Background: Dr. Daniel Friedman was an obscure paleontologist working in the field of dinosaur DNA replication. He was convinced that he could harvest or synthesize viable DNA. At the same time he was carrying on an affair with his lab assistant and his lab assistant's husband did not take kindly to this. The cuckolded husband planted a pipe bomb in Friedman's laboratory. The explosion infused Friedman with experimental dinosaur DNA and changed him into his current form. His lab assistant was not so "lucky." Her genotype was not predisposed to alteration and she was reduced to constituent chemicals as her body rejected the transmogrification. Of course, the first person, Sauron sought out was the husband. He, too, was "reduced"--by Sauron's fists. Friedman has grown used to his new form and hires out as muscle--strictly to fund his continuing experiments. He like a mate of his own, one with a suitable genotype to alteration....

Background: Sari Buyak was born in some ancient, mystical realm a very long time ago. She has sewn dissension, woe, anarchy, and the like for millennia. She doesn't outright control them, but insidiously inhibits a person's ability to interact with her (and opens the victim up to exploitation by others due to their crippled interaction skills.) Don't underestimate her, however. She's strong, fast, and can unleash hell on earth. She's only on Blacklight's team for as long as it amuses her, and has everyone under her thumb as the secret power behind the throne.

Villain team: Blacklight's Brigade

Blacklight's Brigade is a supervillian team led by Blacklight, who fancies himself a military leader. He doesn't have any military training, but he is a natural leader.

The power behind the throne is Blue Blaze. She's a manipulator par excellence and has everyone thoroughly under her influence.

Sister Stiletto is Blacklight's buck fuddy and a ruthless assassin. She takes assignments outside of the group's plans, much to the urging of Blue Blaze's hidden persuasion.

Muscle is provided by Sauron who is not a dumb brute. A transformed scientist, he doesn't seek to find a way to transform himself back, but to find a suitable mate.

Feryl is an animal, plain and simple. Though that's being cruel to the true nature of animals, as he is simply ferocity incarnate. He doesn't seem to want money. Perhaps being in Blacklight's Brigade is simply the outlet for his violence, giving him some sort of purpose other than random murder. While he is not immune to Blue Blaze, he can smell the stench of her evil and tries to avoid her.

Blacklight typically concentrates on high-stakes robbery. For example, they'll steal nuclear waste and sell it to a rogue nation or terrorist group for refinement. Bank/armored car robberies are not beyond the group, though this is more Sauron's preference for quick cash so he can fund his experiments. The group can also be hired out to interfere in the affairs of other nations.

For a team with diverse interests, they do work well together. Blue Blaze is not just a behind-the-scenes manipulator and will most certainly enter direct combat. She will blink around the field of combat with her undetectable teleportation and sneak attack do-gooders. Sauron will take out the big guns, while Sister Stiletto sneaks up and does away with vulnerable targets. Feryl prefers the direct approach. Blacklight is very powerful and and can unleash terrific damage. They coordinate on hard targets and force heroes to choose between fighting them (they all enjoy a good fight) and protecting people and property.

Background: Charli Oliver had always been a tomboy and much more preferred to hang with the guys then do just about anything with the other girls. She got into weightlifting early on and as a pretty girl, it wasn't much of a leap to modeling.

At a party one night, Charli was abducted along with several other models by an insane scientist named Dr. Rictus who couldn't stand the sight of attractive women and vowed to vivisect them all! Needless to say, Charli was a handful and fought back. An accident in Rictus' lab doused her with chemicals and she went down for the count. Or at least Rictus thought so. The chemicals had a strange effect on Charli and forced a super-soldier-like process into her system. Her body's dynamics were painfully enhanced, but when she came out the other side, she had the ability and the wherewithal to defeat Rictus and rescue the girls. Of course, Charli became a media sensation and enjoyed her new found power and high profile.

Background: Elden Osmus has always been a man looking for power. His father enrolled him in strength-training, martial arts, and the like, but Elden had no physical facility for it. Elden was of above-average intelligence, though he didn't excel in matters of the mind either. He wasn't particularly handsome or charismatic. And by the time he made it into college, his desire for power had turned into lust. He had some moderate success gaining admission to a devil-worshiping cult and Elden killed his first man. A ritual of power gone wrong turned Elden into a alligator after he double crossed a Bayou cantrip practitioner. Aside from losing his voice in his current form, Elden doesn't mind his new form. He'd had little satisfaction with even mind-controlled women, and now he has the power he'd always been searching for.

No one knows who the Shambler is, or where he came from, or even how he got the name. It's not even an accurate name, because he's deceptively fast. Just as soon as you think you've outpaced him, he's right there again. He always has blood on his lips, so people think he's a flesh-eating zombie, but no one's seen him eat anything. Quite often you might just walk right past him as he's standing in the shadows of an alley and never know it and never realize how lucky you just were. Other times, and for no reason, he'll attack anything that moves.

He never says anything (not even a growl). What's his story? Why is he so violent? If you put him down, he's just as likely to get back up again. And now he has your scent....

Background: Charllie Cross was a good cop, but he was too much of a goody two-shoes and too inflexible when it came to looking the other way. After ratting out some corrupt cops, he was left on his own when he responded to a fire at an abandoned house--a known drug squat. The bent cops were getting rid of a witness and hey, if Charlie went up with him, then that would just be a tragedy, now wouldn't it?

Charlie did his best to get the addicts out, but the house was fully involved and Charlie became trapped. He was surrounded on all sides by intense fire and he succumbed. Actually, he melted. And poured outside. And reformed. Where those superpowers came from, he didn't know, but they saved his life. However, Charlie was unable to save the addicts and he partly blamed himself. The Job seemed untenable now as his story fell on deaf ears. He had no way of explaining how he got out of the fire, let alone anyone believing that he was ever in it as he didn't have a scratch or burn on him.

No, his time with the police force had come to an end. But that was okay. He knew of another way to help people. As a private investigator. And Vector!

Background: When a baby laughs for the first time, a fairy is born. Maia was born in Pixie Hollow, Never Land. She would be given several gifts to ensure the completion of her task: the heightened senses of animals, the silver tongue of the Charmed and combined with her martial prowess, she would leave Pixie Hollow forever and take up residence in Man's world where she would persue those responsible. And kill them.
