-- A slip stream drive allows interstellar travel, failure on the piloting check does nothing except allow the pilot to travel at Slow Interplanetary speed, failing by more than 5 sends the ship in the wrong direction (randomly chosen by the GM). A successful check allows a person to travel at Medium Interstellar Travel, while succeeding by more than 5 allows you to move at Fast Interplanetary. Additional Rules, allow for the more frequently traveled routes become a lot easier. (so lower the DC in commonly used routes)

Great Steampunk Superman JD! Its always good to see new versions of classic characters.

Question, why do his Toughness and Strength lose ranks in darkness? Also, shouldn't his Penetrating Strength and Impervious Toughness be Extras, and not Linked?

I wanted to simulate his Solar absorption, and yes Linked or as an Extra Its the same way.

I think this is to represent his being solar powered. Being at Steampunk levels means that he doesn't quite hold the same vast charges of energy. It's a fun little limitation, I think.

Oh yes, originally it was going to be a drawback. But, i decided to just give him lower levels of his abilities. Then having them totally taken away eventually.

Campaign Setting: God Like
Premise: Here's an idea for a campaign idea, i have tossed around for awhile now. An ancient world, where the “super heroes” are really the gods of myth.

Making a character depends on the kind of God like characters you want to play.
Quasi Gods: Are built on PL 8/120 pp’s. These are the hero’s of myth who have risen to great heights, and have ascended into the ranks of a Pantheon. Quasi Deities have not learned to manipulate cosmic forces, to manipulate reality. But they have many tricks, powers, and devices at their disposal.
Demi Gods: Are built on PL 10/150 pp’s. Demi gods have risen into the ranks of pantheon, and are over all accepted as having an influence in the cosmic scale of things. These gods have access to 1 god sphere of power.
Lesser Gods: Are built on PL 12/180 pp’s. Lesser Gods, are usually of Cosmic origin. However a Quasi may arise this high. Such gods have access to 2 god spheres.
Intermediate: Are built on PL 14/210 pp’s. Intermediate gods, are powerful beings, with the ability to command several areas of influence. Such gods can have access to 3 god spheres.
Greater Gods: Are built on PL 16/240 pp’s. Greater gods have at the top of the Cosmic ladder, and have access to 4 or even 5 god spheres.


Basic God Templates:
Abilities [12pp]: All gods have a far higher endurance level than mortals, as well as a commanding presence. And the wisdom to use their power. Constitution 14, Wisdom 14, Charisma 14.
Feats [5pp]: All gods have the quintessential essence, to manipulate the world and to some agree the reality around them. All gods start with 4 ranks in luck, giving them 5 Hero points. Also all gods possess the Benefit (Status) Feat, based on their god like power: Quasi, Demi, Lesser, Intermediate, and Greater.
Powers [9/15pp]:
Immortality 6 [Immunity (Aging, Disease, Cold, Hot Temperatures) + Regeneration 1 (Resurrection; Extra: True Resurrection)] - All gods are immune to mundane necessities, they never age, and cannot die from disease, or temperature extremes. They also have a chance of coming back from the dead, should they die.
Super Senses 3 [Cosmic Awareness (radius, extended)] - All gods can sense the energy that is used from most god like beings.
God Spheres 1 [A god sphere is an area of control, a descriptor which sets the nature of most of their powers. This is the Variable Power (at 6pp/rank), if a god has the potential to know more than one god sphere. They have the option to take this power again, for another god sphere]. Remember Quasi deities would not have access to God Spheres.

I wanted to try my luck at doing a Wheel of Time build, and thought I would start with my favorite character in the series. Moiraine Damodred. Character is built with a 5:1 skill point system.

- Moiraine has the ability weave the flows of Saidar. This is a 6 pt variable power, with a flaw so the descriptor is increasingly limited as you can see. The variable power feat, grants her a different descriptor she can change to. It takes 1 round to change the descriptor to a new one. So she knows 4 different aspects of magic, Conjunction, Elementalism, Healing, and Warding.

The talents are Conjunction (the bond between people), Cloud Dancing (the link between the caster and primal forces of weather). Bale Fire (lost), Earth Singing (the connection with the element of earth), Elementalism (the connection between all elements, including light), Healing (the talent to heal the body and mind), Illusion (powers which affect the mind, and the senses), Traveling (travel great distances in short periods of time), Warding (Protecting people, places or objects)

Equipment [5 ep]: Staff (+2 mighty strike), 3 different changes of clothes.

[The Astral Plane] In marvel the Astral plane is ruled by Telepathy, those with this power have the ability to learn and fashion it. Giving them an excuse to gain the Variable power. The Astral plane is sometimes commonly entered from a dream like state, but not always. And Telepaths of great skill can learn to do this consciously. As in professor X's case, once he enters the Astral Plane. He can reduce his Astral Form to Rank 1, allowing him to put his Variable power up to Rank 11. Once on the Astral Plane, it is assumed all creatures within it can interact with each other physically and mentally. Though only skilled Telepaths even have a chance, of detecting other astral minds or other telepaths within the astral plane. Otherwise they would wander in their own mind scape, unable to interact with the others and detect them. Think of the astral plane, as a multitude of layers all inter connected. It is woven and shaped by unconscious thought, creating its own little pocket of reality.

In the Astral Plane, a astral or insubstantial form's physical stats change. Since the physical cannot influence the substance of the plane. Your Wisdom scores becomes your new Constitution. Intelligence becomes your new Dexterity, and Charisma becomes your new Strength score.

[The Ethereal Realm] The Ethereal Realm, which is where ghosts usually exist, are just beyond the astral plane. This realm is ruled by Telekinesis. Since most supernatural forces, require the gathering of energy to affect the material world.


1. Professor X's PL goes up to 13, because i now understand the limitations of Perception ranged attacks.

2. Telepathic Wide Array, gets replaced with Telepathic Mastery Variable Power. A 8pp/rank power, so he can have multiple powers in affect at any time.

Before I took a look at what Thor was holding in his left hand, I initially thought beard-dude was held by the short hairs there.

This painting seems to be the inspiration for Kirby's take on Thor - beautiful (man-pretty as a friend once said), blond and lean.
