Are there any points you'd particularly like me to remember or address?

I'd love to hear the various ways that Europe reacts to super heroes personally and if any are particularly well liked or disliked, personally. How the Patriots react vs. the Freedom League abroad would be good too.

Feel free to create any of your own superheroes.

The Starlight Squadron is basically the world's first Anti-Superhuman Police Force. Such things aren't really all that common yet in HED! as super villains are largely considered the province of the Foundation (or AEGIS in Earth-627)

Its members include Thomas Duvalle, the former Liberator who seems to be like Wolverine in that he shows up in the oddest damn places in my writing (including AEGIS, the Tomorrow Soiety and America Force One. The old Liberator helps train people with anti-super human methodry and does his best to deal with them.

Claire Danvers is another famous member, devoted to taking down SpartaCorp and wiping out the various monstrous horrors they've unleashed (her brother being killed in a Zombie Plague). It's a fairly open secret she's also Ymir's on again, off again girlfriend.

Jonathan Shepherd is another member still, a weird black suited Detective that is a disgraced Federal agent hat generally acts like a Man in Black. He's their resident expert on aliens and has been offered a chance to go to New Amsterdam and head up his own branch.

The team has a surprising amount of success really with resolving low to mid level threats.

Hmmm. . .an East Coast branch of the Starlight Squadron would be a perfect hook for my 'Tall Tales' idea (The one I told you about concerning America Force One and a few others. . .) on the East Coast. 8)

I'll do my best to give you a good look at the Extra-ordinary Europe of Heroic Earth. I'm not sure about the Freedom League, but I'll think about giving it a try.

One more thing Charles, might I request a Villain Profile on your version of Dracula, please? He's fairly important to an idea I'm working on, which I'll PM to you directly. Hopefully you'll have a howling good time reading it.

Dracula

All hail the Lord of the Damned! He is ruler of all that he surveys and he surveys the world!
-Doctor Morbus, Blood-Slave of Dracula.

The story of Dracula has been retold enough times throughout history that few individuals need to hear it again. The First Vampire was born in Wallachia, fought the hordes of the Turks, and eventually made a pact with Satan after the suicide of his wife. For over three hundred years, he worked horrible evils across the planet and was finally dispatched by the efforts of Doctor Abraham Van Helsing. With that, the Dreaded Curse of Vampirism was brought to an end and everyone lived happily ever after.

Oh, if only it were true. In truth, Dracula's history is a bizarre and surreal story that incorporates many elements of the Modern Era in a peculiar time paradox. Dracula was indeed Vlad the Impaler, born in the 14th century. However, he is the father of vampires from thousands of years in the past and has often been challenged by his extraordinarily powerful wayward progeny. Dracula has been slain on numerous occasions, but like his fictional counterpart, it is difficult to keep a bad vampire down. Dracula is the baddest vampire of them all.

Dracula's infamous pact was made with the diabolical God-King Orkus. Attending a Black Mass, more out of curiosity than anything, Orkus appeared and offered immortality to the violent warlord in exchange for his allegiance. Having already lost the love of his life, Vladimir agreed to sell his soul and was transformed into the First of the Nosferatu. Almost immediately, he found himself under assault by the minions of other vampires and holy men who had been predicting the creation of "The Lesser Beast" foretold in the Bible.

Dracula slew all of the beings that stood in his way but grew irritated with the fact that he could not understand the fact that so many of 'his kind' seemed to know him. Devoting himself to the Black Arts, he quickly mastered the powers of the myriad Orkus-worshiping cults that he encountered. When he finished with them, he transformed Druids and Christian mystics that taught him their own arts before he perverted them. Dracula even journeyed to Cathay, where he encountered the Iron Khan and was briefly a guest of the mighty sorcerer.

The Iron Khan informed Dracula of his destiny. Eventually, he would walk the mists of time and become the father of countless undead creatures throughout time. If Dracula was slain before this destiny was fulfilled then all of time might collapse or the world would be spared the worst depredations of vampirism throughout history. The Iron Khan was gifted with numerous immortal vampire slaves by Dracula as repayment and the two parted companies. Dracula was most worried by the Iron Khan's final prediction. That Dracula would learn to fear his wayward descendants more than anything else.

Dracula orchestrated a brutal purge of his own descendants in order to prevent this, leading to revolts and crushing defeats of the nobles he once protected. Ironically, a small family of Jews that had been servants to a minor noble family were forced to flee to the Netherlands. These would create a surname based on Helsinki. Thus, the Van Helsing family was created (though ethnically Jewish, it should be noted that the family itself has a mixture of religions). The family would be hunted by Dracula's minions but would find themselves capable of retaliation. Already by the time of the 19th century, the family had produced several capable vampire hunters.

In the 19th century, Dracula knew his destiny approached and made his way to the Isle of Britain in preparation to become Lord of the Vampires in truth. The appearance of a woman who resembled his beloved was taken as a sign that he would soon have dominion over the entirety of the world. With this 'Lucy' at his side, Dracula foresaw that vampires would become Lords of the Earth. He foresaw himself as the Anti-Christ and Great Britain as the Empire that would be the starting point of his dominion.

It's somewhat fitting that this period is the time of Dracula's most grandiose humiliations. In the 19th century, Dracula found England already under the domination of the Iron Khan (now known as the "Devil Doctor") and his rival in Professor Moriarty. Moreover, the time lost Alexander Timons (known as "The Time Traveler" to H.G. Wells and the star of several of his works) had teamed with numerous other heroes of the period to oppose enemies that he knew would arise. Greatest of these foes was undoubtedly Cynthia Van Helsing. The role of these two in Dracula is absent by request of Alexander Timons, when they related the story to Bram Stroker but it was she that decapitated Vlad after the Silver Bowie knife of Quincy Morris pierced the Dark Lord's chest.

This would be the first time that Dracula would die. He would be ressucitated by the Iron Khan later, the Devil Doctor attempting to enslave him (and preserve the time line). There, the time traveling Death Mask III managed to acquire his services and stole away in his son's time travel device. Dracula would visit the Time of the God Kings, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome, Imperial China, and even Japan. At least a couple of these occasions resulted in Dracula being abandoned for centuries. By the time that he finally returned in World War 2, he was close to 2,000 years old and had spread the curse of vampirism throughout the world. It was there that Cynthia Van Helsing destroyed Dracula for the second time.

Dracula is currently upon his seventh life and is starting to worry that there is a finite amount that a being like himself can be restored since each occasion brings him closer to Orkus' dark realm. Unlike the Iron Khan, who is still fundamentally human, Dracula loses a bit of his soul with each resurrection and has very little left to sacrifice. His last "death" was at the hands of the second Steel Commando who buried him under a massive pile of rock for decades before blundering fools exposed him to sunlight. The past decades have been largely spent regaining control of all his wayward children.

The Vampire Nation is in command of nearly half the world's vampires. A collection of ancient vampire bloodlines that mark themselves with glyphs and secret languages. They worship Orkus, grudgingly, and have their own systems of magic. Dracula is irritated that most are more loyal to their bloodlines' fathers than they are to him. Several times, Dracula has been forced to fight off these ancient patriarchs in order to avoid them stealing his blood and the status of "Vampire King." His worst enemy in this is Varnei (pronounced "Varney") the Vampire, the oldest vampire in existence and a product of the God-Kings era. Dracula honestly worries he's actually another being who made a pact with Orkus since Varnei was never created by Dracula himself.

Dracula himself is interested in taking a new approach to the world. Instead of merely drinking blood and killing for pleasure, Dracula has devoted the past few decades to gaining power over the mortal world and encouraging his progeny to do the same. He's one of the richest men in the world now and a terrible influence across the former Soviet Union. Unfortunately, Dracula has to cope with the fact that this is not an era where vampires are unopposed masters of the night. P.H.A.N.T.O.M has offered him membership on their board several times and even recruited his idiot son, Mircea, to their board (the Globalist). Dracula's attempted revenge against Alexander Timons and Cynthia Van Helsing has also met with decidedly mixed results.

But Dracula does know this. Time is on my side. Yes it is.

The Patriots

Athena: Recognizes Dracula as nothing more than a slave of Orkus. Her spinning shield was responsible for Dracula's fourth death. Athena believes that vampires should be restored to life, rather than destroyed, and has attempted to discover some way of undoing the terrible curse afflicting their bodies. Dracula has often considered draining her of life in the hope that he could use her blood to become a god.

Divinos: Has fought Dracula before. Dracula drained away his powers and attempted to corrupt him with offers of evil. Divinos turned against him and, realizing that the majority of vampires he faced had no souls, destroyed them. This encounter has left Dracula even more desiring of Divinos' soul. It is impossible to bite him, though, since the solar energy inside him would only destroy Dracula or whatever vampire attempted to transform him.

Black Wing II: Dracula is aware of the man's real identity and personally wants to see the man dead, kneeling at his feet, and vampirized. Black Wing II's lack of a code against killing, especially when it applies to the undead, has made this extremely difficult. Black Wing II knows that Dracula is still alive and hopes to eventually see the Vampire Nation wiped off the face of the Earth (the fact that there are "good" vampires has deterred him from pursuing a genocidal solution, however).

Dawn Wing: Has never fought Dracula. He has, however, fought numerous vampires in Falconcrest City and had his own time travel jaunt back to the 1970s where he fought in a blacksploitation series of comic book fights with some old fashioned superheroes of the time. Even now, Dawn Wing can't help but use a little jive when he thinks of vampire hunting. "Time to kick the butt of the whitest white men on the planet."

Dracula's opinion on Dawn Wing is not exactly politcally correct. "Ah, the Moorish Boy."

The Tomorrow Society

Red Queen: Is someone that Dracula desires to make his vampiric bride. As the daughter of Orkus, he believes he'll be able to gain awesome prestige with his master if he turns her into one of his kind and makes her Queen of the world. Serena, of course, is utterly repulsed by Dracula and only wants to see him staked for the sun. Her magics have never destroyed Dracula but she's survived several hair raising encounters with him.

A re-enachtment of Dracula was actually done with Alex and Fritz rescuing her once after she was infected.

Hell's Angel: Dracula was dismissive of a single "wretched ghost of a low-level German mercenary." He's since altered his assessment since Hell's Angel is the most prolific vampire hunter in human history, even more than Cynthia Van Helsing, with somewhere to the effect of 2,000 or so kills. The Headless Horseman will even put aside his grudge with Alex if it means killing more vampires. Ironically, the Vampire Nation is somewhat grateful for Fritz's existence since he's helped thin the ranks of their numbers enough to show that such an organization as theirs is needed.

This, of course, irritates the **** out of Fritz and he wants to kill himself some elders to prove them wrong. Dracula, himself, refuses to acknowledge his 5th death where he actually had to commit suicide to avoid having his soul claimed. Fritz is also aware it's one of the few occasions he's almost died.

Other

Cynthia Van Helsing: Is now a silver haired (but still attractive) matron. As a member of the John Smith Society and White Lotus Society's American Director, she still is a scourge of the undead. She's aged far less than she should have and some have, privately, whispered that Dracula may have gotten closer to her with his bite than she desired.

The Foundation for World Harmony: Is slowly becoming aware of the Vampire Nation but has no idea of its current extent or the numbers. If they did, almost certainly they'd start to panic and things would get very interesting. They'd have a very difficult time convincing the world that there's vampires in nearly every major world city, however.

Merlin: Is possessed of sufficient magical resources that, if he wanted to, he could simply cast a magical spell that would destroy every single vampire on the planet Earth. The fact that he doesn't is proof that he's not a figure to be trusted. Instead, he allows vampirism to continue as a way to strengthen the supernatural resistance of the world and help cull the ranks of the world's mystics (with those transformed into vampires losing something essential in the process). Merlin soundly crushed Dracula in one of their few altercations.

Dracula is not eager for a repeat performance.

White Lotus Society: The Western Branch is largely devoted to wiping out vampirism in all its forms. Dracula and the Vampire Nation is their chief enemy in the same respect that the Eastern Branch is the enemy of the Iron Khan and the Black Hand's chief enemy. Sadly, they do not achieve nearly the same results as they would like. They have accomplished only about as much as Hell's Angel on his own (adding Cynthia Van Helsing's personal kills into the matter is enough to drastically increase their success).

Villains

Death Mask III: Is still an "ally" to Dracula and wishes to bring his power into PHANTOM. In truth, their relationship has soured over the years with James Moriarty V viewing vampires as a lesser species than human beings and Dracula having difficulty viewing any human as his peer. Death Mask III sees no reason to oppose the Vampire Nation's existence at this time and is fully willing to offer them up the dregs of society as long as they're discreet about it.

Frankenstein: Is a frequent collaborator with Dracula. The mad Doctor loves experimenting with the vast number of corpses that the Prince provides. He also enjoys the amount of fresh vampiric and supernatural D.N.A that is always available in his service. Dracula, in turn, relies on Frankenstein to produce all manner of nightmarish alchemical horrors to deploy against his foes. The Monsters personality of Frankenstein is repulsed by Dracula and wants to see him destroyed.

General Venom: Remembers his conflict with Dracula and is still unnerved by it. It was one of the few occasions he's encountered the supernatural and not been able to explain it away. He still believes Dracula to be dead and the revelation that this is not so would commit him to seeing it done. The revelation that the United States and the world is inhabited by vampires could also have a rather drastic effect upon his plans. Though General Venom is unlikely to just change overnight. He might just end up making a plague to wipe out their kind.

The Red King: Is aware of the existence of vampires but fully intends to destroy them, if at all possible. He considers them evolutionary dead ends and their inability to procreate is something that could theoretically destroy the genetic material needed to usher in the Metaman new age. He'd even make peace with General Venom to create a genocidal Anti-Vampirism virus if he ever discovered that his rival shared his mutual antipathy.

(Together, they might be able to do it, though it might kill thousands of Blood Slaves in the process)

Orkus: Dracula does not like to think about his relationship with Orkus. The simple reason is this, he's a bug. If ever confronted with his old master in front of others, he'll be torn between the servility expected by the Entropic Master and his own pride. If Dracula ever gives back talk to his master or fails then Orkus will finally take the rest of his soul and it will be the end of the Vampire King.

Orkus is all and all belongs to Orkus.

More the Vampire Clans of Blade.

But really, that's pretty much the Camarilla.

Oddly, the Vampire Nation was the first enemy created for HED! when it was just Fritz the Hellrider (before I found out Freedom City had used that name).

I must admit that I regard the Iron Age of Heroic Earth as a perfect opportunity to work in some pasthiches/parodies of and homages to the Old World of Darkness (In the same way I regard the City of Los Dios as an invitation to work in some Scions).

By the way take a look at the finish date of the Old World of Darkness (Not to mention Aberrant) and the Year of Orkus' Invasion - which provides a perfectly Apocalyptic cap to the homage. . .

It fits, man, it all fits!

(Well, enough for my brain to have fastened upon the connection. . .)

The Invasion of Orkus was always meant, for some extent, to be an homage to all those Final Crisis and so on "big explosion" events that comic books put out in the 21st century.

It's the dawning, really, of when player characters are expected to be involved in HUGE events and it is THE BIG EVENT that player characters are expected to involve themselves in.

Unlike the Terminus Invasion, which is something player characters can't really participate in since its in the past.

But yes, overall, I was quite impressed with this thread.

After I finish the Modern Age, I think I'm going to get back to work on the Book of Villains.

I also may start doing write-ups of characters that have been mentioned but not detailed.

(Like the Tomorrow Societies individual characters)

Hmmm. That's actually an interesting hook for the America Force One idea I PM'd you about.

The Modern Age Part IV
The World of Espionage

The world of espionage in Earth-627 is pretty damn complicated. The chief concerns in the Freedomverse are Overthrow and SHADOW plus relatively minor groups by comparison like Al-Qaeda. The situation is significantly more unstable in Earth-627 with countless hyper-technological revolutionary groups and terrorist organizations. Each of them angling for their own particular slice of the planet.

The past five years have been a roller coaster for A.E.G.I.S. to say the least. Director Harry Powers has failed in his mission as far as Jack Simmons is concerned, which is to keep himself morally clean of the kind of corruption and moral compromises that politicians would try and force on AEGIS. Director Powers would state that was JACK'S mission and not his, which is the protection of the American citizenry.

Still, AEGIS has managed to avoid much of the stink that the rest of the Bush Administration's intelligence operatives are operating under and it's reasonably sure that he's probably going to maintain his position under the new administration. Still, the current economy is one that doesn't permit a continued expansion of intelligence or military budgets in the United States of America. AEGIS recieved a massive funding increase after 9/11 and the initial Bush administration push for intelligence rewards, buying flying cars and other wonderful devices, but it's not recieved any further updates and they're expected to make due with the equipment they have currently.

This is despite the fact that SHADOW has been discovered to be still extant, which was meant to be the big justification for AEGIS's existence. Unfortunately, to be honest, it hasn't really done all that much. Harry Powers suspected what Jack Simmons would have difficulty getting, that it's been a very long time since Overshadow was having Nazis knock down people's doors. Even if he did, they've experienced the Terminus Invasion and the Grue amongst plenty of other super powered threats. It's just not the smoking gun that it used to be.

Outside of the United States borders, UNISON has been undergoing its own difficulties. The United States blanket unwillingness to cooperate with UNISON these past eight years has been a serious blow to their effectiveness in coordinating operations. Still, UNISON doesn't need the United States to operate and they have AEGIS. They've managed to since discover that Overthrow has been getting the majority of its "future-tech" from SHADOW. This doesn't reveal much about the nature of the organization or that Overthrow is just a satellite of SHADOW but is a step in the right direction.

Instead, the big problem is that already the European Union has started debating the idea that there's no reason they shouldn't have their own version of AEGIS to operate on and Vladimir Putin has already expressed that Russia can "look after its own borders." UNISON is used to threats to depower them and rely on domestic agencies but this one looks quite serious. What effect this will have on UNICORN, UNCOT, or UNIQUE is anyone's guess.

Still, if anyone can reverse it, it is undoubtedly new Director Chalcedony Johnson. The sudden promotion of her after a murderous Overthrow attack that killed the entirety of the Senior Staff at the Castle in Geneva has reinvigorated UNISON. Despite attempts to block her ascension, she's since become the "roving leader" of the group and secured her position by revealing the gross human rights abuses of UNITROL. The capture and war crimes trial of the Unifer at the Hague is still ongoing but has sent that organization into freefall.

AEGIS and the Patriots

AEGIS has a fairly cordial relationship with the Patriots and the Foundation for World Harmony. The Patriots, unlike the Tomorrow Society, are fully empowered agent of A.E.G.I.S and Harry Powers appreciates their willingness to go the extra mile to get official sanctioning. Harry rarely uses them as super-powered agents but he finds them significantly more tractable than the Freedom League. Harry is very fond of Colonel Shepherd and views the Steel Commando as something of a younger version of himself (though they aren't really that different in age).

Harry is less trusting towards Ashley Morgan, not because he thinks she has any lingering loyalty to the House of Serpents but the fact that he suspects that she might unwittingly be used by General Venom in other ways (such as latent brainwashing or using her as a precedent to send other infiltrators into high places).

AEGIS and the Foundation for World Harmony

Harry Powers has less of a problem with the Foundation for World Harmony than UNISON to some extent. Harry is all for international solidarity but he lacks much of the idealism that Jack Simmons had, instead he prefers results. The Foundation is better organized and more willing to take risks than UNISON. Dame Michelle Holmes has made extensive efforts to set up information sharing and operational licenses for both sets of agents abroad. Thus, AEGIS agents have been able to work in foreign countries and Foundation Agents have been able to bypass much of the trouble that previous administrations would have been able to deal with.

So far, it's been a very effective system.

UNISON and the Foundation for World Harmony

So what is the difference between The Foundation for World Harmony and UNISON? UNISON is the United Nations Peacekeeping force dedicated to Anti-Terrorism, Border Crossing Super Villains, Diplomacy with Aliens, Investigation of International Terrorism, and the dealing with threats to world sovereignty at the behest of the United Nations council. In other words, it delicately fills the role of the United Nations armed forces.

The Foundation for World Harmony on the other hand is the United Nation's Intelligence branch, dedicated to gathering information for the United Nations and dealing with threats to the sovereignty of its member nations. There's significant crossover between both groups and plenty of members have been loaned between the two but the Foundation is significantly more covert. Oddly, because most Foundation offices are handled within the borders of the nations, they also have greater freedom to act.

In another time, the two agencies would be merged but this isn't the period for it.

SIDE AGENCY: Meta-4

The United States Department of Defense' division for Anti-Superhuman crime, Meta-4 is a bit of a sister agency to AEGIS. Bluntly, it's also considered to be the bad guy agency of the world. Reduced to little more than a few super powered agents and Reagan holdovers by Clinton's time, the coup by the Psychotic Seven made it recieve a surge of new perosnnel and funding. Unfortunately, almost all of this was devoted to kidnapping suspected metaman terrorists, torturing suspects, and generally violating civil rights. Meta-4's embarrassment to the United States as an exempler of everything wrong with US foreign policy would take pages to describe but amount to the organization being a vessel for Anti-Metaman bigots attempting to forward an agenda.

Meta-4 has only managed to avoid being shut down thanks to the secret projection of Project: Icarus.

Harry Powers has already expressed that Meta-4 is a drain on United States resources and a blight on their national identity. He hopes that it will be shut down, not just for moral reasons, but the fact that it will spare AEGIS any further budget problems.

AEGIS Personnel

Harry Powers: Is tougher, meaner, and more hardassed than ever. He's also lost his left eye recently thanks to the efforts of a SHADOW assassin. Harry has had a cybernetic replacement installed but he wears an eyepatch to prevent people from realizing that he's scanning them with it at all times. The recent events have been hard on Harry but he's started to realize he doesn't need to be Jack Simmons and that he can take the Agency in his own direction.

Stuart Bonham: Harry's second in command, Stuart is coming to increasing heads with his Director. Bluntly, they couldn't be more different in command styles and the two now disagree on almost everything. Stuart believes Aegis should focus on being an inspiration while Harry believes they should be effective. Both are extremely moral and upstanding man but they disagree on how to best honor Jack's legacy.

Terrorist Groups and Aegis

Fourth Reich: Harry Powers on the Fourth Reich. "Nazis, I hate these guys." He's largely been continuing the policy of deploying the Patriot whenever a whiff of Count Reich II comes up. Sadly, he's starting to seriously worry about Jack's 'programming' and he fears Count Reich II may soon take advantage of his friend's difficult emotional state.

The Gene Nation:The Gene Nation is a group that Harry has little tolerance for. If it had been his call, he would have nuked Genesis Island before it started being populated with people from around the world. He also advised the world to reject clemency for the Red King and has since been vindicated. Unfortunately, it's no longer an option to advise assassination for "Emperor Mass." Instead, he hopes to simply prevent more superhumans from seeking refuge on his island and giving him an even larger super powered army.

Something that he suspects could lead to a second Psychotic Seven style coup.

The House of Serpents:The House of Serpents is something AEGIS has a long and involved history against. America Force One is Harry's preferred method for dealing with them but he's more than a little irritated that he's had to deal with TWO Presidential orders to focus on other threats than them. He's not sure he'd be able to stand a third. Harry is aware there's HOS infiltrators in AEGIS but he's actually aware who they are and what they're doing. He's more concerned about the OTHER agencies that have been infiltrated.

He'd be a LOT more concerned if he discovered the reason the Patriot may be acting so strange lately is that his damaged Android chips have recently started to come from a new contractor. The Monev Corporation (read it backwards).

UNITROL: With the capture of Unifer, Harry Powers has made a move to start grabbing as many domestic Unitrol agents as possible. He's also interested in covert actions abroad, though he's working with Dame Michelle Holmes on this as well. Harry suspects, correctly, that with their leader out of the way that they're likely to sell their vast amounts of military hardware and super-villain made tech to the highest bidder. In the meantime, UNITROL is now a mercenary army for sale and any super villain can purchase their assistance.

Harry is also watchful for attempted jailbreaks on Unifer, who was captured on United States soil and currently in AEGIS custody despite it being a UNISON operation (a major embarrassment for him even though he's just glad he's under arrest).

PHANTOM: Harry Powers would very much like to launch a "Secret War" against Ruritania, proceed to blow up all of their secret files and eradicate PHANTOM's nuclear stockpile, before then putting a bullet in Death Mask III's head. He knows, if he ever does this, that it'll be the end of his career and he'd probably be forced on the run. Still, given how dirty Harry knows that Death Mask III really is and Kenneth Kane, he's not sure it's not warranted. PHANTOM has had little traction in the United States and Harry is very much about blowing up its holdings abroad or confiscating its wealth.

Diplomatic relations with their countries be damned.

UNISON Personnel

Chalcedony Johnson: Director Chalcedony is exactly what Unison needed at exactly the right time. So far, she's managed to find 42 spies of various terrorist organizations and has managed to slash the budget costs of administration 60% while devoting that to operational costs. She's also started recruiting numerous young super humans of Europe into UNISON's ranks. Dame Michelle and Harry Powers both like her, as well. Her friendship with the Freedom League has helped her cause as well with their "international focus" now bringing prestige to both organizations. She's approached them about them officially becoming a UNISON team, though Captain Thunder is reticent.

Director Johnson is a close friend of Athena and Black Wing, with tabloids speculating that she's more than friends with both (though European tabloids, much like their American counterparts, will speculate on everything). In truth, she's always been an admirer of Divinos and he's returned that admiration. Divinos is more interested in working with Unison than AEGIS and its been something that has caused some difficulties with his fellows.

Mikos West: The new Director of American UNISON operations, Mikos has spent a good deal of his time working with Harry Powers trying to unveil SHADOW operations. Ironically, he's actually discovered more about the Labyrinth than anything else. Chalcedony is hesitant about Mikos' obsession with "The Illuminati" and other ridiculous ideas of a conspiracy several thousand years old, but already Taurus has started to notice a surreal number of reports that a Dwarf in a bowler hat has been sited around several major operations that have been broken up. Mikos has personal reasons for this, his wife was killed during Overthrow's attack on UNISON and already has a name for the man he wants to see hung for funding it.

Franklin Folkes. Ironically, Taurus' SHADOW ties are about to come bite him in the bum.

Terrorist Groups and UNISON

Fourth Reich: The Fourth Reich has always been an opponent of UNISON and will likely continue to remain such. Chalcedony's chief contribution to eliminating the threat of World Neo-Nazism is to send out agents to look for some way of finally laying the spectre of Count Reich II to rest. Eldrich has privately recommended that there might be a Half-Demon of considerable power in some obscure United States agency willing to help.

He has a history of fighting Nazis.

Count Reich's reaction to UNISON's New Director? "QUIET! I'M LISTENING TO MARLENA DIETRICH!"

The Gene Nation: UNISON would very much like to smack down the Gene Nation like the little punks they are. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen anytime soon. Genesis Island is a member of the United Nations and a lot of governments have been interested in the Red King's sly mention of the possibility that governments might use his country to "get rid of" unwanted Metamen. UNISON has already given private orders to take out their operatives when found, deciding to ere on the cause of what's right rather than what's political.

The House of Serpents: The House of Serpents is something that Chalcedony is appalled by. She thought it was a bad joke when she first heard about it but her association with Dame Holmes and Harry Powers has exposed just how large the United States' terrorism problem really was. She's redoubled efforts to deal with the organization's international activities even as its still difficult for her to honestly believe the organization is as influential as it appears to be.

General Venom, privately, is happy that she's taking a stronger stance against groups like him though is irritated how its interfering with operations. He's considering dispatching Supreme to "send a message" if she doesn't back down.

UNITROL: The capture of Unifer has resulted in the organization entering free fall. Most of its countries have since fallen into civil war, unrest, or have declared their allegiance to PHANTOM. A few have actually been fully liberated and democracy restored thanks to Chalcedony's efforts. She's recieving some unexpected and unwelcome assistance from the House of Serpents. General Venom is eager to wipe out all traces of Unifer's dream and unless he's freed, the organization is likely to be totally wiped out between their dual efforts.

It's unlikely anyone will mourn it. But so far, it remains the organization's biggest success in recent memory.

PHANTOM: The political nightmare of the Gene Nation x100. Ruritania and countless other little countries have nearly as much collected authority as a member of the U.N. Security Council. Chaledony Johnson suspects, rightly, that all of their problems lately are purely the manuverings of The Inner Council to attempt to dismantle the power structure of UNISON. In fact, he did his absolute best to block her ascension to Director.

Believing PHANTOM represents a literal threat world sovereignty as a whole, she has begun a serious "shaking down" process to find all infiltrators of that organization and privately begun coordinating efforts to find out which nations are secretly under its control. As an enemy of freedom and democracy, PHANTOM is something that must be destroyed.

Terrorist Groups and The Foundation for World Harmony

Overthrow: Dame Michelle Holmes has never actually cared all that much about Overthrow. Bluntly, she's always viewed them as a microscopic threat by comparison to organizations like PHANTOM or SHADOW. As she said to Margeret Thatcher. "Prime Minister, my chief concern is where a bunch of disgruntled French academics got themselves a brainwashing machine. Not where some pimple faced Grad Students will strike next. That's for the local authorities."

The revelation that there's ties between SHADOW and Overthrow has hurt the group's credibility but she's much more interested in what this really MEANS. Privately, she predicts there's a 75% chance that Overthrow will make an attempted break from SHADOW within the year. She intends to mop up the organization if she can when Overshadow's inevitable retailiation occurs.

SHADOW: Dame Michelle is old enough to remember Overshadow and while she'd hoped he'd finally died, his resurrection is not terribly surprising to her. She's not terribly impressed by SHADOW overall, thinking Overshadow's reliance on clones to be a tremendous weaknes (and she's correct). Privately, she's ready for Operation: Indulation two. She's been working a very long time on a bio-weapon first proposed by Jack Washington Junior during the last one....

UNITROL: Dame Michelle Holmes would never say that the death of UNISON's existing power structure was the best thing to ever happen to it, but she has to admit that she's impressed by Director Johnson's handling of the UNITROL affair. Freedom from diplomatic ties, Michelle has ordered almost a hundred individual wetworks operations against the False United Nations. While PHANTOM is eager to sweep up as much as possible, and had been privately funding the organization for years, it was a Foundation manned submarine that sunk Unifer's own headquarters.

Now, she hopes to get onboard the largely intact submarine and get the computer data inside that could expose all of UNITROL's Phantom ties.

Excellent work Charles. :D

As always I've a few quibbles - I find it a bit optimistic of the World to dismiss SHADOW as a relatively minor threat - but you always do good work.

I will post more detailed thoughts when I find the right opportunity.
