-Sue Storm started out a pretty sexist concept, really. A girl more obsessed with haircuts than the latest crime, she pouted when Reed wouldn't pay attention to her, and wilted in the arms of super-villains and half-naked seamen. It got progressively better as time went on, until John Byrne (perhaps taking a bit of the fetish for strong women from his X-Men co-writer) finalized it, by terming her the Invisible WOMAN, and amping her force field powers into basically an invisible Green Lantern Ring. Suddenly, she became a super-powerful den mother, unafraid to absolutely SCHOOL the villains of the day. It's pretty much well-established these days that Sue is BY FAR the most powerful and useful member of the team, and the VERY LAST one that you want to piss off.
-Sue was the initial uber-pin-up babe of the Silver Age of Marvel Comics, and that's something that occasionally gets dropped by the wayside. I guess it had to happen, in the era of swimsuit costumes and asian super-heroines, but every once in a while, they remind you that she's supposed to be pretty, drop-dead style. The "Reed is Dead, So I Guess I'll Wear a Super-Bikini" era is a good example of that, but it's usually the protective Mama Bear thing that pulls off "teh sexay" these days. Hey, Moms can be hot too, dammit. Especially when being all protective and angry (remember what she did to Taskmaster when he hurt Reed in Civil War? Yowza).
-Yay, PL 11 (165)! Ultra-competent, but not TOO competent. Like the rest of the FF, she has lots of Skills and a few Feats to back her up, and it's all about the very diverse, Dynamic, hard-to-see Array for her. Snares, Blasts, Objects, and the classic Force Field make her the most versatile of the Foursome, which helps fit the "Most Powerful" conception. Where the rest of it comes in is her array of Complications and her high Will Save. IF YOU SCREW WITH FRANKLIN.... well, you better kiss your sorry ass goodbye, and that's that. Sue likes to play her Hero Points, let's just say that- her KOing the Hulk, and breaking open a friggin's Celestial's power armour are enough proof of that.

-My favourite FF member and yours, it's The Thing! Surprisingly, the ugly, cranky Benjamin J. Grimm came across as the most 'human' of a team of stereotypes (super-scientist, flouncy broad & hot-rodding teen goof-off), and that dichotomy (the ugliest & weirdest being the most emotional and human) carried the character for years. The fact that he was strong, but not THAT strong, defined an entire STYLE of Marvel hero (Thor & Hulk were in the thousands of tons range- but The Thing led to a legion of others in the "Class 50-100" ton range instead). Think about it: Warpath, Strong Guy, Colossus- pretty much all the minor-level "Team Strong Guy" types owe a TON to Ben, along with Blok of the LOSH, and the various other sub-par strong types that DC's used over the years.

-And hell, how can you beat "This Man, This Monster"? One of the most pathos-inducing comics ever, and one not even prone to the usual goofy-ass 60s writing of Stan The Man. THAT comic is a picture-perfect example of Stan 'n' Jack at their individual finest, uniting into a combo never matched. The poor guy gets turned human finally, but just before he visits the woman he loves with a REAL body, he gets turned back (as the one-note nameless scientist at the beginning of the story dies heroically, realizing the good nature of Reed Richards all along). That and various other instances (losing various girlfriends to supervillains & cosmic naked dudes, always being the lesser to The Hulk in their fights, getting his face slashed uber-90s style by Wolverine) have made him one of Marvel's most popular Team Guys. Though unable to carry his own series basically ever, Ben remains one of the top faces in Marvel, which has always relied more on Team Books & family dynamics to sell than the more "Big Name" DC solo characters.
-The Thing is a fair bit better than your usual Brick/Powerhouse. Warpath, Colossus, Strong Guy, etc. are all PL 10 (150) guys. Ben matches them exactly in Strength (34 is perfect for his level, in my opinion), but he has the accuracy of a normal fighter-type hero instead of taking a hit like the others do, meaning he's the best fighter of the crew. The fact that his Will Save is in the Captain America range (he's fought Thundra, The Hulk & The Champion and will NEVER give up, no matter what) helps him out greatly, alongside his REALLY big array of Feats for such a Powerhouse (most +12 Damage types don't have Accurate or Defensive Attack).

-Here's Ben in his temporary-but-beloved Spikey Thing era. He underwent the Cosmic Ray Treatment AGAIN somehow, and ended up with a SUPER-SIZED version of his old powers, becoming more akin to The Hulk than his regular ol' self. Never read too many issues with this appearance, but he was probably a bit slower (apparently he fought Grey Hulk once, who beat him using "Thing Tactics" against the bigger, slower Ben), so he's only a mild PL 12, more like PL 11.5.

If it makes you feel better, it was stopped :P

And very nice Things. He's always been one of my favourite Marvel characters, simply because he's very three-dimensional compared to a lot of superheroes.

And beats people up. That's cool too.

Don't worry, it was a brief (90s, of course, in era) thing they did when Reed was presumed dead and Sue went into a mid-life crisis and decided to dress like an Image tramp for a while. Later writers have since made fun of it for being so Iron Age.

-Sharon Ventura was a semi-recurring FF character for a while, joining the team during one of it's many periodic roster-shuffles to keep the book 'new and interesting' during the period when it fell from second-most-popular (after Spidey), to FAR from that level once the 80s hit. Thing's girlfriend from his UWF wrestling phase, she was imbued with the same Cosmic Rays that befell Ben, and ended up in a feminine version of his original comics form, a lumpy orange humanoid instead of a pure rock-being. She didn't appreciate the change, though the two were still together despite all that. Then she went the way of every other ugly comic heroine (seriously, when are they going to learn that?), and disappeared, joining Dr. Doom so he'd help Ben change back to human or something.
-Basically a much lower-level Ben Grimm, with worse accuracy and Feats & Skills, in spite of equal power. So she's a weak PL 10.

-Figured I'd fill a space with a D-league villain I left out of my "Marvel Villains" listing- The Eel! This is actually the second guy, as I guess they realized you can't just grow recurring, recognizable terrible D-league cannon fodder villains on trees (notice how there's like three Blizzards, all of whom suck?). Yet another 1960s character that just never went anywhere, thanks to a generic Animal-themed gimmick (and not a Spidey-like one from Ditko either!), this guy nowadays only shows up in a serious context if there's like five other bad guys with him.
-Eel is a PL 9 only barely, going on the defensive (where he specializes). His Aura is OK, and his Blast is standard PL 8 stuff, but he's trickier in close, where he's impossible to grapple effectively, and can shock you out of it anyways.

-And yes, it's a major milestone with my builds... BUILD #1000!!

-So yeah, figured that it was funny enough that a legit Batman build (short of the Golden Age version) has yet to be statted by me, what with 999 other guys getting write-ups, so here he is. But not just ANY Batman... I went with the TV show version, from the greatest animated series in history that doesn't feature a yellow family of icons. Seriously, that show had it ALL- brilliant writing, epic pacing, fantastic backdrops & animation, not to mention reinventing such a huge portion of that Bat-verse that it's STILL getting lip-service from modern writers.
-The Batman as he appeared in that series is for my money the greatest version ever seen: Grim, but not hopeless. Determined, but not obsessed to the point of hating everyone. Skilled, but not the uber-God of war that's undefeatable. One of my favourite Batman-defining moments was the time he came CRASHING through some old lady's window, coming to his senses, then turning back to smirk at her before he left- showing you the Bat-humour. Plus, he actually used his DETECTIVE SKILLS. He didn't just punch stuff into a computer and read the results all the time (though there was a bit of that); he searched for clues, he dusted for prints, and he dug up dirt on people like no other hero has ever done.
-AND THE ART STYLE!! How do you top the Bruce Timm goodness? Dark backgrounds, iconic representations of EVERY CHARACTER, the massive police vans, the curvaceous good & bad girls, the dirty-looking crooks, etc. Everything was perfect.
-Batman in the Animated Series roughly fits a PL 10 in my mind. He's an extremely good fighter, but not super-human. Five or six mooks in hand-to-hand is actually a CHALLENGE, not a joke, and he can't just whip his entire Rogue's Gallery's ass in five seconds with ancient ninjitsu powers. Still, +15 Attack is REALLY high, so it's enough for most anyone. I cheaped out on the Equipment a bit by making the Batmobile AP off the Plane, but hell, he barely ever used the damn plane, and he couldn't use both at once, so it counts! Benefit (Wealth) takes care of the rest.
-This Batman is still the Stealth King (all the Skills needed for it, plus various Feats like Hide in Plain Sight), as well as using more Skill Points than any other character I've ever built. But really, IT'S BATMAN, there's no arguing he hasn't shown each and every one of them. This makes him probably more competent than his entire Rogue's Gallery, as well as better at fighting when combined with his other stats, but hell, he beat them every single time, so it makes perfect sense.
