•This is a build that I've been wanting to tackle for a while. But I wanted to wait to see Rulk in action for some time. Seeing as how its been two years, I like how he turned out. PL 12, which puts him on par with my Thor build. He should have a 50/50 shot against Thor at any time. The Hulk, on the other hand, should usually win.

•With more information on the Red Hulk, and who he really is, I felt comfortable with this build. He has only used the Drain a few times, but enough for it not to be chalked up to Fiat or a power-stunt. As for how he fared against the Hulk (the whole 'madder he gets, hotter he gets' thing) I call that Extra Effort and the resultant Fatigue. He had just fought the new Abomination, Hulk, Thor, and then Hulk again. Boy was tired. No need to bog him down with Auras with side effect. He can take away energy (Gamma radiation, cosmic energy, whatever) and then use Boost. Note that said Boost can break his caps, and that's intentional. Need him to fight Thor, but lose? Use this build as is. Want him to school Goldilocks? Have him drain some gamma radiation from-I don't know, a failed hulk clone or something. There's enough of them running around after all.

•I should have a build of Rulk's Normal Identity up in a little while too. Probably have the same base Abilities, maybe some more skills, and some Feats.

Man, that Rulk identity reveal was...something. It's not often I'm actually right on something like this, but it was exactly who I thought it was. It was the She-Rulk reveal that actually took me off guard.

Nice Rulk. I actually have been getting a kick out of War of the Hulks. Spider Hulk cracked me up!

Yep, I don't think it's really a spoiler anymore with that. When you type in Red Hulk, it takes you right to said person's Wiki page instead of the old Red Hulk page.

But to be nice, in case someone is REALLY trying to stay surprised, they are..

Thunderbolt and Betty Ross, just like I thought in the first place!

They did a decent job of keeping suspense up for something that wasn't that big of shock in the first place. The signs were all around, especially in Rulk's inner monologues throughout Fall of The Hulks.

I think you should let you Rulk and Thor rumble, Eld. 8)

It has been a while since I did a playtest. I'll take another look at my Thor build, and then set it up maybe.

•An original character, Legionary here is an NPC from my PbP. Again, I mostly just started with the name and went from there. He's strong enough to be a decent solo hero (most PL 10 characters are) but his Duplication makes him insanely overpowered. The fact that he fits in at points should not fool you-GMs, don't let a character play someone like this. 10 PL 10s under the control of one player is bad enough, but its got worse for my players cause he's on a team. He's not a groundbreaking build aside from the Duplication but give him a few turns to pop out dupes and the Legionaries can fight high-level opponents, lift massive weights, and be as effective as, well 10 paragons.

•I've built this guy like 3, maybe four times now, not gonna say a lot about him. He's based on Rolo from Code Geass and Fatman from MGS2 (hence the name). His power is shamelessly broken (Under the No Save Extra, it says it shouldn't apply to Toughness Saves or effects that always hit, like Areas), but so is the character he's based on. His power maybe should be Reaction instead of Free Action, and I might go change that on Rolo's sheet (this build is really a mismash of my Rolo build and Snowman's Fatman build, with a few tweaks) but as is, he's powerful enough. If he needs to, Villain Point to Paralyze as a Reaction.

•Personality/tactics. He's a creepy nine-teen year old obsessed with bombs and clocks, with the power (not sure how he got it, let's say...magic?) to stop one's sense of time, effectively Paralyzing one. The power's effects don't last (not that it makes a difference, since its No Save) but how it works is, he uses the power, you're frozen, he does something, and all the while, since its Subtle, you don't know what happened. It seems like he's teleporting more than anything else. But he ain't, he just freezes you, walks up, puts a bomb on your chest, and glides away on his wheel-shoes (another nod to Fatman). I guess he gets the Drawback (not effective against Constructs) but does it really make a difference?

•Crusader is another NPC for my PbP game, he's the Resident Superman analog. Super-Strong, Super-tough, Super-Fast. Overpointed, but not by too much, his Skills are pretty low, but with Quickness 12 (letting him take 20 10,000 times faster) he can get by pretty well at classic hero stuff-seeing things out of the ordinary, spying criminals about to hold up pretty damsels, that kind of thing. And then, at PL 14, he has the sheer oomph to do something about it. Not too tough, but with a few extra Hero Points and Ultimate Toughness, it would take something at rank 22 to stun him. Oh, yeah, he's a bad-arse. He's not as boy-scouty as Supes, hence the low Diplomacy but high Intimidate. He's been active enough on his own world that people know he's a good guy (Status), and also know to get out of his way if he gets mad. A strong combatant, good fun hero type, with minor trimming, he'd make a fine starting PL 14 character.

Cool originals Eld! But I'm curious, they all seem to have a weakness to Prometheus X. Is there a connection between superhumans because of this element?

Well, on the world they come from, Prometheus X is sort of like Kryptonite, but it affects more than just one race of aliens-nearly one in every twenty superhumans are affected by it to some degree. No one's really sure why. That's why Crusader loses his powers and can die from it, but Legionary would keep his powers while it was killing him.

I guess I could give them Vulnerability (Prometheus energies) but I probably won't. Not a lot of Superman builds have vulnerability (Kryptonite descriptor).

•From Prototype, Cross, also known as the Specialist, is a mid-level boss who actually gets a fair amount of characterization. He's a perfect lieutenant type for all kinds of villains, or could serve as an ally if the heroes work for or with the government. He's a skilled soldier, talented officer, and is outfitted with enough cutting-edge gear and experience to go toe-to-toe with superhumans.

•At PL 10, Cross isn't a match for Alex Mercer (whenever I get around to building him), but he's good enough to give him a decent fight, and he starts with one Villain Point. He should also have the Complication (Must let enemy know he's reloading) although I didn't want to give him a Drawback for having to reload in the first place.

Cylcops 3E is a simple build, and an iconic one, so I made him my first third edition build. Hopefully I'll get the chance to test him out soon.

Man, you guys must read a helluva lot faster than me! I'm just now getting to the Powers section of the DCA book.

Nice 3E Cyclops. I think he's one of the few fairly iconic characters that you can make playable PP fairly easy with the new Skill PP cost and Power structures. I'm not saying it can't be done (because we'll do it) I just think it's going to be trickier for the big guns.
