Now that I'm done with my latest novel, I have free time to scribble. I'm not necessarily in anyone's league here, but it's fun being able to scratch out some drawings.

For July 4, I present my favorite patriotic superheroine build Armada.

And following up, my experimental idea of Dragonclaw, the man with the Dragon arm.

More and more to come.

These are pretty neat concepts MorningKnight - are these raw pencils or pens? A bit of extra work on your anatomy will have these looking pretty cool - I think Dragonclaws posture should also reflect that huge frikken arm!
Looking forward to seeing more...

Pens over erased pencils.

Dragon Claw was more a case of showing off the costume. I'm thinking he'd usually spend a bit of time leaning on that arm.

I've had the pleasure of seeing these on DA and if I may say so, they show definite progress from your earlier posts. Good stuff MK.

It's lack of practice. I used to have great drawing muscles and such in my teens, then stopped regularly drawing for a long time.

Imagine if I had more than a 6x9 sketch diary to work with...

One of the great things about drawing is the more you do it, the more you discover you can do that you couldn't before.
You have a good strong line and a keen eye for design.
Keep it up!

It works for my writing so it should work for your art as well!

If you need writing style to crib from, I'm well versed in neo-pulp gun porn.

I really like where these are going, Morningknight. As Shinobi said, your anatomy needs work, but that's really not too hard to pick up. If you can, take a figure drawing class or get some good art instruction books. If you can't do those, take your 6 x 9 drawing journal out and fill it with any and everything you can draw (I'm filling one with cars and buildings at the moment, because I suck at drawing those).

As has been said, and will likely be said over and over, the best practice for drawing is to draw. If you constantly look to get better, you will. The only real worry in drawing is being satisfied. Once you're satisfied, you stop getting better.

Beyond that, your concepts are great. I can't wait to come back in a month, a season, or a year and see where you've gone with them. =)

Thanks, Agent.

On Pen-Gi, my girlfriend said it best - she looks like a man with thunder thighs.

Thing is, I don't want to draw too much boob. You know?

I had some really bad cartooning habits back in the day.

Had some time to sit at the doctor's office today. So, I started scribbling on my clipboard of recycle paper.

YAY!

I might have to 'shop in some skin texture later.

The head feels wrong to me... and maybe the legs are too short. It might just be the hat and bubble goggles.

My favorite piece of work for the day. Static pin-ups are me trying to do my costume designs, but this was pure fun. Plus, it helps demonstrate Power Glove's "elongation" for his Strike/Grapple.

I might have to clean that build up a teeny bit to give him Enhanced Strength.
