[b]Back Story: The short, rotund Oswald Cobblepot is the notorious criminal known as The Penguin...he will just never admit it. As intelligent and as crafty as they come, Cobblepot uses his famed
Iceberg Lounge as a cover for his many, many capers. He loves to think of himself as a "gentleman criminal", but the truth of the matter is that, among the sane, very few come more ruthless and cruel then this buzzard.
Degraded as a youngster for his looks, Cobblepot comes from "old money". The Cobblepot Family was once as rich as the Waynes, but lost much of it in bad investments and gambling. The short, crafty Oswald wants it all back...and will stop at very little to get it.
Don't EVER underestimate this somewhat comical looking nightclub owner, as Cobblepot is a master at both Judo and Fencing, as well as always has a few thugs and traps nearby...especially if you choose to engage him at the Iceburg.
**The Penguin was actually a more expensive build then what I thought he was going to be...but considering his talents and power, it fits.
What needs to be remembered about Cobblepot is that, despite his appearance, he is a surprisingly agile and fierce fighter, well versed in Judo and Fencing. To understand how Cobblepot fights, you have to look at someone that is constantly trying to get you off guard.
I gave him Quick Draw as a feat, as well as Subtle in his Umbrella. This represents the fact that all his weapons are hidden at first...you will never know which umbrella that Oswald is holding at any given moment...and he can spring it on you with the flick of a thumb!!
He has Accurate Atk, Defensive Atk, Improved Disarm, Weapon Bind, & Weapon Break to help his fencing skill, but he will also use the umbrella to trip you with the hook, to startle you with a flick of the umbrella, spreading it out and pulling it back to it's fighting form.
I also gave him Ranged Pin...because I have seen Oswald use the umbrellas like giant darts, pinning an opponent to a wall or other hard surface.
as a master criminal, Oswald is rather well off, have two Benefit Feats: status as a club owner to Gothams who's who list, and his wealth from his life of crime. He also gets Connected, contacts, and well-informed, making Cobblepot a VERY well connected figure in Gotham, either in public, or in the criminal underground. If it's out there, Oswald knows about it...or knows someone that knows.
I also gave him an Animal Empathy to birds (kinda covers his slight obsession), and Inventor (i don't see oswald sending out for trick umbrellas...those are self built if you ask me.
Oswald is best used like the Kingpin...losts of connections and contacts...lots of information and power....and looks hide immense fighting skill.
