Comments: I’d been watching the “Clash” episode of JLU again where Captain Marvel and Superman go at it, ergo, I decided to finish my Cap higher PC build (and tweak my PL10 build as well). I’m considering a Kingdom Come version, but that can wait until for a while.

I think this build could hang with, but probably not beat, my PL14 Superman build. I think my Supes would win because I loaded him with HP, but who knows, the dice are a fickle mistress.

Clean Up 10/29/08: I reworked Captain Marvel up to PL14 from PL13 as I was going through my playable paragons. The PL13 version remains for posperity.

Clean Up 1/16/10: Went back to PL13 and gave up on the "playable PP" (for now).

Clean Up 3/9/10: OK, went BACK to PL14 after re-upgrading Superman and others. One day, ONE DAY, I will be happy with a build...

Comments:[/b] You know I have to admit, I was not much of a fan of the Big Red Cheese up until JLU and his fight with Supes. And then I read Kingdom Come, which said fight was kind of an homage to and I realized I was a bit too hard on the Captain. The new Shazam stuff is pretty good, too, so I felt compelled to work up playable Cheese at PL10 and eventually a more appropriately leveled build in the near future to match up with my Marvel (him as Shazam) build.

I realize that I am getting stale with my PL10 paragons (change name, tweak strength, add a couple of feats, post, repeat) so there’s probably only one or two more coming then I will start focusing on higher PL builds of some of them, like making this Captain Marvel PL13/195, which is where I see him in my Thorpcoearth that has playable heroes at their more appropriate levels.


After working on the PL13 Captain Marvel build, I needed to make some changes to the PL10 version. Much tighter build, too. I gave him, and pretty much all my Marvel family builds Ultimate Reflex Save, mainly to be used when they really need to dodge the lightning bolt to blast someone.

Comments:
I did love the CM3 angle with Cap Jr. here for a while (he called himself that so he didn’t have to say Captain Marvel, which is the word changes him back and forth). Sounds like a rapper, as I noted above.

Anyway, Jr. here is built like my PL10 Captain Marvel, just toned down a bit. He’s built to be a team player and basic paragon, but at a PL where he fits with the Titans. This is a classic CM3 build, of course, since I do not know the whole outcome of his Trials but I would assume that a future build is in order for him as Captain Marvel as we’ve seen in the Titans Tomorrow arcs.

Comments:
A good old fashioned classic Mary Marvel build as we work through the Marvel family here on Family Night. Again, I had to make her less powerful than the original CM so she comes in a PL9 as did CM3. I made her a little harder to hit and not as tough as CM3 just for variety sake.

I will probably work on a PL10 or PL11 version as a PC for her current incarnation and I need to refine her Black Mary version as well. But I am about Marveled out at the moment, so it will have to wait a while.

Nice stuff. Love the Marvels.

Course, they could be a lot weaker, and still hurt Supes...their power is *magical*. A basic vampire puts the hurting on Superman in a Batman/Superman team up I have.

Always loved Plastic Man. I’m still refining my “stretchy guy” mechanic and I am not satisfied with my Mr. Fantastic build or this one, but maybe I’ll get it right with Ralph or Offspring.

Plas’ abilities are all tied into Shapeshift with 30pp to throw around. I thought about a drawback to limit some things, but in tons of comics he’s noted as being very powerful and Lord knows I’ve seen him do some crazy wild stuff over the years so I left it as is. He should be a fun play.
