Prodigy Duck's Beastiary and More (Allabar)

Postby prodigyduck » Wed Jun 27, 2007 12:41 pm

I have been working on a MnM Fantasy Setting for the past several months. As such, I have converted a lot of monsters from the 3rd Edition to MnM.

As I am so computer illiterate that I don't know how to format lists to click directly to a specific monster, I apologize to those who look through the list using the long method.

I will update as often as I am able.

Enjoy.

Regarding the Banshee:

I had initially created the banshee with her Keening power a little differently. Before this, I had it with the power Transform Living Creature into Corpse, but I was not sure about that. Sure, I does give the feeling of "save or die," but I have never been out to kill my players.

Also, after reading the Ultimate Powers book, and seeing the Death Touch power written as a Con Drain, I altered the Banshee's Keening.

:!: I realize there a a couple of things that can be done to alter a centaur. For example, one could give their centaur Additional Limbs to make them more resistant vs. Trips and Knockback.
:!: One thing I think that needs to be altered about the basic Horse description in the MnM Rulebook is the fact that Horses do not have any Speed! This is a terrible omission. Thus, I give all my horses (and, thus, centaurs, at least 1 or 2 ranks of Speed)

:!: As liches go, this is supposed to be very basic (a newly created one, if you will). While incredibly powerful, and resistant to damage, a lich is surprisingly low in PL.
:!: For ease of reference, I usually equate ranks of Magic equal to the level of the mage. As a spellcaster must be at least 11th level before they can become a lich, I simply made the decision of giving the basic lich, here, Magic 11. I use Telekinesis as a base power for most magic write-ups, as it is very easy to define and it is a common trope of magic (just think of the magic duel between Gandalf and Sarumon). Finally, I usually give a spellcaster a number of Alternate Powers equal to their Magic Ranks for various "spells."

:!: These guys are MY vampires. Based on other vampires I've seen here and there, I have taken what I like about some and left the rest. Mostly, these guys will resemble Vamps from the Buffy Television show more than anything else.
For those who want to see vampires as from the 3rd Edition rules, I will get to them eventually.
:!: These vampires are the basic vampires, newly created, and perfect for low-level supernatural minions (the lich, described above, has two of these guys as Minions). In my campaigns, vampires gain more powers as they grow older: shapeshifting, mist forms, mind control, animal control, weather control, etc.
:!: Yes, Taliesin, the Resurrection power linked to the Drain is based on your idea. I loved it, and wanted to use it.

:!: Again, I slightly deviated from the 3rd Edition description, giving Gorgons the ability to come back from the dead if their heads have not been severed. I rather liked this part of the Gorgon's mythology. You may also notice, that I call these creatures Gorgons, and not the steel-armored bulls. What can I say, I'm a traditionalist.
:!: I would have used a different picture that the one above, but none of the other links i tried showed up properly.

:!: For those who want a "Greater Gorgon," it is a simple enough thing:
Add 4 levels of Growth and Super-Movement (slithering). Ta da!
