Sunbear wrote:Just amazing stuff. I LOVE your settings. I LOVE your builds. Did you enter the wizards setting search a few years ago by chance? You need your own source books. No scratch that. WE need your source books. Seriously top notch creativity.

My one complaint. There is no centralized post or posts collecting setting information. With a bunch of the characters I'm not sure which setting they belong to at first. And in what way do the characters/settings connect? Could we please get a gazetteer (just a few short paragraphs even) or a time line for the settings and maybe an identifier on the builds for which setting they belong in? Otherwise just absolutely fantastic man.

Do you do any creative professional work (writing? RPGs? etc)

Alright, the previous post I was going to use got wrecked, so I'm breaking this into two. First of all; I'm thrilled to get such a great response from anyone anywhere, thank you for that. About your complaint/suggestion (I love it when complaints are constructive). I like all three of those ideas and I will do each of them for most of my settings I think. The in-build Identifier will most likely be a simple abbreviation of the settings name by the character's name. The other two will take some major time so first of all I'm going to list all the settings I've got that are at all significant.

And yes, I am on the road to becoming a professional novelist (I've written a few and a lot of these settings contain novel ideas of mine). I write for fun and profit and have considered RPG writing as a side thing at some point. Thanks for posting. I love having fans (Not to belittle JD or Libra with this; you guys are great too).

Settings List

Alien Gods/Warlords of the Multiverse/Optional History X – My first M&M setting; Aliens invade the earth from space as well as other dimensions. Earth fights back with its own freaks and supers.
Black Ocean Sunset – A fantasy space-opera setting in which immortal Chinese heroes and the interstellar empire they represent square off with Norse Myth monsters (Though these are reptilians only loosely based on mythology).
Chase – A superhero setting in which heroes and villains get power from star colonies in their bodies.
Pillarverse – A military space opera set in an entirely different kind of universe without planets or stars. This setting is a conversion of an old D20 modern setting of mine with a new emphasis on living legends and stories.
Fantasy A/Babylon/Immortal Wells – A fantasy setting that started out somewhat generically. The world has pirate-age tech for the most part but ships from beyond the sky, from a place called Babylon have borne more advanced technology here in the past. I will probably build Babylon as a subsetting eventually. Meanwhile, wells that reach the core of the earth allow demons access to the world.
Becoming Alien/Doppelganger Wars – A military near-future situation in which the forces of the world must confront shapeshifting creatures from the sea.
Liquid Sky – A fantasy setting with modern technology and advanced magic, all based under the sky of water. The primary source of adventures thus far is the criminal network.
Ghostman – A superhero setting that crosses batman, iron man and the ghostbusters.
Modern Prophets – As the civilized world struggles to survive a new era of supernatural dominance begins.
Cosmic Legends – Not a real setting. This heading contains high-powered versions of historical characters.
Arsenal World – A world in which machines produced the first humans and technology is so thoroughly interwoven with humankind that great forges form the basis for cities.

Glad you like it :D. The picture (fanart) is the only really accurate depiction of Vlad based off his description in the books. Even the covers are wrong :? .

And the books are excellent. Not high fantasy in a LotR sense, but very fun to read. The writer- Steven Brust, is hilarious.
Great write-up

Thing is, the Uiverse feels like it's high fantasy, it's just that the character doesn't do high fantasy adventures, know what I mean?

Y'mean, other than Issola? (It was almost perfect, but at the end Vlad really should have given Verra a bit of snark about how she'll be seeing him again, regardless of how she feels about that right now, to match the way she sent him off in Phoenix.)
