Complications:
Motivation: Lu is out to do good with her powers and skills. She knows full well what she is capable of, and in truth, it even scares her a little, but thanks to Cyborg's "Iron-Clad Self Control" training regimen, Lu has confidence in her ability to resist the temptations to do ill with her powers so she can focus on using them for the greater good.
Impulsive - While with Cyborg, Lu has been focusing on learning self control more than anything, but sometimes, she just can't help herself and will start Analyzing tech around her, regardless of how sensitive it is to it's owner.
Secrets - With the ability yo blueprint technology at a look and remember it permanently with eidetic memory, Lupe knows many technological secrets she is sworn to protect and those will not be the last.
Mysterious Past - The specialist who injected Lu is obviously a mysterious figure of her past who may return to influence Lu's life in some way, though when and how remains to be seen.
Techno-Blood - Lu's body is infused with nano-technology from her blood, muscles, bones and so on. While straight electricity will harm her no more or less than any others, she is highly susceptable to electro-magnetic pulses which will result in Powerloss of all but her technopathy and cause her to be Fatigued. Her powers return when the Fatigue is recovered from.
Hacked - Lu's nano-machines can be hacked if someone has the particular means to do so, using Technology(Half rank rounded up) as an Affliction effect (Resisted by Will; Dazed, Compelled, Controlled) against her. Her nanites are wireless so the hacker requires a wireless means of hacking them, and they are controlled by her Technopathic powers on a passive basis (thus Will as a Resistance). The hacker's control is limited to physical manipulation. There may be other applications of this complication to GM discretion.
Enochlophobic - Enochlophobia is the irrational fear of crowds. An incident when she was young that nearly got her trampled by a crowd traumatized Lu for life, and she cannot be surrounded by a large group of people without feeling closed in and starts to shut down and become unresponsive, or begins to panic outright, depending on the situation. Public transit is an absolute nightmare to her. Being in front of a large crowd is fine, only when she is IN the crowd does this trigger.(Crowd should be more than 6 or 7 people)
Lu was born weak and sickly. She was never expected to live to hit puberty, much less her 5th birthday, yet her parents tried their best to make her happy. When she was five years old and dieing, a specialist doctor approached Lu's parents.
Desperate to try anything that might save their daughter, they consented to an 'experimental procedure'. It only involved a few shots (Which Lu didn't like at all), but within hours there was progress, within days, Lu, whose legs were too weak to carry her without supports, was running down the hospital hallways to escape the doctors chasing her.
It was a miracle, but the specialist had been nowhere to be found. Lu's family hadn't even had the chance to thank the man, thinking nothing of how it was strange he didn't stay to monitor the progress, take notes on results, anything. They were simply glad to have their child back, and healthier than ever.
Within the next two years, Lu's technopathy came to the surface. Specialists in the field exclaimed it was rare for powers to develop in someone so young, but it wasn't entirely unheard of and probably nothing to worry about... until their computer went up in smoke as the cooling fan shut itself off and the processor kicked into high gear, causing a fit of giggles from young Lu.
The next few years were hard with Lu's abilities growing along with her strength and stamina, causing quite the rambunctious and rebellious streak to develop. Lu's parents reached out to the Justice League, thinking perhaps they had someone who could help them learn how to deal with Lu's powers. The League sent one of their leading tech-heads; Cyborg.
After a few... interesting... confrontations, Cyborg got through to Lu's wonderlust for technology, and her mentorship under Cyborg began. Having been a Teen Titan previously, even leading chapters, Cyborg had a fair share of how to engage the teen, teaching her all kinds about technology, but also how to fight, why to fight. Cyborg taught her just how dangerous she was. She deserved to know, but the picture Cyborg painted was so vivid in Lu's mind, it affected her on a fundamental level, and allowed Cyborg to teach her the most important lesson he could 'Self Control', a lesson Lu is still trying to get a grasp on, but she is trying.
Her codename, Sable, is symbolic in how a saber is a dangerous thing, but in the right hands, can protect people.
Personality:
Lu's is a fairly typical teenager in personality her age. She tries to be mature, but she is prone to what Cyborg affectionately coined 'geek-fests' where she finds something new to Analyze, especially in great quantity. She is enthusiastic about using her powers and skills to make things that will help people.
That said, she is also still a teenager, prone to immature stints like any other. She's capable of laughing and does so often when enjoying herself or finds something funny. Despite her affinity to machines, her personality shows none of their traits. She appreciates that she was never supposed to live past five, and plans to live the best she can.
To her friends and teammates, she's the reliable one. The one who can keep a secret and will listen, if one doesn't mind her tinkers while she does. She takes care of her team by making sure their gear is in top condition from the base to any personal effects. And she's the one everyone knows they can turn to in a pinch
Finally, she has a sense of self control one could generously call solid. Cyborg's lessons with her revolved a lot around self control and became a mantra of 'Iron-clad Self Control' that she can be heard repeating to herself when she feels her self control slipping, at least, when it's important for that control to remain in place.
Arriving on the Watchtower 5, Cyborg introduces Sable to Red Tornado, all the while doing her best to contain her excitement and not to Analyze everything in and about the Watchtower in sight, including the robotic hero who escorts her to a technology-bare meeting room, save for a techn-organic monitor and typing aparatus to be used by Miss Martian, her interviewer... who walked in as Lu was Analyzing the alien technology, much to her own surprised ability to do so.
Miss Martian: "Oh don't worry about that, you have to be a psychic in order to operate it. Okay, now that we are seated, we can begin. Please state your full name and codename."
Sable: *Feeling a bit guilty about having been caught Analyzing the monitor, she considers something, but gives herself a mental shake and answers the question* "My full name is Lupe Esmeralda Espada, my codename, is Sable."
Miss Martian: "Great, now please tell me about your powers."
Sable: "Er... which ones? Natural or the nanite?"
Miss Martian: "Well, assuming the natural ones were with you from birth, let's start with the nanites. How did you come to possess them?"
Sable: "Well, I was really sickly when I was little, as in 'not expected to live to hit puberty' sickly. Then one day, this doctor specialist guy shows up with an experimental procedure that should have made me healthy again. It worked."
Miss Martian: "It worked too well?"
Sable: "Kind of. I think it triggered my technopathy which co-ordinated the nanite efforts to greater effect than anyone could have expected, self included, considering I was five and didn't know I had super powers."
Miss Martian: "Did they try to reproduce it?"
Sable: *Shrugs* "I don't know. Maybe? The specialist disappeared. We never even got a chance to thank him."
Miss Martian: "Alright, tell me about your technopathic powers. You can take things apart with your mind, see how they work? Manipulate them?"
Sable: "If by "take apart with your mind", you mean see a kind of mental blueprint of how it's put together? Then yes. For manipulating them, well, I can't make a toaster dance, but I can activate it's convection circuit and make it hot. i can't make something do something outside of it's functions, though I can activate certain functions and kick them into overdrive....blew up a computer when I was seven by doing that to a processor while turning off the cooling fan. it seemed a lot funnier back then."
Miss Martian: "I imagine. So why be a Titan? STAR Labs would hire you surely, not to mention any number of other technology corporations."
Sable: *Thinks it over for a second* "I know STAR would lobotomize themselves to get their hands on me and my abilities, after all, I can analyze and catalogue technology with a look. I have eidetic memory, I'm not sure if that's related to the nanites, the powers or just a natural trait I would have had anyways, but anyways.. the problem is, with STAR or someone else, I could only help people they wanted to help. As a Titan, I could help so many more people, like a real hero. I mean... I do want to join the Justice League one day."
Miss Martian: "I understand. Where is it you want to go then?"
Sable: *Smiles a little coyly* "I hear Jump City is nice this time of year"
Miss Martian: "I've lived there for six years, it's nice all year round."
Sable: *Breaks into a grin* "That just means I can say it any time and be accurate"
Miss Martian: "Well, I think we are done here. Welcome to the TItan Reserves Sable. We'll call for you when a space opens up." *She stands and offers her hand*
Sable: *Unable to contain her excitement, leaps up and enthusiastically shakes Miss Martian's hand in both of her own* "Th-thank you!!" *she stops a beat and 'ahems'* "I-I mean, thank you. I'll be waiting for your call"
Miss Martian leaves the room and waits out side the door for a three-count, rewarded for the patience with a loud and excited whoop of joy before continuing down the hall.

Change/XP Log wrote:The First Week: +1pp. Spent on something but was wrapped up into the remix...
Episode 1 "Next": +5pp. Spent on: +2 Expertise Magic, Leadership, Uncanny Dodge, +2 Close Attack (And subtracted 1 Accurate from both Owl Talons and Escrima Sticks to not go over caps), Took Close Attack 8+Parry 13+Fighting 2 and made them more evened: They are now Close Attack 6+Parry 13+Fighting 4. Still comes to the same pp total and the same Parry and Melee combat accuracy, she's now not 'back-loaded' with the Close Attack Advantage. Showing the same amount of 'skill' in fighting, just a more broad understanding of it.
Episode 2 "The Brat's Bride": +4pp. Spent on: 1 rank of Inspire, 1 rank of Minion (for Teekle), 2 ranks of Ranged Combat Skill, and one somewhere in the minor edits I did... I increased her Fighting score, lowering her Parry so it stays at caps and not above them and took out her Accurate Attack Advantage; she has a +12 in most forms of combat if not higher, why would she want to increase her accuracy even -more- than that?

NOTES
Deuce is an ace mentalist, possessing both telepathy and telekinesis. With her telepathy, she can generate mental hallucinations, read people's minds, and communicate with them, even acting like a team switch board the way Miss Martian links her team mates up in Young Justice. She also has limited precognitive ability, letting her glimpse slightly into the future to instinctively get out of harms way (her high active defenses). She can also mentally attack opponents in a number of frightening ways.
Deuce is also a powerful telekineticist, able to silently move objects with her mind and blast targets with telekinetic force.

Excerpt from Titans Reserve Interview #402 - DEUCE
...
Interviewer: "So why did you pick your name?"
Deuce: "You mean Amanda?"
Interviewer: "Well, no, but go ahead. Why did you choose to name yourself Amanda?"
Deuce: "Well, when I met Mrs. Waller - you know, the USA/JLU Liason, but at the time she was still head of Project Cadmus - when I met her I couldn't help but read her mind sorta, I hadn't been studying with Mento long enough and couldn't control it like I can now... anyway, I didn't mean to, but she had this incredible guilt she kept hidden, probably because she felt bad about Ace and the whole using kids as weapons thing... and I felt bad and wanted to let her know there wasn't any hard feelings, so I decided to call myself Amanda after her. She didn't show it, 'cuz I guess she likes seeming cool and in control and stuff, but I could tell she appreciated it. Also, I like the name Amanda."
Interviewer: "Ah. So, why did you pick the codename Deuce?"
Deuce: "Well, duh? Cuz of Ace. Its clever, isn't it? Ace came first, and I came after, so I'm Deuce, get it? I'm like her second chance."
Interviewer: "Second chance? What do you mean by that?"
Deuce: "Well... I know nobody likes to use the C-word around me, but I honestly don't mind it. I'm Ace's clone. I'm everything that I am because I got it from her: her looks, her powers. But I'm lucky because I didn't have such a crappy life as she did, and it really wasn't her fault. She got taken by Cadmus and didn't have a childhood, cuz of all the training and stuff.
"And everyone was always afraid of her. Even now. I obviously didn't know her, because she died before I was ever around, but whenever I watch the vids of her, I can see her sadness. And how lonely she was. If things had been different, if Ace had awesome parents and friends like I do now, I know she would have been a good person, and I want to prove that. I mean, I know everyone hates her, especially on Black Ace Day... isn't it enough to just remember everyone who died and NOT be so hateful? I mean, they don't have to burn pictures of her and stuff...
"Anyway, thats why I named myself Deuce, and thats why I wear a costume like hers - except I like hearts better than clubs - so that maybe, if I do enough good, they won't remember Ace as a monster. I feel like... like I owe her something. Because, otherwise I wouldn't have had such an awesome life. So. So thats why I want to join the Teen Titans - no, I didn't read your mind, but c'mon, obviously thats the whole point of this interview, right?"
Interviewer: "Er, correct. Um... ok,tell us what you can offer the Teen Titans."
Deuce: "Well, I'm a psychic. I'm not nearly as powerful as Ace was, but thats a good thing because thats what ended up killing her in the end... after they rescued me from Grodd and they realized my brain was still developing, and that, well, I was maturing super fast, like when they rescued me I was like 10, but I would have grown up to be like 20 in a week! ... wait, where was I? Oh yeah. Star Labs managed to do something that slowed down my growth and that also slowed down my brain development so that hopefully I won't end up having a brain aneurysm.
"Sorry, anyway, my point is, I'm a psychic. And a good one. Mento and Miss Martian are the best teachers ever, and they say my potential is the highest they've ever felt. Well, they don't say it, but they think it. And I'm going to help people however I can, anyway; if I didn't have powers, I'd study hard and become a social worker or a doctor or someone who helps people. But I DO have powers. A lot of power. And it should be used right.
"I've been really, really, really fortunate. I owe it to everyone, for, like, how great my life has been. And I owe it to Ace.
"My dream is to eventually join the Justice League, so I can help EVERYONE, globally, the way the Justice League helped Ace in Central Park, but until I'm old enough and experienced enough to join the League, I want to work with the best, and the best are the Teen Titans. I know that seems kind of simple, but my reasons are simple. So. So thats that."
Interviewer: "Well, I guess that is that. Is there anything else you'd like to say before we conclude?"
Deuce: "Um... yeah. Batman. Um. I know you've been watching over me, and I know you're going to be watching this, so I just wanted to say... thanks. And. Thanks for staying with her, in the end."

“In the world of superheroes, there's no such thing as destiny. To those who can ascend beyond the bounds of mundane humanity, there is an infinity of possibilities. The ones whom that the masses call superheroes and supervillains are the gods of the new age, and can transcend the world. Transcend poverty, transcend hatred, transcend violence. But that doesn't mean having power makes you a great person, or guarantee that you're doing good. My mom always said that the real heroes were those who were mundane folks who tried to help other people, no matter their power. And the more powerful you got, the more you have to strive to be good, so I'm obligated to be a hero, Static! Plus the costume I have is cool, right?” -Garen Wendell MacArthur to Static
Original Picture Picture by Romax25 [Of Victor Mancha of the Runaways, rights reserved to Marvel and so forth]
Players Name: Warr
Power Level: 10 (150 pp)
Unspent PP: 000
Name: Garen Wendell MacArthur
Alias[es]: 'Kid Static', 'Charge', 'Amp', 'Lightning Lad', 'Over-charge', 'Static-Charge', 'Nanoshock', Volt
Age: 15
Height: 5'9”
Weight: 150 Ibls.
Hair: Dark Brown
Eyes: Blue
Description: Garen is a lanky fifteen year old boy, who has grown a whopping three inches since the incident which granted him the nanites which provide his powers, and since then his body has had an artificial growth spurt, flab turning into slightly toned muscles, which do not properly relay the physical strength and endurance which they have. Garen wears his hair at a medium length, with his hair barely keeping itself from covering his ears and some centimeters away from his eyes. He has a slightly tan tint to his skin, and a medium spectrum face which has aspects that seem aquiline and round 'common' features. His eyes, a stark blue, have a slightly asiatic shape to them, and his arms seem gangly compared to the rest of his body, as if implying that he is going to grow even more than he already has.
Typically when not heroing, he's found in simple blue jeans, an orange hoodie, and a t-shirt of one of the following colors. [Dark Blue, Green, Black, Maroon]- and when heroing he can be downright eccentric. The current set up he's given himself is a dark orange sleeveless hoodie, a skin tight dark blue t-shirt, a pair of dark orange shorts, and simple black and white running/tennis shoes. A dark blue mask in the style of Green Arrow, Nightwing, or Speedy, and no emblem marking his costume. This being only because Static refuses to take him on as his apprentice [or allow him to use the symbol], and because Garen has not come to a strong decision on what his own super heroic identity will be, it's far too likely that he'd be changing emblems weekly [as he changes his hero name], and he's not that good at sewing.
History:
Not every hero is predestined to be a hero, or born with power, and the slightest action can change your future. That's the kind of motto that Garen Wendel MacArthur grew up believing, from the time his slightly strange mother [who almost named him 'Grendel' but changed a few letters on impulse] could first talk to him. He lived a normal enough life for a kid of a single mother in a city like Dakota, and despite the fact that from the time he could watch himself he ended up being locked in his apartment when his mom could work, and reading comic books or watching TV [and seeing the exploits of the Justice League, but particularly Dakota's own Static and his friend Gear], he grew up healthy enough. With a bit of a complex towards superheroes and how people should be brave and help whenever they could, but no more than other kids.
He was happy, healthy, and well-fed, with his mom taking good care of him between her job as a nurse at Dakota General hospital, and generally having as much of her attention as he could want. When he didn't, he had the community recreation center to spend time with his friends from school and play basketball or swim. It was a good life, and he had enough friends, no real bullies, and occasionally got to see Static or Gear zooming through the sky. With slightly above average grades in school in everything but history [which he excelled in solely because he had a huge fascination with the story of people], he seemed likely to have an average life, and maybe with the help of a scholarship escape living in one of the worse neighborhoods of Dakota. He suffered occasion bad grades [because he didn't know how to get his head out of the clouds and because he was occasionally distracted by what he thought was a superhero zipping by in the sky], but most of those were from not doing his homework.
It was a fair enough life, if not a great life considering the city he lived in. He wasn't really in danger of gangs, he had food in his stomach every day, he had a roof over his head, and he had a loving parent. He was well liked enough, and he was generally considered 'average' by his fellow kids, despite the fact that he was a bit chubby and occasionally teased or bullied for that.
He was happy, but chased after the chance to see heroes in action. He had been told time and time again by his mother to stay away from any superhuman battle scenes, because she didn't want him hurt, and he tried to listen, but one day his excitement bested his judgment. A battle between the big leagues! He couldn't believe his eyes as he saw Brainiac and Static duke it out over the skies in Dakota, and as he watched from the fifth street park bench where he had first seen them duke it out, he saw that Static fought amazingly against Brainiac. The battle continued, up until the point that Brainiac knocked Static off of his “Static Saucer” and sent him nearly hurtling into the pond. Brainiac moved to continue his plan [whatever it was] with the assumption that Static would be the first to grab the “Static Saucer” and his battle plan would be complete.
But because of excitement and a lapse in Garen's own judgment, Static wasn't anywhere near the first one to grab it. Hoping to help the hero stop Brainiac before he got away, Garen rushed to the Saucer as the hero stumbled back up to his feet. Garen hoped to throw it to Static as it was closer to him than it was to Static, but as he grabbed it destiny finally hit the boy. Brainiac had left a trap which would presumably neutralize Static's powers at minimum, or kill him at maximum, a nanite plague spreading explosive canister, which exploded as Garen touched it, and sent the boy flying backwards, quickly invested with the nano-plague, which promptly began to eat at and destroy his body. Luckily, it was a slow process and Static was able to stop Brainiac and save the kid within a few hours.
Garen was taken by Static to the Watchtower without hesitation, for medical attention, as the kid was crying out in pain and had obvious infections from the Brainiac's statements involving the plague, and the fact that his veins were turning a grey or a glowing green. After review by the equipment in the Watchtower, the only thing that the Justice League could think to do to save the boy from the now far more rapidly spreading nanobot plague was for Static to 'shock them' into neutrality. Static did so, electrocuting the boy for a moment, and as Garen's vital signs seemed to go better, he was taken back home to his mom, with Static [still in costume] explaining what had happened, asking his mother to keep an eye on him [and contact static if anything happened or his condition worsened], and thanking Garen for his help, followed by reprimanding him, asking him to never try to 'play hero' again.
Months passed, and despite a few bouts of sickness as his highly weakened immune system tried to get stronger, Garen seemed to be okay. In fact, as he grew three inches taller, went from chubby to lanky, and felt stronger and more healthy than ever; he was more than okay. The nanite plague hadn't been neutralized, no, when Static sent the current through Garen, the nanites had instead been reversed in programming, and were making Garen stronger than he ever had been before, more healthy, and as he found out one day when his urge for heroics got the better of him and he jumped in front of a car to save a little girl from being ran over by its distracted driver- he had powers now too. The magnetic push of the car up into the air and the static flowing from his hands, and arms, even the fact that his eyes were glowing like blue lightning, they all pointed to the fact that he wasn't so normal anymore.
After making sure the little girl was safely on the sidewalk, he fled the scene and after a day of brooding Garen decided that it was a sign of things to come. His heroic act before had given him power, and somehow the nanites which were previously moving to kill him had given him immense power, and had given him power over electricity, made him stronger, tougher, more healthy. It made him like his hero, he had the power to be a hero, finally- and help people like Static did.
So 'Kid Static' as he dubbed himself [after coming up with his costume], began to sneak out of the house at night or whenever he heard of criminals on the radio [which he couldn't really explain the origin of, he heard the sound even if the radio was off], spun off to be a hero, and did well enough at first, making enough of a mark to bring him notice in the local Dakota media- and make Static hunt him down on one of his hunts, confronting Garen.
The young man revealed his identity to Static with glee, and declared that he was going to be Static's sidekick, only to be rebuffed by the older male. Static spoke of the danger, said he didn't want to be responsible for it, or for Garen to get hurt. Said that Garen shouldn't be trying to use those powers like that in the first place. And the boy responded to Virgil with the simplest of answers. “You did it.”
Garen left the scene at the time, and Static was left agape. He began to ponder his choices, the situation, it all. Would Garen stop his antics if Static refused him? Unlikely, it was hard to be a simple kid when you had that kind of power. Would he be safe or mentally okay if Virgil made him his sidekick? No, there was too much danger for young heroes and for sidekicks, period.
The answer came from his friend, Nightwing. The Teen Titans, and to such a prestigious name, how could Garen say no? He did, saying he didn't want to be in a different city than his mom, but after being thoroughly beat up by his rival, 'Steamstream lass', he ended up going to the Watchtower for the interview with the Justice League for membership in the Teen Titans. Interviewed by Mee'gan M'gozz, or Miss Martian, he went through a laundry list of questions and in the end, after said martian mentalist finished reviewing things and reading his mind, he was marked as honest, enthusiastic, and a good prospect for the Teen Titans, as he already has a good sense of responsibility, and an understanding of the consequences [after what happened with Brainiac]. Miss Martian finished the interview with the offer of helping him tell his mother, and he did, only to be hugged by his mother and then given a noogie [and a slight static shock to her in return for that, as Garen's body a static energy battery afterall], before she said simply. "I knew the whole time, you can't fool me... think I didn't notice the suddenly modified jacket of your's in the wash?" However, it was Static's influence that got him into Chapter 1, or very likely.
His mother had been offered a great paying job in Jump City by Wayne Enterprise in a Clinic, and so Garen began his path towards the Teen Titans enthusiastic, even if it was only a stepping stone to the big leagues, to being a real superhero!
Complications: Secret Identity: Garen's identity is secret to the common populace, and aside from the other Titans, The Justice League, and his mother herself, no one knows that 'Kid Static/Amp/Charge/The name of the week' is the same person as Garen Wendell MacArthur, and he goes to pains to keep it that way.
Reputation: Garen made a mark in Dakota before moving, and sent quite a few criminals [mundane and otherwise] to jail before his mother's transfer to Jump City, and has a reputation as being a wild but powerful little lightning wielder, like a less grounded version of his 'mentor'. In Dakota even before he gained powers, he had a reputation because his mother's family [the MacArthurs] were a long line of Irish Cops who were proud to be Irish, American, and from Dakota City. He was raised in Little Derry, an Irish Neighborhood within Dakota, but the surname was well known throughout it.
Power Loss: If Submerged in Water, or Drenched in water- Garen loses his powers until he dries out.
Motivation: Responsibility: Garen feels immensely responsible to protect people, even if he doesn't have the wisdom to protect himself at the same time. He feels with the powers which were bestowed upon him, he owes the world a hero, even if he isn't as close to being a hero as he thinks he is.
Motivation: Acceptance: Garen is motivated to be accepted by his hero, and the other adult heroes.
Limp Noodle: Garen is prone to monologues, melodramatic actions, and very often than not, things which he thinks are 'cool' but are actually nothing more than funny to other people.
Rival: Garen has gained himself a rival in his short time as a hero, and she's beat his butt pretty bad every time. Called 'Steamstream Lass' by Garen [isn't he clever], she's a steam using young meta, and very likely the daughter of Hot-Streak and Aquamaria.
Chivalry*: Garen is a true believer in Chivalry, and was raised by his mother in a way to reinforce this. He doesn't like to hit a girl, he always opens doors for them, and tries to do things like make sure they don't step in puddles, etc. He's also pretty bashful as a result of his chivalry, and worse because of the conflicting necessities of having to hit a supervillainess and of having been taught not to hit girls, it's not too hard to feign injury and make him feel guilty, or be properly distracted by it.
*Chivalry as understood by a 15 year old boy from the City of Dakota, mind you. Not the proper/true chivalry, but he thinks he's being chivalrous by doing such things.

“Puberty sucks, they're right about that- but I wouldn't call my unique problems the result of puberty, since the nanites, they've evolved to something bigger, badder, and mooooooreeeeee powerful. No seriously, have you ever found yourself statically clung to the ceiling, wrapped up in your blanket and dangling there just waiting to fall and break your arm? Well! Well! I have.”
Garen was a somewhat awkward kid before the incident, but he had adjusted to his body changing well enough to be used to it. But after the incident and the reverse of programming to the nanites via Static's electric shock, Garen hit a sizable growth spurt, and worse still found himself doing things no boy in his right mind would hope to find themselves doing. Hanging upside down from the ceiling via static cling? Dealing with messy hair that stuck up all over the place and that actually literally electrified any scissors coming near? Feeling like he'd been given sleeping pills after a shower? Dealing with glares as he literally rocketed ten feet above the basketball hoop when he was trying to dodge someone's defense?
It's awkward, and probably would've been less awkward if he hadn't dealt with it at the same time as the last stages of puberty, but Garen's body has grown considerably since the incident. The nanites which were originally retrofitted by Brainiac to become a nano-plague, returned to their original function, and went towards constantly working to heal him, to help him grow, and to mold him into the peak physical specimen which he could possibly be given the limitations of humanity. They've strengthened his muscles, hardwired his reactions, and work to stop diseases and poison as if they had become apart of his immune system; they did all of this, but they also worked as a physical restrain for his budding electrokinetic powers, while they continued to work on their own to do as they wished, they stopped his body from having an energy freak out for just enough days that as the nanites grew and continued to retrofit his body into closer to peak condition, they unlocked massive energy reserves within the boy. In the simplest of terms, as they rebuilt him, they pushed him to evolve into something above the capabilities of a normal young man.
And as they rebuilt him, the constant energy demands they had pushed his energy reserves further and further, and his body became more and more bio-electromagnetic, until the bioelectricity began to overload his body with electrical voltage, and cause him to do feats which were beyond that of the common man. The bioelectric energy has enhanced his natural speed, and while surprisingly and amazingly has built his metabolism up so much that it regenerates at an advanced speed, more surprisingly has allowed him to literally dissipate electricity that hits him, and manipulate it in ways to make his own physical capabilities higher than they normally are. The flaw of this is that, the electrical energy makes him very unlikely to be properly 'subtle' in most situations, and it also supercharges his body to the point it takes concentration to not zap someone who touches him.

“Static Voltage Overcharge...”:
Garen, like many children within the City of Dakota, had touched latent Bang Baby DNA and dealt with faint traces of Big Bang pollution within the area; as a result he had the chance simply waiting to become a metahuman. Not necessarily a Bang Baby or anything on that scale but beyond natural chance and the mutative pollution from the Big Bang that still lingered in Dakota, Garen had roughly a 2% chance of becoming a metahuman, or unlocking some metahuman talent. It so happens, that his emotive centers, and lobes within his brains are just the right shape that if he had gained those powers, it would have been electromagnetic in nature and more specifically, electrokinetic.
A lightning strike could've caused it, and granted him minor powers, but the composed lightning force of Static's electric shock pulled the trigger on his DNA, and it began to shift slightly and open his mental pathways to allow for electrokinetic manipulation. So too, thanks to the devouring energy of the nano-plague which had been reprogrammed to it's original purpose, an unconscious training regime began to make the boy evolve to the next stage. He could've redirected other electrical charges, yes, but never created his own bioelectrical pulses, at least not if the nanites hadn't constantly devoured his energy for days as they rebuilt and reshaped him, repairing the damage they had done and doing more.
But the strain on his body and his energy creating reserves as the nanites did there work were such that his body and electrokinesis began to wildly merge, multiplying the electrical creation the boy was able to create by a million fold, and electrifying his body to the point that he evolved into something parahuman. The mere energy force allowed him to mimic the powers of his idol, and do more with them than his idol had.

Robin as GM:The Watchtower.... At long last, you are HERE! [Kid] Static is intercepted almost immediately after showing you the main pillar, where Garen catches sight of several heroes and even a few people his own age... and after instructing you to follow the large red robot while he tends to league business, you are following in the footsteps of the Red Tornado.
Me as Garen: "Well see, I had some problems with getting here, malfuctions with water and dodging rain storms and uh, you know... sorry for being late!" As he walks through the pillars, his eyes wander to and fro, taking into account everything around him and especially taking note of the other heroes about, a stupid grin on his face despite the fact that he's late.
Robin as GM: "You seem somewhat distracted, young one. My apologies, I was not under the impression that Static had taken on a protege" is that Plastic Man!? WHOA! and Stars and STRIPES... talk about a hot older babe...and he's almost certain that for a moment (Just a moment) he see's the blur that could only be one of the three Flashes "You are here to interview for the Teen Titans I assume? It is normally the first thing beings of your age category attend to when brought on board the watchtower for the first time."
Me as Garen: Despite the fact that Red Tornado is guiding him, there's no answer for at least a minute and a half as his eyes run back and forth over them, and yes linger at Stargirl [Stars] for a few minutes. "Well, before Static suggested it because he doesn't want me sol- I mean running around as he protege in Dakota, but I told him I wouldn't leave my mom alone..." His eyes look around as if he is trying to concoct some story, and fails, looking down at the ground in shame of his lack of storytelling skill. "But then she got a job at a Wayne Corp Clinic, that's cool right? Wayne Corp!" He blinks, then tacks on: "And there's no reason to not check into the Titans now, I guess... it might be cool meeting other heroes my age... and I won't have to worry about dealing with her without backup either... darn Steamstream Girl." He resumes looking around, and realizes for the first second that Red Tornado is a ROBOT, which makes him look at the Robot with intense glares, as he tries to figure him out.
Robin as GM: In spite of being nearly 20 years old, The Red Tornado is easily the most advanced known android on Earth, and the only one to somehow developed true consiousness as opposed to just following programming. (the public is largely unaware of AMAZO)... a short time later, Tornado stops and turns on the spot, beckoning to the room* "You will find who you are looking for here momentarily.... " "Make yourself comfortable." *door opens to what almost looks like a counciler sort of office, no desk, just two futuristic looking chairs, a table, and some sodas.
Me as Garen: "You're not my interviewer...? Bu-bu-but... they use you as a butler?" *He follows the entrance, as he glimpses soda and charges at those treats... something mom rarely lets him have.* "Darnit, no Mountain Tornado... I liked citrus soda..." *Garen grabs a lemon-lime soda and sips it, adjusting his mask a bit to make sure it isn't lopsided, and to cool his statically charged nerves as he waited for the interviewer.
Robin as GM: "That is not the case, this was simply on my way, and those not granted at least a Level 5 League status are not permited to move though the Watchtower Unattended... If you would wait here for a moment, Miss M'oorze will be with you shortly." the door closes and he quickly realizes it won't open for him.
Me as Garen: He sits comfortably in the chair after realizing that, convinced he could blast his way out if he needed to.
Robin as GM: It takes a moment before the door opens again, revealing the interview; with brown hair, green skin, and in her black uniform.... a now 20 year old and fully matured Ms. Martian. "Hello...it's Garen isn't it?" she smiles sweetly as she says it. "I'm Mee'gan... I'm in charge of setting up your Profile for the Titans Initiative." As silence permeates the room, she tilts head slightly. "Helloooo", she waves hand in front of him, "Why does this keep happening to boys I meet?"
Me as Garen: Garen is indeed in a near trance at seeing Miss Martian, both as his fanboyism of heroes and heroines kicks in, and as he realizes that she beats Stargirl in a contest sixty times out of ten. There is a moment of hesitance, as he tries to think of a cool name... "I'm Garen, but you can call me..." Kid Static? Nah, Static might get angry! Over-charge? What was he a taxi? Live.. wire? He had heard that somewhere but he couldn't remember where.. "You can call me live wire, and it's because you're pretty, Miss Mart- I mean Miss Mee'gan..."
Robin as GM: She gives a slight smirk. "Livewire? Like the Human lightning bolt? Any relation?" she takes a seat next to him and waves her hand, a computer console suddenly rising out of the floor next to her seat. *not accusitory, but definately interested*
Me as Garen: 'Okay, scramble back there cowboy... Human Lightning bolt? WHY WAS EVERY GOOD ELECTRICITY BASED CODENAME TAKEN?' The thoughts penetrated his mind, and once against honesty was the only scrambling answer, because he couldn't story-tell to explain something like that. "No... I just heard it before and thought it was cool and untaken... I don't have a code name."
Robin as GM: "It's okay, those sort of things take time. Mine wasn't even my idea. It was given to me by Kid Flash back when I first came to Earth. But let's talk about you... " She taps the keys a bit. "For the records, could you tell me your name and where your from?"
Me as Garen: That comes like a lightning strike, "My name is Garen Wendell MacArthur... Almost was grendel, ew! But my mom named me that, and I'm from Dakota... you know, where Static's from?" of course Dakota had more than Static to lay claim to fame, but it was what Garen always thought of first. Static was awesome! He interjects- "I've been here before..." then looks around waiting for the next question.
Robin as GM: "So I'm guessing Lightning powers from the name... You're wanting to come on board with the Titans then?" She has a playful smile on her face, and Garen remembers this is an evaluation.
Me as Garen: "Yeah... I am applying for the Titans, because Static suggested it." He's never been to a job interview or anything like an evaluation, and his normal source of advise for something like that didn't help much because he couldn't very well tell he was applying for an internship at the Teen titan's tower as a superhero! "And my powers are electricity based, I think... I can do the stuff Static does, and sometimes more... I'm really strong! And can jump really high!"
Robin as GM: "That's sure to get you noticed. But why not try to go solo, you know... get some experience?" *Semi-Loaded question, but one they always ask.
Me as Garen: His instinct was not to lie, his tall tales had fell so far, so he answered honestly and without hestiation. "Because Static told me not too... and because there's this girl in Dakota who I can't fight... because mom said not to hit girls, and because she keeps using water powers so I can't even block her!"
"But also because what's the fun of being a superhero if you can't have friends who're superheroes too...? It's a lonely life without friends... and my friends don't even live by me anymore because I moved... and people don't like it when you rocket dunk over them in Basketball."
He looks at the ground, sighing. He wasn't sure how well this was going, but he figured answering truthfully might well be the best situation. "Also because not even Static could defeat Brainiac by himself." "He needed my hel-... scratch that."
Robin as GM: "Believe me, I understand that. Having these abilities seperates you. And that's part of what the Titans are all about. Making sure you are not alone. Learning how to control and work your abilities in these situations. ALthough I never had the chance to use my abilities for sports. Mars doesn't have much in the way of physical recreation." She sighs a bit. "But it's also dangerous. What about your family?"
Me as Garen: He might've responded to Miss Martian's statement with enthusiasm and 'oooh, I want to know more!' but her question about his family took precedence. It was a sensitive issue. "I have a mom, she loves me and I love her, and she works hard and has told me how to be a good person.... that's it." There's something about the tone the fourteen year old puts on that implies he doesn't want more questions about his family* or "well what about you dad?"
Robin as GM: He doesn't catch the slight eye glow she takes on and and she dismisses it with a blink. "You need to tell her." "Believe me, when you're out doing your own thing, it's hard enough to keep the people you care about safe. But if they don't even know, it's even harder. Besides, while she may be in the city, it would be... 'unwise' to move constantly between a Titan Tower and your family home." "Most Titans live on site... not to say you need to cut ties but, this is a situation where she cannot be kept in the dark." she looks to him expectantly, this is an important point.
Me as Garen: He gulps, there's few things he fears as much as what his mom's reaction would be when he tells her about how he's a superhero now and how he's joining the Teen Titans and stuff. But nods. "You're right, I do. She's my only family and I don't want to be like my dad, he left us without a word when she found out she was with child..." he glares, as if that's one of the most villainous things he thinks someone can do, but doesn't hestitate. "Plus it'd make her wonder less about where I was or why I disappeared when there was a threat to Jump City... and she'll know she wasn't imagining things when she thought she saw Static after he saved me..."
Robin as GM: "We'll help how we can... would you like me to come with you?" *pulls herself up... is that it? Really? The interveiw is over?*
Me as Garen: He blinks, was the interview over already, really? The way she worded it... was he in the Teen Titans now? "Well... yeah, you could come with me to tell her... but I should tell her first, you can just prove to her that I'm not lying or fibbing."
Robin as GM: "Well," her outfit melts into her and she retains her features except appearing as an adult social worker.
