It's a shame this character wasn't around for very long.

Thanks, and my pleasure.

In fact, I had contemplated the use of those options on Euryale as well but decided against it only for point cost reasoning.

 Virtually a generic paragon, this build is made from her wikipedia entry, her stats listed on writeups.org and the DC database project (which equates to wikipedia).

 I love the concept of Planetary, even though Jakita is the only character I actually like in the series.

 She uses a pair of swords on numerous occasions. However, seeing as she already has a melee attack at caps, I simply used the variable descriptor - "melee weapons" for that function and allow the character to use her unarmed damage. This feat is built into the speed array even if it only applies to the damage aspect. A little clunky, but it works... for now.

 A few posts back I indicated an intent to do a Crime Syndicate variation for the Bladeverse. This is the first member of same. Called simply the Syndicate, the members of this particular group are all major players in their own right, but are more than simple villains with dreams of world conquest.

 The first is an analogue to Johnny Quick, who is in turn the Syndicate’s Flash. I chose Savitar because I find he’s a “player” on the level I’m looking for. Vast resources, can give the Flash a run for his money (Thorp’s puns are catching…). Other reasons for choosing Savitar will become apparent as the other Syndicate members are revealed.

 Pity he was only really around for six issues of the Flash comic, notwithstanding references in various future setting comics to “Savitrix” and “Savitar Leeches.”

 I refrained from posting the miminmal background information from the character sheet as there really isn’t any on Savitar. All we know is that he was a cold war test pilot that became a Speedster instead of a Green Lantern…

 Trade-Offs: +2 Defense, -2 Toughness

 As a Speedster, Savitar is soooo much more. Savitar named himself for the Hindu god of motion and he certainly fits that bill. His TK powers are not limited to objects in motion, as he used his abilities to hurl shuriken at Wally that were dead still.

 One thing I left out of the build was his Speed Ninjas. He has a truckload of minions, treat as Ninja from the core rulebook. However the Speed that gets loaned to them is actually drawn from the Speed Force by a machine powered by Lady Flash. I treat this as an invented item, a plot device for the purposes of the story.

 Despite his awesome array of powers and ability to trump Wally throughout the story arc, I believe that Savitar is actually not as fast as Wally. I attribute his ability to outrun Wally in the last issue of the story as actually draining some of Wally’s speed without the latter realizing it. Then with extra effort… Wally dumps him in the Speed Force.

 The Immunity is an add in my interpretation of the build. It represents the fact that if Savitar to go against Wally for instance, the latter’s ability to nullify movement would have no effect on the self-proclaimed god of motion.

 Sustained Regeneration – Gives him 40 points of Regeneration, Since 43 points is enough to recover with no action against all effects… I allow him use of most of that. He can recover instantly from all effects – except Unconsciousness and Death. He has to recover from Unconsciousness/ Dying normally, and as soon as he is able to take a free action… he’s up and running again. So, moral of the story… if you’re going to his Savitar, be sure you knock him down with your first hit.

 Explosive Damge linked to Insubstantial.. this represents running through an object and causing it to explode.

 Although there is no cost savings, Savitar’s Ritual Feat is restricted to arcane rituals involving Speed and Motion. He replaces Arcane Lore with Speed Force Lore for this purpose. I didn’t feel that this justified a use of the Benefit Feat to switch the skill involved with the Feat.

 Despite that I usually “respect” PL vs. PP, I pulled out the stops on this one to make him a challenge for any group of speedsters, let alone one. He’s really designed to be defeated in one way and one way only – bounce him into or off of the Speed Force.

* Mastermind’s Manual

 I’ve been trying to figure out how to incorporate Oracle into the Bladeverse without the cheese factor approaching really bad levels. I couldn’t justify Barbara Gordon because I have plans to incorporate her with Nightwing whose mythos has moved to Daredevil’s side in light of Bruce Wayne being Superman instead of Batman. Then I stumbled on an article where Chloe was intended to be introduced into mainstream DC…

 Chloe replaces Lana Lang in the Bladeverse. She can still be the cousin of Lois Lane but Lois never hooks up with Bruce the way that Lois and Clark hook up.

 In terms of character history the Bladeverse Chloe isn’t arrested for hacking government mainframes. She likewise doesn’t swap powers with Brainiac. The former is actually covered by Bruce.

 Chloe in the Bladeverse kind of has the Rachel Dawes role of Batman Begins – childhood friend drops out of his life for a number of years… could be a love interest but Bruce actually falls for someone else (Kathy Kane in the Bladeverse). To make the background fit it’s necessary to add wealthy parents or a scholarship to an expensive private school to permit Chloe and Bruce to meet.

 I relied heavily on the Mastermind’s Manual for this build. Skills are bought 5/1 instead of the standard 4/1 and she has a few Challenges in her arsenal. The build itself is based off the Wikipedia entry (the Healing power et al) She is meant to be not quite as experienced as Babs in computer use but no slouch either. She also couldn’t stand to Babs as Batgirl in a fight but has some skill. Some of her feats also come from that sourcebook.

 I Alt Powered Regeneration off of Healing. From a build standpoint if you prefer to do the reverse by all means go ahead. And yes I did not flaw the Healing so she is able to use it on herself. She just cannot Regenerate and Heal at the same time. (As an aside, her Regeneration costs 44 points vs her 46 point Healing.)

 The Equipment points should go into various computers and a headquarters worthy of Oracle and funded as only Bruce Wayne can fund something or someone.

 Cost wise she’s pretty expensive. I set the PL at 8 as per my rationale of her relative skill to Barbara Gordon. (She’s actually sort of benchmarked against Thorpacolypse’s Oracle) She is 47 point above PL 8 – the cost of her Healing powers. Since she can’t really be Hacker Girl and Healer Girl at the same time I would allow this character as a PC as is in my campaign. For now she’s an NPC so I don’t need to worry about it. ;)

 In terms of Complications Chloe has a number of Secrets that could haunt her – her love for Bruce her knowledge of his identity… She also has a memory loss aspect to her Healing abilities that could be treated as a Complication. Further treat her Resurrection delay as a complication: on Smallville, Chloe is shown returning to life after varying delays. Apply Hero Points according to the situation – the closer to an autopsy that you put her the more points she should get.

 I considered the name “Watchtower” from her wikipedia entry as she does serve the Oracle role for Green Arrow’s fledging Justice League but in the end kept Oracle because it sounds better.

 Oddly she winds up being a cross between Claire from Heroes and Barbara Gordon…

 I like how my Umbrella Array turned out – note that some of those powers - such as Force Field – are more mechanic than descriptor.

 The odd power point total is because the Bladeverse Penguin is actually the metamorphed identity of the Cartel.

 And of course, if he dies, The Cartel can easily replace the Penguin...

 I gave him a MJ23 Identicard – because The Cartel has acquired one, and being a paid for device it can be duplicated. He still only really works as an information broker…

 The Bladeverse Dr Fate helmet, to the astute observer, is actually built with the same base as the Bladeverse Firestorm (Xandarian Energy Matrix). It is in fact, just such a Matrix. In the Bladeverse, in the time of Ancient Egypt, the Xandarians had already begun to use agents throughout the universe. Their technology not being as advanced as it is today, they used helmets and other items as foci for their energy matrices.

 The notes from the Xanadarian Energy Matrix apply to this build too.

 I used Magic as the helm’s base power descriptor is that the energies wielded in ancient times more resemble what we would deem magic today.

 The idea behind this particular build is alluded to in the base Xandarian Matrix – there is a mind trapped within the helm, one possessed of an impressive magical array of powers. It is up to the GM when a gestalt is formed with a new host to determine who is in charge of Matrix form of Dr. Fate. (Scale down the Corrupt Sorcerer archetype from MnM if you want practically ready made stats for a sorcerer trapped within the helm…

 Wonder Woman, but powered slightly differently. Diana Prince is the daughter of two prominent archaeologists, betrayed and killed on the eve of their most important archaeological find – the ruins of Themyscira. Their daughter fled into the remains of the temple of Athena where she was guided and imbued with the powers of the Amazons…

 The skills take into account her Jack-of-all-Trades feat.

 The Regal Grace is lifted from Joshua Dunlow’s deity creation rules, as she is all but a demi-god.

 Note that this Wonder Woman doesn’t have a lariat – I’m toying with adding in a rank or two of a god Sphere, relating to truth and requiring the medium of the lasso. Not sure if I’ll do that. Distinct possibility though. I should think one or two ranks would be sufficient. One to build the snare abilities of the indestructible lariat, and the other to create a no-save mind control effect.

 Showing my Geek Factor with this one. Just before Superman exiled himself into space, right after he murdered three Phantom Zone criminals in a pocket universe when DC had collapsed the Multiverse… (whew, that’s complicated)… Superman couldn’t cope with the fact that he had acted as judge, jury and execution – at least on a conscious level. Therefore, his subconscious mind created Gangbuster, to replace the original vigilante of the same name. Gangbuster did what Superman would not, caused Superman to show signs of fatigue… and best of all Superman had no idea it was going on until a fight with the Guardian damaged the Gangbuster uniform, revealing the Superman underneath…

 Nothing so melodramatic has yet to occur in the Bladeverse, but the above build sets the stage for the if and when…

 Take Superman, limit powers where he exerts control and leave the passive powers intact. The result is a character as tough as Superman but without the capacity to move mountains.

 Odd. Had this on my PC for weeks, someone else posted an excellent version of her and then I went to post it last night… and muffed up my own post. Ah well.

 In the Bladeverse, Julia succumbs to my longstanding theory that she’s actually a symbiote like Venom et al. Only thing is, the symbiosis is complete and the symbiote is very much sane by all accounts. Perhaps Julia was actually dead when the creature bonded, reanimating her body and assuming her memories… semantics and description, but it does account for the Drawback.

 Seems like a lot of the Spiderwomen are or were associated with Black Ops type groups. So I felt like adding her to MJ23 (Stormwatch division.)

 Going along with the Symbiote idea, she doesn’t have the Suit standard to my MJ23 operatives, instead having the protection power. She also gets quick change as an Enhanced Feat.

 Otherwise, there’s nothing really all that special to this build, and actually sits more at PL 11 with most of her caps, but I left her at 12 with her final point cost.

 First. This build owes itself entirely to Joshua Dunlow’s god campaign rules. There are three things modified from those rules. First is that this particular godling/ quasi deity is not fully immortal. Second, I created two Divine Presence effects and link them together instead of one. Then Cosmic Awareness was altered to reflect the Folk. In any event, I believe that this character accurately represents the feel of those rules and that campaign style.

 Second. The character is a conversion of a Changeling the Dreaming character I once ran as a GM PC. (As opposed to an NPC, a GM PC is one that adventures with the characters to fill a whole caused by lack of players.) This build accurately represents the starting level of that character. The truckload of Regen was the closest that I could come to the extra punishment absorbing capability of Changeling Trolls without (IMO) jumping the shark with other effects.

 For the build itself, I am technically over by a few points. There are a few too many points in drawbacks, but they fit and I wanted to fit the build into the PL 8/ 120 PP range as closely as possible. Other than that, it’s a relatively straightforward build.

 I resisted using the innate feat all over the place for her powers because in Changeling, the “death” of the Fae Mien represented a reversal to human form. Besides, I didn’t have the points. ;)

 I made no attempt to convert Chimerical Damage.

 Use the equipment for various weapons.

 Skills are at 5/1 as per Mastermind’s Manual.

 For the campaign, Scathach is the reincarnation of the legendary Sidhe Scathach n Uanaind. The obvious problem is that she’s a Troll. Does this work in the framework of Changeling? We made it work because it was a damn fun campaign hook. In fact, it was a solo campaign and the other character (the only “real” PC) was a full-blooded Sidhe and discovered Tanya’s secret – and made it her personal goal to reinstate the Troll’s title and honor.

 To equate the campaign to a MnM game, it would be mostly a PL 6 street level game – which makes Tanya a really powerful individual. Her ally, Rima, was also PL 8 equivalent and would have similar quasi-deity abilities. I may have to stat her… In any event, by the time she regains her name/ title and full power, Tanya becomes a full PL 10. An updated build for another time.

 Oh, btw, the spelling of Trol is on purpose. In her human Seeming, Tanya wore a t-shirt that said Trol on the back and had “Huk’d on fonics wurk’d for me” on the front.

 Skills are at 5/1 as per Mastermind’s Manual.

 Boys in the Lab is a feat I filched (without permission I might add) directly from the boards. It’s just such a cool idea and almost a variable descriptor feat applied to inventor and I just had to use it.

 This build is based heavily on the Battlesuit Archetype with minor tweaks.

 Originally created for an online 2nd generation Marvel campaign, and based a little off of the What If… Tony Stark was the Sorcerer Supreme… I present Corvette. Daughter of Tony Stark and Amethyst. She possesses modest mystical talent that is heavily enhanced by her armour. She has not figured out how to boost her Healing abilities and I would not permit a hero point to add to that power – for now.

 Contrary to other builds of wealthy characters, including many of my own, I did not include the wealth feat in this character. Should that rule be in use, add at least three levels.

 I could easily work a low level blast into magic array and then boost it via the suit, but I like the idea of not having healing through the suit and not being able to effect mystical blasts outside the suit.

 In terms of background, The Winstons (Amethysts adoptive Earth parents) were well to-do and influential in political and business affairs. I cannot fathom an extra-dimensional Royal House placing their daughter in the care of anything or anyone else. Especially considering that she was hidden on Earth in a time of crisis.

 Finally, in terms of the actual armor, I'm still undecided as to how feminine I'd make it. I'm tempted to just go with one of her father's designs and state that the armour is slightly less bulky in certain areas and certain others are expanded to, ahem, account for, ahem, well you get the idea... And given her link to Amethyst, I would go with Silver and Metallic Purple for the colors

I'm considering converting my Oracle to the post-Brainiac version, but I'm waiting to see how the storyline plays out for more inspiration. Stat wise it's easy enough to wipe out the Healing/ Regen and put in Datalink/ Quickness etc... but I'm looking for the complications that will come with it as well as the drawbacks (both mechanical and conceptual).

 The comments for the PL 8 Trol are valid for this build here.

 Upped to PL 10 to represent where she as at by the end of the campaign, there are actually only minor changes. First is a loss of feats. These are grouped into Trol’s god sphere, Battle. I refrained from calling it combat to indicate that it’s a little larger than combat and to avoid confusion with simple combat feats. Battle represents anything to do with fighting – Base Attack, Combat Feats, appropriate Challenges, and in certain conditions Strength and strength-related powers.

 The other major change is the presence of the Maul of the Titans. This was a weapon commissioned by the other PC when she realized who Tanya really was. Impressed by the player’s devotion to Trol and regained her status, I actually placed a very severe geas on the player as payment for the weapon. The weapon itself can become virtually any melee weapon, doing damage as appropriate. For truly devastating results, in hammer form it cab be used to sunder even the most solid of items… The restriction on the Maul accounts for the fact that Super-Strength gives an effective +4 Strength for lifting purposes, allowing Trol to wield the hammer.

 Note also the absence of complications at this stage.
