Inspiration Strikes!
A blog I ran for a while on a variety of subjects as they pertain to gaming. Mostly this one is about ideas and how to approach the creative process.

Some good stuff. I especially like the revisionist history one.
That's why I always liked the 'what if?' books; you could see how a favorite character would respond to situations he would never be allowed to encounter in normal continuity.

I did something like this a while back, a friend wanted to play a superbadass who was very much a nerd. After he struggled with the idea for a while I told him to take James Bond but strip away and replace his identifiable habits with nerd things. Martinis became yoohoo, tuxedos became comic book hoodies, sweet baccarat skills became leet FPS talent and so on. But the attitude and talents remain.
Someone told me to write a blog about movies and RPGs...So here it is

Glad you like it, its both gratifying and motivating to hear that people are reading and getting something from it.

That idea sounds pretty awesome, kind of like Chuck from the TV show has become over the series; still very nerdy, but also a capable spy.

Inspiration Strikes! #10: Do I Know You? is live this morning. In it I discuss how putting a new spin traditional fantasy races can help to breathe life into custom settings. In the process I reinvent the Ork as a woodland craftsman and farmer.

Inspiration Strikes! #11: Do I Know You? - Part 2 is now live. It in I continue last week's idea of re-working a familiar face into something a little less so. In this case I move the Ork into a science fiction setting and then make with the changes.

enjoy

Inspiration Strikes! #12: Do I Know You? - Part 3 is now live. It in I continue the past two weeks' woth of ideas of re-working a familiar face into something a little less so. For my final effort in this series I create a post-modern Orc.
