for those of you familiar with the City of Heroes forums the title well make sense for those not, well hope you dont get airsick. :D

This is your favorite crazy kitties homage to the great builders of this forum. Taelsin, MD Snowman, Joshua Dunlow, Kerian Valentine, Baron, Wordmaker, and any others I've failed to mention. Mew wants to thank them all for the awesome builds and fights and ongoing stories which have kept us entertained. And cant wait to see many more from you all.

This thread well be conversions and original heroes of mews own. As well as if you cant guess from the title a few fights thrown in, and even my own attempt at a story or 2 along the way.

A few design notes. These are original conversions and creations. Using M&M 2nd ed. With some house rules and options from the Masterminds Manual, Ultimate Power, and a few suggestions from the forums.

PL well average 10 or higher, and well prolly hover around the 10 mark if possible.

Please feel free to add any commentary you see fit. compliments are allways welcome and appreciated, and if you have any questions please feel free to ask Ill gladly answer best I can given mew's limited typing skills. I'll also gladly take any requests you have and attempt to put mew's own unique touch on them.

Responsibility: Atlantis, Justice League, Oceanic Industries: Mako takes his responsibilites to protect Atlantis and the oceans very seriously . he has already sunk a couple of whaling vessels who violated International anti-whaling treaties, and at least one Fishing Cannery ship had to be towed into port after he tore its rudders off for catching dolphins indiscriminately and left it to drift. The League to this point has not been able to stop these actions but has been able to moderate them... so far.

Temper: Mako has a bit of a temper but it manifests as a cold rage. The euphamism revenge is a dish best served cold, and its very cold at the bottom of the seas was made for him.

Honor and Nobility": As a member of the Atlantean Royal Family Mako has a responsibility to act in an honorable and noble fashion. he treats people with respect and dignity. conversly insulting him, his mother , or Atlantis is a bad idea.

Jerk with a heart of gold: caught between to worlds Mako tends to sometimes rub people the wrong way, he cna be a bit arrogant and come off as bit of a jerk, But its all an act to keep himself protected from people.

:arrow: So My first major character post in mews little thread. Mako prince of atlantis and WOW!! what a whale of a tale he is. currently starring in a friends M&M legacy campaign.

Mako is a brawler extreme. he hits like a ton of bricks and can take a decent punch as well. Though with no impervious defence he's best off when he freight trains someone early and hard. Hence he has improved initative and speed to get the jump on opponents quickly.

:arrow: Mako has all the classic powers associated with a hybrid human-atlantean (ala namor). fast, strong, as all get out especially when hes wet.

he's a smart canny fighter and should be played that way. That being said he prefers a straight up scrap if at all possible, But if unable to win early. He'll resort to cunning. He's also capable of being a good leader and giving his teamates a boost (leadership)

:arrow: Lastly His Flowing The Current. Is heavilly inspired by Avatar the Last Airbender, as well as Aqualad's water control from the Teen Titans cartoon. With it he can create huge gallons of water or ice, move up to 3 tons of it, fire blasts of ice or water, and perform a number of stunts.

His most feared attack is for all intents and purposes the rasengan. <translated from the atlantean as Poseidons fist> :twisted:. Gathering a ball of water in his hand, he mixes it with small diamond hard ice chips. Which combined with the high pressure rotation create an effect like a belt sander that can punch holes in steel and other similarly tough obstacles.

:arrow: Recent edit and update to clean him up and bring him mroe inline with the vision I had of him.

Prince Aric of Atlantis is the result of an attempt by Atlantis to better understand the surface world. His father a cousin of Queen Mera proposed to Arthur that the creation of a corporation on the surface world would enable Atlantis to both make use of and understand the surface worlds ways to better protect Atlantis. The proprosal was unorthodox and met with much skepticism but Arthur relented and Oceanic Industries was born. As his father used the corporation to and its resulting influence to push pro-ecological agendas especialy ones that protected the ocean and furthered Atlantean goals. One unpexected thing happened. He fell in love. A young assistant working for him caught his eye and within a year they were married, within 2 years she was pregnant and a new member of the royal family third in line to the throne was welcomed into Atlantean society with much fanfare, and a bit of grumbling on the parts of hardliners who did not take kindly to the presence of a surface worlder or her blood infecting the royal line ((a complaint kept well away from the half-blooded king)).

Prince Aric grew up in Atlantis but also spending time in the Surface world where he was educated in its ways and tried to understand both worlds. The mroe he saw though the more he came to dislike the Surface world fileld as it was with violence, Suffering and greed. Still his mother was a strong woman and loved him very deeply so she stayed firm and instilled in him a respect for all life no matter where it dwelled.

As he grew his own powers grew with him. An almost sharklike power and a kinship with the apex predators of the sea brought him to the attention of both Atlantean hardliners and the King. Aquaman took him under his wing to train him personally while he also received training by the Atlantean royal guard. Secretly a cabal of hardliners disatisfied with the kings alleged softnes towards the surface world tried to recruit him into a coup against the king. At first he listend his own Atlantean preferences rising to the fore, but as he listened to their plans to do what the original uprising by Lord Orm failed to do (Justice league episodes 6-7 The threat from below). He turned on them and told the King their plans. In retaliation the hardliners tried to kill his mother but failed and killed his father instead. enraged Aric delivered a terrible beating to the assassins and would have gone further but was stopped by his mother in time.

Seeing a need for the angry young man to focus his rage Arthur ordered him to server time in the Justice League to honor his fathers memory and serve as his eyes and ears in the League so Arthur could better focus on Atlantis to insure that hardliners would not rise again.

Aric accepted and made a splash literally when he towed a sinking submarine into port saving the Navy Crewmen aboard. Now he fights as part of the league while helping his mother to run his fathers company which Atlantis--specifically Aquaman--owns full shares of.

Powers: Mako is a Powerhouse and half. he hits like a ton of bricks and can take a decent shot as well. He has all the basic Atlantean abilities, life support, Swimming enhanced strength and speed. He also has amazing senses like his namesake, he can smell a drop of blood in the water up to a mile away, sense vibrations, and detect Electromagnetic emmissions, and track scents like a bloodhound.

Also like his namesake once he gets a scent he doesnt quit until hes found it and hunted it down.

Personality: Aric is equal parts angry young man, and Noble royal. He is angry because of the deprevations of the surface world and its seeming arrogance towards Atlantis. its greed and pettiness. But he also had his mothers caring for all things drilled into him from birth and hes seen what the hatred can be like coming from the Atlantean side of the fence. In effect two worlds are at war within him, something King Arthur knows very well.

So while he can come off as a bit of a jerk at times, and even a bit hot tempered. He has a noble and courageous side that cannot be denied. he doesnt back down from a challenge and doesnt quit until hes victorious. As a noble of Atlantis he also will do what he has to to protect innocents and help people. he may not like the surface world but that doesnt mean he wants to see anyone suffer.

Appearance: A tall, handsome, Athleticly built young man of Atlantean origin with Black hair, and Blue eyes like ice. The intensity of the blue seems to change with his emotions, from the calm of a clear carribean sea to the rage of a storm tossed ocean. his Eyes can even go black and soulless like a sharks when he attacks someone with full intensity. Makos costume consists of a one piece Black bodysuit with blue trim and edging. that leaves his face exposed.

Makos a pretty straightforward concept. Shark Senses combined with endurance and strength and speed means that once he chooses a target hell stay after them until they surrender or he beats them into unconciousness. He hasnt killed anyone but it could happen Like Aquaman he isnt shy about doing what needs to be done, though hes unlikely to do so out of malice or vigilantism. He and hawkgirl are fairly similar in this regard less talking more hitting. this doesnt mean hes stupid or adverse to diplomacy--son of a diplomat--he simply prefers action to words. Still hes read Art of War and The book of five rings and uses tactics where ever possible.

Responsibility: Atlantis, Oceanic Industries, Maritime Ecology and Laws: Mako takes his responsibilites to protect Atlantis and the oceans very seriously . he has already sunk a couple of whaling vessels who violated International anti-whaling treaties, and at least one Fishing Cannery ship had to be towed into port after he tore its rudders off for catching dolphins indiscriminately and left it to drift. The League to this point has not been able to stop these actions but has been able to moderate them... so far.

Temper: Mako has a bit of a temper but it manifests as a cold rage. The euphamism revenge is a dish best served cold, and its very cold at the bottom of the seas was made for him.

Honor and Nobility": As a member of the Atlantean Royal Family Mako has a responsibility to act in an honorable and noble fashion. he treats people with respect and dignity. conversly insulting him, his mother , or Atlantis is a bad idea.

Jerk with a heart of gold: caught between to worlds Mako tends to sometimes rub people the wrong way, he cna be a bit arrogant and come off as bit of a jerk, But its all an act to keep himself protected from people.

Family: Mako cares very deeply for his mother Rosalynn, and his baby sister. Any one who hurts them will have a relentless predator on their heels forever.

Dehydration: Mako like most Atlanteans must periodically refresh himself in a body of water or risk deydration, too much deydration could prove fatal.

Responsibility/Relationship: Oranna of House Kamuu aka Aquawoman a distant cousin Aric has feelings for a cousin who heled temper his outrignht hatred for humanity to something more workable. She helped him overcome quiote a few things and he feels indebted to her. She is also the only person beside the King who knows the truth of his secret about the Naguar. He may very well be falling in love with her.

Secret: Mako has gone uncover among the Naguar to expose them and their backers among the nobility. This places him under incredible danger as very few people know the truth.

Recent History:
You have to understand one thing. With the... over-abundance of paranormals in Campaign City, somethings that are really wierd don't even make people blink down here. So, when people starting reporting a cat-person roaming the the neighborhood, the cops were a little slow to respond. Afterall, nobody was getting hurt, nobody's pets were missing, what was the problem?

Them the pizza delivery cars started getting raided. That got the cops attention. No, they weren't getting robbed. At least not of money. The M.O. was the exact same. A cat-like humanoid would tackle the delivery person, take the pizza, and run off.

Obviously, something had to be done. After an intense, 2 hour research of the perpetrator's operating habits. A sting was set up. The assailant went for the bait: 5 extra-large meat lovers with extra pepperoni. After the dire criminal went for the bait, the valiant officers of Campaign City's Police Department tackled the crimianl.

They got Catsi. Mainly, they got Catsi because Catsi thoguth they wanted to wrestle and Catsi wanted to play. Catsi is playful. Catsi speaks in the third person. Although Catsi has a perfect memory, Catsi could not remember anything before two weeks prior.

The cops let Catsi have the pizza (Catsi likes pizza.), and turned and transferred the newly found metahuman over to Dr. Silverback for observation and integration into society.

Secret History:
On Catsi's arm is a small tatoo, the number 563. It's a serial number. Catsi is part of an experiment to create superhumans. now, there's nothing new about that. But, there is something new about the means. It seems that Dr. Power (Sugarrush's dad) got ahold of Bio-Warp's corpse (see The Stray's write-up). and somehow he's found a way to "jumpstart" it. Catsi is one of the successes.

Don't ask about the failures. Dear god do not ask me about the failures.

Tactics:
Catsi is almost purely a melee machine. HTH is the place to be. God help you, becaue the claws are a cuisinart. Catsi is fast, light, and full on finesse. Just don't expect much on the target range. Between the Super-Senses, the Uncanny Dodges, and the high Initiative, the chance that Catsi will lose that primo Defensive Roll is low. But, if it does drop, Catsi is going to take one in the ribs, because that is Catsi's only defense.

I really like the character! Feels like Namor, without the...er...wings on his heels.

Or silly green tights.

I will say I'm not sure why he has Tremorsense for a Shark-Senses deal, or why he'd get dehydrated every other adventure, or how Corrosion would work with water [more a technical curiosity than anything wrong with the build, though].

What's his AT on CoX? He looks like a Something/Regeneration Scrapper to me.

Or is that just a screenshot of a costume that was appropriate? xD

Thanks kerian thats exactly as he should be.

the answrs to your questions are in order.

1) tremor sence is to represent that a shark can feel the vibrations form a thrashing fish even miles away. their entire body is like an incredibly sensitive Antenna for vibrations.

2) the dehydration flaws time frame was put that way due to his water control. while its very severe for him he can use water control to hydrate himself. so he's very rarely without water.

3) as to the corrosion look up "water jet cutting" or "water cutting metal" on google. they have a technology where by water at over 60,000 psi sometimes mixed with a granulate (garnet, sand etc). Is used to cut metal including titanium. thats the scientific angle so rotate water at high velocity focused into a small sphere mixed with diamond hard microscopic ice chips = corrosion for a nasty alternate attack.

were he to be on COX hed be a super strength/invuln tank actually. but in this case your second guess is right its an appropriate screenshot of what his costume should look like.

:arrow: A character I designed for someone in an earlier thread by request. I've never heard whether the chartacter flew or not. So here he is just for the fun of it.

This is Overcome thrill seeking mechanical genius from another dimension. He's part interdimensional explorer, part extreme sports star. He looks like a lot of fun to play especially for a cunning player with a knack for gadgets and the inventor feat.

:arrow: Overcome has several abilites that can help him in a new situation. He's been gentically altered to adapt to new environments, and has the ability to absorb dangerous energies, and physical impacts which he can use to heal himself or to boost his physical attirbutes.

theirs no theoretical limit to the amount of energy (and theirfore boost ) he can absorb so as he grows (ie gains exp) he could become very powerful.

He also has sevral gadgets that aid him here on earth. His hoverboard (comeone you know you got a guilty pleasure from watching Harry sky surf in spiderman 3 :P ) and his survival suit.

The suit can blend like the predator, and even nastier can displace his image. Giving him a nasty suprise attack. Also it has sensors, gps, etc and a dimensional pocket (pouches and belts) for carrying stuff.

The board can fly at about a hundred or so mph and is pretty darned manuevrable. Combined with his pilot skill, dexterity, and ultimate pilot feat. He can out manuever most natural fliers easilly and should avoid most disasters with his rank of luck.

:arrow: Last but not least is his shuttle. This is the dimensional craft he came in to our dimension to explore with. their was an accident in transit, And his family was killed in the crash.

He survied and now uses the being repaired ship as a a base of operations. it has all the amenities for survival any ship could need and a library of information on earth (great for a hero point on inspiration) and is gathering more.

Also it has a workshop for judicious uses of the inventor and jury rig feats to give him a little more offensive punch (blaster, gauntlet with striking abilities grenades etc)

Powerhouse had just finished robbing the first national bank no less then 10 minutes ago. He'd escaped with over $100,000 dollars and a lot of property damage. Including, 2 wrecked police cars, and a bank that looked like it would be under rennovation for 6 months at least.

Leaping away for miles at a leap. He had outraced a police helecopter and taken refuge in a large park near a Lake just outside the city. As he counted the money smugly confident in his escape he stiffened and then looked up in shock at the lone figure standing no more then 10 ft from him.

What sent a shudder down his spine, wasnt that the stranger had snuck up on him like a ghost. But the man's eyes. They were black, cold and merciless.

Almost like a sharks.

"I have tracked you here to bring you to justice for the police you injured." Spoke the man. in an authoritarian voice. " Will you surrender? Or will I be forced to hurt you?" He asked seeming to indicate he'd prefer the latter.

Gathering up his courage Powerhouse stood and became a litte more confident. he was taller and broader then the smaller man and knew he was stronger. silently he chided himself for his initial reaction letting himself be spooked by this toothpick.

"I'm not going anywhere with you pipsqueak!!" he snarled in is most intimidating sneer. " But if its a whuppin your a wantin Ill gladly oblige."

"I am Mako, Prince of Atlantis, and You may Have it your way. "came the quiet firm voice of Mako and with no further words needed. Battle was joined.

knockback only 25ft due to low damage.
Mako attacked suddenly with blinding speed. letting loose with a bonecrushing right cross that sent Powerhouse flying backwards and into the small hillside.

Shaking his head clear Powerhouse laughed HAH!! "is that all you got squirt? Then this'll be over quick!!" Rushinng forward he slammed his shoulder into the smaller man only to discover to his suprise that Mako was a lot sturdier then he looked and was barely budged. Inwardly doubt creeped into the big bruisers mind.

That shot had hurt This is gonna be alot tougher then I thought.
Mako auto regens bruised condition, uses water control AP (corrosion ). All out/ power attack/ aggressive (10/13 bonus) mako concentration check 9+9 (18 made) roll 9 (19 HIT!! ) fortitude save dc (23 ) powerhouse rolls 8 +15 (23 made on the nose) toughness dc 28 Powerhouse rolls 5!! +11 (16 fail by 7 bruised x2 and stunned) knock prone and back 5 ft

Powerhouse well stay stunned this round
Extending his hand a swirl of white capped water appearerd in Mako's palm coalescing into a whirling ball filled with whitecaps. The ball of water made an erie whirring sound.

"Whats that fishbait? HAH! Im Invincible!! you cant hurt Meeeee...ARRRGGGGGGHHH!!!!!" Powerhouse howled in agony as Mako thrust the blu white sphere into his gut.

He could feel flesh burning as the ball of water acted like a super beltsander and bit into his chest. suddenly he was lifted off the ground and rotated through the air falling prone a few feet away on his face.

As he lay their, a searing pain shot through him forcing him to stagger to his knees and clutch his chest.
Mako move action to demopralize -5 to roll 14 +4 +2(intinidating act) =(18 ) Powerhouse sence motive check 5!! +5 (10 FAIL!!)

Powerhouse demoralized well attempt to flee full round leaps away (44,000 ft in air full round)
"That was the Rasengan. loosley translated The Fist of Poseidon." Makos voice came in over the haze of pain. "The next time it well go through you." their was no mercy in that voice.

screw the money theirs allways more whenre it came from. thought Powerhouse

Turning he ran, and then made a bounding leap carrying him miles away in a single bound. "HAH!! catch me now fishbreath!! He shouted back to the receding figure in the distance.

Mako pursues. tracking diffculty (15) survival skill roll 12 + 8 (20 succeed)

Powerhouse half moves 1000 ft leap then tries to hide in dive bar Stealth roll 10 untrained
Looking after the retreating figure Mako sneered unpleasantly. Then kneeling down he started to sniff the air and the ground. Hitting on Powerhouse's scent he started moving at a steady gait, tracking his enemy.

His sences were like a steady beacon. Drawing him closer and closer to his quarry. A sence of smell that could detect a drop of blood in the water over a mile a way followed the particular scent of his prey.

Sifiting his particular smell from the myriad scents that surrounded him. Until finally he came to an alleyway, and a door that lead into a ratty hole in the wall bar. Walking to the door Mako made ready to enter it.

Powerhouse Leapt skywards one more time then landed where he'd been heading for. The Crusty Crab." you'd never find a more wretched hive of scum and villiany.

He loved it here. his kinda joint. Entering he grabbed a coat off the rack and waved to the bartender Bob. Grabbing a brewski from a suprised patron that quickly backed down at his sneer. Powerhosue tried to sit back and ease the pain of his burned chest. On his massive chest a spiral pattern burn was slowly turning a bright cherry red.
Mako attacks stealth roll 10 untrained, powerhouse notice check 3 +5 (8 fail!!)

Powerhouse fiats to act <mako gets a hero point> move action to rise lift and throw car fiat again <mako 3x hero points> agressive/ all out/ power attack (10/ 17 +2 (car) roll nat 20 (confirmed ) DC 39 mako rolls 16+12 (28 fail by 11 staggered and stunned) knockback 500 ft bar collapses. no damage.

"Bastige Ill break him in 2 next time I see him." He grumbled into his cup. unaware of the shadow coming up behind him. Untill a rush of feet and a gasp made him turn right around and into a jaw cracking punch that caused several patrons to wince and knocked him clean through the shabby wall.

Sliding to a halt he shook his head in utter disbelief, feeling several loosened teeth. "How the hell did you find me?" he asked incredulously.

As he stood up he spotted a good sized sedan. Lifting it as if it were a baseball He threw it with ill intent. The sedan crashed into the emerging Mako slamming him into the bars support strut and bringing the whole building down upon him.
Mako stays stunned uses hero point to attempt to regen staggered condition faster. (roll 6+4 (10 success regen) stays stunned)
Powerhouse no action
The building gave way with a roar of breaking timber before collapsing in a cloud of dust. Powerhouse laughed uproariously at the carnage he'd caused.

"Hah!! fishbait after all. I tol..." His gloating was interrupted by a crashing sound as wreckage was flung aside and mako stood before him ready to fight. Mako Charged out of the dust and debris a swirling blue ball in his hand the ball making a whirring sound like some demonic beltsander.

The Rasengan slammed into Powerhouse's chest and this time Mako grunted with the effort and concentration required. the blue water bit into his opponent and with the acrid smell of burning flesh suddenly burst with an audible crack before the rotation forces caught powerhouse up and slammed him headlong into the ground some 50 ft away landing in an unconscious heap.
Mako move action to push through rubble. easy with superstrength total of 65. Demoralizes as move action (-5 12+4 (11) sence motice roll 2 +5 =7 (fail)

surge with hero point. Corrosion concentration check 10+9 (19 successful) all out/ power attack agressive (10/ 13 bonus) roll 14 +10 (24 HIT!!) fort save 23 (roll natural 1 FAIL!! toughness reduced -13 to -5 minimum. toughness save dc 28 roll 17 total 12 fail by 16 Out)
Mako strode up to him and toed the body with a boot to the ribs. But only a low groan escaped from the defeated Powerhouse. Stepping to a payphone. Mako called the police then with a gesture encased the large man in a block of ice that would hold him long enough for the aegis teams to collect him.

Satisfied at the job he'd done. Mako sprang over the remains of the crashed bar with a leap like a dolphin into the sea.

And the WINNAH!! the Atlantean powerhouse Mako!! =^_^=

This was the most entertaining Imho of the 8 test fights mew ran between mako and the Powerhouse AT from instant heroes.

mako won everyone of them. most ending pretty quickly except this one which had some fun story moments and enabled Mako to do what he does best.

=^_^= Mew all. This is Mockingbird II. A legacy character based on my 2 personal favorite characters in marvel. Hawkeye and Mockingbird. never have forgiven marvel for their treatment of Hawk and Mock. so this my tribute to marvels first couple.

:arrow: Mockingbird is a classic street fighter, and investigator. She's got all the skills, and feats needed to hunt down a crook. Shes also got the fighting chops to hang with the big boys if she's careful, and smart about using stealth.

:arrow: Future points she gets. Should be spent on improved critical (bow), making a device (bow) for trick arrows etc, and improving her saves and combat skills.

She does have inventor and craft mechanical so she should be able to create a few special arrows here and their for special cases.

I liked the fight, Mew. Don't fret about the lack of comments, apparently the tank was down again for a while, so I think we were all shut out for a while.

I especially liked the props to the crab and the "wretched hive of scum and villainy" :)

:arrow: Atomic here is a nasty piece of work for a pl 8. He's got a permanent aura of radioactive plasma coming from him that can burn you badly (penetrating), and even give you radiation sickness (drain con with disease)

So to keep from killing his friends he either concentrates real hard to control it. Or he wears a special containment suit.

With the suit on he is safe to be around and free to better focus his concentration on his formidible cosmic array.

:arrow: And what an array it is. Blasts of plasma, radiation, melting things through intense heat, nauseate, and more.

He can stunt off his array an area drain to con (raidation sickness), super strength, and even flight (plasma jet out of feet) if needed. though most often he'll need to be carried by a teamate.

:arrow: Side note. I tossed on a piano playing skill because I wanted him to showcase that their was a human being underneath what amounted to a walking star.

He is a tragic figure and should be portrayed that way. his will save is very high to reflect that he is able to keep perspective even though he's cut off from the world.

without it he'd probably become a villian lashing out at a world that fears and hates him and that he can never touch.

:arrow: Edit Using the controversial "Holding Back drawback" I added 4 pp to him.

This gave him slow flight, an AP of enhanced super strength on his cosmic array, and a buff to his skills.
