Proof that Lobdell and his artist monkeys are blind idiots, I present Meredith Eaton-Gilden, alongside goth goddess Pauly Perette.

Hot. Midget. One of many eye candies on Boston Legal of all ages and sizes.

This is my moment of Meredith fandom today.

Yeahh... I won't deny that she's pretty, but I have a feeling that seeing her naked would pretty much take away any of the appeal :).

I'd slap the taste out of any artist who drew her with anything resembling c-section scars or cellulite. They're artists, they can skip details which'd make a little woman look unhot.

-Radius is part of the failed 90s Alpha Flight revamp, a rookie hero who sorta hung around, doing the "wah my force field won't let anyone touch me" thing that Rogue was already doing in X-Men. He went away when the series died, didn't show up for the later revamp, and was confirmed as being one of the "Unimportant De-Powered Mutants" following M-Day.

-Hey, it's another Force Field Guy! I've done a handful of these before, and Radius is slightly different in that his field NEVER comes down, and he can't eat or bathe or anything thanks to it. Hence, he doesn't get the usual "Selective" Feat from the Permanent Field. He eats via a special device hooked to his face which he holds food up to. Hence he doesn't need "Immunity (needs to eat)".

-Flex was Radius' brother, also from the failed 90s Alpha Flight team. His gimmick was turning his hands into bladed weapons, which is kind of neat for a one-shot villain or something, but really not the kind of thing a guy in a super-hero team should have.

-Flex is a low-end Scrapper-type hero, as he's pretty good in Melee (but not as good as a PL 10 Scrapper would be), but only PL 7.5 of offense. His Strike is pretty good, getting better reach, a higher Crit, and the ability to split his attacks, but he's not dishing out furious amounts of damage either.

-Feedback's one of the Gamma Flight members, and only showed up in some later stories in the initial run. Messed-up power that would be very useful if done by a competent character or writer, but the character was such a loser he vanished LONG before the series was ever cancelled, and disappeared forever.

-Probably one of the tougher statting jobs for a mort character, he summons this little "Bio-Doubles" that jump in and Penetrate Armour or shut down machines. He can only make six of them normally (Progression 2), but can up that by absorbing outside sources of electricity into Progression, creating a little army of them.

Complications:
Secret (He Will Die as his Future Self Died)

Abilities: 8 /Skills: 12--3 / Feats: 7 / Powers: 57 / Saves: 6 /Combat: 20 (101)

-Flashback is a Gamma Flight (later Beta Flight) member who's got a Madrox gimmick, but only by bringing in future selves. He got fired with the rest of the trainees, and turned to evil as part of Omega Flight. He was actually a big part of Lobdell's run years after retiring in the initial run (after a 'future' self was killed, and he refused to go on, believing that if he hung up the costume, he would never 'turn into' that version), trying to alter history or somesuch thing. Kind of a useless character all-around, though.

-Duplication in a fairly basic form, he's only PL 5, so he NEEDS those dupes to be any good at all. Note, though, that in spite of him seemingly having the "Real" or "Feedback" Flaws, he didn't actually suffer while his duplicate died; he just reacted badly and decided to retire. So he doesn't even get any real fun things with his power.

-Just what Marvel called for- an Older Superman rip-off! Who's black! And a 90 year-old former coma victim! Yeah, I have no idea what Lobdell was thinking either. He's a passable writer sometimes, but that Alpha Flight series he did just SUCKED. I loved the artist on it, Clayton Henry, who did a bunch of Exiles (not the main guy who did nearly the entire series- this one had a pseudo-anime style), but Lobdell just seemed like he was throwing crap wherever to see what hit big. Centennial's an old man, suddenly developing superhuman powers (basically Superman's), who had an old love in teammate Nemesis. He hasn't appeared since that series, for obvious reasons.

-A balanced PL 9, actually. And about as cheap as a pretty powerful Flying Brick is gonna get, with slightly lower levels in all his powers, and much less accuracy and Defense.

-Okay, that's enough of the pure morts for a bit (Jeez, I had no idea Alpha Flight had so many-- I figured I'd get a handful, but forgot about the Gamma Losers as well); here's one of Alpha's big guns? How big? Well, he's still alive, unlike most of the team, so that's pretty big. Somehow, Sasquatch has come to be the FACE of Alpha Flight in the Marvel Universe.

-Walter's got one of those 'only in comics' origins, where he goes "Hey! Y'know that horrible accident that created the Hulk and ruined Bruce Banner's life? Well I'm gonna REPLICATE IT on purpose!" The procedure turned him into an orange-furred replicant of Canadian mythos, but it wasn't the radiation; it was the Great Beast, Tanaraq, taking over his body. This resulted in some very convoluted storytelling (I think comics writers don't imagine what the synopses of their stories would read like- how do you fully describe the situation of him becoming a chick thanks to taking over Snowbird's dead body, which is somehow able to turn into a Great Beast as well?), and of course it all got made better later, and he even got to lead his own super-crappy Lobdell-created Alpha Flight team.

-Sasquatch is one of the few Alphans with some respect in the Marvel U. He's gone toe-to-toe with The Hulk, The Juggernaut and The Thing (alot of "The"s in there), all without clear winners, and in terms of raw power, is well-thought-of in the ranking pile of Earth-borne powerhouses. Not a bad gimmick, since the rest of Alpha Flight has been mostly forgotten or made fools of.

-Sasquatch is a monster on offense, dealing out +13 Damage- 1 more than guys like Warpath, Colossus and Thing get in my builds (and has +13 Toughness), but of course balances it out with relatively weak offensive and defensive skill. He's got the full gamut of Powerhouse-themed stuff, from Impervious Toughness +10, size (and remember, I let Growth be 2 pp/rank if it's Permanent, because I think it's silly otherwise), lots of raw strength (Marvel is of course typically low-balling it's stats, as their "Class 100 And Under" guys routinely lift airplanes or battleships, all of which weigh FAAAARRRR in excess of 100 tons), some Super-Senses, and a small bit of Regeneration. Not a bad balance, all in all, though he falls to 9.5 in Defense thanks to his sheer size, which I think is accurate based off of his Brickishness in the comics.

-And here's the 'other' Sasquatch. This one was thought to be an animalized Walter Langkowski, but turned out to be an ACTUAL Sasquatch. Funny, of course, how it managed to be just as big as the one we knew, and exactly the same colour. Also, the idea of a whole family of Thing-class powerhouses living out in British Columbia seems kind of weird.

-A much weaker, dumber, less skilled version of Sasquatch. Still nasty, but unwise to actually play as, being basically an animal.

-Hey, it's Manikin! I remember him from my old Alpha Flights (drawn by pre-awesome Jim Lee)! The guy had one of the wierdest powers in comics history; allowing him to call forth three buddies from "past and future genetic lines", being a caveman, a future-tech guy, and a protoplasmic blob of goo. He was a minor-league Beta Flight guy, eventually retiring because he had no major combat powers of his own, and somesuch thing. A whacky concept that could be REALLY powerful if amped up, or if turned into a mega-villain and adding some more Minions into the mix.

-Manikin's only PL 6, since his minions were pretty minor. Ape-Man's a fairly weak Brick, Highbrow's a Flight/Teleport Attacking guy, and Proto's a burning-touch blobby dude. It's an expensive power, Summon Minion, but you get what you pay for with it. Especially with all those extras involved. He can toss all three Minions out at once, basically being three characters for the price of one. But watch Manikin himself; the guy would drop to a stiff breeze, and couldn't handle the slightest protracted combat.

-Northstar gets some cred for being the first gay character in superheroics (that's reasonably mainstream). John Byrne states that while desperately attempting to give the team SOME characterization beyond flat 2-D archetypes that can last against the X-Men, he decided to make one of the team members gay. In doing so, he was left with only Jean-Paul, since the women would make it too sexy, the married people would be wrong, and Sasquatch would be REALLY, REALLY wrong. It was really subtle for the longest time, until the mid-90s, when comics could get away with that kind of thing. Not that it made him that much better a character, but it was there. He even got to join the X-Men for a while, before being casually offed by Wolverine, and reborn as a lame assassin type with more powers. And HEY LOOK! A hot-headed, impulsive speedster! Never seen THAT one before!

-PL 10, falling 10 pp short of the magic 150 pp margin, which makes sense. It gives him a ways to go before he hits his X-Men or "Hand-Ninja-Enhanced" Levels. He's got a balanced 10/10 Slam attack, more accurate weaker attacks, etc. His limitations involve him being stuck in the Air for all of his best offense AND defense, meaning he doesn't max out either at one time. His Protection doesn't even work if he's not flying. Great reflexes, initiative, etc. as per usual for speedsters. That Dazzle is pretty effective, but has a very crippling Flaw that alters it's effectiveness.

Well Jabroniville, given the number of characters you've statted I'd say that you needn't apologise.

I wouldn't have been able to stat up half these fellows because I've barely heard of them. . .

-Diamond Lil started out as a Gamma Flight villainess, but did a 'face turn' long enough to join the team for a short while. She seemed to be around just to get married off to Madison "Box" Jeffries, and hasn't really shown up in any major level in 15 years. Not a bad concept, though kind of generic (not strong, but diamond-hard), especially now that Emma Frost has her gimmick, but better in every way.

-Another balanced PL 9, she's tough and hits very hard (she's knocked around and killed some obviously-weaker parallel Earth versions of heroes in the usual "I'm the writer and I'm gonna show how tough MY characters are by killing other books' characters!" scene), but she's not up to the major leagues by any means with a pp cost that low. Rather under-skilled and under-feated.

-Nemesis has a bizarre, confusing history, mainly popping up in the Alpha Flight books again and again as some sort of melee-fighting Spirit of Retribution, then vanishing. Her latest appearance in the Lobdell run gave her some extra powers, and a real last name, but she's still a weird character who makes little sense. When a totally forgettable character has a three-page backstory, you know something's wrong.

-An under-pointed PL 10, only coming to caps by hitting a Sneak Attack with Scell, her sword. Using it, she can Teleport or move through time, bringing others with her. She can discover one of their greatest secrets in the process as well. Plus, she's super fast and can fly. Beware of her deadly auto-fire Strike, as she can add that sucker to her sword for an Auto-Fire +6 Damage attack.
