:arrow: This is the start of what I imagine to be a rather extensive project. I always thought that the Centurions were a cool concept and I have most of the toys stashed away in a box somewhere. :roll:

What you see here is a base-line prototype for a Centurion. I envision a team of operators that can act globally. Each country could sent a person (or persons) to be part of the Centurions. The UN would over-see the entire project. Each Centurion would have access to any and all of the combat systems and so each "Centurion" would become an army unto themselves.

Keep an eye here for updated material and hopefully a build for each of the suits. :shock:

Awesome I had those guys too! That show was actually pretty good especially the storyline where they were all on the run from the big bad who had taken over the world.

Very nice! I'd debated about doing a set of builds for the Centurions but hadn't gotten anywhere near starting researching about them. (I didn't see too many of the shows growing up).

This looks very interesting, I'll be keeping an eye out for your builds on them. :D

This is an "alternate reality" version, that is set in the M&M world. Now I present the ...

Centurions

The Centurion Project was brought into existance by global outcry. The United Nations wanted to create a peacekeeping force that did not rely on the "supers". Ordinary men and women would be trained and equiped with advanced combat systems that would allow them to operate in virtually any enviroment and at different levels of response. The project was dubbed... the Centurions.

The entire idea started with the invention of a the Modular Combat Systems Exo-Frame. Professor Kane designed an exo-frame suit that granted the wearer enhanced strength and protection as well as allowing advanced combat systems to attach to them. The combat systems provide the power for the frame and the exo-frame adjusts the strength enhancement so that the wearer is able to handle the combat system as if it were not an encumberance.

With the exo-frame and the use of a teleporter system. The Centurions could be sent anywhere in the world and given the weapons that they need to handle any situation.

A large orbiting space station was placed into orbit, from which the operations of the Centurions could be monitored and the combat systems could be deployed. The space station, dubbed the Sky Vault, holds most of the weapons used by the Centurions. If there is a need for a combat system that is "out of stock" then the system is 'beamed' from secret warehouses elsewhere.

Professor Kanes' daughter, Krystal was given the position of Systems Operator and commands Sky Vault One.

Now that I have gotten a handle on things.. I am going to start building the weapons systems. I have looked at all the units and I have come to the following decisions.

* All of the weapon systems have been broken into three (3) groups

LIGHT
> Fire Force (Land)
> Sky Knight (Air)
> Crusier (Water)
> Electro Charger (Energy)
> Silent Arrow (Covert Ops)

MEDIUM
> Hornet (Land-Air)
> Wild Weasel (Land)
> Orbital Interceptor (Air)
> Strato Strike (Air)
> Tidal Blast (Water)
> Sea Bat (Water)
> Thunder Knife (Covert)

HEAVY
> Dominator (Land)
> Awesome Auger (Land)
> Skybolt (Air)
> Depth Charger (Water)
> Gatling Guard (Energy)

__________________________________________________

* Light units will equate to small arms and man-carried weapons. (IE: machine guns and Rifles, etc etc)

* Medium Units will be the 'work horses' of the equipment. (They are most frequently seen in the show).

* Heavy units will be the 'tanks' of the arsenal. They will be built with the full 105 pts of the equipment pool. The others will obviously not cost as much.

Having said that..... LET THE BUILDS BEGIN!!!!

FIRE FORCE

Image

* Twin Laser (Blast) [8]
Standard attachment on the right forearm

* Plasma Accelerator (Blast) [10]
(EX) Area: Blast
Standard attachment on the backpack and folds over the right shoulder

* Plasma Repulser (Blast) [5]
(EX) Autofire +2
Standard attachment on the center of the torso

*Targeting Computer (Enhanced Feats) [3]
[Accurate Attack, Attack Focus: Ranged +2]
Standard attachment on the left shoulder

*Helmet (device) [3]
> Immunity: Breathing [1]
> Immunity: Visual Dazzle Effects [5]
> Communication (2000 miles) [8]
(PF) Subtle (Super-encryption)
Standard attachment: worn on head

___________________________________________

:arrow: Here is the first weapons system that I stat'd out. This is the standard weapon system deployed by Jake Rockwell (Land Operations).

I opted to stat each item up on a line instead of lumping the weapons together in an array. I guess that I could have but I thought that since I have the 105 pts to spend... might as well use them.

I did not include the power amplification backpack (granting the exo-frames ability to handle the weapons) I figure that this is a role-play conept more than a roll-play item, so I opted to leave it out.

Any suggestions or comments???

What's the area on the Twin Laser? Line, perhaps?

I have always thought of Blast as having a default area of line.

Yeah.. the area would be line.

I do like how you statted up each part of the weapons system seperatly. It fits IMO since I recall a couple times that the guys traded out parts of the normal set ups of weapons systems for other weapons for a special situation.

It looks like it works very well. Nice work.

HORNET

HORNET Weapon System

Image

Targeting Computer (Enhanced Feat) [3]
* Accurate Attack
* Attack Focus (Ranged) [+2]
* Communication (2000 miles) [8]
(PF) Subtle (Super-encryption)
Housed within the chest-mounted unit.

Sidewinder Missles (Blast) [10] - DC:25:tough
(EX) Area: Explosion
(PF) Homing +2
(FLAW) Limited Shots (6 Shots)
Mounted on various hard-points. One on each leg, Two on each side of the main flight unit

Freeze Ray (Cold Control)
Blast (Cold) [10] - DC:25:tough
>Linked<
Drain Toughness [10] - DC:20:fort
>Linked<
Snare [10] - DC:20:ref
Mounted on the chest unit.

Flight [8]
Back-mounted unit. Engine for the rotor-blades and thrusters.
____________________________________________________

:arrow: This is the flight unit for Jake Rockwell (Land Operations). This is also interestingly enough the only unit that crosses the division of expertise. Jake actually could use a unit to fly, which was Ace's specialty.

:arrow: As with Fire Force, I tried to stay loyal to the original toy/concept. I had worked up the Sidewinders and then added the Freeze Ray. I linked all the effects into one nasty blast. I originally built it as an array, but I felt this was a better build.

Any comments?
