:arrow: Lifter appears at the same time as Revenge, and as a result is exposed to the benign virus contracted by her teammate that makes her immune to the Morituri Effect. This is represented by the fact that she purchased immunity to the effect and has bought off the drawbacks.

:arrow: In terms of the Enhanced Luck in the Morituri Effect, it can easily be switched over to regular feats. I left it in the Effect Container for consistency. I’ll also likely do that for Scanner, Burn and then Tiger, Ghost and Wind if I stat them.

:arrow: There is some description of the surviving Morituri as something like "Omega Class" mutants in the final story arc "Electric Undertow" when Random describes what each of them could do to a ship a quarter the size of the moon. Hence the presence of the effect in her build.

:arrow: Other than that, Lifter is a pretty straight-forward telekinetic who would be far more powerful in her point set if she didn;t have the phase one powers.

:arrow: I didn't really go as extensive on the skills and feats as other characters as Lifter didn't give us any real indication of her capabilities - other than dropping things on people, throwing heavy objects... Still, she was easy going and pretty enough, so I gave her a rank of attractive with some skill in public relations.

:arrow: Lifter was also a sign that the book was drawing to a close as she had very little in the way of fleshed-out background, striking me more as an attempt to introduce a Jean Grey type to the story - hey look, she even has red hair!

:arrow: Burn's Morituri Effect is, in fact, tiring even though I didn't give it that drawback of flaw. IMO, we see her use it in Electric Undertow when she takes out the Clone Morituri, She fries each and every one of them, leaving her friends untouched... she then loses consciousness for almost 24 hours. Then again, that could have been extra effort on top of using the Effect.

:arrow: although he wasn't required to pay for the group's ship. John still owns it. Anything that he eventually spens in PP and EP will be to better the ship and at that point it will be able to do what he wants it to be able to do...

:arrow: Yes, this is an excuse to do a Superman build without holding to cannon or previous/ other builds on the boards.

:arrow: I start with the Elseworlds Comic as depicted by the picture for this post. I think that the concept would be better served by the Ultimate Superman costume from ths Wizards magazine article... it’s fairly obvious that I’m not a fan of the Superman costume they use at the end of the comic.

:arrow: Speeding Bullets is the basis of this character, and it serves for those looking for a build for that comic. However, he’s also the Superman of my campaign world. Lois Lane is not a factor in this character's history - hers is more Kathy Kane's role in Bruce's life.

:arrow: The main differences between this build and that comic’s version is that Luthor does not become the Joker. I have plans for Luthor. Plans that are very similar to the premise behind the Nail... It’s also several years that the Man of Steel functions as the Dark Knight in my world before shedding that particular shell.

:arrow: His attractive feat can also be described as Trustworthiness or Influence. As Bruce Wayne his money lets him get away with far more than he would normally be able to. Likewise his Acting and Oratory skills work into the persona of billionaire playboy.

:arrow: The Equipment represents Wayne Manor and the Batcave – which, in this reality becomes Wayne Manor with the Fortress of Solitude beneath.

:arrow: And, no, Bruce doesn’t wear glasses. ;)

:arrow: In terms of the build, I would like to mention that I permist the progression feat for extended senses in a variable array (instead of the power being ranked and thus limited). This is to permit the character to have the latitude to have multiple senses available while restricting things like True Sight... It's a house rule that works for the character. I'd also allow it in other characters as it's not unbalancing.

:arrow: This build is linked twice in my index. Once for Elseworlds, and once for my Campaign World.

:arrow: Modified it to PL 12...

:idea: Update October 27 2008 - Back down to PL 10, a few more points, and rounded off the character with my current take on the effects of Red Stellar Energy,

I'd heard about this comic but not read it. I'll have to rectify that.

One thing on the build. You list it as a PL10 build, but he has +15 unarmed and +9 attack. Should it be a PL12 build or did I miss something?

The comic has great potential, but misses a little in the delivery. I think it would have served better wih more room to expand.

As to the PL, d' oh ! That's a mistake I've been known to make... forgetting the cap on damage.

Or, rather, why yes, good catch, PL 12 is what I should have typed...

:arrow: Harbinger from the original Crisis on Infinite Earths, at her most powerful. Post Crisis she needs to be tweaked.

:arrow: The whole immunity thing is an experiment that I don't know if I' d let a player get away with.

:arrow: She can duplicate to be the population of a small town... but we never actually see her appear in the same location. It's mostly a plot point to allow her to travel the various universes...

:arrow: In a combined campaign setting, I could easily see Harbinger as a New God/ Eternal/ Inhuman... or worse, a Herald of Galactus.

:arrow: I misplaced the stats on the Orb of History as I'd written it. As soon as I find them, I'll post them!

:arrow: One of my favourite villain archetypes from first edition, I’ve searched and searched and haven’t found a 2nd Ed version. Ergo this build (and the next two posts…)

:arrow: He’s really nasty at PL 15 and should challenge just about any group of PCs, let alone individuals.

:arrow: with minor tweaking and an alternate sidekick, Damocles also makes a really good representation of DC’s Psi-Phon and Dreadnaught…

:arrow: there’s an error in both this build and the PL 10 version – I charged for the improved grapple feat when it should be free… There are also 6 points of unspent EP on this build, and 1 point unspent on the PL 10 version.

:arrow: The stats above are useful for either Ajax 9 and/ or Jessica 7. The entire exercise was merely designed to give the PCs the eventual ability to actually stop the production line of Damocles class robots.

:arrow: One of the above is sufficient to power up a PL 10 Damocles. 2 are required to power a PL 15 version. (I guess it’s possible that I was looking for an excuse to use the Empower ability…)

:arrow: They are not meant for combat – that’s what Damocles if for. The implication is that there might be a series of Damocles shells and automatons in their HQ. (The limitations of the point allocations for Empower precludes the possibility of having multiple fully-powered Damocles robots running around…)

:arrow: This was an early build of mine, and I’m sure that I could easily build it more efficiently these days. Somehow, I like it though, If it were meant for more front line encounters, I might go ahead and retool it, but for now it stays as is.

:arrow: Mind you, if you're looking for the means to blindside your PCs with clones of themselves... lose the restricting on the Empower entry, drop the Mimic and enable the creation of robots with the PCs powers... the limitations on the above minions to those powers would not warrant Drawbacks at that point.... looks like I might tweak the build after all.

:arrow: Booster Gold’s assistant, Goldstar. The build here is as represented in my Campaign World and for a series we ran tabletop and one I attempted some time back on rpol.net. Booster Gold runs a reality TV show called America’s Next Super Team. Civil War never happened in my world, or at least it hasn’t happened yet. The players always thought that they were going to be responsible for it… (It was in the vein of American Idol. The judges were BG, Dazzler, Luke Cage and the fourth one eludes me, but I digress...)

:arrow: She doesn’t quite reflect mainstream comics, but as the hostess for my reality show I think she works well and I’m pleased with the suit.

:arrow: Out of the suit, she’s a high priced PL 2, with 81 pp!

I've been out of commission while my hands, back and general fatigue reset to normal...

In the meantime, I've updated the index with a few of the builds I have planned. The last few Morituri are eluding my statting abilities at the moment - mostly because they don't suffer from the Morituri effect. Not the same feel as the others...

I will likely post some background for the Syndicate before I post them. Especially since most of them are at least partly cribbed from somewhere or other on the boards...

:arrow: in my campaign setting, there are two rival groups attempting to mass produce superhumans in a sort of metahuman cold war. The Americans have Weapon X, and the Russians had the Omega Project.

:arrow: The Omega Project has produced a few successful results. The most successful - in that they are the least inhuman - were Red Star and Stalnoivolk. Others include Omega Red and the above, Omega Thirteen. She is more commonly referred to as Cythonna...

Appearance
Stunningly beautiful but with a cold demeanor. Being immune to cold, she wears little clothing, further highlighting her beauty. When focusing on her ability to protect herself from harm, her skin becomes like ice.

Battle Tactics
Equally adept at wading into melee or freezing foes from afar. Her appearance on a battle field is often announced far in advance as temperatures plummet and snow and windstorms come out of nowhere…

I fought Cir-El to a standstill. Draining the bitch's powers, I had her down and freezing to death. When Spiderman showed up to save her, I very nearly killed him too. My target was Cir-El, so I dispatched her and withdrew.

Background
Created, as noted under the team notes, in response to the growing number of American Super Heroes and specifically to counter Weapon X, the Omega Projects boasts several successes.

Omega Thirteen is the last in that line, created just before the fall of the Iron Curtain. She was to be the greatest undertaking of the project and it was anticipated that she would be among the greatest metahumans on Earth.

Essentially, a hybrid of human, Krytponian and metahuman DNA, Omega Thirteen shares qualities with all of these. Although most obviously 'Kryptonian Class' in her powers, her vast control over cold makes her altogeher more dangerous, especially coupled with her ability to counter Kryptonian Class powers.

She is by far more succesful than Luthor's Bizarro Clones (currently used a 'Liberator Androids) ever were, and possesses not only a stable genetic make-up, but a intelligence and a capacity to learn.

Luthor is just as obsessed with Cythonna as he is with Superman and is detrermined to destroy all things Kryptonian - including Omega Thirteen.

Omega Thirteen draws her name - Cythonna - from a Kryptonian Crystal Matrix discovered by agents of the Omega Project. Indeed, much of the knowledge that went into her creation was also taken from the matrix. It's believed to be a shard from Superman's capsule, sheared off during entry iinto Earth's atmosphere. The knowledge has been passed to Cythonna, and fuels her obsession with Superman and his culture.
