BACKGROUND


As the eldest child of Lady Penelope, Dawn Drummond-Clayton had high expectations placed on her from an early age however Dawn was very headstrong as a child and clashes between mother and daughter were common. Dawn had an affinity for the outdoors and more often than not she would turn up to dinner with her younger brother in tow covered in mud and grass stains.

Dawn attended the same school as her mother and whilst only an average student she excelled in athletics, gymnastics, swimming and fencing. Throughout her years at the Roedean School for Girls, Dawn gained a new appreciation for what been the child of Viscountess Greystoke meant.

During her gap year Dawn travelled the world mainly following the party scene and spent a number of months studying fencing in Paris.

Returning home to the Family Estate Dawn started to ride and hunt again. One day after a hunt Dawn felt that one of the swords displayed throughout the house was calling her. Perplexed she took the sword to her Mother to ask where it came from

“Yes dear, that sword was retrieved from the Lost City of Opar”
“Opar, I have never heard of that city before”
“Dawn that is why it is known as the Lost City”
“Mother!!”

To Dawn’s surprise her Mother suggested that she take the sword with her when she returned to London as it was just gathering dust even though she remained vague about the history of the sword.

Back in London Dawn returned to a routine of parties, shopping and more parties. During a shopping trip to a jewellery store Dawn was caught up in a robbery, wishing that there was anything she could do, Dawn found herself holding her sword in her hand. Quickly disarming and defeating the robbers Dawn knew then what she wanted to do with her life.

Dawn now lives a double life as a member of the party socialite scene and as the sword-wielding heroine “Osprey”.

COMPLICATIONS

“Family” Loyalty to her family is ingrained in Dawns very fibre of being. Her family takes priority. Dawn is unaware that her Mother Lady Penelope is aware of her dual identity and while Lady Penelope is very proud of her daughter’s actions she is concerned that others will take an interest in Dawn.

“Headstrong” Dawn can be very stubborn at times and while her never-say-die attitude is admirable it has caused difficulties.

BACKGROUND


“No I do prefer Gwendolyn but Gwen is fine with friends. The drink is fine, now I suppose that I should start at the beginning. Ben, Kevin and I were battling Hex and Charmcaster. Hex had returned to his right age and. .”

“Oh of course you don’t know who they are. Ben is my cousin and Kevin my boyfriend. Well Charmcaster, she definitely is a witch and Hex is your typical magician who wants to rule the world. You know the type then. Hex had acquired an ancient artefact called “The Book of White”. Ah I see that you have heard of it anyhow Hex was trying to cast one of the spells out in the desert and we had to stop him. Ben and Kevin were taking care of the Rock Elementals and I was trying to get past Charmcaster. I remember hearing Hex shout out in triumph and seeing what looked out a portal open and I got a sense that something huge was about to step through. It gets a bit messy then as Kevin jumped on Charmcaster while she was looking back to Hex and I just blasted the book in Hex’s hand with everything I had. I remember Hex screaming “You little idiot” and then we all were caught up in a whirlwind, it was like been inside a washing machine, I could hear Bens and Kevins voices but they sounded far away."

“Next thing I knew I was lying face down on a pier with a crowd of onlookers surrounding me. When I stood up they didn’t say anything but just moved out of my way.”

“Okay now I can understand why they kept their distance, appearing out of thin air with smoke pouring off me. It also explains why my clothes smell so rank. I really need some new clothes and a long bath”

“Anyway I thought that I had been transported hundreds of miles away as things did look familiar so I headed to the nearest Plumbers base and was shocked to discover that it was only a plumbers store. Okay in my world we have Plumbers and plumbers but you only have plumbers. Sorry that sounds crazy Plumbers are a secret group that deal with aliens and other unusual events.”

“That is when I realised that I must be in an alternative world as things were similar but just not the same. No I don’t know if any of the others are here as well”

“So long story short I am lost and want to return home and I hope that you can help me and if I can help you in any way just ask.”

“Thank you I would love another hot chocolate but can you tell me one thing is Donald Trump president here?”

COMPLICATIONS

“Fears”: Gwen suffers from both arachnophobia and claustrophobia.

“Responsibility”: Gwen feels very responsible for Ben and Kevin and wants to find them.

“Fish out of Water”: This world is very similar but different from Gwen’s home so if she says that she knows a shortcut it is more likely that you will end up in a dead-end. Gwen does feel very alone at times even with the support of her new friends.


:arrow: Here is my version of Gwen a few more years older than the cartoon. I see Gwen as becoming more of a leader which is why she has the teamwork, inspire and masterplan feats. She has also became a lot more versatile in using her force constructs.
:arrow: Like a lot of people I will leave Gwen's ability as more magic which allows her the ritualist feat and I thought that Craft Chemicals could reflect the making of potions etc. I am not sure whether to apply the magic description to her array though?

:arrow: Here we have the worlds most feared detective; Inspector Gadget. Gadget is a cyborg policeman with a seemingly endless amount of gadgets he can summon by saying "Go-Go-Gadget" then the gadget's name. Unfortunately Gadget is very naive and clueless and only succeeds through a mix of dumb luck and a lot of help from his niece "Penny" and her dog "Brain".

:arrow: I have tried to show Gadget's bad luck by using the "Luck Control" power been uncontrolled and always worst roll for Gadget.

:arrow: The setup of Gadget's powers was borrowed from Dreaming Psion's build of Inspector Gadget.

Edit: Finally recalled where I had seen the inspiration for this build.

- Penny’s wristwatch has five known functions:
-- It is primarily used to communicate with Brain (in a manner very similar to a modern cellular videophone).
---It is used in most episodes to contact Chief Quimby, although this is clearly an audio-only communication, and probably one-way, as a response from the Chief is never heard.
---It can fire a directional laser beam, capable of cutting through a heavy metal door (as seen in quite a few episodes) or merely force it to open.
---It has magnetic abilities, as seen in one episode, whilst Penny is locked in a prison cell, she uses the watch to attract the keys from a distance to the cell, hence allowing her to free herself.
---It seems to have a weaker version of the book’s powers (it was once used to hack into a combination lock and find out the combination)

:arrow: Gadget’s precocious niece. Inspector Gadget is her guardian and caretaker, though often she seems more suited to be his caretaker due to Gadget’s clumsiness. Unknown to anybody else other than Brain, she is a master of investigation and technology who is the one truly responsible for foiling M.A.D.’s schemes. Penny’s principal crime-fighting tool is a high-tech Computer Book capable of breaking codes, surveiling buildings and overriding practically any sort of machine or device. Using the book, Penny is able to monitor Gadget’s activities and - with Brain’s help - surreptitiously help him avoid numerous potential catastrophes that result from his absent-mindedness while uncovering the true nature of Dr. Claw’s plot and foiling it.(**)

"Brain’s communication collar"
Used for communicating with Penny, Brain’s communicator is hidden in his dog collar. When a call is received, the collar’s studs extend out around Brain. Presumably, the three studs contain a camera, speaker and microphone. It also has a tracking device that can direct Brain towards Penny (although he only uses it once).

"Stress:" As Brain's vet keeps telling him he has the blood pressure of a dog 10 times his age and he should find a career less stressful like maybe joining the bomb squad rather than looking after Inspector Gadget

BACKGROUND
:arrow: Brain is Penny’s dog. He assists her in keeping Gadget out of danger and solving the crime. He is a master of disguise and dresses up in order to watch over Gadget and save him from attempts on his life. Although Gadget is in contact with Brain almost the entire time while he is supposedly solving a case, Gadget never sees through his disguises (and as often as not, Gadget assumes Brain is a M.A.D. agent while ignoring all the real ones). Brain’s collar is outfitted with a retractable video communications system linked to a computer wristwatch Penny wears that allows her to relay information on Gadget’s activity, or warn Brain as to the whereabouts of M.A.D. agents. Brain can speak a human language, though in a gruff “dog” voice. Sometimes it is impossible to understand what Brain is saying. In a pinch, Brain will resort to pantomime and physical gestures to communicate effectively.

:arrow: Brain has formed a very good friendship with Scooby Doo and while Scooby will give Brain pointers in disguises, Brain will try to teach Scooby how to use computers and other high tech devices. Most encounters usually end up with Brain and Scooby trying to outdo each other with whom had the most terrifying day either fleeing from a centuries old Pirate Ghost or Gadget's latest escapades. Surprisingly both Scooby and Brain feel a lot better after these sessions.

:arrow: Cheetara was probably my favourite Thunder Cats when I was a kid and this is my version of her.

:arrow: Cheetara is a member of the ThunderCats (noble caste of Thundera) whom flee their dying planet. Their fleet is attacked and destroyed by their enemies and the flag ship that Cheetara is on is damaged. Unable to reach their original destination they instead journey to "Third Earth"; which will take much longer than they had anticipated. The flagship contains the young Lord of the ThunderCats, Lion-O, as well as the ThunderCats Cheetara, Panthro, Tygra, WilyKit and WilyKat, and Snarf.

:arrow: Cheetara is the only adult female ThunderCat and is based on the cheetah. She is as lovely as she is brave and caring. Often a voice of reason, she is also the bearer of a budding "sixth sense," detecting when something is unsafe or if evil is near. This precognitive sense, which Cheetara regards as a curse for the most part, also allows her to perceive visions from both the past and the future. This ability is normally involuntary but Cheetara can try to force herself to have a vision which fatigues her qreatly. She has incredible speed, once clocked at 120 m.p.h. on a morning jog. Her weapon of choice is a bo staff that can grow or shrink to variable lengths. In the comic series Cheetara and Tygra become a couple.

:arrow: Tygra is known as the ThunderCat architect and scientist. He is responsible for the design of all of the ThunderCat structures on Third Earth — the Cat’s Lair and the Tower of Omens.

:arrow: Tygra is Lion-O's second-in-command and provides counsel to Lion-O. Tygra is not a direct fighter and more or less lurks around the fringes. Patient, analytic and calm, Tygra is the most quiet ThunderCat, and usually considers every part of the problem before making a decision

:arrow: Tygra also has the ability to create life-like illusions in other people’s minds which he used for Lion-O’s Anointment Trial, but it puts a great strain on him. I have excluded this ability from the build above as I was trying to fit Tygra in at 150 points and I also felt his illusion ability was a more of a plot device. And while I don't recall a lot about the series I believe that Tigra's illusion powers were only used in the Anointment Trial episodes.

:arrow: In the comic series Tygra and Cheetara become a couple and have a couple of their own Thunder Kittens.

Edit: Tided up some of Tygra's comments and discovered that I had Leaping at 2 points per rank rather than 1.

:arrow: Panthro is the second eldest ThunderCat after Jaga (until Lynx-O is introduced), which meant that he was the oldest ThunderCat when they first landed on Third Earth.

:arrow: Panthro is the technical wizard of the Thundercats. He can build just about anything. He built all their vehicles (ThunderTank, the Feliner and the ThunderClaw, ThunderStrike and HoverCat) and machinery. Even their enemies have been known to kidnap him to fix their stuff because he's the only one who knows how to do it. Panthro is happiest tinkering with machinery, and has an almost paternal affection for the Thundertank, of which he is very protective and which he regularly refers to as his "baby"!

:arrow: Panthro also serves as the main driver and pilot for the Thundercats. Panthro helped Tygra build the Cats Lair and other structures.

:arrow: Panthro is also physically the strongest ThunderCat and is a cunning warrior in combat, relying as much on martial arts as on physical strength. He's been known to charge right in to beat the crap out of bad guys without thinking it through, his never-say-die attitude does motivate the other ThunderCats.

COMMENTS
:arrow: Both WilyKit and WilyKat are very similar builds with just a couple of minor differences.

:arrow: The twins were slighter older than Lion-o when they first fled Thundara. During the trip to Third Earth, Lion-O's suspension capsule was flawed and he aged during the trip while the other Thundercats did not. Both Wilykit and Wilykat then had to deal with Lion-O now being their elder.

:arrow: The Thunderkittens are meant to be the cunning and clever duo, playing pranks on villains and fellow ThunderCats alike. They are also mischievous, due to their age, or lack there of. Out of the 2, WilyKit was the more forceful personality and got into enough trouble for both Thunderkittens, and most of the time, she was only taking her gullible brother down with her when he got in trouble. Overall the Thunderkittens are sneaky, mischievous and at the same time, quite resourceful.

I really like your thread, Gilliam. There are some really original build here. I especially like your Thudercats; ah, the memories. I can't really judge them yet, as it's been ages sense I saw the series, but I'll see what I can find online and then get back and review your work.

The Sword of Omens possesses powers not completely understood, and can only be used for the purposes of good. Embedded in the hilt of the sword is the Eye of Thundera, which allows the holder to look through the space on either side of the eye and see various past and present events, a power referred to as sight beyond sight. The sword can also grow in length, be used to summon the other ThunderCats, and will come when the owner calls for it. The Eye of Thundera seems to be what really gives the sword it's power, and is said to be the source of the ThunderCats' power. The Sword of Omens originally belonged to Jaga and passed to Lion-O upon his death.

:arrow: Lion-O was the son of Claudus the last Lord of the Thundercats and barely 12 years old when they fled
Thundera. During the trip to Third Earth, Lion-O's suspension capsule was flawed and Lion-O aged during the trip arriving as a fully grown adult on Third Earth.

:arrow: Throughout the series Jaga would appear to Lion-O in visions to provide guidance and impart wisdom to Lion-O. In very rare instances Jaga could be seen by the other ThunderCats - usually in times of great danger.

:arrow: Although cunning and skillful, Lion-O is truly a child in a man's body, and throughout the series, must learn what it takes to become a true leader and gain true maturity. After successfully completing the "Anointment Trials", Lion-O was acknowledged as the new Lord of the ThunderCats. After attaining this title Lion-O gained the ability to command felines which has been excluded from the above build.

Edit: Made a number of changes as suggested by Sand Fox and added a couple of extra feats as well.

And that completes the last of the major ThunderCats builds. I know that I have not included Snarf and will probably stat him up later. I have to admit that when I was refreshing my memory about the ThunderCats that I came across references to another 3 characters Lynx-O, Bengali and Pumyra that in all honesty I didn't recall at all. My excuse is that the cartoon was on a long time ago but I may try to stat them up as well.

My next builds will include Osprey's younger brother and a couple of old pulp characters. There is a build that I have been trying to put together but end up going round in circles so I may post him and ask for help to tidy him up.
