlds. The mroe he saw though the more he came to dislike the Surface world fileld as it was with violence, Suffering and greed. Still his mother was a strong woman and loved him very deeply so she stayed firm and instilled in him a respect for all life no matter where it dwelled.
As he grew his own powers grew with him. An almost sharklike power and a kinship with the apex predators of the sea brought him to the attention of both Atlantean hardliners and the King. Aquaman took him under his wing to train him personally while he also received training by the Atlantean royal guard. Secretly a cabal of hardliners disatisfied with the kings alleged softnes towards the surface world tried to recruit him into a coup against the king. At first he listend his own Atlantean preferences rising to the fore, but as he listened to their plans to do what the original uprising by Lord Orm failed to do (Justice league episodes 6-7 The threat from below). He turned on them and told the King their plans. In retaliation the hardliners tried to kill his mother but failed and killed his father instead. enraged Aric delivered a terrible beating to the assassins and would have gone further but was stopped by his mother in time.
Seeing a need for the angry young man to focus his rage Arthur ordered him to server time in the Justice League to honor his fathers memory and serve as his eyes and ears in the League so Arthur could better focus on Atlantis to insure that hardliners would not rise again.
Aric accepted and made a splash literally when he towed a sinking submarine into port saving the Navy Crewmen aboard. Now he fights as part of the league while helping his mother to run his fathers company which Atlantis--specifically Aquaman--owns full shares of.
Powers: Mako is a Powerhouse and half. he hits like a ton of bricks and can take a decent shot as well. He has all the basic Atlantean abilities, life support, Swimming enhanced strength and speed. He also has amazing senses like his namesake, he can smell a drop of blood in the water up to a mile away, sense vibrations, and detect Electromagnetic emmissions, and track scents like a bloodhound.
Also like his namesake once he gets a scent he doesnt quit until hes found it and hunted it down.
Personality: Aric is equal parts angry young man, and Noble royal. He is angry because of the deprevations of the surface world and its seeming arrogance towards Atlantis. its greed and pettiness. But he also had his mothers caring for all things drilled into him from birth and hes seen what the hatred can be like coming from the Atlantean side of the fence. In effect two worlds are at war within him, something King Arthur knows very well.
So while he can come off as a bit of a jerk at times, and even a bit hot tempered. He has a noble and courageous side that cannot be denied. he doesnt back down from a challenge and doesnt quit until hes victorious. As a noble of Atlantis he also will do what he has to to protect innocents and help people. he may not like the surface world but that doesnt mean he wants to see anyone suffer.
Appearance: A tall, handsome, Athleticly built young man of Atlantean origin with Black hair, and Blue eyes like ice. The intensity of the blue seems to change with his emotions, from the calm of a clear carribean sea to the rage of a storm tossed ocean. his Eyes can even go black and soulless like a sharks when he attacks someone with full intensity. Makos costume consists of a one piece Black bodysuit with blue trim and edging. that leaves his face exposed.
Makos a pretty straightforward concept. Shark Senses combined with endurance and strength and speed means that once he chooses a target hell stay after them until they surrender or he beats them into unconciousness. He hasnt killed anyone but it could happen Like Aquaman he isnt shy about doing what needs to be done, though hes unlikely to do so out of malice or vigilantism. He and hawkgirl are fairly similar in this regard less talking more hitting. this doesnt mean hes stupid or adverse to diplomacy--son of a diplomat--he simply prefers action to words. Still hes read Art of War and The book of five rings and uses tactics where ever possible.

Family: Mako cares very deeply for his mother Rosalynn, and his baby sister. Any one who hurts them will have a relentless predator on their heels forever.
Dehydration: Mako like most Atlanteans must periodically refresh himself in a body of water or risk deydration, too much deydration could prove fatal.
Responsibility/Relationship: Oranna of House Kamuu aka Aquawoman a distant cousin Aric has feelings for a cousin who heled temper his outrignht hatred for humanity to something more workable. She helped him overcome quiote a few things and he feels indebted to her. She is also the only person beside the King who knows the truth of his secret about the Naguar. He may very well be falling in love with her.
Secret: Mako has gone uncover among the Naguar to expose them and their backers among the nobility. This places him under incredible danger as very few people know the truth.
