On this build, we are also soliciting assistance in the mechanics of John's hammer. I did a bare bones reflection, but I would really like ideas on the ability to make it hit harder the further it goes. I am not married to this PL or bonuses, so whatever I like, I'll use. Escalating Auto-Fire, progression, whatever, I'd just like a good thought or two. Thanks for shopping at J-Mart!

Comments: …And they said here is a Steel drivin’ build, LORD, LORD, oh there sits a Steel drivin’ build…

John Henry Irons, baby. I thought about going completely all out on him, but I’ll see how this PL11 version goes. He was my favorite of the New Supermen by far (even though The Eradicator was pretty cool) and the Shaq movie wasn’t THAT bad. (OK, it was, but I am also a diehard Lakers fan and Shaq will always get the benefit of the doubt with me!)

This was one the builds I was planning to use in an upcoming storyline about a group of black heroes becoming a team, but as you have probably seen BatgirlIII scooped me on it (and had a much better developed idea, of course). I'm still posting them, though, since I am a hack at heart... :)

Clean Up 9/1/08: Since I was making a PC version of John, I thought I would clean up my original Steel build while I was at it. Tightened up a few things and took him up a PL.

Quick clean up on my main Steel build while I was whipping up the PC version. I decided to use the hammer mechanic that Taliesin and I had chatted about to simulate the "hits harder the further it flies" ability.

Always been a fan of John Henry

Join the Hammertime. I've been a fan of Steel for a while as well. Seeing him pound on Lex was the highlight of 52.

Just a question Thorp I am not sure if this will be an issue but the quotes underneath the captions are straight from whatever manual I have listed. I did give credit for the quotes though to the manuals. Not sure if you were planning to have a D&D section Thorp but here are a few builds. Hope you like them. Oh I have been out of the loop for awhile, congrats on 1000 builds by the way.

I don't think it's an issue about th e quotes since you gave credit, but you never know. The Greed Wizards of the Coast can be right bastards sometimes.

I assume these are 3.5 conversions, right? I was considering doing some 4.0 conversions soon, so I should probably get that D&D Aisle set up. For now, I will put these in the fantasy/RPG Aisle. Thanks for the builds, I like them a lot. D&D was my first gaming love and it's always good to see some love for it, even here.

Yep these are 3.5 conversions. I have seen the new 4.0 monster manual but haven't thought of a way to convert those yet. Not sure if my conversion process made sense to anybody. Wizard can be a pain with this stuff at times. Well if you don't here from me anymore you know what happened.

Comments: This is a Chwidencha, a horrifying creature to say the least. They hide in rubble in caves waiting to pounce on there prey. Just seeing it coming toward you is scary with it's many legs and claws attached to them. It cannot speak but it understands Undercommon. Attacks from it's claws are considered magical attacks to overcome damage resistance.

Back Story: Nathanial Adams was subjected to a US government authorized suicide mission: investigate an alien ship, and then detonate a nuclear device next to it. However, unbeknownst to the goverment, the alien metal on the ship had amazing properties, as it melted into his skin at the same time as the nuclear device went off. He was in a statis for several weeks, later emerging as Captian Atom, an almost unstoppable hero.

Captian Atom, however, could never have known that his increadiable powers could subject him to random involuntary jumps in the temporal and dimensional stream. Several of these jumps have ended up making him insane...and Atom has recreated himself as the Monarch, a powerful warlord of untold power that dwells outside of the numerous realties, within the Bleed.

**.....ok...so I say it alot..but this time I mean it...WOW...the Monarch is a monster, even by himself. He brings numerous followers and starships to the field, as well as his general, Forerunner. He has IMMENSE power in his own right, but would rather "negotiate" first....though his terms of negotiation aren't the best "do this or perish"..."carry out my bidding and join me".

He is up there with Superman and Martian Manhunter in terms of power, as he can boost any power he has by force of will.

He wears the Monarch Armor because it is his lifesupport system..see...Captian Atom's "suit/skin" has a large gash in the chest...and he is leaking energy...if this was to continue...he would die, as both her and Major Force are beings of pure energy anymore, hence the immortality.

I just didn't feel like putting in the Alt form Energy power...because he can't change back from it anyway.

Hey Employees of J-Mart…

I am looking for a Marvel person with the abilities to Time Traveler…

LOVE that Monarch, too, GF, although I am bummed that you beat me to him. I was working on him since I was updating my Captain Atom, but he can wait a little bit so I don't seem like quite the hack that I am.

And Leopold, J-Mart does not have a Kang on the shelves so we look forward to your creation.

Cybernetic Eyes (4pp)
Tech Rat has given Andrea back her life, with a pair of cybernetic eyes that not only give her regular vision but the ability to see in the dark. As well as a natural resistance to dazzle attacks.
-Sensory Shield 2 [+4 to visual dazzle attacks]
-Super Senses 2 [Darkvision]
Devices [40pp]:
Black Widow Armor 10 [Device; Hard to Remove] = 40
The Black Widow Armor, perhaps one of the more strangest powered armors developed. She stole a prototype armor from Aegis, and had it retrofitted to fit her motif. The Black widow armor has a number of tendrils which extrude from her helmet, she can use these to pick things up as well as to trip her opponents with. The armor's main design, was to allow someone to work in low light and no-light situations. As well as stealth technology. The advances from Tech Rat, include enhanced Dexterity, Leaping, Wall Climbing all to fit the spider motif. It has incredible resistance to damage, and her main power are remote controlled throwing discs made of razor sharp material.
-Additional Limbs 5 [25 tendrils; Alternate Powers: Trip 5] = 6pp
-Damage 8 [Razor sharp discs; Feats: Homing, Thrown, Ricochet; Extras: Penetrating] = 19pp

-Protection 8 = 8pp
-Super Movement 1 [Wall crawling] = 2pp
-Super Senses 5 [Blind sight (radius)] = 5pp
Equipment [Wealth Bonus +18]: ?
Drawbacks [4]: Normal Identity (Full Round)

Story:
Andrea Soto grew up being blind, looking for a way to see again. She was bitter, and turned to martial arts and larcenous pursuits to help attempt to do so. But her more lucrative parents, wanted her to study law. So she became a lawyer, something she was good at. But she wasn't in it for the satisfaction of defending the system. She wanted to use it. Black Mail, Extortion, and Intimidating. All things she was rather good at, helped her track down and steal an experimental body armor that would allow people to function in low sensory situations. Which was perfect for her so she became the Black Widow. Eventually she ran into Dr. David Jeffries who offered her a proposition. And would work on cybernetic replacements so she could see again, if she helped work for his group. She agreed and has never looked back yet. I would like to point out, she is perhaps the most evil of the group. She has no problems killing others.

Back Story: The Forerunners are genetically created warriors that were initially used to serve the Monitors as their personal warriors. They are origionally "inhabitants" of War World, but this ended when a young Forerunner by the name of Viza Aziv was warned about an incoming battle fleet. She defeated the fleet single handedly, marking her 400th kill. She was then approached by a Monitor, and became his personal intrument of "rightous" death.

She would later be abandoned by that same monitor, on her failure to kill "reality Anomalies" Jason Todd and Donna Troy. In her disgrace, she cursed the monitors, and would later be approached by the inter-dimensional warlord, Monarch. He made her his General, and assigned her to lead his attack force, also teaching them the unique fighting style of the Forerunner society.

**I just recently found out about this character...but I think she is hell on wheels!!! She's got that whole elven warrio/ alien female thing going on..and thats HOT.

The few things I added, that I have somewhat noticed but the Database Project has not put in, is that the Forerunners have the ability to detect and track "reality anomalies" through a kind of mental sense. Also...I think anyone with long elven ears should get the hyper hearing I basically gave her.

I gave her the kind of feats that would allow her to attack fast and hard, kinda like a one woman strike team. Fast Overrun, Improve Critical, Move-by action, Poweratk, and Takedown atk are all to represent her specialized fighting style. Speed, plus hitting you hard with Power atk, which couples with her Autofire strike...so it's gonna feel like a jackhammer against you.

I do like the Forerunner, but I think her Toughness is too low. Donna Troy hurt her hand just hitting her. She should probably have some Impervious.

Other than that, I think you built her pretty well. She'll get indexed tomorrow, I am pooped tonight. I work for an insurance company and the whole Gustav thing is making things nuts. Still, I count myself very lucky that I am sitting comfortably in the Midwest swamped at work as opposed to being down south without power in 100 degree heat...
