Ill grant you that no problem. But the generalization in that regard is that the weakness persay lies in their lack of intelligence and magic power as opposed to their more powerful brothers and sisters.

if you read the Monsters manuals the size is generally given as roughly the same or at least is never specifically mentioned as being different between the various breeds. it just strikes me as odd that 2 dragons one red one white same size same age the red would be stronger physically persay.

While we know it to be true it just seems wierd. exellent build either way. :D

I think Prodigy is also directly translating their D&D stats into M&M, which means he's gotta keep with D&D's sometimes-odd strength tiers. Dragons would also suffer from a problematic "log jam" at higher levels, as their strength accelerates faster than the scale does.

That is the heart of the issue, yes. These are direct conversions (to some degree). Changes have been made for the sake of game balance, but there are some things that cannot be translated properly from one system to another.

"We do what we can with what we have." - Tremors

I don't always agree with the strengths and weaknesses of one dragon type to another. In my opinion, a dragon is a dragon. They should be physically powerful and magically proficient. What I am trying to do is provide a nice conversion for those fans who love the dragons from D&D.

For those who are seeking a ridiculous dragon, they will have to wait one more day for my Red Dragon builds. Trust me when I tell you that these will be ture monsters.

As for tearing down stone walls, keep in mind that in M&M, stone only has a TGH of 5. The Blue Dragon adult is certainly capable of such a feat. The others, thus far, are only capable of doing so at higher stages of life.

Besides... why tear down stone walls, when one can just eat the current occupants and set oneself up in a really nice and defensible castle?

CHROMATIC DRAGON: GREEN DRAGON
Green dragons dwell in deep, old-growth forests. They are mean-tempered, cruel, and rude. These dragons love intrigue and secrets. They delight in stalking their enemies and listening in for any information they can gather before moving to attack. Green dragons enjoy consuming elves and fey creatures – especially pixies. Green dragons expel a cone of corrosive chlorine gas as their breath weapon.

Green dragons are not physically spectacular, no...

But they make up for it with their powerful magical powers. Their manipulation of plants in their chosen environments and the fact that they can twist the minds of others to their will makes these guys rather rude.

Umm, so a Gargantuan-sized ancient Green Dragon is weaker than a Large-sized brown bear in terms of its sheer strength? Or a Chimera, by the same extension. I can see that you took the extra steps to reduce the Strength ranks gained from the Growth ranks too.

I suppose everyone's got different design philosophy, but I'm just curious as to why you chose to keep their strength scores in line while giving them a high Attack tradeoff.

I admit it though, it does sound really cool when I imagine a great big Blue Dragon charging at a character only to be blocked by his faithful Dire Bear...

CHROMATIC DRAGON: RED DRAGON

"My armour is like tenfold shields, my teeth are swords, my claws spears, the shock of my tail is a thunderbolt, my wings a hurricane, and my breath death!"
—Smaug

Red Dragons are the most fearsome and cruel of the chromatic dragons. They delight in ruin, death, and destruction. They make their homes in mountainous lairs. Many prefer to dwell in volcanoes, where the intense heat keeps others at bay.

Red dragons are incredibly vain and greedy, seeking to forever increase their wealth and prestige. Of all the chromatic dragons, red dragons will more often assume control over regions of mortal creatures. They use their physical and magical power to dominate those weaker than themselves, demanding sacrifices of beautiful treasures to increase their hoards and young maidens to enslave and consume.

That is some of the coolest Red Dragon art I've ever seen. :D

And the builds look pretty sweet, too. ^^

CHROMATIC DRAGON: WHITE DRAGON
White dragons make their homes in frozen lands and ice-covered mountains. They are considered to be the weakest and most feral of the chromatic dragon types. While slow-witted, they are cunning and efficient hunters. White dragons are lazy and lethargic, preferring only to act when they need something.

I was always partial to the Black & White Dragons. Such a cool visual (not so much with the D&D art, but with the way I could imagine them looking- though the White Dragon art there is pretty sweet). It always bugged me that they were weaker- any time I play a game with them, I plan on boosting their power into the Red Dragon range, or just calling them "Ice Dragons" or something. Also, one day I'm gonna have the players prepare for a White Dragon, then reveal it was a Red Dragon using Polymorph/Shapechange and actually immune to all the crap they threw together to fight him :).

Much as I loved reds, Whites were a favorite as well. I have an old D&D module that has a group of Knights that rode on White Dragons. Some really cool stuff.

METALLIC DRAGON, BRASS DRAGON
Brass dragons are native to arid regions; they share many similar habitats with blue dragons, which often lead to conflict. These dragons are highly social, delighting in extended discussions and conversations with other creatures. However, these conversations tend to be rather one-sided, as brass dragons simply enjoy displaying their social, theological, and philosophical superiority over others. A brass dragon will only part with useful information if given an appropriate gift.

As their name implies, brass dragons tend to have brass-colored scales. Their scales are a dull brown at a young age, becoming more glossy and brass in appearance as they get older. They possess two separate breath weapons. The first is a narrow line of fire. The second is a cone of sleep gas.
