tessais basically a Kido master. Hes literally a wizrd of Kido spells and porbbaly knows most of if not having invented all fo them. and has clearly mastered a good many of them as well. beyond that his zanpaktos never been unveiled. physically he seems pretty imposing, but not a super combat monster like ichigo or kenpachi.

•The former Captain of the Kido Corps of Soul Society, Tessai here now works in the Human world with fellow former Captain Urahara. We don't know too much about Tessai's current status, as he now lives in a gigai crafted by Urahara, but in the past he was basically grand high pooba of Kido, complete with wizard-esque outfit.

•Tessai is all about the Kido, and I originally wanted to give him Variable to reflect that he can cast pretty much every spell known, including forbidden ones involving time manipulation and teleportation (which I left up to power stunting) but really, Kido's effects aren't that varied. As such he still has 8 effects in his array, Afflictions centering on restraining on opponents, straight up blasts, area or targeted, and even Kido-based healing. Then there's the fact that he's a big physical guy (or Gigai, haha) able to crush Hollows barehanded. So he gets border-line superhuman Strength and Stamina. Tessai's very competent and tough, so he has high Toughness. The rest was mostly educated guesswork-he's supposed to be an ex-captain, so he has high Fighting and other Defenses, along with various Shinigami-related skills and sensing. Notably, he doesn't have Reiatsu release or concealment, since he inhabits a Gigai body specifically designed to both exist normally on the human world as well as blocking Reiatsu. Although that's still kinda squiffy, since he has to rely on Reiatsu to use Kido, right? I'm reasonably happy with this build, but I'm also open to suggestions.

Aw, well thanks, you guys. 'Preciate it. Kenpachi is up next, followed by Komamura, most likely.

I also took a page from Thorp's book and folded Byakuya's Kido array into his Reiatsu release-it cuts down on costs, and makes a lot of sense.

Complications
No sense of Direction While Kenpachi may love a good fight, he can't find his own way without a lot of wrong turns and dead ends.
Holding Back Kenpachi loves fighting, and handicaps himself in several ways (power-sucking eyepatch, noisy bells on his hair) to give his opponents advantages and prolong their fights.
Obsession Combat.

Theme Music!

•Kenpachi Zaraki, at first glance, is a seemingly one-dimensional character, Bleach's answer to the poorly written and (sadly) mainstream version of Wolverine. But, on closer examination, Zaraki has a lot more layers than that, making him Bleach's answer to the well-written Wolverine. He's a man who lives to fight and is about as bloodthirsty as it gets, but he's also quite wise and can even be empathic at times. But he does still have one great love-fighting the strongest people around.

•Kenpachi is a scary strong fighter. He's one PL lower than Byakuya, but that's deceptive. For the most part, offensively, Kenny here acts as a PL 12 until he takes off his eyepatch and unleashes his full spiritual pressure, which brings him to 13. But, he can All-out and Power Attack for +5/-5 each, and bring his effective offensive PL up to 15.5 with +13 to hit and 18 Damage. Plus, there's the fact that he can Startle to halve an opponent's defenses. That almost ensures that he'll hit for big time damage. Add to that his crazy Toughness and the fact that he has Regeneration (the guy gets cut up all the time but still refuses to go down. I think removing one injured condition every 2 rounds reasonably represents that) and he can fight with foes one or two PLs above him with a good chance at victory. He's a simple build, but deadly effective. And he's playable too. Not bad for a day's work.

Thanks for the kind words, Michy.

Up next are the Visored, Privaron Espada, Shunsui Kyōraku, Komamura, Tōsen, Hisagi, Izuru Kira, and maybe some others. At the moment, I'm trying to avoid doing characters that have already been built.

•Here's Dordoni, a Privaron Espada, which means he was once in Aizen's top ten Arrancar, but lost out to other, stronger Arrancar, artificially created by the Hogugkyoko. Although he's able to give Ichigo a pretty good fight, especially once he unleashes his Resurrecion and gains heightened Multiattack blasts (in the form of multiple air cyclones that he controls), he's no match for top-tier opponents like other Espada, Captains, or the like. Even though he forces Ichigo to use his Hollow powers during their fight, later he admits that Ichigo probably would have won with just his Bankai.

•Up next are the other two Privaron Espada, and then maybe Komamura-I like the big lug, even if he isn't exactly a shining example of power, getting whupped by most of his opponents.

•Dordoni isn't anything special in build, having a few standard Arrancar traits (high speed for their version of flash steps, air-walking (which I have to add to Byakua-its handled weirdly in Bleach as they never do it until they're in Heuco Mundo, but then everyone can do it on Earth, I think Kubo only added it cause it looks cool) which in 3E, is best represented as Flight. His Resurrecion is simple enough, although you could make a case for his Blasts actually be Damaging Move Object. I went with what seemed simplest here. He's mostly a scrapper until he uses his Resurrecion and becomes a flying blaster.

Dordoni's fight with Ichigo is one of my favorite moments in the Hueco Mundo arc. I giggled through most of it, even though he actually turned out to be kinda bad ass, at least with his Resurrecion. Looking forward to the other Privaron Espada.

Happy holidays, Eld!

Y'know, whenever I get interested in Bleach or Naruto or any of the other popular muscular-guys-beating-each-other-up anime/manga, I find that I get totally lost in the piles of jargon that they develop over the course of the series.

Still just looking at the characters' powers in the raw does give me a better idea of what the heck is going on. Good work Eld!

Thanks for the praise, Mr. O.

Really, most the beauty of 3E to me, is that it helps translate jargon into the ready-made power effects. You can still call it Sonido, or the Omega Effect, or Super-Speed, or whatever, but that's ultimately just flavor text for the base effect. But being able to choose from such myriad flavors is why Mutants and Masterminds can be much more than just a superhero RPG.

Complications
Relationship Nicole Brennan
Responsibility As a Concordance Extraction Corporation employee, Isaac's job can often force him into hazardous positions.
Power Loss Isaac's Stasis Module has a fixed amount of energy and must be recharged from time to time.

•Taking a break from Bleach builds for the moment, here's Isaac Clarke, protagonist of Dead Space and the forthcoming Dead Space 2. I tried to capture the fact that Isaac isn't anything spectacular as he's supposed to be a relatively ordinary engineer, but also capture the fact that he manages to be a survivor when those around him are going to pieces. So he gets some useful solo Advantages (Luck, Beginner's Luck, JoAT), to represent that he's mostly on his own. Technology is his money skill, and once he's cleared an area of enemies, he can usually take 10 and do moderate repair tasks with no trouble (he can beat higher DCs if someone is communicating with and helping him).

•You could always up Isaac's Equipment ranks or spend them on other weapons, but I didn't want to get into that, since the Plasma Cutter is his 'iconic' weapon and he usually does well enough on his own. He's nothing too amazing, but at PL 6, he's not meant to be. He fights the Necromorphs, gets away by the skin of his teeth, fixes something, heals up, and then gets right back to fighting more Necromorphs. Factor in that more goes wrong for him than your average disaster movie hero, making him awash in temporary Complications and Hero Points, and he has at least a fighting chance.

•Here's another Privaron Espada, Cirucci Sanderwicci, also known as Thunderwitch in some translations. She's in my mind, one of the weaker foes encountered in the Hueco Mundo arc, as Ishida handles her pretty well, with only minor assistance from Pesshe. Then again, maybe she just rolled bad. With only one fight shown, its hard to gauge her relative strength, but a balanced PL 11 is pretty good for a former Espada.

•As opposed to a lot of other Arrancar, who use their Resurrecion to simply change their weapon or gain a new power, Cirucci's rapidly alters her body, turning her into this.
Image
She ditches the yo-yo esque weapon she used before, and relies on her massive wings, vibrating at super-sonic speeds to cut her foes, as well as releasing spiritual energy from her tail. Not anything too challenging for a team of average super heroes, but a tough fight for a solo hero.
