Description:


The Black Cavalier appears as a large man of African descent, dressed in what appears to be a pitch black version of a Civil War Cavalry uniform…whether it is Confederate or Union depends, it seems, upon the viewer. He is attractive, and compelling, but his face is usually covered by a black bandana over his mouth and nose, and an officer’s slouch hat drawn down to shade his eyes.
Where he comes from, and where he goes, are mysterious, but he roams the West, righting wrongs, and striking for freedom.

His pistol, sword, and officers coat are magically enhanced, and allow him to harm ghosts as easily as he harms mortals. Vampires and werewolvesd alike fear his silver bullets, and the blood he spills with the black sabre heals his wounds.

Some say he fought for the South. Some say he fought for the North. He doesn't say. He just rides on, to where he is needed next.

Father Enrique, called by the Hispanic peoples of the West Padre Tempestad (Father Storm), is a devout Catholic priest and Christian Theurgist, called to fight evil on the Frontier. The lightning of God’s swift sword answers his call, and is nearly irresistable. Note that it can, because of indirect, strike from directly above or behind the foe.

Father Guerrero wears the long black coat and clerical collar of a Catholic priest. He displays his crucifix proudly, and wears a carefully trimmed salt and pepper beard and shoulder length hair.

His Connected and Contacts feats require ritual to use, and represet contacting saints and angels for information or assistance.

When you say Flaw-Requires Latin Prayer, what do you mean exactly? Does this increase the Action it takes to use his powers, or does it mean he can't use them when he can't pray, or both? Because if its just a Power Loss when unable to Pray, that doesn't seem worth a Flaw.

It's not just a power loss. He has to pray the whole time, in Latin. Technically, I suppose, the flaw is Check Required (Know: Theology). I should have *also* given him Power Loss: When Unable to pray in Latin, probably. I'll fix it.

The Exile is a Fae Lord, formerly of the Unseelie Court, banished for actions even they considered abominable. What sorts of things one must do to be considered abhorrent by the Dark Court, I leave to your imagination.

His powers of illusion are astounding, able to harm those who believe in them, even unto death (the Linked Blast is basically the Damaging extra, pulled out so as to be an array for differing effects.) His powers of creation are less impressive, but still useful.

His sword is made of solidified basilisk venom, and poisons the wound, damaging the opponent again later. His hauberk of weird silk and strange scales protects him even from iron, allows him to assume a human form, warns him of danger, and makes him less likely to be hit in a vital spot.

The Exile is a terrifying foe…his schemes are as dark as they come, and nearly as enigmatic as those of a Thing From Outside time…for the Fae are from the dreaming places at the edge of reality, near indeed to the Unreal…

Cold Iron is his only real weakness...although the ringing of church bells will cause him some distraction.

The Exile is a cool characater.... Sounds like he would be a nasty foe to go against. Is he designed for the regular M&M Universe or the Fantasy setting?

He's built for my Barrow setting...horror M&M, really. I don't have W&W yet.

He'd fit in just as well in a fantasy setting, I'd imagine, however.

Hmmm. . . you know those stats for the Black Cavalier would work perfectly for the Lone Ranger analogue of Charles Phipps HED! Universe (I think that I may actually like that name better than the Hanged Rider). :oops:

Lung Deng is basically traveling up and down in the Earth in the Old West, like Kwai Chang Cain. He’s a Shaolin Monk, working to protect the Chinese people of the West…and other innocents as well. He’s also only about 4’10”, and maybe 19. He’s always calm, quiet, and peaceful. He dresses in a fashion appropriate to the place and situation…he very rarely wears the classic ‘Shaolin’ garb…but when he does, his is red, trimmed in gold.

Scheusel is a stitched together person, made from a number of corpses. Larger than a man, much heavier, this ugly thing was made in a Nazi laboratory by Dr. Hans Maximillian Frankenstein, a descendant of the original Doctor Frankenstein. The notes of the original were used, and the abomination created was similar.

Sent into battle again and again, against the likes of Sgt. Savage and Major Courage, Scheuzel (whose name means zombie, or monster) died over and over again, but always rose again. Its repeated deaths have left it tainted with the cold of the grave, which sucks the heat out of the air around it wherever it goes.

it has little personality, except, apparently, a love of killing… and a strange tendency to listen to classical music, as well as an inexplicable kindness to small animals, despite their often poor reaction to it.

Revised and updated version...yes, he's underpointed.

Manny is a Cuban American teen from Miami, recently admitted to the Vanguard Academy for Parahuman Youths. He's light purple in color, slim,and bald...he has ten (or so) tentacles he can retract and hide under his clothes, but being purple is enough to cause him social issues. Especially light purple. He manifested his metahuman abilities just six months ago, after being stung, almost to death, by a Portuguese man-o-war while swimming. He used to be on the swim team and the wrestling team, and was just learning to skate and surf. He's 14, and painfully macho and straight...which, again, causes him trouble when you consider his skin tone and build.

The Vanguard Academy for Parahuman Youths

This is a recently started initiative, partially funded by the UN, the US Government, and others, especially Bronze Industries and the Bernlad Consortium. Its purpose is to give young metahumans a safe learning environment, and provide the next generation of heroes for extra-normal threats. It is based in the small town of St. Augustine, Florida, near the much larger Jacksonville. It was chosen because it's *not* a metahuman hotspot, not a place with a lot of metahuman crime...although Jacksonville has more than its fair share of unsolved murders, so maybe they just don't have enough heroes or experienced cops to know what's going on. St. Augustine, though, is peaceful...well, it was until they publicly put a metahuman academy there. We'll see how that turns out.

There is a friendly rivalry between the Academy and its 'elder sibling' the Dare Institute...who else are they going to play sports against? Admittedly, some of the sports include team powered MMA, in addition to soccer and baseball...

The Academy has taken over the old Castillo de San Marcos, but much of the facility is underground.

School uniforms, by the way, are blue and gold.
