I played in a 3.5 conversion of Return to the Tomb of Horrors.... it was made more unpleasent by my curious nature.

Hmmmm...I'll have to check that out. I've never played it. I promise I will scale it down for my players, though. Except for my Gilwen, who I will kill right off the bat... :wink:

I hate TPK adventures. And my early memories of playing 1st edition D&D back when MTV was new seemed to be all about that. It's a wonder I kept RPG-ing.

If you want GOOD 1st Edition adventures, I recommend the Slavers, Giants, and Drow series (plus Queen of the Demonweb Pits). They were, perhaps the best of the lot. The Village of Hommlet was also good (with the following Temple of Elemental Evil being... okay).

Also, the Basic Edition adventure: Keep on the Borderlands.

Were I to run D&D again, these would be the adventures I would use (if I used pre-made adventures; I usually run my own scenarios).

As for monster conversions. I don't have too many left to go (short of any requests folks may have). I still have plenty of spells to convert, though.

I've been considering looking through my old Arduin books for some other beasties... There are some really interesting (and not a few really stupid) monsters in there.

Oh yeah, i know Arduin. I miss it too :'( . There have been several attempts to ressurect it in the past. The only world were you can play a halfling slaver. lol :lol:

Actually, there is a company that is currently writing Arduin books. One of their books, which describes the world of Arduin, is over 800 pages long (that's bigger than many dictionaries).

I have not personally seen any of their products, being as poor as I am. But you can read about them here. I'm sticking with M&M, though...

I know... i so want that book too... World Guide of Khaas. I have oggled that book for about a year now. And i know they are working on a third edition of the rules i think. But its like $70 is a bit pricey, but if anyone ahd that book. They could run a Fantasy game using the MnM rules easy.

Their equine body is most often coal black to dark, gun metal gray, and their hooves are always blood red. Their eyes are an overall luminous, glowing green with no discernable pupils and their serpentine hair is a mass of writhing emerald-green snakes.

:!: These horrid creatures are man-eaters, thoroughly evil, and capable of any vileness imaginable. They are a rare breed and are normally only encountered in the frozen wastes of the north, as cold can never affect them.
Male chaeronyx are able to channel a negative energy through their bodies. This energy is sent through his spear or sword, causing it to become wreathed in translucent black flames.
Chaeronyx will only be found in mated pairs. They only give birth to one single offspring per mating.
