any changes i make to the 3rd ed design process will go here

Impervious toughness - instead of being an awkwardly worded extra, its a 1 pp per rank power unto itself. this is supported by it being applied to characters in the back of the DCA rulebook

The Hellfire Club

yes, the ultra-hot social elite bad boys of Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, and their newest member, Kitty Pryde, as seen in X-Men: Misfits, which reinterprets the X-mythos under the grenre of shojo manga. heck, i'll throw in some of the other students as well (and maybe one of the professors). If jabroniville's up for it, once they're done i'd like to pit the Club against his New Mutants.

the first 5 people unfamiliar with this picture to correctly guess the identity of one the boys (besides angel, upper left) fawning over kitty gets to name the build of their choice.

- i repeat, if you've read the book this picture is from or are otherwise familiar with it, please refrain from guessing.
- one try per poster
- multiple guesses are allowed, but only 1 successful guess per winner (so no, you can't sweep the contest)
- no using google/wiki/etc. to research the series, blind guesses only.
- offer expires once i start posting them. but in the interest of fairness, I'll wait until friday, and work on other builds in the meantime

Relationship (Bobby Drake): she's developed feelings for the aloof 'Iceman', and the attraction may be mutual, if unspoken.

:arrow: and here we have Kitty Pryde, main heroine of X-men Misfits, a 15 year old girl dealing not only with her newfound mutancy, but being the first girl at the Xavier Academy in years. she's done a bit of growing since her enrollment, such as realizing her 'freinds' in the Hellfire Club are a bunch of spoiled jerks who saw her more as a pet/mascot than a freind, to say nothing of her should-be-Ex-boyfreind, Pyro. but it's not all bad, she's made real freinds with Kurt, Scott and Fred, and maybe more with Bobby. so on a whole she's looking forward to coming back in the fall... mostly.

:arrow: pretty straight up conversion, drawing from Jabroniville's rookie wolfsbane build, ironicly enough (the master has become the pupil), so that means Kitty's your average high school girl, with the exception that she can walk through walls

:arrow: faceman & de facto leader of the hellfire club (the xavier academy's social elite, Warren (he prefers his 'Mutant Name' of Angel) is a bit of a far cry from his canon self, being more ye spoiled upper class snob than defender of a world that hates and fears him. if anything, The Hellfire Club ideals are more in line with that of Professor Lensherr/Magneto: handsome, rich, and empowered above the rules.

:arrow: that said, while Angel shares the clubs sense of entitlement, he's more a hedonist than a future supervillain, and would probably prefer anything over a fight.

:arrow: that said, while misfits is light on combat, i geared warren to his niche, a defensive flier who prefers using social-fu and aerobatics to confuse the clubs enemies.

:arrow: And here we have the most visible of the Xavier Academy, Dr. Henry "hank" McCoy, nickamed 'Doctor Beast' by the student body, who handles both maths and biology classes.

:arrow: dr. McCoy also demonstrates how power-growth can work in the misfit-verse, having started his tenure as merely stocky and human-looking, before his powers advanced far enough to turn him into a big, fuzzy, blue teddy bear (providing subtle differences to other versions of Beast). unlike professor rasputin, dr. McCoy cannot resume his human form (or, like a certain librarian, may just enjoy looking like My Teacher Totoro).

:arrow: Scott's a far cry from the team leader he may one day become, but he's got potential, rallying some students together when the Hellfire Club's antics start going too far.

:arrow: you may have noticed he's not attached to a certain redhead or blonde. well, emma isn't mentioned in Misfits, and Professor Grey is on leave during its' events (and this scott is such a stick in the mud i doubt a teacher/student affair would develop)

just an update on the hellfire club contest, i'm extending the deadline for a bit, or at least until i get s'more guesses/entries.

I'm not sure what clues i can give out, as i can be pretty bad with them...ah

- one has a totally hot sister
- 3 were created by chris claremont
- two have had supervillain careers
- 3 have been x-men
- one isn't a mutant
- at least 3 of them have died (they got better)

Okay, the hellfire club contest is now unfortunately closed, after it was pointed out to me that aside from angel, there's no real way to tell the boys apart or guess at their natures.

:arrow: just a regular mutant here in the misfits verse, Longshot's clearly got a planner career as a fashion designer, and is something of a ditz (he goes full 'sparkly idealistic anime eyes' at the mere thought of accessorising a planned ensemble for kitty with an ovesized ball of yarn.) but, of the club, he's a pretty okay guy, clearly there just for the perks and his freindship with havok.

With the new way Precise Attack work in 3E, does Longshot's apply to Ranged Attacks against Cover, or concealment?
