Disability:
Darkmantles are mute and have no hands.
Darkmantles are small subterranean magical beasts that lurk along the ceilings of cave, caverns, and buried ruins. Like bats, they use their body to hang upside-down for long periods of time. In natural surroundings, they conceal themselves among hanging stalactites. When living creatures pass below the darkmantles, these creatures swoop down and envelop their prey. Before they attack, the darkmantles use a natural ability to generate darkness as a means to confuse their targets. The darkmantles are not bothered by this darkness, as they can rely on their echolocation to target their prey.

A darkmantle is about 4 feet long from the tips of its tentacles to the top of its head. It weighs about 30 pounds.

DEFENSE
Dodge
6, Fortitude 7, Parry 7, Toughness 8, Will 6

POINTS
Abilities 44 + Advantages 7 + Defenses 14 + Powers 91 + Skills 19 = 175 Total

COMPLICATIONS
Enemy: Angels and other good celestial beings.
Obsession: Babaus delight in causing slowly-induced suffering in others.
Power Loss: Impervious Toughness; not vs. cold iron weapons or holy attacks. The demon loses its Impervious Toughness and cannot use its powers against anyone who invokes the creature’s True Name.
Weakness: Holy objects and locations.
The babau are the assassins of the demon ranks. They delight in murder and sadism; their stealth setting them apart from their more overt demon-kin. They take pride in devising means of slowly killing their targets, inflicting the greatest amount of pain while staving off death – and thus the end of the suffering – of their victims.

A babau appears to be a skeletal humanoid beast. Its skin is stretch taught over the demon’s wiry frame. The skull-like head of the babau is distinctively arrayed with a singular curved horn at its back. The body of the demon constantly oozes a caustic blood-like secretion.

Enemy:
Angels and other good celestial beings.
Obsession: Destruction.
Power Loss: Impervious Toughness; not vs. cold iron weapons or holy attacks. The demon loses its Impervious Toughness and cannot use its powers against anyone who invokes the creature’s True Name.
Weakness: Holy objects and locations.
Balor are living engines of destruction. They are demons wreathed in flesh and fire; true nightmares to behold. These huge demons slay living creatures and demons alike with impunity, desiring nothing more than to destroy anything and everything they see with wanton abandon. In the rare instances when demons amass an army, balors act as the generals of the demonic hordes.

Even the gods fear the sheer amount of destruction a single balor can inflict. Many of these creatures have been sealed away in divinely crafted prisons far below the surface of the world or hidden in extradimensional spaces.

Occasionally, a new balor will erupt from the Abyss when a great number of mortals are slain all at once. Few are willing to truly slay a balor, for the deed may cost a hero their own life. When a balor dies, its body erupts with chaotic energy, destroying everything around it with explosive fury.

A balor appears to be a massive demon, standing well over 14 feet tall and weighing 4,500 pounds. They have bestial heads crowned with jagged horns and a pair of bat-like wings adorned with rows of spines and spikes. Their entire body is wreathed with burning fire. Balors always carry a pair of weapons: a lightning bolt-shaped sword and a flaming whip used to capture victims and drag them into the flames generated by the demon’s body.

That surely is a major demon, even a little too much the sheer amount of avaible powers outweight by far the simple PL (I always felt this way about the big guns of D&D).

Power Loss: Impervious Toughness; not vs. cold iron weapons or holy attacks. The demon loses its Impervious Toughness and cannot use its powers against anyone who invokes the creature’s True Name.
Weakness: Holy objects and locations.
A dretch is the least powerful of demonkind, although still a deadly foe to any mortal creature. While pathetic creatures, they are thoroughly wicked and possess a driving need to cause dismay and ruin. Dretches usually gather in large mobs which they use to overwhelm their victims. Singularly, these demons are rather cowardly.

A dretch appear to be an ape-like creature with extended forearms ending in clawed hands. They stand about 4 feet tall and weigh 60 pounds.
