Yes, Joshua certainly has an eye for fine. . .signatures.

One might almost say it's a more distinctive signature of the man than the actual images. 8)

Original character, my ass! I’m just an Asian nerd turned superhero!

Amadeus Cho

Power Level: 7 (90pp)

Abilities: STR: 10 (+0), DEX: 14 (+2), CON: 10 (+0), INT: 10 [26] (+8), WIS: 14 (+2), CHA: 14 (+2)

Skills: Computers 12 (+20), Craft [Chemical] 8 (+16), Craft [Electronic] 12 (+20), Craft [Mechanical] 12 (+20), Disable Device 12 (+20), Knowledge [Current Events] 8 (+16), Knowledge [Physical Sciences] 8 (+16), Knowledge [Technology] 12 (+20), Survival 4 (+6)

Feats: Beginner’s Luck, Eidetic Memory, Equipment, Inventor, Master Plan, Second Chance 3 (Craft [Chemical, Electronic, Mechanical]), Skill Mastery (Craft [Chemical, Electronic, Mechanical], Disable Device), Speed of Thought

Powers:
Enhanced Intelligence 16 (Power Feat: Innate; 17pp)
Gadgets 1 [Hard to Lose] (7pp)
Quickness 6 (x100; Flaw: One Type [mental tasks; -1]; 3pp)
Super-Senses 1 (Normal Sight [Analytical]; 1pp)

Equipment: Leather Jacket (1ep)

Vehicle “Moped” (3ep)
Strength: 10, Speed: 3, Defense: 10, Toughness: 5, Size: Medium

Combat: Attack +2; Damage +0; Defense +2 (+1 flat-footed); Initiative +8

Saves: Toughness +1, Fortitude +2, Reflex +6, Will +6

Abilities 12 + Skills 22 (88 ranks) + Feats 10 + Powers 28 + Combat 8 + Saves 10 – Drawbacks 0 = Total 90

Complications: Reputation (fugitive), Responsibility (coyote pup, “plucky animal sidekick”)

 Amadeus Cho is a relatively new character, and even with his over-exposure, hasn’t exactly had his limits explored. I decided to make his Intelligence an Enhanced ability, albeit Innate, and let power stunts describe most of the wacky effects he can generate by virtue of sheer calculative power. Since this is usually draining and forces him to have to consume large quantities of food afterwards, relegating this to Extra Effort seems appropriate. Cho’s Gadgets represent various minor hotwired devices he has at hand, such as the phone/radio he uses to control nearby electrical signals. Devices with more than 5pp of traits need to be built using Inventor, as usual. Cho’s normal sight is functionally Analytical, and he has been shown to and has mentioned that he sees the world in numbers.

Any chance we can see Warlock, of the New Mutants? You've done Cypher, do the other half of the equation!

Riddle me this: Why am I standing in front of a target?

The Riddler

Complications: Obsession (leaving riddles at crime scene)

 The Riddler is an obvious lightweight physically, and if he were to enter combat, then it probably means things are going badly for his schemes. He has shown himself to be a manipulator of the highest order, pulling strings from far behind the scenes.

 Query and Echo are the henchwomen most often associated with the Riddler in recent years. They are both accomplished thieves and expert martial artists whose skills complement one another very well.

Query and Echo (Minion Rank 7)

Funny. I thought I already statted him out, but then I opened up his file and see another aborted build. *sigh*

Hey Taliesin, you seem to be one of the best of the best around here when it comes to statting. What do you think is the most beneficial way to start off? Should I stick to using Simpson's excel sheet, use the mutagen program, or just basic notepad?

I've actually never used the Simpson excel sheet or the mutagen program. Personally, since I'm planning to post most of these, I just use notepad (or any word processing program) and do all the math and calculations myself. IMO, it helps to actually see all the parts coming together rather than have it done for you, but YMMV.

I think he IS the best of the best, personally. Don't let that go to your head, Tally. :D

I will defer to his response, but I know when I started the Simpson sheet was a major help. I still use it most of the time, but I now find myself using a Word template or Notepad more often now that I am much more familiar with the system.

Like I said, I never used it, though I do have it. But I suppose I should have added that many people find it immensely useful.

I'm like Taliesin. I often use Word and do the math in my head. By the way, great work on the Riddler. Out of all of the enemies in Batman's rogue gallery, the Riddler was the coolest (in my opinion) as his schemes made everyone guessing to what his plan was. I used to try to figure out what his riddles were before Batman figured it out.

Thanks so much for the replies. I really want to get a knack for character creation as opposed to having it done for me like you said.

Swift

Power Level: 10 (200pp)

Abilities: STR: 20 (+5), DEX: 24 (+7), CON: 20 (+5), INT: 18 (+4), WIS: 24 (+7), CHA: 18 (+4)

Skills: Acrobatics 12 (+19), Climb 4 (+9), Computers 6 (+10), Knowledge [Current Events] 8 (+12), Knowledge [Tactics] 8 (+12), Knowledge [Theology and Philosophy] 4 (+8), Languages 2 (English, Mandarin; base: Tibetan), Notice 8 (+15), Pilot 12 (+19), Stealth 8 (+15)

Feats: Acrobatic Bluff, Ambidexterity, Attractive, Defensive Attack, Environmental Adaptation (High Altitude), Elusive Target, Equipment, Evasion, Fast Overrun, Favored Environment [Airborne] 4, Improved Initiative, Move-By Action, Precise Shot, Takedown Attack, Uncanny Dodge (Visual)

Powers:
Alternate Form 7 “Winged Huntress” (35pp)
Super-Senses 4 (Direction Sense, Normal Hearing [Extended], Normal Sight [Extended], Track Flight; 4pp)
Super-Senses 4 (Precognition; Flaw: Limited [Weather only, -1]; 2pp)

Winged Huntress (35pp total)
Enhanced Feats 2 (Improved Grab, Improved Grapple; 2pp)
Flight 6 (500 MPH; Drawback: Power Loss [If wings immobilized; Uncommon, Minor]; 11pp)
Sonic Control 6 (Extra: Area [Trail; +0]; Flaw: Range [Touch; -1]; 6pp)
Linked Power: Strike 6 (Extra: Area [Trail; +1]; 12pp)
Strike 2 (Power Feats: Improved Critical, Mighty; 4pp)

Equipment: Flash goggles (1ep)

Combat: Attack +11 // +2 (Airborne); Damage +6 (Strike, Trail) / +7 (Strike, 19-20 Crit); Defense +13 (+7 flat-footed) // +2 (Airborne); Initiative +11

Saves: Toughness +5, Fortitude +8, Reflex +12, Will +10

Abilities 64 + Skills 18 (72 ranks) + Feats 18 + Powers 41 + Combat 48 + Saves 11 – Drawbacks 0 = Total 200

Complications: Fame (member of Authority), Honor (idealistic and Buddhist)

 Swift usually fights with Defensive Attack in order to compensate for her relative low Toughness save (in comparison to her teammates). When airborne, she can divide a +4 bonus between her attack and defense. Swift is pretty expensive owing to her several peak human ability scores, which were reached in part due to being a fully activated seedling. There were some prophecies associated with Swift’s birth, as she is seen as the harbinger of a golden age by the Tibetan monks, but this has been all but forgotten in recent stories.

 Of note, Swift can actually transform in and out of her winged form, but in the Authority, she nearly always remains winged. Swift has a power normally associated with Blasters; she can create a sonic boom by doing a fly-by, leaving a Dazzle plus Damage Trail in her wake. This should almost be a given for more supersonic flyers, but I suppose Swift is just better at using it as an attack. Swift has very sharp eyes and ears. She has an innate direction sense and can predict air currents (Track Flight) and weather patterns (Precognition).

:!: Update 12/31/07 :!: The weakest member of the Authority in terms of sheer power, but Swift does fill a couple of niches on the team. She’s still buit with a similar number of pp as the rest of the group, which is the way I think is best for handling teams; the campaign PL is the same for everyone and the pp allotted should be in the same range, but the various characters may not be capped out to the same degree.

The low end of the Authority in terms of power, equivalent to someone like Hawkeye on the Avengers or Green Arrow on the JLA. Swift has feathers, too; she just doesn't use them for fletching.

I'm still thinking about how to handle the various armaments. Some of them like Vile have used several dozen weapons. I think I'm going to end up statting up only the weapons of choice and treating the other weapons either as power stunts or use a variable structure.
