[The Astral Plane] In marvel the Astral plane is ruled by Telepathy, those with this power have the ability to learn and fashion it. Giving them an excuse to gain the Variable power. The Astral plane is sometimes commonly entered from a dream like state, but not always. And Telepaths of great skill can learn to do this consciously. As in professor X's case, once he enters the Astral Plane. He can reduce his Astral Form to Rank 1, allowing him to put his Variable power up to Rank 11. Once on the Astral Plane, it is assumed all creatures within it can interact with each other physically and mentally. Though only skilled Telepaths even have a chance, of detecting other astral minds or other telepaths within the astral plane. Otherwise they would wander in their own mind scape, unable to interact with the others and detect them. Think of the astral plane, as a multitude of layers all inter connected. It is woven and shaped by unconscious thought, creating its own little pocket of reality.
In the Astral Plane, a astral or insubstantial form's physical stats change. Since the physical cannot influence the substance of the plane. Your Wisdom scores becomes your new Constitution. Intelligence becomes your new Dexterity, and Charisma becomes your new Strength score.
[The Ethereal Realm] The Ethereal Realm, which is where ghosts usually exist, are just beyond the astral plane. This realm is ruled by Telekinesis. Since most supernatural forces, require the gathering of energy to affect the material world.
