I always liked Nova and was bummed when Morg killed her. What happened with the recent Heralds miniseries where they more or less brought her back (what information I can gather makes for some weird stuff, I'm kinda confused)?

In the weekly mini-series Heralds, a character named Frances appears. After stabbing a customer at the diner where she works following a disruption from space that led to the destruction of a S.W.O.R.D. facility and the release of many cloned scientists and prehistoric life forms, Frances speed off in a car where she meets a clone of Phineas Horton. After crashing the car while attempting to miss him, Frances looks up at Horton and says "Father?" while the Horton clone greets her with, "Hello Frankie." As the series continues, female superheroes Emma Frost, Hellcat, She-Hulk and Valkyrie find her and after a brief discussion where they speculate that she could be a returned Frankie Raye, which she denies, claiming her name is Frances, they agree to take her to the Baxter Building. At the same time, a fully flamed Nova arrives in New York, causing Johnny Storm's powers to activate automatically.

That Wikipedia article wasn't very helpful. That's actually why I had to ask here in the first place, but all is not lost! I went and bought the miniseries for cheap at my FLGS, Merlyn's. And read it.

SPOILERS -- don't read further if you don't want anything spoiled. I'll white-text it, too, just to help.

It turns out that Frances really is Frankie Raye reborn. She doesn't really have any memories of the whole thing, just vague ones, because it was sort of a different life. The Silver Surfer had something to do with this, too, although that part was a bit confusing. He evidently found Frances (I thought maybe the meeting they're referring to happened before Nova died) and recognized the spirit in her and did something to her, gave her back that spark that made her who she was. That part could have been clearer.

Anyway, the "Nova Starforce" came looking for Frances. Basically, it was the fiery golden form of Nova come to reclaim the human half. Sue Storm, Hellcat, Emma Frost and others get drawn into stopping it, culminating in Nova stealing Valeria Richards and the heroines going into space after her. They try to reclaim Val but fail, forcing Frances to merge with the Starforce to become Nova again.

At the end, Frances goes back to the diner where she used to work (and where she started the story), talks to the new waitress there, who then asks what Frances does now that she doesn't work there anymore. Frances only says that it's a good question, goes outside and flies off into the night as Nova (with a smile).

So I guess we can assume that Nova is back, even though I don't think they've done anything with her since then, and I'm happy about that. I always liked that Nova and I'm glad to see her back. I suppose it's too much to hope she meets the Surfer again, I thought they were great together, but then, I did read that Marvel is also trying to figure out how to make a Silver Surfer ongoing work, so...

I am a little excited about the possibilities. I enjoyed the miniseries, although the art wasn't my favorite.
